Dashboard Builder to BI Workspaces -- recreate again?

Hi there,
I understand the Dashboard Builder was changed to BI workspaces.  if I created the layout in dashboard builder in BOEXIR2, do I need to recreate the interface from scratch in SAP BI 4.0 at BI workspaces interfaces?
Thanks.
Regards,
gloria

I have a greyed out button "Dashboards" on the top bar in my InfoView.
There is no server for Dashboards visible in my CCM.
What I do have is a PerformanceManagement.war in my BObj-installation (which I deployed into my TomCat).
Any help on activating the Dashboard-builder with the Edge-BI-trial?

  • Is Dashboard Builder located in Portal or its part of SAP BI or elsewhere

    Hello
    Is Dashboard Builder BI  located in Portal or its a part of SAP BI or something else?
    I need to know where its actually based.
    Thanks

    You will have to be on SAP BW 7.01 (SAP NetWeaver 7.0 EHP1) and SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.x in order to integrate and requires the SAP Integration Kit for SAP Business Objects Enterprise.
    Dashboard Builder, while still part of the BOE suite, is somewhat being replaced by Xcelsius which is again a different tool and different licensing.

  • Dashboard Builder - Anyone using this in Live environment

    Hi,
    We have requirements wherin we want to integrate Xcelsius and Detailed Webi reports and develop a kind of reporting suite where the Xcelsius will drive the reporting outputs in Webi.
    we have completed a prototype and know this works with the use of 'Dashboard builder'.
    Wanted to now check if anyone has used 'dashboard Builder' in a lIve environment and how stable it is.
    Can we publish reports developed in Dashboard Builder to folders and control who has access to which report ?
    Thanks,
    Sameer

    Hi some customers are using Dashboard in PRD environment and it works fine is ver stable.
    Respect to the authorizations, you must asume that a dashboard is a resume of webi, xcelsius and analytics reports and you need authorizations for any element individually and then also authorization to the dashboard if you need you can restrict the access as any other file in the BO.

  • Dashboard Builder integration with BO universe

    Hello,
    I want to find out if we can drill down from one dashboard to another dashboard and then another dashboard in Xcelsius Enterprise.
    I know that we can drill down from one level to another, however there are no examples in it.
    Alternatively, you can drill drown in Dashboard Builder also, and I heard that dashboard Builder also connects to the universe data.  Is it easy to you dashboard Builder instead.
    Thanks
    Abhijit

    Try the following and see what happens:
    <%@ page import="com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException,
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.*,
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.infostore.*"
    %><%
    IEnterpriseSession enterpriseSession;
    String serializedSession;
    /*  * Set Enterprise Logon credentials. */
    final String BO_CMS_NAME  = "MyCMSName";
    final String BO_AUTH_TYPE = "secEnterprise";
    final String BO_USERNAME  = "MyuserName";
    final String BO_PASSWORD  = "MyPassword";
    Set Java InfoView start page URL
    final String INFOVIEW_URL = "http://<hostname>:<port>/InfoViewApp/logon/start.do";
    Log onto Enterprise and serialize the Enterprise Session.
    enterpriseSession = CrystalEnterprise.getSessionMgr().logon(BO_USERNAME,BO_PASSWORD, BO_CMS_NAME, BO_AUTH_TYPE);
    serializedSession = enterpriseSession.getSerializedSession();
    Redirect to InfoView, passing the serialized Enterprise Session.
    response.sendRedirect(INFOVIEW_URL + "?ivsLogonSession=" + java.net.URLEncoder.encode(serializedSession));

  • Dashboard Builder Not Available

    Hi guys
    I´ve installed BO XI 3.1 SP 2 FP 2.8 without problems it work fine i´ve create universes and webi documents but when i wanted to create an analytic in dashboard builder i notice that the dashboard builder is not available i have the option in the toola bar but is grayed.
    I enter CMC and in applications i didnt found anything about Analytics.
    In servers i didntfound any server about analytics or performance or any AA server.
    Somebody told me that is needed a licence about Performance MAnager or Analytics, i found temporary licences of both and i installed but nothing happened.
    How can i make dashboard builder works, is necesary to install anything or is just only needed a configuration?
    I hope somebody could help me with this.
    Regards

    Hi Oscar,
    There are higher chances that you've not chosen to install Dashboard Builder at the time of installing BO Enterprise XI3.1 and hence you are not able to see the Dashboard Builder services. BOXI3.1 comes with Dashboard Builder embedded and hence there is no additional installer for it.
    It is recommended that if you wish to use Dashboard Builder, you must have a Premium Keycode (License) for BusinessObjects Enterprise. "Performance Management Dashboards" are an Extention of Dashboard Builder and needs Extra License and Database however, we just need to configure it, there is nothing to install additionally for Performance Management Dashboards.
    Would request you to please go through the relevent litrature to have more insight on Dashboard Builder and Performance Management Dashboards so that you can choose accordingly.
    Regarding your scenario, you can go to BOServer (machine where you've installed BO) >> Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs >> and can "Modify" the BOE Setup. From there, you can select the Performance Management services install them additionally. Just make sure you have the BOE Installation files handy.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers!

  • PWVERSION sql error in dashboard builder

    Hi all
    We are currently attempting to deliver SAP Strategy Management through the dashboard builder as part of an integrated solution of SSM, Xcelcius and Webi.  When we try to run SSM within a tab page on Dashboard Builder we get the following error;
    Error: SqlStatement
    Error: SqlStatement: SELECT * from PWVERSION
    Error Code: no such table: PWVERSION
    The SSM does not then start up.
    This is a pioneering attempt to integrate the two tools in a portal style solution so any help would be very much appreciated.
    Regards
    Gareth

    Thats right...
    Err..Ohk. Don't tell me that you are using Hierarchical columns and other attributes in same prompt (i.e. Single GO Button)
    Like you have columns like Region-Country-State-City and say Category in same prompt where Region-Country-State-City is hierarchy in OBIEE RPD.
    You will have to create 2 seperate prompts here to get it work.
    Prompt 1: Region-Country-State-City (Constraint on each level)
    Prompt 2: Category and other attributes
    This will have 2 prompts so 2 GO button. No way you can achieve this in Single GO even if you change the XMLs and all.
    This is OBIEE logic working behind pulling the common fact and also fetching hierarchical data based on level above i.e. constraints here...
    Hope this clears your doubt. Or may be give the exact structure of your prompts.

  • Can I re-install Flex Builder trial after 60 days again?

    As far as I understand Flex Builder trial version stops working after 60 days.
    Can I after the 60 days uninstall Flex Builder and re-install it again with 60 more days or does Flex Builder somewhere
    (e.g. in Registry ) set a flag that Flex Builder was already installed?
    In other words do the 60 days count per installation or per computer?
    Peter

    No.
    But if you are a student you can receive Flex Builder for free (google it).
    And of course you can use Flex SDK absolutely free with Eclipse (except Flex Data Visualisation components - AdvancedDataGrid, Charts).

  • Encyclopedia and Dashboard Builder

    Hi Experts
    I have a customer that wants to use the Encyclopedia together with  the Dashboard at analytics level. I have played around with the different options but there doesnu2019t seem to be  solution. As I see it the Encyclopedia is only shown at tab/ dashboard level and cant be linked at lower level. I hope that I have missed something ?
    Kind regards
    Anders Toft

    Encyclopedia and Dashboard Builder
    you can use the Encyclopedia to show the information when you click on some tab while you are navigating through the dasboard itself.
    for everytab or sub-tab you can have different information
    but dont think that you can use it for analytics level
    good luck
