Dashboard applications listed but not lauching

This generic application icon is found throughout the system...almost all of the utilites applications have this icon. applications will not open. Had done a few preference repairs and varifications. Then erased free space. The computer then was acting funny with the spot light function. The following day I noticed that iCal was not fully there in the dashboard and I restarted the computer. and it has all be down hill from there.

The generic icon has the ruler, paint brush and pencil that the appicaition store has--but has two black sheets of paper behind it.

It turns out that the problem had to do with network accounts, even though it was not clear at first. Redirecting the program to the local machine's cache with a network home redirector script fixed the issue. Thanks anyway.

How can I delete songs that in my song lists but not in my iphone?

I have these songs that appears on the song list but not in the music list under my device in itune. In the iphone song list , there is a stop/ play icon next the songs' title and i need the internet connection to play these songs and I can't delete them througn itune as they don't not show up and I can't delete them through iphone as there is delete icon show up while I swip over the song titles like others.

The “Lens Profile Downloader” is not where you get lenses “on the list”, rather it is where you get lenses that third-parties have provided, so usually for lenses not on the list.
I see three Sigma 17-70 f/2.8 DC variations for 5 different camera manufacturers so I’d expect you should see the lens listed if you select a raw photo. There is no profile for JPGs.

App world is showing up in my applications management but not on my actual blackberry

Hi I have a blackberry bold 9780, a few months ago when I received this phone from my parents it had a blackberry app world update. Ever since I tried updating it the blackberry app world is showing up in my applications management but not on my actual blackberry (if that makes sense). we've upgraded our AS Java running the Portal and a custom WDJ application from NW7.02 to NW7.40
I expected some problems with the custom application but not the kind we've ran into. We did not do any recompilation of any kind just to see what would happen. The application actually deploys fine according to the logs (both from telnet as well as from NWDS) but it's nowhere to be found. I've deployed both the .ear as well as the generated .SDA file. In both cases the deployement log show "Success".
I can see the application in the telnet LIST_APP command (status: started) but it doesn't show in the list of the WDJ applications in the WD Content Administration, nor in the Portal Content section for WDJ applications.
Any ideas what could have happened?

i think you are wasting time.
if the app is not migrated how you can expect it to be working....

New Application appears in Sidebar Task list, but not in main region

Sometimes, when I create a new application, it does not appear in my primary list of Applications.
But it is available via the sidebar Recent list.
It is not a matter of having a 2nd page of applications but that's not it (ie, at the bottom of the list region, it shows row(s) 1-2 of 2.
Any idea why this is happening and how to change it?
I looked thru the Application Builder Defaults, Developer Preferences, UI Defaults etc, but I don't see any setting to implement.

Perhaps one of the gurus will have a better answer, but what I've found is that if you log out of the workspace and back in again, the app usually shows up. I'm not sure if its a history thing with the browser or something in APEX. But logging out and back in usually solves the problem for me.

Buddy in app buddy list but not in menubar buddy list

For some reason, one of my Buddies does not show up in the Buddy List available from the menubar. That buddy (and all buddies) are listed in the Buddy List shown within the iChat application. I tried deleting the preferences plist files as referenced in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8269981 but it did not change the behavior I am seeing. Any suggestions?

I found the solution. That person had their AIM account entered twice into their address card on my computer. The capitalization was different between the two entries as well. I removed the buddy, deleted the extra AIM account entry from their address card, then added them back as a buddy as all is well!

Application runs but not as a Windows service oracore

I have a weird problem and I was hoping somebody might be able to help me. I have an application that we developed that uses an Oracle database. The application can be run in user mode(double clicking on the file) or as a Windows service. We have always used the Oracle Database client to connect to the Database in user mode and it has worked. Using the same configuration we were able to run our application as a service and it has always worked. The problem now is that if we use a newer Oracle Client (>= 10.2) it will not work as a service. When I say it doesn't work I mean that the application never starts and the Windows Event Viewer log states an APPCRASH in oracore10.dll or oracore11.dll.
It doesn't seem to matter which database we use, 10G, 11G, because if we use the 10.1 version of the Oracle Database Client to connect to these databases it works. However if we use any client>=10.2 the application crashes.
Any suggestions?

So I stopped any Oracle windows services that were running, deleted the only oracle directory on the machine, and reinstalled 11.2 client. The same results occur, I can connect to and start my application in user mode but not as a service. I checked the version# of OCI.dll, 1 instance of it on the machine, and it does state that it is version 11.2.0.1. The setup I have is:
Machine 1: Server 2008 R2
Oracle 11g database
Oracle 11g client
my application
Machine 2: Windows 7 64-bit
Oracle 11g client
my application
I get the exact same results if I try to run my application on the same machine as the database (machine 1) or across the network (machine 2).
I've setup the connection using Oracle Client's Net Configuration Assistant, added the Local Net Service Name Configuration, and am using TCP. At the end of the Local Net Service Name Configuration I get "Success" when talking to the database.

[Solved] Starting applications locally but not SSH

Ok, so.. argh..
I'm normally good enough to figure these _basic_ things out but i'm bashing my head right now.

i want to run startx when logging in locally on a tty, but not when i initiate a user-session via SSH.
Normally i'd place profiling stuff in .bashrc (variables, user aliases etc) and place startx in say a tty1.conf or something under /etc/init.d but since Arch is running systemd and starting x is not a daemon per sae i'm all out of luck here.
How do you guys normally startx? and how do you separate autostarting applications locally, remote etc?
Ps. I've started stuff via .config/openbox/autostart so that's fine.
I need X not to iniatate every ssh session :)
Solution (one of many):
This solution will not only work through all terminals (meaning you don't check the terminal name) it will also not rely on tty or session names, it will instead check if the source is running under a X window (:0) or from an IP (10.0.0.1).
If non of the above it defaults to starting x.
Note: It will not distinguish running under systemd aparently and it also doesn't take in account if you're relaying X via SSH i guess (havn't tried that tho but it's an assumption).

This feels unpredictable right off the bat mainly because there's other services being found in lastlog, also if two people login at the exact same time and one of them get a "spike" in the process priority you'll end up giving the wrong sessiondata to the wrong user unless you check the username logged in against lastlog but that requires more processing power then a case/if clause from a single output source. Speed is everything, logic is next and everything else falls behind

Works in Main Application mode but not the orange NXT mode for some NXT's

A simple Labview program designed using only NXT VI's worked in the Main Application but not in NXT mode. For some NXT's it worked in both modes but for others, just in Main Application mode. I've tried updating the firmware and plugging and unplugging the USB. Any thoughts?

I see. The problem is probably that when you are switching to the NXT Target mode, it is expecting to target the other brick to which you already deployed. If you right-click on the orange banner menu in the lower left corner, you should be able to select the other NXT, or use "Find NXT..." to scan/search for bricks.
Also, I reccommend giving all your NXTs unique names so this is more obvious. (you can use the NXT Terminal tool to do that).
If you still can't get the VI to run in target mode, restart labview.
