DAQmx driver for DAQ 6009? Need DAQ Assistant in Block Panel palette.

Do I understand things right?  The Ni USB DAQ 6009 is supported in DAQmx base and not DAQmx, or is this only true for the 6008? I need the DAQ Assistant in my LV 2009 Block Panel palette.  Do I go to my Ni-DAQmx 8.8 CDs, or do I download something.  Maybe I have the DAQmx base already?  I'm going to search my palette and NI Max.  I am also going to look at http://www.ni.com/support/daq/version_portable.htm#du.   If I'm going about this all wrong, please help.
Thanks
Norm

Hi Dennis
My DAQmx Cds are 8.8.  I don't  have a selection for the DAQ Assistant on my block panel palette, so I'm looking to get an update for my DAQmx driver for my USB 6009 DAQ that I'll be using with my  student software for LabVIEW 2009 version 9.0.  I've looked at a NI document "NI-DAQmx and NI-DAQ Driver Support: Portable Devices"  that was published on Jan 17, 2013.  It says for Windows 7 I should be using 9.6mx, but this document make no reference to a version of LabVIEW.  The date of the document is 1/17/13; maybe it is refering to  only to version LabVIEW 2013.  Can you help?
From what I've read I believe I need to use DAQmx and not DAQmx base, but I can't help wondering if the DAQmx base has something to do with the "NI DAQmx Device Basics" that I see on the right side of the screen when I'm in NI MAX getting ready to run the test panels.    ?????
Thank you for your time
N.D.

    Hello,
Thanks for your reply.I will try to answer your questions.
I have checked the Device Mananger and I have seen that the device is detected by Windows  XP.  For another question the card shows up under both NI-DAQmx Devices and Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Devices consistently in the Measurement & Automation Explorer.I use a way that I reset the driver for traditional NI-DAQ in MAX,and then i reset the device for NI-DAQmx driver in MAX and again i tried to run the test panel of DAQmx driver but again i saw a wrong signal or noise signal on the test panel i could not see the sinusoidal signal that i connected. i do get the test panels to run with the card using the DAQmx driver,  But could not run the DAQ diagnostic utility. The error was as i specified below.

    Hi all,
Any one has the driver for Rotek 8000?  Thanks!
    Yik
Kudos and Accepted as Solution are welcome!

Is this similar to the 8100? Some years ago someone posted some code for an 8100. It's not a complete library. There was also a document in the NI Communities section created for the 8100, and it appears that a library was intended to be posted there, but none was ever placed. You may wish to contact the author of the document to find out if he still has the library.

I only need to it to work in "open Windows " mode
    Thanks

I am also looking for GeForce support under Solaris 8. XI Graphics
do not (yet) offer such a driver, and - judging from the discussions
in various newsgroups - I am not the only one who cannot get XFree running.
To get over the time until a working solution appears, a VESA driver
would be a nice thing to have, like in BeOS - it does not recognise my card either, but allows me to use a (admittedly slow) high-res desktop
    with a decent color depth.
Is something like that available? The 640x480 in grayscale, plus display problems in CDE, are barely usable IMHO.

  • M93p SFF "missing driver" for &DEV_8C24&SUBSYS_309717AA; needed Intel chipset utility 10.0.24

