Hallo,
seit der Umstellung auf Windows 7 funktioniert die Erstellung von PDFs aus E-Mails nicht mehr korrekt. Das PDF wird wie folgt angezeigt:
Eine Reparatur und ein Deinstallieren mit anschließender Neuinstallation brachte leider keinen Erfolg.
Wer kann mir helfen?

Unser Mailprogramm ist David. Wir erstellen PDFs aus bei uns eingegangenen Mails, die entweder HTML oder reine Text-Mails sein können. Bei beiden Formaten tritt das Problem gleichermaßen auf. Wo kann ich feststellen, welches Encoding im Mailprogramm eingestellt ist?

Hi liebe Acrobat-Community,
mich beschäftigt leider seit mehreren Tagen ein Problem, dass auch der Chat-Support von Adobe nicht lösen konnte und zwar:
Ich kann mit der Funktion "PDF erstellen" aus Acrobat heraus keine Word 2013-Dateien in PDFs umwandeln. Mit dem PDF Maker direkt aus Word heraus funktioniert alles einwandfrei. Andere Dateitypen (Excel, Bilder, Webseiten) kann ich problemlos zu PDFs wandeln.
Darüberhinaus bekomme ich noch folgende Fehlermeldung (Screenshot):
Der dort angegebenen Lösungsweg funktioniert nicht - wenn ich die Anwendung öffne, schaut die mich nur scheinheilig an und weiß nichts von Sicherheitswarnungen (wo stelle ich die Sicherheitsstufe ein?).
Folgende Dinge habe ich geprüft:
PDF Maker Add-in in Word 2013 aktiv --> Ja
Makro-Einstellung im Trustcenter --> "alle Makros außer digital signierten Makros deaktivieren" ist ausgewählt / Adobe ist nicht in Liste "Vertrauenwürdige Hersteller" aufgeführt (hier hatte ich aber auch schon mit der Einstellung "alle Makros aktivieren" keinen Erfolg
Ich kann leider so Acrobat nicht ordentlich nutzen: Weder PDFs aus Word erstellen, noch Dateien in PDF zusammenführen, noch Portfolien erstellen, noch Formulare aus Word erstellen etc.
Weiß jemand Rat?

PeterOh doch, Office 2003 ist kompatibel mit Acrobat 11! (Compatible web browsers and PDFMaker applications). Nur der Support wurde inzwischen eingestellt.
Sonderbar ist eben, dass ich aus xls.-Dateien eine pdf.-Datei anlegen kann. Auch kann ich in Outlook einzelne "Aufgaben" anklicken (Word öffnet sich danach), resp. kann ich von hier aus problemlos eine pdf.-Datei erstellen.

Die neue Acrobat Version wird unter anderem damit beworben, dass es unter Beibehaltung der Layoutstile möglich sei, ein Pdf in eine Excel-Datei zu konvertieren.
Ich habe mir diese Funktion für einen Kunden zu Nutze machen wollen: Tabellen wurden in InDesign erstellt, diese als pfd-Datei ausgegeben und die pdf-Datei als eine Microsoft-Excel-Arbeitsmappe abgespeichert.
Das Ergebnis ist auch mit viel Wohlwollen leider völlig unbrauchbar und kann ohne weitere Bearbeitung nicht vom Kunden verwendet werden: von "Beibehaltung der Layoutstile" kann absolut keine Rede sein.
Kann es sein, dass diese neue Funktion von Windows optimaler unterstüzt wird, als von Mac OS X?Na das hat wohl mit der Platform nix zu tun, eher ein Fall von "wo nix ist, kommt nix hin". Hab's zwar nie selber probiert, aber ich denke mal eher, dass das Feature so gemeint ist, das von Excel nach PDF konvertierte Tabellen mit erträglichem Aufwand zurückkonvertiert werden können, weil in der PDF dann die Datenobjekte entsprechend strukturiert angeordnet sind und möglicherweise sogar zusätzliche Daten vorhanden sind. Fällt natürlich bei InDesign-Tabellen alles unter'n Tisch. Oder anders ausgedrückt: Wo keine logische Struktur, da keine Tabelle und da sich ein Layoutprogramm nun mal primär auf's Hübschaussehen konzentriert, egal welche komischen Verschachtelungen von Elementen dazu notwendig sind, sollte man hier keine Wunder erwarten....

