Dark Video From Media Encoder

Imported quicktime video is dark in encoder. It makes no difference what format, codec or anything else I select in the format screen. When I view the quicktime file side by side with the preview and final encoded video the Adobe file is darker. My system is a Mac 8 core with HD 5770 video card and Blackmagic decklink card to output on external monitor. The video is exported from Avid Media Composer using quicktime prores codec 1080I although any quicktime file no matter where it comes from is dark in encoder.

Have you checked the output in AME? I always check that before I hit go to make sure that I haven't fouled something up and that the in and out points are what I want. I spot check all along the timeline.
I'm thinking that you have some parts of the Premiere Pro project that are shots or sequences that have been "Replaced with After Effects Composotion." If this is the case, does the blackness happen in one of these shots? If it does I'd suggest trying to render that shot in AE and replace it in the PPro Timeline. If After Effects is really crashing you'll be able to find out why.
A little more detail about your project would also help.

  • Exporting video from media encoder. Half of the video export other half goes blank/black

Hi! I'm in need of help I've been trying to export this video to media encoder for about 20days now. I'm working with premiere pro cs5.5 and after effects cs5.5-
Dynamic link, I've updated the two and everything, every time I try to export my video half willl export and I believe after effects crashes and thats when the other
half of the video goes blank/black, this happens everytime, it's very frustrating and I don't know what is causing this. it actually just started.
it also does this on cs5 as well.

  • How to output from media encoder to camcorder via firewire?

I am using CS5.5 media encoder to output edited hi def footage from premiere as DV widescreen to sony FX 1 camcorder via firewire.
How do I route the output from media encoder to the firewire output?
This is the same camera I use for acqusition & import into premiere via firewire.
Media Encoder appears to be encoding the footage properly.
Thanks in advance for any help.

How do I route the output from media encoder to the firewire output?
You don't--or can't, rather. You'd need to use Premiere Pro for this. Check this help page for details: Exporting to videotape

    Nonsense.
Apple Compressor has been doing wmf exports for a decade. I have the Quicktime export components from Telestream and they appear as presets in Compressor. They should be available in Media Encoder or they should be importable. Adove apparently refuses to see them. Still trying to figure that out.

  • CS6 Encore requiring a second encode of H264 BluRay from media encoder

Have noticed that when I encode an H264 file in Blu-Ray for encore, that when I try to build the DVD I get a message that the file is not proessed.  If I go back to media encoder and reprocess the existing H264 file, Encore will then accept it.  I think this is a bug, but in bug report, no option for Media Encoder.  this has happened on 4 seperate occassions since I downloaded th latest Adobe CS6 updates.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    thx...Jim Watt

    Hi John,
Thanks for the reply.  the file i'm atrtempting to use in Encore is an .mp4v file from media encoder, which is, I think the same file type i've used successfully in the past.  When I re-encode the file has the same extension, but it will work.  I perceive this is a new issue with the latest update of CS6.  I've not encountered this issue before the update.
    Thx...jw

  • How to create alpha videos now FLV / F4V support dropped from Media encoder

Now that Media encoder has dropped support for FLV / F4V has anyone got any ideas how you would create a video with an alpha channel for use in flash professional. With flash professional only really supporting the H.264 CODEC, I can't see any way possible to use transparent videos now.  I'm currently having to resort to installing an old version of media encoder to get back access to FLV.  Does anyone have any other thoughts on how I could achieve this using the latest software.

    Hi Preran,
Can you clarify why the Alpha channel video option has been removed?
There's all sorts of reasons why people still need FLV, in our case its the video format we use with Aurasma to be able to have animated text on a transparent background in an AR environment....
Why oh why would you just remove the option when h264 clearly doesn't replace all of FLVs features?

  • Encore insists on transcoding a transcoded video file from media encoder

I've authored a bunch of Blu Ray and SD DVD's in Encore and once in awhile as in right now Encore insists on trnascoding a Blu Ray file that i already transcoded for Encore in Media Encoder on my MacPro which is running CC 7.1.  Anyone have any ideas how to solve this little, but frustrating time consuming issue?
    thx...jw
MacBook Pro (Mid 2009) 2.8 GHz Core 2 Duo
    Ram 8 GB
    Premier CS6.05
    Encore CS 6.05

It seems reasonable since Encore is supposedly not affected by CC updates since Adobe considers DVD's dead technology, though I really would like to meet the misguided soul who sold that, concept, that the only program affected would be media encoder.
That's why I thought I could encode on my cs6 MacPro running Snow Leopard and the encode on mt laptop running cc7.1.  I did a test on my Snow leopard CS6 system in Encore and it worked just like it is supposed to, so that's where I'll do my DVD/BluRay work .
Though this concept of the cloud and fast updates seems like a great idea, I think what is happening is that those of us "in the trenches" making our living using these programs are now the beta testers for the programs that should have been beta tested before reaching the market.  In Adobe's rush to release they're skipping beta testing.  We're it!
Red frames in Premier Pro;  direct to Speedgrade crashing; external monitor in Speedgrade not functional on release....just to name a couple I've encountered.  Adobe techs are not the problem it's Adobe management rush to market culture which is causing the problems.
I really appreciate and admire the Adobe tech staff who are trying to make this work under unconscionable pressure and unreasonable demands by their misguided management team.
    Sorry for the rant.
    Thx....Jim Watt

Can't for the life of me encode a video from Premiere Pro, it throws an error pointing to "PProHeadless.exe." The encoder will stay active and allow me queue the file, but nothing happens for a long time, and then it crashes with a Dynamic Link error. Nothing gets me out of it -- I have to force restart the Encoder. Anyone experience similar behavior?

