"Dashboard Advisory" in Keychains/System Keychain?

I've just noticed something in Keychains, System Keychain, called +Dashboard Advisory+, issued by +Dashboard Advisory CA+. It reads, +Expires: Tuesday, April 29,2036 2:09 PM America/New York.+
*Below that in red there is: +This certificate was signed by an unknown authority+*
(I also have X509Anchors in Keychains. But there, in green, unlike the Dashboard Advisory, it is, more reassuringly, written, +this certificate is valid+)
Can anyone tell me, please, what this is and if it is legitimate?
(A short Google search seems to turn up something about a Daemon phoning home to Apple re. Dashboard Widgets (installed after the 10.4.7 Update), but I'm not sure this is what I have, and I certainly don't understand why, then, it was "signed by an unknown authority."

  • Keychain 'Dashboard Advisory' Security Certificate

I setup a new iMac for my wife this past weekend and noticed a System Keychain entry that I have not seen before. I think this certificate works with the dashboardadvisoryd.plist phoning home to check and verify dashboard widgets. I have two questions: 1. Is this Dashboard Advisory Security Certificate legit? 2. Why does this certificate not show up on my Macbook; I have not deleted any system certs.
Both computers are running Leopard 10.5.8.
What is strange is the certificate appears to be signed by an unknown authority.

I just read somewhere that it was a "security" feature for widgets because of widgets 3rd party nature and the potential for being duped into downloading bad/malicious software. Do the computers widgets differ any? I'm getting the same thing in my keychain and it has me a little unnerved, but i did download iStat Pro so that could be where it came from for me. Hope maybe this info helps you

  • Dashboard on Flat File system

    Hi Experts,
Requirement: To develop a dashboard on flat files, where every 15 days a new flat file will be saved in a particular directory.
Is there any possibility to develop a dashboard on multiple flat files (because every 15 days new file is adding in a directory)?
Can any one explain what is the best approach for such requirements.
    Thanks Regards
    Ramakrishna Kamurthy

    Hi Ramakrishna,
unfortunately there is no way that you can dynamically change the settings and/or amount of data sources in Xcelsius. You will have to merge those flat files into one (e.g. from your source system).

They have a video on youtube for the csv connector::

  • Two Keychains for System & other Keychain questions

I noticed that in the Keychains pane of Keychain Access there are two keychains for "System". They are separated by a keychain called "X509Anchors".
The two System keychains appear to have exactly the same items: AirPort network passwords and a "Dashboard Advisory" certificate.
Any reason I need two identical System keychains?
    Also:
    1. Can you rename a keychain?
    2. Can you re-order the list of keychains?
    Thanks.
    - Winston

I was having the same appearance of 2 System keychains on my MacBookPro and never realized why (it was not on the other machines). Today when searching the web for some other problem I found somewhere: if you open keychain access and go to the Edit menu you find an item called "Keychain List". If you click on it a drop-down sheet opens where you can choose between "User" and "Mac OS X (System)". Under "User" you get the keychains which are listed for you. There I had my login keychain, 1Password keychain (that's from a third party application), and System keychain (with a checked box in the Shared column). Now I was brave: I highlighted the System keychain and clicked on the minus sign in the left corner (I thought this may just have an effect on the listing itself, without deleting the keychain). The very same time one of both System keychains in the Keychain pane disappeared. I closed Keychain Access, opened it again and went to Keychain list. Now there is again a shared "System" keychain visible, but on the Keychain pane there is still only one listed!

  • Keychain First Aid screwed up my keychain

I ran Keychain First Aid, and it said there were problems with a few of the email passwords as no port was specified. I ran repair and my entire list of keychain items disappeared. The user file still exists, and when I viewed it in a text editor, the original keychain items are still in the file.
It will not let me select 'keychains' in the list, and defaults to 'System', which only shows a certificate for 'Dashboard Advisory'. When I was in my browser to log on to Apple Support, it asked for access to the keychain item, so applications can still access the keychain items, but I can't access or view them within Keychain. It will not let me import the file.
I did run repair disk permissions, but it didn't help. I was going to try rebooting to see if that helped and have made a backup of the original file, but I'm afraid of losing everything in Keychain Access when I do.
Any help would be most appreciated. Is there a way to get the information out of the keychain file and reenter it in Keychain as a new account? Is there a UNIX fix for this?
    Thanks in advance.