I have installed Acrobat DC, and would like to combine 2 files. One is excel allready converted to PDF - No problem. The other one is from Pastel mailed as PDF.

I can understand your concern, however can you please let me know that are you able to open both the PDF files ( the one you converted form excel to pdf & the other pdf that was mailed to you ) individually without using any password?
As it asks for the password, it means that the postal mailed PDF is password protected. You can ask for the password from the sender of the postal mail & then try to combine the files.

This will probably resolve your issue.

I cannot open a .pdf in an incoming mail (Outlook 2010) with Acrobat Pro XI. It will only allow "preview". I have to copy and paste the .pdf to my desktop and then open it. I have seen this issue occur with users who have this registry setting missing or have improper permissions.
When you double click the attachment to launch the pdf it is saved and opened from the temporary folder unless saved specifically to a location.
If you dont have the below mentioned registry key or improper permissions then attachments fail to open.
Please heck if the following reg key exists:

I need this functionality. Adobe PDF doesn't appear in the printer list as it did on my windows laptop. I need to be able to print to the PDF "size" of 8.5 by 11 to shrink files down for e-mail. My workflow usually goes like this: I import all the pictures or create a PDF from multiple files (pictures), I then put them in order and then print to PDF, two pictures to a page. I can take a 50MB file down to a 1MB file this way. Makes it easy to view on smartphones and the like.
Is this functionality still broken in Acrobat 11? Did I just waste my money? This was the only reason I bought the latest version - It wouldn't work on 9 Pro either.

JonThanks Tony. That is exactly the functionality I am not getting from the current product on Mac.
You can get a much better looking result that takes up way less space and opens faster for the end user by printing a PDF as a PDF and controlling the size of the PDF image. I can take - for instance, 6 or 7 10MP pictures and create a PDF out of them. The PDF will be 25MB or so. I can print that as a PDF which will allow me to put two pictures per page - and that file will be about 1 MB. No crappy looking images, just much smaller size and multiple images per page.
It's a workflow I have used for years on PC. Everyone keeps saying just save it as a PDF using the Mac print "save as PDF" functionality but that doesn't accomplish the same thing and you can not control how many pages to print on to each new page of your PDF.
I find it misleading that I saw a web page on Adobe's site that shows you can print as a PDF and it says you can print as a PDF on Mac and that is NOT the case. Print to PDF Windows 7, Vista, XP, Mac | Adobe Acrobat XI Infuriating.
I have tried to optimize a PDF with 6 or 7 images and it just doesn't do the same thing. It wont reduce the size as much as I need, cuts it in half - but not down to a small fraction for being an e-mail attachment. I'm using XI Pro. Researched this for about 3 hours and it is not functionality that can be used on a Mac.
I even tried printing as a PDF in Parallels on XP with another licensed version of Acrobat Pro and it still wont let you. You would have to probably dual boot your machine to get the functionality by running windows flat out on the Mac with a separate Licensed copy of the software.
It amazes me that Adobe can't figure this out or make amends with Apple to get the functionality back into Acrobat. -
Printing Problem in Mail and PDF
Whenever I open a Mail or PDF then choose print, the loading icon keep loading and loading... till 5-10 mins.and slow down other application. I never have this problem untill i installed OSX10.5.2. no matter I updated my adobe acrobat. IT's serious problem. Apple please get me 10.5.3 to fix the problem !!!
Apple suggested us to lower the image to print more faster. But my mail contains text only and still loading for few minutes.. How to fix? Apple get me help!!!!

