Dark background in iTunes 11

Is there a way to give iTunes its dark background back. I've been searching in all the settings but no more dark grit view setting. Everything is white now and the cleanniness is freaking me out. I would love to have the dark grey background back that was in 10.7. PLEASE????!!!!!!!

hi guys
it's easy to go back to 10.7 & get that feature ( & others.. ) back !
indeed, it's a pain in the ''eyes'' looking at it w/ a white background...
just follow these instructions as explained here, it's DEAD EASY & in less than an hour all will be back to normality :

  • White background in iTunes 9

Wish we were given a choice I hate the white it's way to harsh so I left feedback asking nicely for my dark background back please do the same if you feel as I do,and lets hope some one's looking

They changed the icons on the side a bit. Not too bad, they look good. They made the menu bar a little shinier. Not bad, but a little odd since it doesn't match any of the other iLife programs, or the finder, or the look of anything else in Apples interface.
*I love all things apple. But really a white background without anyway to change it?* Just to make iTunes 9 look different from 8? They should take a page from their own play book. Snow Leopard minor visual changes, major changes under the hood. *It doesn't have to look different to tell us that it is different.*
iTunes and iPhoto had a similar appearance. I like the way they went together. Like a good belt and shoes. *But why couldn't they or why doesn't apple give us an Appearance option in preferences like they do in iPhoto?* I can have a black background or a white background or anything in between. I mean they have the code already written for iPhoto, just cut and paste. (ok I know it's not that simple, but I know they can do it.)
*So Apple please do it. Soon.*

  • Dark background in grid view

Did the dark background in grid view go away with iTunes 11?

  • Dark bars around songs in Grid View with Dark Background

Hi, with the new update that added the option for the dark background in Grid View does anyone else notice dark bars around each song?

    sidssp:
If you were able to get this new option in preferences to show up by removing your com.apple.iTunes.plist from ~/Library/Preferences, and you still have a copy of that file (maybe in your Time Machine backup on on your desktop), please email it to me <[email protected]>. Please include a link to this thread in your email and make the subject line be "Preference not showing up in 9.0.2".

  • Animated GIF doesn't work against dark backgrounds in HTML

I've created an animated GIF in Photoshop, exported it for web with transparency, and placed it in my HTML code. It doesn't work against the dark background on my page. However, when I open the image in a new browser tab, voila, the animation works precisely as it should.
Why is the background affecting the animation and how can I work around this?

    Hello Frank,
    problem is solved.
I have installed IE7 on a Windows 2003 Server Edition and used remote desktop client to test the application.
It seems that either a setting on W2003 or the remote desktop client avoid to see the animation.
On locally installed IE7 animated gif's works fine.

  • Need to remove white background for use on dark background

    Hi,
I have a stock image of some people on a white background. I need to remove the white background so I can use the image in a project with a dark background. However when I put the edited subjects on the dark background, the people all have noticeable white borders around them which I assume means I am not getting all of the white out, especially around the hair. Can anyone recommend the best way of overcoming this? Thanks.

Can anyone recommend the best way of overcoming this? Thanks.
There is no single "best way". It all depends on the resolution of the image and its other quality properties. The - theoretically - cleanest and less workladden method would be to extract the luminance e.g. by converting to Lab mode and selecting the L channel, then adjust the channel range. However, if the foreground also contains lots of bright colors, clipping back the channel black and white points would also affect them and you'd need more adjustments to compensate or work with teh refine mask tool a lot to feather edges just like you would with a conventioan layer mask created from an interactive selection. On top of that you may also still need to apply all teh other dirty tricks like using a dark inner glow to cover up remaining bright areas or fill the outside with a dark color... Really depends, but you should be prepared to invest some time. Using longwinded manual painting and cloning may even be required...

  • How to change pdf (with dark background) so it print with white background and dark text??

I have lots of nice presentations I am studying- the problem is most of them were made in ppt with dark backgrounds and white text then converted to pdf files. So when I print them, I get a dark (black) background with white text- very annoying. Is there anyway to get it to print with a light (or no) backround with black text? This is much easier for note taking/etc. I have adobe acrobat professional.