This is resolved, as rebooting actually brought the account and its passwords back into view in Keychain Access. I still don't know why it disappeared in the first place.

  • Keychain Access

Hi, i would like to know abit about Keychain Access, under certificates "com.apple.systemdefault" and "com.apple.kerberos.kdc" have 'This root certificate is not trusted' under them both, "Dashboard Advisory" has 'This certificate was signed by an unknown authority' under it, is that something to worry about?
Also i cant unlock 'Microsoft_Intermediate_Certificates', 'ATPR', 'PrivateEncryptedDatak', '052B00379E6ADE7AF005E8D5059Ck.dat' with my password, why is this?
Lastly do i need worry that 'com.apple.systendefault' and 'com.apple.kerberos.kdc' are under 'public key' in kind?
Im slowly learning about my mac, i dont like when i cant get into things on my own computer! Anyone got any info?
    Cheers, Sam

The Keychain Access application is only available for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and through the iCloud.

  • Best Practices for creating reports/Dashboards from BW systems

    HI Gurus,
Best  Practices of creating BO Dashboards / Xcelsisus from BW systems
    Prasad

You can use the BICS connector that leverages BW queries directly.  It is listed in the Connection Manager as "SAP NetWeaver BW Connection".  You will need both the ABAP and Java stack and SSO configured between the two.  You will also need to have SAP GUI and BEx installed on the machine you are doing development on.  Note that dashboards using this connection can only be hosted in NW Portal for the time being until the next release of BI 4.x platform.
Here are some links on getting started with the BICS connector:

  • System freezes randomly in Mac OS X Leopard

I have a problem with my system which freezing randomly. When it freezes, I can still move the mouse pointer around, but I can’t move or open any object on the screen.
It doesn’t seem to be connected to a particular program since it might occur in various programs. I checked the hardware and also catalogue structures, authentication and so forth with disc warrior. Another odd thing is that I can’t seem to beable to boot from the installation DVD. I’ve looked in the various logs (for example the crash logs), but there doesn’t seem to be any notation of the freezes on any of the logs. Another thing is that I sometime have trouble starting the computer, pushing the on-button doesn’t result in anything. Is there anything else I might try before reinstalling the system?

The console dashboard remains blank as per screenshot below. this happens on two seperate management groups on my machine. however, a third seperate environment renders absolutely fine.
However If I use a jumpoff windows 2012 server with the console installed, everything works fine on all three MGs.
I have tried repairing .Net as recommended in this post
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/systemcenter/en-US/e329b91b-cdf0-453e-ad77-900c30ddfc2b/all-scom-dashboard-views-are-blank
And I have also run the VSAE repair tool without fixing the error.
Has anyone else come across this? What could be the cause? I cannot pinpoint a single point of failure as the dashboards render OK via Server 2012 console, and one Management group renders OK from my win 7 machine.
    its infuriating!

    Hi,
Make sure that your Windows 7 has Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 hotfix installed.
Please try to remove the console and then reinstall it following the below link:

  • Can't use dashboard.  It launches my browser.  Very strange.

Whenever I open Dashboard it starts up and after about a 1 second pause, it launches my browser.  I can't use it or the widgets at all as I'm back in the desktop in my browser after 1 second. If I keep hitting F12 it will send me back to the desktop, opening a new browser window, as fast as I can hit it.  It is the strangest thing I've ever seen and I wonder if it is something my daughter did when I wasn't looking.

