Dark skin in PS CS5

Is there any posibility?
Since i don't see very good  would be very usefull for me if there is eny way to change a Photoshop skin to black or some dark color.

Thanks for the answer.
Just, i would like to have tabs, and allround in dark grey. Working area is
not so important.
Just like new ACDSee, or Paintshop, or OnOne plugins, if you know what i
mean.
Thanks again for your effort.
Hope that people ina Adobe think about things like this.

Photoshop itself does not support "skinning", per se, but you can set the
color of the working area around the image in Tabbed view.  Simply
right-click on the space around the canvas.  You can set a custom color; I
set mine to dark gray.

  • Black or dark skin for Photoshop CS4?

Anyone know if there is a good black or dark skin for Photoshop CS4?  Perhaps one that looks like Lightroom?  Is it possible?

  • Onion Skinning in AE CS5 with brush tool???

Hey everyone!  Hope you'll all doing well.  I'm just trying to see if there's any type of "onion skinning" option in CS5?  I can't find it and it would be very helpful.  Thanks.

    No.
The closest that you get is the overlay when using the Clone Stamp tool.
That said, there are some non-native approaches that people have put together. This search pulls up some.

  • Dark skin tone, poor lighting

I suspect I know the answer to this, but thought I'd reach out just in case.
I have some video footage of a speaker with very, very dark skin who is standing against a white background. The lighting is only overhead florescent. As a result he looks almost like he is in silhouette. I've been playing with the saturation, contrast and other levels a bit. But in order to get any kind of facial definition, the footage ends up getting very grainy and flat.
Any suggestions on how to correct for this? Is this more of a Final Cut problem? I'm using iMovie 11.

I agree that it will be difficult to correct this through color correction. I would suggest that you do the best you can, which might be to show the speaker in silhouette.
I would then enhance the video by using the Cutaway Feature. (also called B-Roll). So you could superimpose photos or other videos of the speaker, photos or videos of the topic, charts and graphs, keynote or powerpoint slides, etc. to provide viewer interest while the speaker continues talking underneath.
For more on Cutaway, see this Tutorial.

  • Do all functions on the apple watch function if worn by dark skinned individuals?

I am told that the Apple watch does not work well on tattooed and dark skin...is this true? Any persons of African or Asian ethnicity, please respond. thanks!

The prevailing theory seems to be that it works just fine regardless of your skin tone, but darker tattoo inks (which don't reflect light in the same way darker skin does) can cause some issues.
In short: someone with darker skin won't have issues, but someone with darker tattoos may.

  • LR 4.1 photos (still) MUCH darker than in PS CS5 - why?

Right: Photo in LR4.1, shown using Process 2010 to be compatible (as good as possible) with PS and ACR 6.7 (a switch to 2012 shows a difference regarding darkness, but not too much)
Left: Top the same photo opend via LR (it matches the LR version), bottom the same photo opend directly via PS. This bottom version is how it should look like IMO.
Photo is a Canon .CR2 RAW file. Of course all parameters for the RAW converting process are the same for LR and PS.
Screen is Eizo CG243W, hardware calibrated with the Eizo Color Navigator (coming with the monitor) and Spyder 4. Win7 64Bit, all currently Adobe Updates installed, no RC versions.
Simply ALL photos are shown way too dark in LR, not only RAWs but also jpgs. Photos match between PS and e.g. Firefox, which supports color management.
It is also clearly visible how different the histograms between the two open versions in PS look like:
    Dark version (opend via LR):
    Opend via PS directly:
No clou what to check anymore, and quite desperate already... it makes no sense to spend a lot of work to improve the photos in LR with high effort (and all drawbacks of going to the limits with Exposure etc.) if this is all only based on some wrong interpretation of LR, which it looks like to me...
Ah yes, I read about that LR cannot handle V4 ICC monitor profiles correctly, but I checked this, mine are V2.2, so this should be fine... but maybe still some incompatibility between the profiles produced by the ColorNavigator and LR!? I also found the other topics regarding similar problems here in the forum, but as we are already talking about LR4.1 final and ACR 6.7 for PS, it seems like the bugfix mentionend there did not solve this issue...
    Anybody any clou?
    Thanks!
    Klaus
UPDATE: OK, now it is getting really weird... I just saw that I opend the file with PS as 8 bit only, so I tried to do again with 16 bit. Result is that I now cannot reproduce my screenshot from above at all, no matter if using 8 or 16 bit - but what I can manage is to have the photo opend twice in PS, looking exactly the same, both 16 bit, but with totally different histograms!?

