Dashboard BUG

In Tiger when I used the Dashboard, every time I returned to the Dashboard the last widget I had used would be the one selected and ready to go.
In Leopard NONE of them are selected or ready to go and I need to pick one over and over. I think this must be a bug, it can't be the new better way can it? The way it worked before was great, I could use the calculator for instance and come and go at will without the need to select it again and again and again and again. Now I find it almost worthless... Very sad...

10.5.2 fixed this.

Is this a Dashboard bug?

When I clik on a widget that happens to be over the menu bar, on the top right, over the battery icon for exemple, the menu for that item opens up...
Is this normal ? I don't think so. Is this what you could call a "bug" ?
It opens the menus for: bluetooth, Airport, language, sound, date-time, battery etc, but not spotlight...

That's funny. For me, it doesn't open if you just click, but rather I have to click and drag a bit, and then the menu pops open. And the menu works-- I can open the data and time preference window while in the dashboard, though it opens behind dashboard and is dimmed.
It's hard to call this a feature. It's annoying, so it must be a bug.

Time Machine/Dashboard Bug

At a point during my Time Machine backup, my active window, in whatever program I'm using, becomes inactive. The program stays active, just the window of it becomes inactive. I have to click inside the window to make it active again. I believe the problem is related to Dashboard. If I restart my iMac and don't start Dashboard, the problem does not happen. If I have started Dashboard, and then quit it using StopDashboard widget, then the problem goes away.

I've been turning on my suspect widgets one by one and testing. I just turned on one called "Current Moon Phase," and then the window deactivating problem happened again. I turned it off again. More testing.

Bugs After Upgrading to Lion 10.7.2 (Dashboard,Safari,iCal,System Configuration)

I got a lot of bugs after upgrading my Macbook Pro from 10.7.1 into 10.7.2
1. Dashboard :
     everytime i change something or add a new widget on dashboard, ex : wrote a new stickies, arranging the place of widgets. after shutdown or restart the changed never apply.
2. Safari :
     i cant delete my safari history, the history stuck. even i try to reset safari. it doesnt work.
3. iCal :
    i cant open ical, it pop up saying that "calender chache cannot be moved because you dont have a permission to"
4.System Configuration :
   everytime i login my macbook pro, the system configuration,itunes,safari suddenly appear to opened. i try to change the User&Accounts - Login Items. its not working anyway.
Anyone please help me. Wish that apple will so soon repair the bugs.

Just got some bugs with Dock and Dashboard

Hi!
Been using my mac for 1 year now. Sudden some bugs just came by.
I was using two widgets; "Ordbok" and "TriTrans".
When I now try to use TriTrans I get this: http://bildr.no/view/75953 and I can't enter a search.
When I try to use Ordbok i get this: http://bildr.no/view/75954
I tried to make a new account just to see if I got the same problem and I sudden did. Then I went back to my main account and deleted the Dock, Desktop and Dashboard pref files (in Library/Preferences). Rebooted and tried again. Didn't work.
When I made a new account I also noticed that the Dock had an icon with the "question mark" (this ting: ?). When I hovered it I got: "iMovie". Some icons to the left I got a working "iMovie HD". Where does the iMovie (wannabe) icon come from? (It was a new account).
Anyways, someone now how to fix some of these?

Btw, someone who got any idea of the "question mark" icon I get in the dock when deleting the Dock config file or add new user? It says "iMovie" but beside it I got the "iMovie HD" icon, working.

Little bug in the dashboard

Yep, it look like even Apple software can have little bugs. To trigger it, open the dashboard then click and try to access menus of any system icons in the upper right part of the screen (except spotlight) with the click and hold method. You might have to move the mouse a bit before the bug is triggered. The menu souldn't appear right

Well, it appears right , but dashboard doesn't disappear (because it doesn't disappear until you release the mouse button). If you want, you can send a bug report to -you'll have to sign up for a free ADC account.

Big BUG in Translation Dashboard Widget, please fixed it!

The Translation Widget using SYSTRAN language Translation Service, but now the translation not works in "English-Simplified Chinese" and "English-Traditional Chinese". When translate English words to Chinese, it can not show Chinese text, and when translate Chinese to English, it shows "undefined" error.
The bug appears in Tiger/Leopard's Translation Dashboard Widget.

Out of curiosity, how did you determine the 10.4/10.5 aspect of the reproducibility of the problem?
On my 10.5.7 system, I don't seem to be experiencing the issue -- I don't read any form of Chinese so I can't say for certain, but with the usual round trip uncertainties, I more or less get back to where I started from. For example:
English: "The bug appears in Tiger/Leopard's Translation Dashboard Widget."
Simplified Han: "臭虫出现于老虎或豹子的转换控制板小部件"
English: "The bug appears in the tiger or leopard's conversion control panel small part."
English: "The bug appears in Tiger/Leopard's Translation Dashboard Widget."
Traditional Han: "臭蟲出現於老虎或豹子的轉換控制板小部件。"
English: "The bug appears in the tiger or leopard's conversion control panel small part."