    Hi, Tron.
    1. Hot Corners you define for Dashboard or Exposé are saved in your Dock Preferences, i.e. the file com.apple.dock.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder.
Note:You will need to reconfigure your Dock after performing this procedure as it will reset the Dock to its default configuration. If you want a record your Dock setup before undertaking this procedure, take a screen shot of your Dock.
1.1. Trash the Dock preferences: com.apple.dock.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder. This file contains the settings for your Dock and any Hot Corners you defined for Dashboard or Exposé.
1.2. If you altered the keyboard shortcuts for Dashboard or Exposé in System Preferences > Dashboard & Exposé, the changes are saved in the com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist file in your Home > Library > Preferences folder. Trash that file as well.
1.3. After trashing these files, either log out, then log in, to your account or restart your Mac.
    1.4. Empty the Trash.
1.5. Reconfigure your Dock and any customization you performed in System Preferences > Dashboard & Exposé for hot corners and keyboard shortcuts.
Note: If you are running any Dock "hacks" or "add ons" you might want to disable or delete these as these can contribute to Dock problems.2. Given the other issues you described As a general check, run the Procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.
    Good luck!

  • Unable to Access Dashboard Builer

We have a new install of BO XI 3.0 on a Windows 2003 Server with 5 named user licenses (BOE 3.0 Pro for QRA). The install went flawlessly and we have no issues with generating and viewing reports. However, we also purchased 5 named user licenses for the Dashboard Builder (EPM Dahsboard Builder). I subsequently installed these licenses via the CMC and I can see them listed there. However, no one (including the Administrator) can access the Dashboard Builder. I have assigned the Administrator rights to create dashboards, yet nothing happens when I click on Dashboards in InfoView. In the CMC under License Keys, I can see both keys. When I select the Dashboard Builder key, under Total Licenses I see 5 Named Users, 0 Concurrent and 0 Processors. Under Selected Key I see just dashes in all three categories, and nothing in Expires. I am thinking this is telling me that I have 5 licenses available, but none have been applied to any users yet. Is that accurate? What do I need to do to turn this feature on?
    Thanks to all.
    Jim A.

Thanks for the input. I did not realize that a separate repository was required for the Dashboard Builder, so that was my first mistake. We were not told that we needed separate licenses for Performance Manager as well as the Dashboard Builder when this software was ordered, so that's the second mistake. We will pursue that with SAP. In the mean time I have installed an evaluation license.
I have created the Oracle user/schema for the Performance Manager, but can not find a way to deploy the necessary system tables. The documentation says to "Go to Dashboard and Analytics Setup > System Setup > Repository" but doesn't indicate where to find that option. Is that in InfoView somewhere? I certainly can't find it.
We are using Tomcat, not IIS.
I don't see any Performance Manager Servers in the CMC, nor are they available to add.
Why are there no clear instructions on how to set this up (or have I not yet found the correct document)? This is very frustrating.
    Sorry for the rant.

  • Integration of BOBJ Design Studio dashboard via SAP EP

My client is currently piloting the implementation of a BusinessObjects Design Studio dashboard.  For maximum flexibility, the Add-on for BI Platform (BIP) has been installed, and we are able to successfully execute the dashboard from the BOBJ LauchPad.  Dashboard presents query results from BW.
However, the client now wants to deploy this dashboard to their SAP Enterprise Portal environment.  They want the user to be able to access/execute the dashboard from within EP.  This is where we have faced several obstacles.  Initially, we received a blank screen upon dashboard execution, but this was recently resolved by installing the proper iview template for the BOBJ Design Studio analysis application. (OSS Note 1672422)
Now, when we execute the dashboard via EP, the system presents the BOBJ "hourglass/rainbow circle", but does not complete.  I checked the Process Overview in the BW system, and there is no activity taking place during this time.
We are currently at the following release levels:
    BW 7.3
    Portal 7.4
    BOBJ Design Studio 1.4
I would like to hear from someone who has successfully implemented this scenario (Design Studio dashboard, with BIP Add-on, being accessed via SAP EP).
Since we installed the DS Add-On for BIP, or course, we didn't install the DS Add-on for SAP NetWeaver.  Do we need to install the NetWeaver Add-on if we want to deploy the dashboards via Portal (even though they are managed/transported within the BI Plaform)?
    Any thoughts?
    Rod