Photoshop: Darstellung von farbindizierten GIF´s
Bei der Darstellung von indizierten GIF´s zeigt Photoshop (Versionsunabhängig) nicht die korrekte Datei an. Auch der notwendige Wechsel auf RGB oder CMYK- Modus ändert nichts an diesem Kuriosum. Dabei geht es insbesondere um Farbverläufe, die PS "unterschlägt" und somit falsch darstellt. Öffnet man dieselbe Datei in anderen Grafikprogrammen wie z.B. Paint Shop Pro, ACDsee oder im simplen MS Photoeditor wird die Datei korrekt dargestellt. Weil ich mich aber an PS so schön gewöhnt habe, möchte ich ganz gerne mit PS weiterarbeiten. Stelle betreffende Datei auch gerne per mail zur Verfügung. Lösungsidee???

ich soll im Rahmen meiner Diplomarbeit ein PDF aus einem Quelltext (c++) generieren, ein einfaches "Hello World" würde mir da schon reichen.
Kann mir da jemand weiterhelfen?? Gibt es irgendwo Beispiele dazu wie man ein PDF aus einem Quelltext erstellt??

Ich empfehle die früheste Variante, ganz unten. Damit habe ich mal innerhalb von einer Woche etwas ähnliches gebaut, bloss in einer anderen Sprache (SQL), in C++ dürfte es schneller gehen.
Tips: für die 13 Basisfonts kann man sich die Streams usw. ersparen. Dann wird das Thema wirklich überschaubar.
Wenn man für sowas ein Diplom bekommt, wo muss ich mich dann melden? Oder steckt da noch mehr dahinter?

XML-Darstellung von InDesign-Dateien
Hallo zusammen,
unter Zuhilfenahme des Kapitels XML aus SelfHTML und der doch eher geringen Offlinehilfe von InDesign CS2 bin ich dabei, mich in das Thema XML und automatisierte Erstellung von HTML-Seiten aus InDesign-Dateien einzuarbeiten.
Ich habe eine DTD für die IND-Datei erstellt und ich habe eine XSL erstellt und die aus IND erhaltene XML mit den entsprechenden Hinweisen auf DTD und XSL versehen. Die Anzeige im IE klappt auch soweit, nur die Darstellung von Fotos macht mir Probleme.
Für Fotos werden von IND automatisch bei der Erstellung der XML href-Tags sowohl auf die formatierten als auch auf die Originalbilder vergeben.

Lt. SelfHTML werden aber entsprechend HTML src-Tags zur Anzeige von Bildern benötigt.

- warum ist die XML aus IND nicht strukturiert sondern ein mehr oder weniger fortlaufender Text
Ich hoffe, ich konnte mein Problem verständlich darlegen und würde mich über Hilfe und Tipps freuen.

das letzte BackUp war am 9.11, ein Tag vor der Neuinstallation. Auch hier sind die Dateien bereits in mutierten Zustand drin. Ein älteres BackUp gibt es in der Time Maschine nicht. Früher hatte ich immer ganz viele Daten zur Auswahl, heute gibt es wohl nur noch das letzte BackUp. Keine Ahnung, ob sich das regulär verändert hat oder es damit zusammenhängt, dass sich so viele Daten (600 Gigabyte; frei sind 392 Gigabyte) auf der externen Festplatte "My Book" befinden. -
Is there any way to "Print to PDF" from Acrobat?
In Windows, you can open a PDF in Acrobat and print it to a PDF. This isn't behavior isn't available in the Mac version—trying to use "Save as PDF" and "Save as Adobe PDF" both produce the following error message:
Saving a PDF file when printing is not supported. Instead, choose File > Save.
Is there any way to print to a PDF from Acrobat Pro X on a Mac (running Snow Leopard)?
Note: There's a utility to being able to print from a PDF to PDF (which I why I suspect it's available in the Windows version), so "You're doing it wrong—just Click File > Save" would not be a very helpful response. I'm sure there are other uses for the functionality, but in my case in particular I need to split each page of a scanned PDF in which each page contains two pages of the original document. Printing to a PDF provides an easy way to do this, but I'm open to a more appropriate solution if it's available.
Any ideas?

what you need is to go to document and choose Remove (delete) pages (if it’s a duplicate Page)