I go through Premiere Pro CS4 and tell it to export in that format (I've tried both internal hard drives and an external hard drive as export locations), Adobe Media Encoder 4.0.1.078 opens and pauses before the error message appears. The sequence's status is then "Waiting", but nothing else happens when I click "Start Queue" with the exception of the same error message appearing. This is my first time trying to export a sequence using CS4, but I've done it many times successfully with CS3 and FCP 6. I've tried reinstalling CS4 and I updated all drivers only a few weeks ago.
Also, the one video clip I'm using as my source-video is a 13GB+ file. It was never broken into shorter segments.

  • Open video with Media Encoder on a mac

This may be a super easy noob style question, but here goes.
I'm on a MacPro running OSX 10.9.4, Adobe CC 2014. Whenever I need to convert a video file using Media Converter, I'll right click the file in finder and go to "open with", and can't get finder to recognize AME as a recommended application. It's not a huge deal, because I can select "all applications" instead of just "recommended applications", but that is just such a pain in the buns. Is there any way to get OSX to recognize AME as a "recommended application?" Like I said, not the end of the world by any means and I'm probably just derping up and being a noob, but if anybody knows I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

  • Big problems exporting a video in Media Encoder - detailed info

Problems with exporting media through Adobe Media Encoder.
Hi there.  I am really confused now, writing this, cause my Premiere CS4 has worked pretty good the year I have had it.
So it has chosen a really bad timing to cause me problems.
I am working on a big musicvideo production. The whole video is now finished, and the labels and the artists are waiting for the video. But I’m facing big problems now. And I have tried everything to solve this, without succeeding.
    ·         When I export the video, the Adobe Media Encoder sometimes waits and waits and waits and waits, and nothing happens.
    Screen shot:
    ·         When it does start, if goes to about 20%, and then it interrupts and give me "an unknown" error in the log-file:
    Screen shot:
    ·         Sometimes when I open the project , it gives me the following message when importing the media files.
    Screen shot:
    ·         The weird thing is that this only happens to the HD version. I have the same video in DV version, in a DV project, and it exports without any problem.
So PLEASE help me here, what shall I do??? I MUST finish this video!

And here is my log-file with all the attempts I've tried with different settings...

  • Getting red noise on all my exports from media encoder.

I have had CS4 for a while now on PC. It has worked great until recently. Everything I export out of premier via media encoder gets this quick random red stamp looking noise that flashes periodically through my video. I have been exporting AVI, and I can't remember if it has happened while exporting any other format. I have included a frame from my video of what it looks like. Any suggestions?

    Brad,
To restate what you have said - and to make sure I'm on the right page with you:
You have two types of Assets: MOV raw, Captured in FCP and Lagarith AVI Exported from AE. Both play fine outside of PrPro (.MOV's slightly pixelated in QT Player) and both Import and play fine within PrPro. The problems come, when you Export from PrPro. Is this correct?
As a test, have you tried other Export schemes from PrPro, such as DV-AVI? This is only as a test, as it will obviously not be what you ultimately need.
    Just curious. Good luck,
    Hunt
[Edit] going back to the OP, I see that it has been an Export as .AVI (which AVI CODEC?), that seems to have caused this. Can you try maybe an MPEG-2 Export?

Hi, I am exporting a video made in AE CC 2014 with several plugins, into Media Encoder CC 2014. When I try to render the video in Media Encorder at H.264, at 720PX in an MP4. The video renders but does not show any of the plugins that I had used. Any advice?

  • Why Isn't Flash Professional CC Allowing Me To Export My Video To Media Encoder CC?

    Hi,
I am hoping that someone would be able to help...
I made a couple of flash animations using the Adobe Flash Professional program that I am trying to piece together into a 30-second commercial in Adobe Premiere Pro.  The problem though is every time I go to export the video it'll save it in a .MOV file and then fail to export to Adobe Media Encoder.  The error message that I keep getting is the following:
Does Adobe Media Encoder not currently support .MOV files?   Does anyone know how to fix this.   I would really appreciate it a lot.  Please don't hesitate to let me know if you need more information about the issue.  Thanks!!!
    Sincerely,
    Bobby ~
P.S.:  I Am Very New To All Of This Adobe Stuff!!!

You may need to set the wmode value in a couple of places depending on your embedding code, so be sure to find them all.

  • Timewarp effect not applied when rendered from Media encoder CC

The timewarp effect (enabled using console veiw in PPRO CC) does nothing to footage when rendered through Media encoder...
It does however render when not sending it to the queue, and rendering straight from PPRO.

    Fair enough,
Just hoping to raise attention of this...as I believe this should be a normal supported feature of PP as it once was back in CS3 days.....
Normal frame blending interpolation doesn't really cut it, and round tripping to AE is overkill for something already built into PPro....
But at least it's in there in some form

  • FLV gone from Media Encoder - which formats work on iOS anymore?

The withdrawal of the FLV format has thoroughly confused me. FLV is the only video format I've ever succesfully worked with in AIR apps on iOS. MP4, MOV etc. - all these formats never played when I tested them on iOS devices. Only FLV. I know that StageVideo gives some more options, but my question is:
With FLV getting phased out, which video format options will work in AIR apps for iOS (without using StageVideo) at this point?

I run CS6 at home, but I talked with one of the IT guys at work and he told me that if you have a CC account, you should still be able to download CS6 versions of Adobe applications. If that is true (and not just a corporate account thing), you could download the CS6 version of Media Encoder and use that if you needed to still be able to create FLV files. But if you wanted to give H.264 another try, there numerous preset encoding options under the H.264 encoding type for Apple devices that you could try as an alternative to FLV. In my experience with videos, you're going to get a better quality video anyway at a smaller file size using H.264.