    Hi Ingo:
Just wanted to give you an update on our issue.  As you suggested, I created a new Design Studio application, containing only a text box.  This application was successfully rendered within the Portal.
Afterward, I started experimenting with other dashboard components, including a crosstab object that was linked to a BW query as a Design Studio datasource.  The crosstab was also successfully rendered within the Portal.
I then added a chart to this application and re-executed.  While the text box and cross tab were visible, the chart was missing.
After researching further, someone mentioned Google Chrome, so I downloaded it and executed the test dashboard containing text box, crosstab, and chart.  It rendered successfully in Portal (via Chrome)!!
Afterward, I then executed my initial dashboard application via Chrome, and it also rendered successfully!
I had previously read several posts regarding IE compatibility with Design Studio, but I was always able to use IE to successfully render Design Studio applications via BOBJ LaunchPad.  Therefore, I didn't think I had an issues with DS and IE.  However, for us, the issue seems to be between DS, EP, and IE.
Now, we have to deal with an organizational issue of web browsers, but that's a separate challenge.
Thanks to all contributors for your insights.

  • Dashboard stopped working

    Hi
Yesterday the F12 key suddenly didn't open up the Dashboard. I checked System prefs to see if the F12 key was set to open the Dashboard and it was. I have also tried finding Dashboard in the apps folder in the Finder, but double clicking on this doesn't open it up either. Any idea what might be wrong or how I can reinstall the Dashboard? I couldn't figure out how to do this from the Leopard installation CD...
    Thanks

Hi. You can try to delete the dashboard plist in your home folder. Go to Users/YourLoginName/Library/Preferences and then find com.apple.dashboard.plist and drag it to the trash. Logout and log back in and see if dashboard works already. You can also try repairing disk permission from the Disk Utility. Good luck.

  • Monitoring using a Dashboard - How do you extract data from different fields?

I have a situation where a Dashboard needs to be made to monitor the state of different SAP systems.
Within individual Systems I know its easy to monitor the systems using CCMS (rz20), but my question is, How do you get to pull out the data that is displaying on the CCMS screen so that it could be taken and displayed on a dashboard. A dashboard could be a JAVA program that displays data from various such fields and displays maybe on a TV screen.
What I found so far was,
    in rz20
    Click on Performance Overview.
    click on CPU Utilization
So, I place my mouse pointer on Value '2' for User CPU Utilization and hit F1 and then click on Technical Details
Now even if I place my mouse pointer on Value '1'' for User CPU Utilization and hit F1 and then click on Technical Details I get the same screen as above.
So, My question is, How do we determine what data sits in what field?
The aim again is to read these data and populate an external Dashboard.
The current Systems are not connected to SolMan as we do not have a SolMan setup yet. I am just trying to make a Dashboard using the existing CCMS tool.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Bevin

    Hello Bevin,
There are other transactions : ST06N/OS07N to check performance data, see note:
    #371023 - OS07/ST06: Monitoring operating system data
    #1084019 - OS07N: New operating system monitor
All CCMS agents can copy data from the SAPOSCOL shared memory segment to the CCMS monitoring segment and transfer it to a central
monitoring system. This means that the data is visible in the CCMS monitoring architecture and is displayed both in the familiar transactions ST06
and OS07 and in the Alert Monitor (transaction RZ20)

  • Dashboard takes time to load?

I dont even have that many widgets up, just the weather, date, converter, calculator and chuck norris fact generator. Yet when i press F12, it can take a good 10 seconds for it to respond. Is this normal?

I noticed that in the list of fixes for the 10.4.6 update (the previous version), that it lists this as one of the fixes:

So, it's possible that there is a dashboard problem with some systems.
Perhaps you should try downloading and re-installing the Combo updater for your system.
For example, if you are not wanting to upgrade to the new 10.4.7 yet, you could just download the Combo updater for 10.4.6 and re-install that.
It would possibly fix any issues that might exist in your current installation.
If you are ready to install 10.4.7, then just download the Combo version of that one, and see if that fixes it.
You should, of course, make sure you have all your data backed-up before installing the 10.4.7 update just in-case your system doesn't like it.
Naturally, repair permissions both before and after you install either of the Combo updates.
    Hope this helps.