Exporting multiple e-mails as .pdf
I'm responsible for coordinating a multi-author, book-writing project and I've been asked to store all e-mail correspondences in a fashion that allows all of the authors and project managers to access the e-mails. I have a shared folder set up on my Google drive that allows all the users to access shared files which is working fantastically, but I can't find a way to export large quantities of e-mails at the same time that also works for Google drive.
After a quick Google search I found this site which provided instructions on how to install this set of scripts which allowed me to archive my selected e-mails as .rtf files with their attachments. It works great and allows me to customize the naming of the files to allow other authors to easily locate a specific e-mail. It names each file "From %f to %t - %s - %M %d, %Y.rtf" where %t is the recipient, %f is the sender, %s is the subject/thread topic and %M %d, %Y is Month day, year (eg To John Smith from Jane Doe - Book Project - December 12, 2012.rtf).
Unfortunately, after uploading the folder containing all these .rtf files I found out that .rtf can't be viewed on Google and must be downloaded then opened on the user's computer. To fix this I tried having Google automatically convert the files to Google docs as it uploaded the files, but this didn't work and even if it did I fear the files would lose their attachments.
I then tried searching for scripts that would allow me to change all of the .rtf files to .pdf. I found and tried a few, but they all had problems (the script would only operate on pre Mountain Lion, the requires Word for Mac, etc.)
Then I tried finding a script that would work like the first successful one, but export the files as .pdf rather than .rtf. I couldn't find anything, but found an article that reminded me I could print to .pdf from mail ("Save as PDF..." in the system print window). I tried doing this, but after 'printing' the first of all the e-mails an error box pops up and no more e-mails 'print.' If I "Open PDF in Preview" I can successfully save all of the e-mails as .pdf, but their file names are all Preview of "<e-mail subject>".pdf which isn't helpful because nearly all correspondences in the group have a subject like "Book" or "Book Project" meaning it'd be impossible to determine which e-mail is which by the .pdf filename.
I feel like their are a lot of different routes I can take to solve this problem, I just need help finding the components:
1. Use the first successful script to export as .rtf, then use another script to convert them to .pdf. This would be the best because it will allow me to use a useful filenaming system. To do this I need a script that can convert .rtf to .pdf on my system.
2. Find a script like the first, successful script I used that allows me to export the e-mails as a .pdf using the subject, to/from, etc. as the filename.
3. Open PDF in Preview, save, then use a script to rename all the files by extracting the subject, to/from and date from the .pdfs. To do this I need a script that can find the subject, etc. in the .pdf and use that data to change the file name. (I highly doubt such a script exists and I don't have the script-writing skills to create one myself.)
4. Any other solution that allows me to take a lot of e-mails from my Mail app and upload them to my Google drive while maintaining attachments and generating logical filenames.
5. Any other solution that makes it possible for me to make correspondences available for all authors to access (keeping in mind that cross-platform compatibility is essential).
Suggestions?I found your first suggestion while doing a Google search. That post was made in mid-2011, almost a year before Mountain Lion released. Apple changed the way scripts work in Mountain Lion and this script no longer works.
As far as I can tell, the second solution only works for printing one e-mail to a .pdf at a time and doesn't support batch filenaming. -
I am trying to drag and drop one page of a .pdf into another .pdf in Acrobat Reader. I used to be able to drag and drop from one .pdf to another.
If you could drag and drop pages before, it wasn't in Reader. You no doubt had Adobe Acrobat (Pro or Standard) which shouldn't be confused with Adobe Acrobat Reader. They recently added Acrobat to the name of Adobe Reader so the confusion about which product you had and/or have is understandable.

When I try to save a form as “Reader Extended PDF” in Acrobat Pro, I get an error message “This document could not be reader enabled”.
The steps I’m following are described below:
1. Insert electronic signatures
- In Tasks, click on “Add New Field -> Digital Signature”.
- Move the square to the place where you want to put the signature and click.
- Fill in the “field name” with the name of the person who has to sign here.
- When it is done, click anywhere on the screen.
- In Tasks, click on “Close Form editing”.
- Go to menu “File -> Save as -> Reader Extended PDF ->Enable additional features”, click on “Save now”.
- Fill in the file name and click on “Save”.
2. Save the Form
- In Tasks, click on “Close Form editing”.
- Go to menu “File -> Save as -> Reader Extended PDF ->Enable additional features”, click on “Save now”.
- Fill in the file name and click on “Save”.
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.0.0 on a W7 workstation

Have you tried to upgrade IE to 10. I would suggest to install latest updates to IE and upgrade to 10 and check the issue again.
