DAQmx Channel (AI min/max) read

System:
LV 2012, DAQmx 9.7.5 on PXI-8110
I have about 30 DAQmx channels (mostly Analog Inputs) with custom scales on my RT (8110) running LV 2012. When I programatically read AI.Mx & Min using LV 2012, It get bogus (non zero) values for the first 15 channels and then the rest have correct values.
Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

The 8110 is a controller and not a DAQ card and the ai min and max for a daq card channel is not supposed to be zero. The values are the range for the A/D - +/- 5 volts for example.

Min Max Planning not reading Flow Schedules as Demand

We use min max planning to order all recurring purchases and flow schedules for production planning.

Accessing DAQmx channel information without DAQmx device attached to system.

I am currently writing a LabView VI that makes use of a PXI-6229 card on a seperate chassis. The chassis is connected to a seperate computer from the one that I am using to develope the program. My problem is that I need to be able to obtain the DAQmx channel settings for various global channels, but since I don't have the DAQmx card attached to the system, I can't create global channels, and I can't set the channel nodes to return the data I need. In example, I need to be able to retrieve the Max and Min values for a voltage channel, but the channel properties node only lets me access/see the properties Active Channel, Channel Type, Physical Channel Name, and Description. Is there anyway to define a simulated channel for purposes of programming without the DAQmx card being there?
I'm trying to avoid defining the channels at run time by using globals, but if I need to, I can define them via config file and pull the settings off that as well.

It is possible to have a DAQmx global channel in MAX without having the DAQ Device in that system. You will need to create the global channel in MAX on the system that does have the DAQ Device. Then select File>>Export in MAX on that system to create a .nce configuration file for MAX. You can then load that file into MAX on your development system by selecting File>>Import. That will import your global channels into MAX on your development system. However, they will show up in MAX with a red X next to them indicating that the device is not present.

FF9 - can i hide window control buttons in titlebar (min, max, close) with userchrome.css?

I use FF9. In userscript.css i hide titlebar and orange app button, but window control buttons still visible! I just can`t find working script.
I dont need min-max-close button and wont to hide it without extension if possible.

How to Programmatically Set Scale on DAQmx Channel? Possible LabView Bug?

Hi folks. I have researched this question here on the forums and think I know what I need to do, but it doesn't work.
What I'm Trying to Do
I am creating a DAQmx Analog Out task that will write to a dozen channels. I would like to set the scale on each of those channels to one of a handful of custom scales that I've already defined in my project. From reading various posts on this forum, it sounds like I want to pull each channel out of the task using the DAQmx Task property node, then set each scale by writing to the AO.CustomScaleName property within the DAQmx Channel property node. See the attached screenshots and VI file.
The Problem
I keep getting error 200378 "Custom scale specified does not exist". The custom scale definitely exists in the project, but the VI won't recognize it. It sounds similar to the bug described in this thread: http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Why-do-I-receive-Error-200378-quot-Custom-scale-specified-does/td-p/... However, I've tried the various workarounds mentioned in that thread (opening VI outside of project, then from within project, etc) and I don't get any different results. I'm running LV 8.6.1
Questions
Does this VI work for anyone else once you've defined a custom scale with the same name as the one in the VI?
Am I doing something obviously wrong?
Is there a better way to do this?

This workaround isn't exactly what you are trying to do, but I have made a set of VI's that will let you open up the DAQmx Assistants from LabVIEW code programmatically.

You can call the VI to edit a channel and manually reassign the scale if you want to avoid going straight to MAX.

Is There a way to programmatically extract global virtual channel info from max?

I have a group of DAQmx virtual global channels setup in MAX and I would like to be able to programmatically extract the physical channel information to be included with the data file. In the past I have been able to use traditional NI-DAQ channel utility vi's to accomplish this, but they only see traditional NI-DAQ virtual channels and not DAQmx virtual channels. Is there a group of vi's for extracting DAQmx virtual channel information? I'm using Labview 7.1 with a Windows XP OS.

I can access basic properties using the approach you described, but do you know how to get the units from the global virtual channel? Say I had a general appliance for reading in load cells, and I wanted to have the axis labels in a graph show the units of whatever load cell had been selected.

so basically i would first denormalize the data using the pivot column and then use min and max to get the slot_start and slot_end.
But then i
can get the min and max ... but not the orignal values as well.

If you want to end up with one row per slot per datasource etc, and you want the min and max slots that have the same value as the current slot, then you probably need to be using analytic functions, like:

Min/ Max interval data storage

OK, so what I am trying to do is scan 2 voltages at 3K, temporarily write that data to a file or buffer, read the min and max values, and log those to a file once per minute. I'm at the point where I can scan and display the data, but really don't know where to go next. Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

You only need a single loop. You can use the "elapsed time" express VI to signal when time has elapsed, and simply use a case structure to append the averages to the data before writing (in the false case just wire the current data across). You should also open the file before the loop, append inside the loop, and only close the file once the loop completes. You can use the min&max ptbypt VI to keep track of the min and max for each interval or just keep track of it using a shift register.