With Nikon raw files I can't reproduce what you're seeing.
I'm also using LR4 (.2RC in my case) and PS CS5.
Provided the raw file is set to PS2010 in LR, then it looks the same in LR as in CS5.  CS5 evaluates histograms differently, so they don't exactly compare - but the histogram in LR looks the same as the histogram in ACR.
Have you got LR, Catalog settings, Metadata tab, "Automatically write changes into XMP" checked?  If not, you need to right click the image in LR, select Metadata, then "Save metadata to file" to make sure the xmp data that ACR sees in the .xmp file is the same as the edit data LR sees.  And, as you say, set the process in LR to PS2010 or there may be slight differences, even though ACR6.7 is supposed to be able to read PV2012 files (in my experience, ACR6.7 does not render PV2012 files identically to LR4.2RC, or it didn't when I was using them last weekend).
Can't help you with the Spyder or Eizo kit - I have two different monitors both calibrated with a ColorMunki Display, set to create v2 profiles.  As everyone says, v4 profiles seem to be more trouble than they're worth.

  • Epson r1900 Prints too dark after upgrading to cs5 from cs3

Ok this one has got me stumped.  While still in photoshop CS3 my epson r1900 was printing photo's just fine.  After upgrading cs3 to Photoshop cs5  it now prints everything too blue.  Nothing else has changed. My monitor is still calibrated, my printer paper profiles are still the same, the only change was upgrading to cs5.  To me it looks all the world like ICM is being applied twice (in photoshop and the printer) but in photoshop I have selected "photoshop manages colors" just like I did in cs3, and in the print dialog box for the printer, I have selected no ICM again just like I did in CS3.  But now the prints come out with a, to my eye, dark blue tint.  Very very frusterating.  I have deleted the color prefs file and let that recreate, but that did not help either.  I am out of tricks.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Patrick

There were a lot of reports of "double profiling" with Epson printers when Photoshop CS5 was first released.  I believe many people were seeing magenta-looking prints at that time.
Unfortunately, I don't think there was ever a resolution or even a good workaround...  I recall at least one person bought a new printer to be able to continue to work.
Of course, double check to see whether Epson has released any updated printer drivers.
As I don't have an Epson myself, I can only suggest that you'll want to experiment with your settings to see if you can find a way to disable color management in the printer driver, so that only Photoshop does it - or disable color-management in Photoshop so that only the printer driver will do it.

  • Jpeg thumbnails too dark in CS5 bridge

All of a sudden my jpeg thumbnails appear very dark and muddy in CS5 bridge. Such images are of normal brightness when opened in Photoshop proper.
Equally puzzling is when a jpeg image is then "saved as" back to the same folder as a TIFF (for example) the jpeg looks dark but the TIFF version of the same file looks correct. RAW files still look correct.
This seems to be a recent problem as jpeg images I processed a few ago weeks ago still dislay normally in bridge.
I've tried purging the folder cache without effect. Thumbnail quality is set to "always high". I feel I may have accidentally altered a setting but cannot think wghat it might be. Please help.

