Dark photos with the iPhone iPod touch 5th gen

For those of you having issues with dark photo using the camera on the listed devices, try this. I was having exactly the same problem even when there was background lighting and the flash was on. By chance! while playing around with the camera I have found touching the screen on either product improved the poor quality and enhances the contrast and brightness. However it does not make any differeance when using the Panormic mode. If it works for you please let me know and star accordingly., ta

If backlight is making the object you want to photograph too dark, touch the screen where the object you want to photograph is. It will set the focus and light meter in that area. A white square will show up to show you the area it's focusing and setting the light adjustment on.

  • How do I empty my Photo library on my iPod Touch 5th Gen?

Hi!  How do I empty my Photo Library on my iPod Touch 5th Gen?  It says I have 10.7 GB of photos but I've deleted all photos and videos from all messages, Photo Stream, etc.  Accessing it via a laptop and the DCIM folder is also free.  Where do I find what's taking up that space and then removing it?

    - You have to unsync photos that were synced to the iPod. That is covered here
Sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch in iTunes - Apple Support
    - There are also program like TouchCopy and Phone view that can do it but those are paid programs
    - Backup the iPod and then restore from backup since synced photos are not included in the backup

  • Why is Apple not offering AppleCare Plus on the new iPod Touch 5th Gen?

I don't understand why Apple would offer damage protection on iPhone and iPad, but not on iPod touches? Unless Apple offers a replacement model for $149 ($99 plus $49 deductable), then I don't see the point. However, I still think it makes the purchase decision a lot easier on parents knowing that a $300 or $400 device can be protected in case of accidental damage.

That question would be more appropriate for Apple support. All of here are only end users like yourself and can only speculate as to why it's not being offered for the 5G iPod Touch.  However, speculation of Apple products and such are prohibitied on these forums. Sorry.

  • Why wont some itunes album art load up on the NEW ipod Touch, 5th Gen?

Having an issue where some artwork will load, while others wont onto my new 5th Gen ipod Touch. I've tried deleting and then reloading the music onto the device, but it wont reconize the artwork. Anyone else having this issue or have a viable solution?
    Many hanks in avance,

Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
What do yo see if yo go to the Updates Section of the App Store app?

  • IPod Touch (5th Gen) and iOS 6.0.1 Update

I'm having some problems with upgrading my iPod Touch (5th Gen) to iOS 6.0.1.
The iPod is currently stuck in the mode where it shows the connect to iTunes symbol. When I connect to it to iTunes on my MacBook Pro, I am asked to 'Restore and Update' which I click. The update file downloads, but as soon as it completes, it disappears and never installs. I then have no choice but to start again which results in exactly the same problem. I don't seem to be able to restore the iPod without downloading the latest software.
    Does anyone have any advice?
    Thanks.

  • If i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it as the option 'set up as new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos and ect?

if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...
and i hope you understand my problem..
i would REALLY REALLY appreciate it if someone could tell me a solution to my problem!!! thank you so much!

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. Hope this helps. Good luck. Cheers.

  • I have numerous different apple products with the new lightening connector, all of which have broken or stopped working after just short periods of time, I have an iPhone 5C, and iPad mini and and iPod Touch 5th gen?

Hi, I have numerous different Apple products, an iphone 5c, iPad mini and iPod touch 5th gen.
I have had them all for only relatively short periods of time yet the lightning cable has stopped working on all of them?
On the touch, charging has stopped completely?
Is this a manufacturing issue with the new charging system?

Hi, yes I'm using the original apple cables.
This definitely isn't user error nor confined just to me, the devices are used by different people in the home.
On a quick sample around the office (survey of 7 people let me add) 4 of them said the cables had broken on them and had to be replaced.
Having also searched through the forums it appears this is a fairly widespread issue.
    It's defo not user error!

  • Is there any way to get my photos and videos off a ipod touch 5th gen that went through the was and does not work anymore?

My ipod touch 5th gen went through the wash the other day while it was on and it came out not working at all. I was wondering if there was a way to get any of my photos and videos off of it so i could put them on my computer. Anything will do, from do it yourself methods to companies that will do it for you.

    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore another iPod, iPad or iPhone from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If they are in the iTunes backup then get them from the backup by:
Recover iPhone, iPad or iPod photos from backups with Picturescue
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting photos (only) from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - A data recovery company can likely get them off the iPod. Be prepared to pay alot. Google for iPhone data recovery

  • My iPod touch 5th gen won't turn on past the apple logo, do I need to restore to factory settings? If so, is there a way to save my photos?

I've had my iPod touch 5th gen for a little over half a year now, haven't had any issues until now. Yesterday it randomly shut down, and when I try to turn it back on, the apple logo shows up but the iPod just stays on that screen, it doesn't turn on any further. I think I might need to restore it to the factory settings to get it to work again, but I'm concerned that I'm going to lose all my photos. I found the backup folder in my computer but it doesn't have any files in it. I have over 600 pictures on my iPod and I really don't want to lose them all. Is there a way that I can either get my iPod to work again without restoring, or a way that I can extract the photos without the iPod actually being in functioning condition? The computer doesn't recognize the device when it gets connected via the USB. Thanks!

    - Connect the iPod to your computer and try to make a backup
iOS: How to back up and restore your content
    - Next reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
and try making a backup again. If you can't then there is no way of getting the info off the iPod unless data recovery company can do it. Not cheap.
    - If photos are in an existing iPod backup (iTune>Preferences>Devices  for iTunes backup or an iCloud backu) then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