DateTimeAxis min/max bug? Problems with consistent padding. Date Wrapping.

I have been working on a problem with a BarChart object that I've created using dynamic data.
My primary issue is that I can't seem to get the proper min/max values to set for the chart.
To solve this I manually found the min and max of the data set of Dates and set the min and max of the chart. This allowed me to finally see all the floating custom bars (each bar is rendered with a user set fill), however now if I have a bar that extends over a year change the horizontal axis labels do not wrap the date properly, so instead of 2/10 (feb 2010) being the last date, 12/09 (dec 2009) is the last date.
I've been trying to dynamically adjust the padding based upon a change event, but so far to no avail. Partially I think because I'm not sure which event for the function to fire on.

this, however, does not adjust the padding properly when an operation is removed from the list. Not to mention I still have the date wrapping error. It gives me the following error:

Alright, so I've discovered that the ONLY time the date wrapping error occurs is when the axis labels contain only the month and year, any other time it places it properly.
Does anyone know where I can report this bug?

It's clearly not impossible, just different than you expect. Create your playlist as you want it to appear in the Current tab (meaning don't dump every single song from your library in there, just the ones you want) and then save the playlist.

Several DAQmx Channels with Start and Clear Task VI's

Hi,
I'm trying to read in several DAQmx channels in a while loop. When I just place the channels within the while loop and connect them directly to the read VI's, everything is fine. But I read in the help, that this will slow down my system, because it's opening and closing the task each cycle. So I used Start Task and Clear Task VI's to open and clear them before and after the loop. But now it's only reading one of my channels in, although I wired all of them in exactly the same manner. Anyone has an idea, what I did wrong?

You would have seen the error if you had wired up and error indicator.
You cannot run multiple tasks of the same type (i.e. an analog input) at the same time. What you read about stopping and closing tasks is correct but it was the only way your program could work. What you don't realize is that you can have multiple channels with a single task. If you used a physical channel constant, it would be something like 'dev1/ai0:2' if you had consecutive channels or 'dev1/ai0, dev1/ai2' for non-consecutive. Global channels are done in a similar fashion. You would have 'FSR1, FSR2, Knee Angle', etc.

I have a Power Mac G5 - How can I run Matrox MX02 mini max

I have a Power Mac G5 Running Mac OSX 10.5.8 I recently got the MX02 Mini Max by Matrox to run my Final Cut Studio application version 6.6 and Im having problems with the pci board that comes with the matrox unit ( it does not fit in the mother board) how would i be able to use this with out connecting the pci board into my mother board on my Mac.?

Can't use it with a G5.
System requirements are Mac Pro and Intel-based MacBook Pro running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.6 or higher.
IF (big if) the card is PPC Mac compatible, only Late 2005 G5 machines have PCIe. All other G5s are PCI.
The Matrox card is PCIe, not PCI.

The min/max scan rate is0.00596-20K scan/s and the channel rate is 1.53-20Kchannels/s
How do they calculate these data?

Bug: combo_box doesn't support min, max, precision, or validate

Combo boxes don't support the min, max, precision, or validate properties, contrary to what the documentation states in "Lightroom SDK 3.0\API Reference\modules\LrView edit view properties.html".

I have installed firefox 4 and i have an issue which for start i dont know if it is supposed to be so or not.
When i maximize firefox ,Navigation bar is mixed (shown below) the orange button on the upleft of my screen.Also is shown below of the 3 windows buttons (min,max,close) of the windows 7 in the upperight of my screen.
Is this supposed to be so?

Any news on this.
I think it has something to do with the add on : Tabgroups manager.
If i disable this add on then everything works normally.
Also when this add on is enabled my tabs are always below adress bar ,no matter what.

Min Max Planning to replenish from a single sub inventory

I am new to this site but could certainly use some help in a problem I am having. I am on a team in the process of implement discrete manufacturing. Here is the problem I am having. I am trying to set up min/max replenishment to a specific sub inventory. We currently have a centralized fabricated (make parts) store room. From that store room we move parts to variuos supermarkets with in the factory. From the supermarkets parts are component picked or kan ban replenished. The problem that I am having is that I want the replenishment trigger back to the sheet metal fabrication area to come from the "Centralized Make" parts storeroom. It is currently adding up all the locations or sub inventories the part number resides in to include RIP. I am being told that there is no way to limit the trigger to a single sub inventory.

Sandeep, Thanks I was able to generate and run the report and it did look only that the specified sub inventory and suggested the reorder qty properly. After running the report under the item number it says "unable to generate requisition" How does the fabrication area get a signal to begin the fabrication process, create a discrete job or create a planne order or something? So far your recommendations have been right on target! Again thankyou.
