DAQmX does not show up in Labview 8.5
History: Got sick of Vista and downgraded to XP SP2. Reinstalled Labview, Measurement Studio then DAQmX 9.4 (downloaded the latest from NI site).
Measurement Studio seems to load DAQmX tasks correctly although I am afraid to compile in case it trashes hours of work. I have no reason to trust that it won't.
Labview just does not recognize DAQmX. It doesn't show up in toolbox. Meas & Automation runs and talks to my USB-6212 so I guess that DAQ drivers must be installed and load properly. But Labview.... N/G. Is this version (DAQmX 9.4.0f1) not compatible with LV 8.5? I don't get it.
I have uninstalled DAQmX & reinstalled it with the same results (none). Please help.

PCI 6281 board does not show up in Labview as having available physical channels
Hi, I have recently changed computers from a Windows XP machine to a Windows 7 machine. I am running Labview 8.6 (I realize LabView is not officially supported for Windows 7, but most features seem to work fine). I also have a PCI - 6281 M series DAQ board. Although the drivers seem to have installed properly for this card, Labview does not see any available physical channels. The board shows up in MAX under the PXI heading, and seems to have no conflicts with VISA addressing. I am not sure if the board should be there, as is there no PXI bus in this setup. I can't see the physical channels with any NI software including DAQ assistant in the main program, or Signals Express. Any advice would be appreciated.
DAQmx is version 8.7.2. Also, I installed the card prior to the drivers, I will try removing the card and replacing it. I seem to have isolated the problem - my old computer had the card showing up under the heading NI-DAQmx devices, where on the new computer it shows up under in the PXI heading in the measurement and automation explorer. I'm still not sure how to fix it though.

NI-DNET software version 1.4.2 does not show up on Labview 8.2
I am using the NI Devicenet PCI card in my system. After installing the 1.4.2 software, I had no trouble communicating with my Devicenet controller with Labview 8.0. After downloading Labview 8.2, I no longer get the devicenet vi's on the Instrument I/O pulldown menu. I can find the VI's by choosing "Select a VI" and then browsing my directories until I find the VI I want, but this is very time consuming. Also under Find Examples, therre were a few Devicenet examples under Hardware Input and Output. Those examples are no longer there.
Thanks,
RogerHi Roger,
NI-DNET 1.4.2 supports only LabVIEW versions that were released when NI-DNET 1.4.2 got released (LabVIEW 7.0 ... 8.0). Please use NI-DNET 1.5.1 if you need NI-DNET support for LabVIEW 8.2.
You can find it on ftp://ftp.ni.com/outgoing/NI-DNET151.exe
It will be available through the regular download channel in the next few days.

CJC channel does not show up in MAX
Greetings,
I have an SCXI 1124 that I am reading in 32 TC's with. When I try to configure it for CJC internal under MAX for physical channel it does not show up as described in "DAQmx Acquire CJC Temperature". In that document the CJC physical channel should show up as a string similar to SC1Mod1/_cjcTemp but all I see under MAX under the 1124 is ai0-31. I know this should be obvious but could someone shed some light on this and explain my oversight.Hi teslac,
The SCXI 1124 is an Analog Output module. Could you mean an 1121 or 1125 possibly?
Also, are you scanning the cjc temp channel along with the thermocouple channels? There are some SCXI modules that have to scan only the cjc temp channel without any other channels. You can find this information int he KnowledgeBase article below.
How Can I Address and Use Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) with SCXI Modules?
Hope this helps!

Real-Time does not show up as an add-in under NI Max after installing
We are trying to re-install Labview 7.1 Real-Time on a Windows 2K
PC. I insert the Real-Time disk and it completes
installation. After a Reboot, I check under
Softaware/LabView/Addins and it does not show up. It also does
not show up as a target option when I start labview. It worked
before applying the latest RIO patch. After the patch, we
uninstalled all the Real-Time stuff via the Control Panel/National
Instruments Uninstall (apparently, the uninstall from the RT CD does
not actually uninstall anything) We rebooted a directed after
uninstalling. Then we reinstalled RT, rebooted, and nothing shows
up for it. It seems like something is screwed up in the registry
or something. Can anyone help!!!!
Thanks,
ChrisIt may be best to clean your registry after uninstalling everything.
This is a relatively extreme step, but after this you should be able to
install (first LabVIEW, then any DAQ, then any add-ons and toolkits)
and see everything in the right place.
After uninstalling:
Remove the following registry components from the Windows Registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\National Instruments Delete the entire tree!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\National Instruments Delete the entire tree!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\PCI\ , \ISA, or \PCMCIA and delete registry entries containing any keys with 1093 in them.
Do not worry if any of these trees are not listed.

MAX does not show scanner card
I'm using an Allen-Bradley 1784-PCDIS PCI scanner card, and it does not show up in MAX. I've un-installed the card, un-installed NI-DNET 1.41, then re-installed NI-DNET, installed the scanner card, and it still doesn't show up. The card does communicate if I use A-B's RSNetworx or IOLinx, but if I try any LabView VI's, I have no luck. Any ideas or suggestions?
I'm running Windows XP Professional with LabView 6.1.
Additional note - the same PC has a NetMos dual RS-232 card installed, which also doesn't show up in MAX, but it works perfectly with any VI that I test it with.Hi knorcross
The NI-DNET software supports only National Instruments DNET (and with restrictions CAN) hardware products. DeviceNet products from other vendors are not supported (and thus, they won't show up in MAX). For information or device driver software, please refer to the documentation you received with your Allen-Bradley 1784-PCIDS scanner card.

