「Data Acquisition Device」の「DAQCards-6024E」

Hi
We have bought the DAQcard-6024E card with it's drivers. (for PCMCIA)
I need a list of the instructions for setting up and reading the card using C++.
Where can I find such a list or document?
Thanks!Hi eben,
I would recommend taking a look at the DAQ Getting Started Guide. This should have all the information you need. The location of the examples are listed on page 11.

I recently purchased a DAQCard 6024E and am trying to set it up on a windows XP laptop. Labview 4.0.1 vis do not seem to function. Do I have some compatibility issues? Thanks
Hello;
The oldest version of NI-DAQ that supports that card of yours is 6.6, which doesn't support Labview 4. Furthermore, the only NI-DAQ version that supports windows XP is the latest one, 6.9.2, and the Labview version that supports that same OS is 6.1.
Since you will have to upgrade Labview to be able to work with that DAQ card of yours, I advise you to upgrade to Labview 6.1, so you can work under XP also.
Hope this helps.

Can you offer me the parameters of DAQcard-6024E for biobench 1.0 Devinfo
I have downloaded the support file 'Devinfo', but my biobench 1.0 still can not get this new card. Can one offer me the parameters needed to add in Devinfo file?
(PS: the device ID of DAQcard-6024E is 91)There were some DAQ and BB1.0 incompatibilities due to the way Biobench handled device numbers internally. The solution is to upgrade to BB 1.2 which works with all our DAQ boards.

IRQ conflict on Dell Inspiron 5100 with DAQCard 6024E
Hi,
I have DELL INSPIRON 5100 and I am trying to make working my DAQCard 6024E , but it gives me following error on MAX Device Test Panel: The Device is not responding to the First Level IRQ. Would you like to continue anyway? Please see attached file for IRQ allocation on my Laptop.
What kind of drivers you requested from DELL? Can you please share those drivers so I can try out for my laptop.
Thanks,

IRQ.doc 85 KBWow, it looks like you have quite a bit of stuff on IRQ 10. My guess would be that another device is using that IRQ and not letting the 6024E use IRQ 10. Fortunately, it looks like you should have plenty of other resources available, so I would try to configure your card on another IRQ. Hopefully you can go to the properties on that card in the device manager and try to manualy set the IRQ to one that isn't being used. Good luck.

Convert elements using DAQCard-6024E to USB-6221using LabVIEW 2009
I just received an old project, the VI was mainly designed using DAQCard-6024E. Since we'd upgrade the equipment, and the DAQCard-6024E is no long used. However, they want to keep the similar front panel. I am trying to convert the pull-down menu that I can use with USB-6221 with Windows 7, but I don't know how. Can anyone help?
Windows 7, NI USB-6221, LabVIEW 2009 sp1

You should be able to use this document's Digital Output section to see how to modify your VI:

DAQCard-6024E returns all zeros
I am using a DAQCard-6024E on a 120MHz Pentium desktop running Windows 95 and LabVIEW Run-time 6.1. To duplicate the problem, I built an executable for the Acquire N Scans example and entered Channels 3:0, Number of Scans 1000, Scan rate 20000, and clicked Run Continuously. It works fine for an hour or so, (with occasional timeouts), but then the signal changes to identically zero (no noise and no error messages). After this, the only way I have found to get it going again is to power down the computer or hot unplug/plug the DAQCard-6024E. Re-booting without turning off the power does not work. I have been using the same DAQCard-6024E on another (much faster) computer running Windows 98 and never seen this problem.
What is the cause of
this problem and what can I do about it?See

Pin assignment for DAQCard-6024E
Card is installed and functioning with 3rd party software. I want to build a simple interface to measure input analogue signals. We bought a bread board from NI (CB-68LPR it says) with a cable to connect to PCMCIA DAQCard 6024E. Now I have access to all 56 pins. But the card came from my 3rd party person and I don't have any manuals and cannot find any infomation about the pin assignments. I found reference to the "DAQ Assistant", but this has not been installed on my system (Measurement and Automation Explorer is there and I can run the Test Panel). Ultimately I will use a program called WINview to monitor my input signals. This seems pretty basic.
DavidHello David,
I think all you are looking for are the pin assignments for the DAQCard-6024E device. This information can be found on page 4-2 of the 6024E User Manual.
Post back if this was not the only information you were looking for.

Two edge separator with a NI DAQCard-6024E for PCMCIA
Hi,
I have two different TTL-level signals available, and I want to measure the duration of time starting when one signal goes high and stoping when the next signal goes high.
How can I do this using LabVIEW 5.1 and a NI DAQCard-6024E (PCMCIA)?
Thankful for every answer.
Regards,
HenrikProbably the best way to do this is to set up counter 0 to do triggered pulse generation and then do buffered period measurement on counter 1, with the second signal being the gate signal. In other words, the first TTL signal starts the first counter producing a pulse train and the second counter measures this pulse train until the second signal causes it to latch. Look at some of the examples for triggered pulse generation and buffered period measurement and this will probably help you get started.

