Dark Blotches on Bottom of Screen...

Hey all,
I've had my 12" PB for a month or so. I noticed everytime when I open up my PB and turn it on, there's 2 oval dark spots, (Right under the Dock) until the screen warms up, it's fine and goes away. Is this okay? Just wanted to make sure. Any comments is appreciated.

As long as the uneven illumination clears up once the screen has warmed up after a few minutes then the chances are that it will be deemed 'normal' and within spec. My own 12" PowerBook has had the same symptoms since the day I bought it.
However my 15" PB has suffered the same problem (twice) but, importantly, it never cleared up so rendering the screen unusable for any serious work. On both occasions the screen was replaced under warranty though this was before Apple announced their Display Repair Program.
So, in your case, the screen is probably OK.

Dark shadows at bottom of screen on MBP 15"

Bought new MBP (15" matte screen) 4 days ago. On day 2 had dark lines looking like shadows running about 4" up from bottom of screen. Haven't seen them again but Genius Bar guy today said could have been because it was new machine and probably won't see them again. Anyone have similiar experience?

How do I get Javascript to work? It is enabled in options but nothing happens when I select something that begins "javascript" on the status bar at the bottom of screen.

When I tried to download a file from the Canon U.S.A, I clicked on the "I agree - begin download" button and nothing happened. The information in the status bar at bottom of screen, when the mouse cursor is over the download button is "javascript:downloadFile()". I got following from the error console -
Error: The stylesheet http://www.usa.canon.com/wsss/GeneratedPages/wsss_xsl/global.css was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html", is not "text/css".

There were also many warnings about parsing of commands.
This sort of thing seems to happens whenever whenever javascript is involved.

I checked out the "Unable to download or save files" section. The only thing that seemed applicable was the "Reset download actions" section. I renamed the mimeTypes.rdf file to mimeTypes.rdf.old but it didn't seem to have any effect on downloading the file I wanted. There was still no response when I asked for the download.
I have noticed another problem that occurs when I try to download this file. I exit Firefox, then try to restart it. But nothing happens. I have discovered that in the Task Manager that the Firefox process is still running. When I end the Firefox process in the Task Manager, I am then able to restart Firefox.
By the way, I am able to download the file using Internet Explorer without difficulty.

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?

Dark blotches - Imac 27"

I have dark blotches in a large area of the upper right corner of my display on my Sep. 2010 IMac 27. Any one have a similar issue?

Horizontal bar showing desktop bottom of screen

I clicked or tapped something on my doc, now a 1 inch horizontal bar runs along bottom of screen showing desktop

I have no clue what that means! Lol.... Sorry. I did remove "dock from view", I have restarted the computer. I forgot how to take a screen snapshot, but again, just a horizontal bar along bottom, showing desktop. Dock, if visible sits on top of it, if I go to "full screen" bottom showing desktop disappears.
Again, when I tapped with two fingers, or right clicked or tapped with one finger....cannot replicate it, it just appeared pushing whatever window I have open up an inch and showing my desktop.

You can only access the recent apps by double tapping the home button or by swiping up from the bottom of the screen if you enable multi-tasking gestures on your iPad. Go to Settings>General>Multitasking Gestures>On. If you enable that setting - you can also swipe across the screen to switch between running/open apps.

Hello and thanks for the help. My address bar, toolbar and system tray was missing. I felt very lost without them! Pressing F11 brought them back, but every time I switch to a new page, the system tray disappears again. In the View menu, all the available toolbars are checked but I still keep loosing the system tray every time I move to a new page. H-E-L-P!

Taskbar gone when i put it at the bottom on screen. help me???

I'm use window 7 starter pack for netbook.
The problem is my taskbar out of screen when i put it at the bottom on screen. If i set at up on screen it can be visible.
and also happen when i open folder at maximize , the part of bottom folder out of screen ( can't visible / not fit my netbook screen)
the point of my problem i think is my windows display out of my bottom netbook screen.

The main issue is we won`t see the taskbar if we locate it at the bottom of the screen ,right ?
Did the issue occur recently or it shows the symptom all the time ?
If the issue occurred recently ,I recommend you reinstall your display adapters driver from the device manager .You may need to manually download the driver from the manufacturer for the netbook.
What is the present resolution of the netbook ?
We can change the resolution of the machine to have a check .
Right click the desktop , choose "Screen resolution","Resolution"
If the issue persists and it occured recently ,we can perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous normal point .Please note you will lose some configurations after the restore point.