Since my posting I have realised this problem is confined to images from the Nikon D800 camera ONLY. Jpegs from my other Nikon cameras display normally.
That does indeed not indicate to a cache problem alone. But you stated in your earlier post purging cache did solve the problem temporarily hence my idea about this solution.
I still think you should try to move the files to another new folder but you have provided us with very less detail about what computer, systemOS etc you are using and if you have the correct ACR version for support of your Nikon D800 which I believe is ACR 6.7 (in Photoshop use menu Photoshop / about Plug ins / Camera Raw to check which version you have.
Just to say I shoot RAW and batch convert to sRGB jpeg from ACR. It doesn't matter what size option I save to from ACR.
I don't follow this workflow, shooting Raw provides you with all details and data from your sensor but you need to go through them for fine tuning the settings. Shooting jpeg means you loose a lot of those details and let the camera software decide to fine tune for you (in a nutshell, it is a bit more complicated…)
Shooting Raw and without change settings and fine tune just convert these files to sRGB jpeg is in my opinion pointless. You better use the option to shoot Raw + jpeg and use the jpegs out of camera for this purpose.

  • How do you get the same skin wrinkles to match all the different Ethnicity?

Hello! this is my first time posting a question in this forum, hopefully there will be some clever people out there who can help me!
I have a wrinkled eye texture (see below)
How do I digitally manipulate it so that i can use this same texture to on top of other photos so that it fits/blends well with people of different ethnic origins?
my aim is to make poeple looking older using the same texture.
    So far I've tried:
    - Making the texture black and white and use different filters, but it doesnt work on all the different skin colours and it doesnt look real.
    - Using Multiply filter after adjusting the original texture - that seems to work well except on people with darker skin, then the wrinkles are just too dark.
I would like to know if anyone knows a simple way where i can make this texture works on all skin colours, with out going in and adjusting the wrinkle texture one by one according to each individual.
hope my question isnt too confusing. any suggestions will be greatly appriciated!!

Here is the texture I've been manipulating  all afternoon to try and achieve the looks i want.
and when I put this texture over the top of other images and select Multiply, and adjusted the opacity, this is what i get....
Now this kinda works?? but it still looks not as good on an asian person.
Thanks by the way to everyone for all the tips, I really really appriciate it   and more suggestions for improvments are welcome!

  • Results are different when printing from CS5 and CS4

A file that printed fine with Photoshop CS 4 printed very dark when printed with CS5, with no changes made to the settings. Has anyone else had this problem?

RE: "You don't indicate what Xerox printers you have"
In my first post I named it, is that the information you need?
    Docucolor 3535 using Splash 3535
That's interesting, so I have to find a way to turn off the printer's Color Management function? I mailed them, hope they can tell me how to do it easily. They usually just tell me to not use any profiles and so on, but that's the general rule in this area, I'm really tired of hearing it. Everybody seems to think profiles and LAB mode are nuclear science and I should stay away from it.
Anyway, the test image I'm using is a simple photograph (size A3, 300dpi), so no transparencies at all. I'm placing this image into an equally large ID file and print it from ID, then export it to PDF-X/3 and print it from Acrobat. Hope that helps.

  • Bug? Can change swatches with arrow keys?

I use the Live Paint option and the Live Paint bucket often.  It is really convenient to change the swatch I am using by using the left-right arrow keys to change my swatch chosen in the Swatch Palette.  But in CS6, if I am doing so, and the next swatch chosen is a percentage tint of another color (for example, I have a swatch Blue, and a swatch Blue 85%, which is the Blue Swatch tinited to 85% in the color palette and then made into a saved swatch), the "select" box around the swatch disappears, and I can no longer change the swatch choice without re-clicking on it.
I can change easily between swatches that are not percentages of the original, with no problem.  CS5 and all earlier versions that had this feature had no problem whatsoever.
    Huh????

All swatches are CMYK creations by me, then I choose Global.  So, I get swatches called things like, Skin Dark, Skin Med, Skin Light.  Then, I want something a tint of one of these. So in the color Palette with a Swatch chosen, I slide tint to say 50%. Then I make a new swatch ("Skin Light 50%", global). Using the arrow keys, when I get to this new % swatch, it deselects, and I can't "scroll" through the swatches, as the "white outline" selection disappears and the swatch selection stays on this % swatch.