In other words, I don't think it is a bug (programming flaw) in the switching control kneading board small part. Perhaps you have a local configuration issue -- try testing in a fresh account to see if the problem occurs there...

Sleep Bug - Click Fires Dashboard

All of a sudden my June 2010 MBP has an issue when resuming from sleep. Any single click is firing the dashboard. ***! I've checked the trackpad settings, nothing helpful there.
I don't know what else to check. If it's a fresh boot, no problems. As soon as it sleeps and resumes, bam, click = dashboard
Even if the sleep is only shut the lid, wait for sleep and reopen. The weird thing is that immediately upon resume the click works just fine it takes a few moments for the bug to crop up.
Any ideas or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, I own a magic mouse, so I assumed it was the problem. The first thing I did was turn off the bluetooth. That didn't help.
Then I remembered I was running MagicPerfs. I killed it, problem gone. I don't know what setting I jacked up yet and I'm not sure why it's only a problem after resuming from sleep. When I figure it out, I'll post an update.

Dashboard Calc widget bug

If I click on a number in the calc widget I get two of the numbers I clicked.
If I click and drag off the number button I get one. So it seems its responding to both the mouse button down and mouse button up events. Same with all the buttons. equals will give the result and then again.
keyboard entry works fine.
(Its a Logitech mouse, and please don't claim its a driver issue, its a widget/dashboard issue, since the mouse works fine *every where* else.)

Been there, done that. Even the trackpad built into the MBP does it. Never saw the prob until this MBP/Snow Leopard. Other Apple widgets work as expected.
Now I have noticed if I left click its OK. I've checked the button mappings (both logitech and apple's. pref pane)

Dashboard persistance - Bug?

Hi. I'm having a problem with my Dashboard that does not resolve after rebooting. I have not installed any new software recently.
The problem is that when I click on the Dashboard Icon, the dashboard comes up fine, but when I want to dismiss it, it keeps coming back. This just started happening today and rebooting, power cycling, etc doesn't seem to fix it. It happens now every time I attempt to use the dashboard. I tried removing most of the widgets from the dashboard and that didn't help either. Any suggestions? THANKS!

Try this:
Navigate to /Users/~(yourHome)/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dashboard.plist and drag that file to your desktop. Then log out and back in or restart.

How do I fix this Clock Dashboard Widget bug-ish thing?

When I installed Mavericks from Mountain Lion, the clocks on Dashboard went cookoo. Other than what you see, there is no "i" button to change to the city I want to see the time for.
I have a early 2011 13inch MBP.
Does anyone else have this problem?

Hi, I had this same problem too...all you have to do is: remove the widget from the dashboard, then delete this file widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist from the Library folder and reboot your computer. Once you've done this you can try readding the clock to your dashboard and it should be fixed.

Screen Sharing bug (erroneously activating Spaces and Dashboard)

I'm a recent upgrade to Snow Leopard, and also, as it turns out, a complete newbie to Screen Sharing, which generally works quite well.
My one hitch is that under certain circumstances, the remote machine activates Spaces or Dashboard when I don't want it to. Those circumstances are clicking on one or multiple files, and then attempting to drag them somewhere while holding down the mouse button. For some reason, this problem does not occur while, say, dragging a Finder window around on the desktop.
I have hot corners for Spaces and Dashboard in the top-right and bottom-left corners of my screen, respectively. However, the accidental activation occurs when my cursor is nowhere near the screen corners. I thought it might have been issue with scaling, but the same problem occurs without scaling. I also have a hot corner in the bottom-right for display sleep, but this never seems to activate accidentally.
I guess I could disable hot corners, but I'd prefer not to. Any advice would be appreciated.

No; my local machine is a MBP and I was only using the trackpad. When I get home I'll check to see if the side buttons are enabled on the remote machine (iMac), but I doubt that's the issue.

How to populate data for SharePoint Team Foundation Server web part burndown, bug progress chart

We are configuring the Team Foundation Server web part to show dashboards associated with burndown, user stories, etc. I added some active but when I click on the Bug Progress link, the chart does not display any data. I click on the Burndown link to
add some issues data. When I click on the Task burndown or the user story progress, I get the following message
"The error occured during an attempt to establish a connection to the external data source. The following connections failed to refresh:
TfsOlaReport"
I would like the see the data correctly populated in the chart. Any help is greatly appreciated.

As far as I know team project Release Burndown report shows in team project site by default. How did you add the active to show Bug Progress chart and did you custom your Burndown in team project site? Please share the detailed steps here. And you can share

I am using following power shell command.

$devDashboardSettings.Update();
I have used this commands on Sharepoint 2013 Foundation. In that, it shows small icon for DD. But when I am clicking on it, it doesn't show anything. Just blank screen. When I used same commands with Sharepoint 2013 server vesion, these commands works for me.
Does this mean that, in Sharepoint Foundation, It doesn't provide Developer Dashboard. ?
Please comment below , if you have any idea.