A new M93p SFF machine arrived Thursday, which I'm preparing for shipment to a friend in Virginia whose current 7-year old desktop machine has finally reached its own end-of-life.  Win7 Pro x64 pre-installed (via downgrade rights from Win8.1).
I've bought four M93p machines now (one tower and three SFF) and they've all been standard CPU... i5-4570.  This time I thought I'd spend the extra $30 and go for one step up, to the i5-4670.  Cheap enough.  Aside from the Win7 downgrade the rest of the machine is standard.
And then I do my own "after market hardware upgrade", purchasing my own parts: adding another 4GB of memory from Crucial, adding a 256GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD, and adding a low-profile 1GB DDR5 Sapphire R7 250 video card.  The existing two pre-installed Win7 boot partitions were easily migrated over to the SSD from the stock 500GB SATA spinner, and the original 500GB spinner was then fully repurposed to be a second "data" drive.  All went without a hitch... almost.
In the process of doing Windows Updates, driver updates, Lenovo/Norton bloatware removal, Lenovo software updates, etc., I noticed that there was a device showing a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager.  This was of course totally unexpected, and I was very curious as to its cause.  Was it due to the i5-4670 CPU?  Was it due to a BIOS update which now made use of a hardware feature that had previously been disabled?  Didn't know.
The device was "PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller".  And its Hardware ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C24&SUBSYS_309717AA.  The mystery was why this didn't have a suitable Lenovo-provided driver specifically available on the download site for the M93p.  And if it was actually an Intel hardware item and should have been supported by the Intel Chipset Utility (latest version for Haswell from Lenovo being 10.0.13), why did it not have the proper driver?  And why didn't "update driver automatically" through Windows Update not find the proper driver on the MS Update Catalog site?
    All very interesting.
Well, turns out support for this device is related to Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework Driver.  And it turns out that it IS actually supported by the latest Chipset Utility from Intel (v10.0.24), available directly from the Intel download center.  Unfortunately it is NOT present in the older 10.0.13 available from Lenovo on their own download site for the M93p drivers and software.
Once that most current 10.0.24 version of the Intel Chipset Utility was run, now sure enough the device is now correctly supported by its driver and no longer appears as "other" with a yellow exclamation mark.  Instead, it now appears properly labeled as "Intel(R) 8 Series/C220 Series Thermal - 8C24".
So, problem now resolved.  No more "other" unknown device with yellow exclamation mark.
But the question still remains as to what has only newly triggered this in my brand new just manufactured (10A9CT01WW, with its special order i5-4670 CPU instead of standard i5-4570) and delivered Lenovo-provided M93p?  How is it that Lenovo didn't observe this?  Is it something new from Intel now present in the Q87 chipset used on the motherboard?  Why didn't it appear in any of the other three M93p machines I've purchased over the past year?
If it was tied to the i5-4670 CPU, you'd still think Lenovo would have noticed this issue before now.
Anyway, for anybody else who comes along behind me and has this same hardware problem, the solution is easy: just grab at least the latest 10.0.24 Chipset Utility from Intel.  Until Lenovo updates things, this appears to be the fix.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Today's followup...
Lenovo tech showed up as scheduled, although I was baffled because yesterday I was told the replacement board was "back ordered" and still in China (or maybe on a boat in a container, waiting to be unloaded).  With the longshoreman's problem on the west coast and specifically affecting the Port of LA, it's not clear when items shipped this way will arrive.
Anyway, today I get a phone call that the tech is 30 minutes out!  Great, although I'm baffled as to how he has a motherboard today if yesterday it was supposed "back ordered". Also, he does have the replacement case front fan, in the event it wasn't the original motherboard sensor which that was responsible for the reporting the "system fan" as "not operating" even though it was plugged into the fan header on the motherboard and was spinning properly.
Well, turns out the system board he arrived with was NOT the same 00K277 board delivered from the factory in my M93p as it arrived last Thursday.  Instead, it was a presumably acceptable substitute 3T7183 board.  And in fact, once installed it DID work.
However... still "not operating" for the front case fan.  Disappointing.
Also, the "motherboard temp" of 212F degrees now was no longer even presented at all!  It simply was not reported by the sensor to the software.  This actually agrees with another M93p, which also fails to report "motherboard temp", while yet another M93p reports it as 72F degrees (instead of the 212F degrees from my original Thursday board).  So maybe this particular issue should just be entirely forgotten about, although it certainly doesn't seem at all correct.
Next step, try to replace the case fan.  With "not operating" from two boards (and thus two fan headers), it obviously would seem to be the fan itself that's probably responsible.
Well, unfortunately they sent the wrong fan part.  It's cable was 4-wire (i.e. PWM?) rather than 3-wire of the original.  also the 4-wire cable on the new fan was far too short to be able to reach over to the fan header connector on the motherboard.  It's quite simply the wrong fan part.
So, the tech re-ordered the correct replacement fan.  Presumably when available I'll get another call and another tech will come out to swap it.  Hopefully that will finally resolve the "not operating" system fan issue and I will finally see its RPM.
Bottom line: today's service call accomplished nothing productive.  The new board did no harm but it also did no good.  And the new fan was unusable, since it was the wrong fan part.
    I await the next visit.