  • Macbook Pro retina + Samsung LED 24" external monitor

Hi all, I just bought Macbook Pro 13.3" Retina and im having some troubles.
When I connect those two via VGA adapter I see some strange artifact effect on external monitor.
I dont know hot to name that artifact but it is the same thing that you can see when you take your camera or smartphone and try to record old tv screen for example. You will see that parallel lines goes up or down. This effects is easy to notice when you put something with dark background on external monior (like Unity3D Pro IDE with dark skin in my case).
    The interesting things are:
    - when I switch external monitor from VGA adapter connection to HDMI-HDMI then everything works fine with no artifacts.
    - when I'm using VGA adapter and connect Macbook Pro to another external monitor (AOC 24" LCD) then everything works ok aswell.
    - when I take my Samsung LED monitor and connect it to another PC (Windows 8) with VGA everything works great.
So I belive that this issue is related to all three of them (MacbookPro + Sasmung LED + VGA adapter) and I really dont know who to blame and what to do.
Dose anyome have an idea how to solve this and what to do?]
    thanks

    Hi luisvf7,
So it seems you are having issues with your MacBook Pro not displaying properly on your external display. It does sound like a frustrating situation. Let’s see if we can get you up and running.
I would suggest that you use the steps in this article to troubleshoot the problem -

  • Problems with colors running CS4 and W7.

    Hey everyone.
I'm having some MASSIVE problems with colors on my system.
    Windows 7 Prof 64bit
    Photoshop CS4 64bit
    6g Ram
    1T hard drive
    Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+
    Dell SE198WFP Monitor
The system itself is a Dell Inspiron 530 that I put into a Black Widow V9 gaming tower.
Here is an example of the issue I'm having:
    http://findae.deviantart.com/art/Converge-101214480
    http://i38.tinypic.com/bjcymr.jpg
The top image is a (admittedly old and crappy, but it shows the problem) photo that I had previously edited and put in my portfolio. The tinypic below is the result of copying that photo from the portfolio, pasting it into photoshop, and then saving it into a jpg. As you can see, the transitions between colors and the contrast are a complete mess.
Thing is, my hard drive recently quit on me, and I had to install the operating system and such on a new drive. I remember having this problem with the system when I first had it, but it either went away on its own or I fixed it somehow before. Now I can't remember for the life of me how I got rid of the problem, and I certainly don't know what the problem is in the first place. I'm tempted to think it may not be photoshop itself, but the problem seems to be especially bad when I'm working with photos.
Anyone have any idea what the problem might be and how to solve it?
Edit: I also noticed it when viewing http://findae.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d1hni37 in firefox, whereas the other photo appeared to be ok before I copied and pasted it. It has extremely obvious lines of green and orange in the transition from light skin tone to dark skin tone. Annoyingly enough, this doesn't show up in the thumbnail within my gallery at all, only when I click on the thumbnail and see the fullsize image. Extremely frustrating.
Here's another good look at the problem while selecting a color in photoshop: http://i37.tinypic.com/2h6t7gh.jpg  All I did was screenshot it a few times, and it deteriorated to that point.

Screen glitches like color blocks appearing where they shouldn't could indicate a problem with your video drivers.
Go to the nVidia site and see if they've released any updated drivers; people often report that updated drivers are correcting current problems with Photoshop.

  • Photosmart C6180 - colors and brightness incorrect

    Hi,
I'm having quite a problem with that printer. I cannot obtain correct colours on the print-outs. Black and White photos are too dark, skin tones on color prints are reddish, dark greys have brown tint, etc. I've tried both - color management by the printer and by the Photoshop. Probably the issue is caused by wrong calibration of that printer but simply I do not know how to overcome it. When I print from PS, I apply the same profile as my monitor has (Adobe RGB). The rest of the gear is OK and correctly calibrated - Epson V700 scanner and EIZO 2433W monitor.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