I have a customer who is currently using a DAQCard-700. I have the pin outs for this but he wants to replace this with the DAQCard-6024E. I can't find the pin outs for this, does any one know what they are or where I can get them?
Thanks
KevinHi Kevin,
It's Peter H from National Instruments technical support department here. The pin-out diagram for all the 16-channel E-series cards except the 6025E, is the second diagram from the left on page 213 of the 2004 National Instruments catalog.
Hope this helps,

DaqCard 6024E intermittant with Windows XP
I am still having trouble running the PCMCIA DaqCard 6024E reliability
on a Winbook running home version XP. I could get by, but my customers
can't.
I ordered two cards, one to upgrade a Winbook laptop running Windows Me
(from a DaqCard 500) (a little over a year old) and the other for a new
Winbook which came with XP installed. I also have a new Winbook running
XP (also home version) and working fine with a DaqPad 6020E from the USB
port. I am using the latest version of NIDaq, 6.9.2. Once MAX sees the
card, LabVIEW has no problems.
Both of the DaqCards cards run fine in the old Winbook running Me.
Neither of the PCMCIA 6024E cards will run reliably with the XP system.
>From a cold boot, I have to restart several times (usually between 5 and
10 times) before the card is recognized (little icon in task bar). Or
if I boot once and then just unplug and replug the card - hot - it also
requires about 5 to 10 of these cycles. Once its recognized, if I
unplug and replug the card it will not fail to recognize the card until
between 15 and 20 tries.
Just to verify that the laptop is ok, I bought a PCMCIA ethernet card.
The box for the ethernet card (Netgear FA411) indicated that it would
run with Windows 95/98/Me and a sticker on the cellophane wrapper said
"Works with Windows XP". The sticker (afterthought) suggested to me
that if it would work with Windows 95/98/Me it would also work with XP.
I rebooted 25 times and the computer recognized it every time. I also
unplugged and plugged the either net card - hot - 25 times and the
computer recognized it every time.
Winbook will not guarantee survival if I try to load 98 or Me in the new
computer. I think these systems are assembled and loaded in China and
they don't have the drivers in Ohio. By the way, this is my fifth
Winbook, and this is my first problem. Otherwise XP seems to run better
than Me. My new Winbook with XP and the DaqPad has never failed. I
have been using it nearly every day since February. I developed both of
the DacCard systems with it.
I think the Winbooks, about $1000, and the DaqCards are perfect for my
customers. I hope we can fix this problem.
For the present, my clients are using the computers in the lab and are
able to leave them on continuously 24X7. But soon they will get
approvals and will have to go to the clinic for their study. They have
to move a cart into a room, plug in the equipment and can't be messing
with the cards when the room is $700 per hour and the Doctors are upset
(that's a mild term). If we loose a study, we have lost a consenting
patient, (they are not easy to come by these days). I suppose, if I
have to, we could use DaqPAds, but I don't want to do that, nor do I
want the lose the restocking fee. In addition, I am currently putting
another system together, which I will deliver at the end of July. Not
sure what to buy, DaqCard or DaqPad (prefer DaqCard).
Thank, Harry

www.bra-llc.comHarry;
We don't have anything reported yet about Winbooks and Windows XP.
One thing you can try out though, is to see if the Socket drivers in use by the Winbook are the Native ones provided by Microsoft.
If they aren't uninstall those and install the NAtive ones from the Windows installation CD. If that is the case, it's probably the cause of the problem.
Hope this helps.

DAQcard 6024E crashes with windows 2000
I am using a daqcard with windows 2000pro and labview 7 and it occasionally stops responding and I have to do multiple re-boots of the pc before it starts working again. it also seems to occasionaly have problems being recognised by windows and max, sometimes it is picked up by one and not the other. Is this a patchable windows bug as i dont seem to have the same problems on a different pc also running win 2k pro. (but i haven't run on the other pc as long as the one with the probs) i have also noticed that if power it connected to the I/O on the daq card, the problem occurs more often on bootup of the pc.
Testing the DAQCard in another laptop is a good first step in order to verify that the problem is probably with the configuration of windows and software rather than with the hardware. It appears that your DAQCard is working properly since you do not see the problem on a different computer.
Often times problems with PCMCIA devices can be a result of the PCMCIA socket or the PCMCIA drivers and software. The following Knowledgebase contains good information on debugging problems with PCMCIA cards and discusses how to remove any 3rd party socket services (that are usually installed onto mainstream laptops) and replace it with the default Windows software:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/7CBFAB1E451C3A1886256D98006914AE?OpenDocument
In your particu
lar case you might check the resources and software settings of the two laptops to see if they are noticeable different. In particular check to see what software controls the PCMCIA devices and if there are other background programs running that might cause problems with Windows on your first machine.
Also, you will want to check to the version of NI-DAQ that you have installed to see if that is different between the two computers. All versions of NI-DAQ can be downloaded from our website (ni.com/support) if you wish to upgrade, with our latest version being NI-DAQ 7.1.
If you have any other questions or comments then please let us know.

Error 10452 using DAQCard 6024E
When I try to run a .vi that get data from a sensor... I get error 10452 and it says 'no interupt is available for use.' I am using a HP Pavillion zd7000 laptop in a WinXP environment. I have attempted changing the IRQ to no avail... has anyone had a similar problem and figured out a solution?
THe best thing to do is to check to see what IRQ is currently assigned to your DAQCard, and determine if any other devices in your system are also using that same IRQ. If there is a conflict, then the problems you described will occur. Ways to resolve it include disabling or changing the IRQ of the other conflicting device to another IRQ value, or changing the IRQ your DAQCard is using to a value which is currently unused.
The following thread discusses a similar issue and gives suggestions:
http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=250&message.id=5394
I am curious, which IRQ values have you attempted to use thus far with no luck ? -
DAQCard-6024E Card Fails Self Test - what wrong?
I am attempting to write a Visual C++ application that uses a DACCard-6024E and I have installed the NI-DAQmx 7.4 drivers. Measurement and Automation Explorer has detected the card as "Dev1". An I/O port and IRQ were assigned.
When I do a "Self-Test", I get the following error message.
Error
The device self test has failed. The error report from the device driver is as follows:
Error -200020 occurred at Self Test
Possible Reason(s):
Self-test of the device has failed.
OK
Am I missing a step that will enable the board?
Thanks.Try removing the device from your PC, then uninstall your DAQmx drivers and install DAQmx 8. Shutdown and put the device back in and see if it passes self-test.