NiMax does not show hardware servo card
I have a machine that went down and I am trying to very quickly learn about the NI products. The PC has a PCI Servo card in it that is recognized and installed by win 2000. It says it is working, but the LabView application says that there is no board at the address requested when it is launched. It sounds like the configuration/initialization of the card is corrupted. I opened NiMax, but in the tree on the left it does not show any cards under my computer. Any help appreciated.
Thanks!Hello hokie1989,
The first thing to do is to make sure that you have the correct software installed. Which NI Motion driver do you have installed? This can be found in Measurement and Automation Explorer under the "Software" section. I would try reinstalling the motion driver but before you do the install make sure you take out the PCI card first. Once your computer recognized the card as an NI motion controller you should see it in MAX under Devices and Interfaces >> NI Motion Devices. Also If you install a different version of the motion driver you will need to update the firmware on the motion card. This can be done by clicking on your device in MAX and then selecting "Update Firmware" in the right window. I hope this information helps. Thanks and have a great day.

TPC-2006, Dial control does not show
I am using a TPC-2006 based on Windows CE, the problem I have is that I want to show on the panel a Dial control, but the control does not show fine, it seems that there is a problem with that, I would like to know if there is an upgrade of firmware or something that can help.
Another thing is that it is a 3D control, but in LabView PDA there is no Dial on Classic controls, would it work if I import a Dial classic control?

Asesor Electrico, S.A. de C.V.Yes, the dial control displays in a funny way, I mean, the circle of the dial does not appear, even if I colour it in labview it does not show in the display of the TPC2006. The only thing that appears in the screen is the label of the numbers of the dial, and the indicator of the position of the dial, but when you move the position of the dial, it seems that the screen does not refresh the movement and it leaves the marks where the line of the position was before.
Right now I don't have with me the equipment, I found this bug in the offices of NI in Mexico, but as I will work with this kind of displays It is very interesting to me that it works fine.

Multicolumn does not show any value when I tried to put a value on column 4 or above
When I put a value in column 4 or above ( in any row ) multicolumn listbox doesn't show me any return. I got a example from NI forums and changed it to see if it works , but the results are the same.
Does anyone know about it. I'm using labview 2009 9.0f3
Thanks in advanceCan you link to the example you are using?
What is a "return" that it does not show? I am not familiar with these terms.
Why don't you attach a simplified version of your VI with steps to demonstrate the problem

I have an apple iphone 4 that I want to download audio books from my library onto. I cannot figure out how to do that. The iphone does not show up on my mac laptop as a connected device. Does this kind of download have to run through itunes? Thanks
Yes it is done through iTunes. The iPhone will never show up in Finder as a device. The following is general information on iTunes sync: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386 and the following is a previous discussion where the post by Andreas Junge helped others that had a problem syncing audiobooks: https://discussions.apple.com/message/20052732#20052732

How do i repair or recover data from a corrupt USB external hard drive that does not show up on my Mac desktop or disk utility?
Last night i was using my external hard drive, for some reason the folder just closed and i couldn't find it on my desktop.
After googling solutions, i found it in the disk utilities, i clicked on the 'repair' button many times, but it said the 'error...' message.
So i ejected it to try again, now when i connect the USB external hard drive it doesn't show up on my desktop or disk utilities.
I really just want to either repair or recover the data on it because it literally has everything (documents, work files, photos etc) on it,
I downloaded an application to recover my files but it needs the USB to at least show up.recognise it which mine doesn't.
I know i should've backed it up on another USB, this definitely teaches me for next time to back up all my files.
Are the files lost forever or can i recover them by going to a shop or using a software?Thank you for responding.
This might sound stupid since i'm not really knowledgeable with Macs,
but since all my files were moved from my mac computer to the external hard drive,
is it possible to recover those files through my Mac - like recovering deleted files? -
Why when using Adobe Bridge, I apply a star rating, the rating does not show up in Photoshop Elements. I use Elements as my organizer and Bridge to view as it is much more user friendly. Anyone any solutions??
Most likely you have set the wrong file as the external editor. You don't want the obvious one; that's just a link to the welcome screen. Go back and choose this one, which is hidden away inside the folder Support Files:

Field Explorer in Crystal Reports does not show the same names as Bex Query
Hi
I have crystal reports, I can retrieve data from BW Bex Query. But in the field explorer it does not show the names as in the Bex query designer.
In the Bex query designer a field will have the following technical name 0Debitor and the description is Customer.
It shows in crystal reports in the field explorer twice as D[0DEBITOR]D and D[0DEBITOR]D. It also does not seperate key figures and characteristics.
I would like it to display the field explorer as shown in this blog.

take a look here:
/people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2008/02/19/businessobjects-and-sap-part-2
make sure you are using the MDX Driver and what happens is that you will see several fields per characteristic. example: one for the key, one for the description, several if modelled for the display attributes

Adobe Creative Cloud does not show all my apps as registered.
Adobe Creative Cloud properly shows my Adobe Photoshop CS6 as registered. However, it does not show my Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, or my Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.4 as registered. How can I get these programs to be properly registerd as "MY APPS" in Adobe Creative Cloud? I am running Windows 8 and have had photoshop for a number of years. I installed Acrobat XI Pro in December, but it has never been recognized in Adobe Creative Cloud as registered.
Hey Pete,
I'm not sure why Acrobat XI is not recognized. It is on my system. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling it.
You can uninstall through the OS
Control Panel > Programs & Features
and then reinstall it through the Creative Cloud app or https://creative.adobe.com/products