  • Lenovo PM Driver for X130e AMD needs work for Windows 8 RTM

I tried doing the battery rundown test in the Windows Assessment Console in the new Assessment and Deployment Kit and the system tries to sleep, but the screen backlight stays lit and the system doesn't actually go to sleep.  It also won't wake up properly from sleep all the time, regardless of whether I'm running tests on it.  Sometimes it does though, so it's buggy.
Also, the backlight options in Windows 8 aren't properly calibrated for the system.  At about 30-40% brightness (according the slider) the backlight is at the darkest option already, and setting it any lower doesn't reduce it further.  Windows 8 also says that the backlight settings affect battery performance when it's any higher than 50%, but at that brightness, it's too dark to see anything at all.
Just FYI:  I'm using full UEFI-only boot mode on the X130e.  The system model is 0622-23U, and it is still the stock configuration.  I do have a Microsoft USB receiver for a Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000 always plugged into it, but those mice are fully compatible with Windows 8, according to Microsoft.  When I did the battery rundown test, I only had the AC power plug and the mouse receiver in.  I didn't use the computer while it was doing the test - as instructed on screen.

So is HP going to make drivers for my Laptop?!?! I payed over $1500 for my laptop and it is only 3 years old and it can't run Windows 8 because of this driver issue?!?! What kind of computer company is this. A customer pays top dollar for a premium computer and this is what happens!! Windows 8.1 is right around the corner and there is not even a Windows 8 driver.....

  • HP 15-p189sa wireless driver for win 7 needed

Hi folks I have a friends parent that got a new laptop and wanted win 7 not "that awful windows 8 thing" , she purchased a win7 home premium disk and i installed it and can get wired internet acces but just cant find a driver to make the wifi work. I spent 4 hours there yesterdsay and was banging my head on the table trying to make it work.
    Any help much appricated.

You will need to identify the installed wifi adapter in order to make this work. Use the Device Manager and then post the PCI\VEN code here in the thread. Right click on the wireless device, select properties and then use the Details tab and property tab dropdown arrow to locate the hardware ids.

    Hello,
I installed Windows Vista on my Pc Satellite A100-924, where can I find drivers for hotkeys?
On Toshiba site I find only the ones for XP, but.... on my PC that I bought about 3 years ago, there is a sticker on the case that says that this computer is Windows Vista capable.
Is possible that Toshiba has not released a drivers that work with Vista?
thanks in advance at all.... Max
Message was edited - changed Vista to Win 7

    Hi
Im afraid there is no further utility to get the FN buttons working. The VAP is the only one package which controls this setting under Vista and Win 7.
I remember that the Flash Cards utility (part of VAP) controls the FN buttons.
Please check if the Flash Card Utility is enabled in Programs -> Toshiba -> Flash Cards utility

  • Need to find a driver for cRIO-9211 thermocouple to be used with LabView

I am using the NI cRIO-9211 Thermocouple input and the NI USB-9162 Hi-Speed USB Carrier and need to find a driver to interface the thermocouple with LabView 8.5.1. Could you point me in the right direction as to where I can download a driver for this?

    Hi Durnan,
You will require the DAQmx driver for the USB 9162. This can be found here: ni.com/downloads, see DAQmx 8.8 - would do.
You only require the DAQmx driver, as the C Series modules are supported - they can just be used in a cRIO as well.
    Hope this helps,

  • Use external drive for Time Capsule backups AND file storage?

I have an external drive formatted by my MBP.  I'm using it to store my iTunes music library and iPhoto pics.  Can I use the drive for Time Capsule backups as well?

Yes, but that is not recommended. Storage and backup should be kept separate to reduce the chances of a disk failure. This is especially important because you cannot even partition a Time Capsule drive. Go get a separate drive for your storage needs. Get another drive for a second backup and use a different method of backup than Time Machine