Use the rectangle shape tool. Draw a rectangle over the entire frame. In the shape tab, color it whatever you want. Export your TGA sequence.

PS: But if you place a colored bkg in your motion project that you will effectively have no alpha channel. Are they referencing the TGA's alpha?

  • Font is blurry on dark background.

    Hey everyone,
I'm experiencing very annoying trouble out here. My font rendering is kind of blurry when it comes to dark backgrounds. Here's a screenshot using Swyphs II color theme. My rendering is on the top of the screenshot, author's is at the bottom, after the red line.

This behavior is everywhere, where I have light text on dark background (excluding images of course).
Font smoothing in system perferences is set to 'Automatic', and i'm on Leopard, 23" ACD. Changing font-smoothing option does not affect it at all.
    Any ideas, anyone?
    Thanks in Advance.

  • OSX.6 change filename color black to white on dark background

OSX.6 change filename color black to white on dark background

Thanks for that, but what I asking was how to change the OSX default filename font color from black to white, so it becomes more easily visible when dark backgrounds are selected in icon view, eg the same way the Desktop default does, except when files are not on the Desktop.
or to put it another way:
if anyone's worked out an easy way to how to change the color of the font itself, rather than changing the folder/filename background using File, Label, Color, eg because light colors may already be in use as Labels, and so mean something else.
or as explored in this archived discussion:
How to change the color of the file name Font in Finder window and Desktop

  • Remove dots on a dark background photo? Please help!

    Hello,
I'm a newbie! I'm desperately trying to make a slideshow of my daughter's wedding to show at her reception next week. I have Iphoto 8 and the newest Aperture and also Photoshop ELements 4. I'm using an Apple I Mac. I have a couple questions:
1 - How do remove red spots that are all over an old photo? It has a very dark background. I've played ith the Healing brushes and Paintbrushes. But no success.
2 - Workflow? The photos are imported into the Aperture Library. I have iMovie8 and Final Cut and iDVD. In what order would it be easiest to put the slideshow together?
    THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
    Terri

    Terri:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Can you post the photo so we can see what you're dealing with? If you have a .Mac account you can put a small version of it in the iDisk Pictures folder and then post a text like like the following:
    <*a href="http://homepage.mac.com/AccountName/.Pictures/FileName" target="_blank">TEXT<*/a>
except remove the asterisks (*) as they were added so the code would show as text.
I've found that iPhoto's Retouch tool does a very good job of getting rid of blemishes on a photo. You might try that.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Hello, I have this red mark/smudge that you can only see in a dark background?

Hello I have this red mark/smudge on my macbook pro. You can only see it when there is a dark background and it's right in the middle. I included a picture as well, please ignore the reflection of my hand on the screen. It is the red mark in the middle. I don't know what's causing this or what it is, please help.

Hi, did you end up knowing what it was because I have the same exact problem... and the smudge have the same exact shape

  • Can't see spot brush on dark background

I have just installed Photoshop CS4. When I try to use the spot healing box on a dark background, the target area is invisible as the target circle is black, as is the background. It's like trying to find a black cat in a coal mine.
What can I do to see the brush target circle.

we have asked for option to modify cursor lightness for over 4 versions or
to make it a color like red that can been seen on gray areas
Windows users are dissed once again by Adobe (blaming Microsoft OS) who say
    it is not possible
I have been told Mac users get a cursor that changes color as it it used
    over different areas
it is super annoying to try to use heal or clone on a gray background image
which applies to most film scans of B&W
I bought a scanner with ICE that was supposed to remove dust, only to find
it only works on COLOR images
ICE does not work to remove the dust from B&W negs so much spotting is
    required
and the point to circle is really not a good workaround, we need to see the
    brush size
I use the above mentioned adjustment layer method too
at least that feature has been improved to ignore the layers you don't want
    included

  • LV 2010 dark background

I have some example vi's with a darker background then the standard background color of LV 2010 vi's. How to get this background so dark?

    Hi JoVMo,
To change the background of a VI you use the Set Color Tool.  If you navigate to "View >> Tools Palette" and select the color (both default grey), you can then click on the background and its color will change.
