Dashboard clock

I downloaded a big analogue clock onto dashboard, and I can't change the time. Does anyone know how to change the time? Otherwise does anyone know how I can delete it from dashboard?
thanks

Ogelthorpe
I have OS X Version 10.8.2
The widget is a big analogue clock that i downloaded from an apple download site.

I can delete it from the dashboard, no problems. As it is useless and I can't change the time.....it seems to have its own time. I would like to delete it from my computer. I don't have an option, that I know of to manage widgets available to dashboard.
thanks for you help and suggestions.

  • Dashboard clock displays incorrect time for remote cities

    Hi all,
Small issue here : I added a new clock in dashboard to display the time in Rabat, Morocco.
Unfortunately the clock is an hour off (shows 10pm when it is actually 11pm there).
I already asked the google friend, always the same answer : check your time zone in preferences, which I did.
    > My current location & time zone are correctly set (Brussels, Belgium CEST), time is correctly displayed for this location both on the desktop and in dashboard clock.
    > Tried allowing the system to determine my current time zone automatically, no change.
    > Date & time is set automatically via apple euro time server.
Does anyone know what's wrong here? Something related to daylight saving time maybe? (seems odd but I ran out of ideas.)
    Thanks a bunch,
    Nicolas

This same problem stared plaguing me as well yesterday (iPhone 5c), maybe a week after upgrading to iOS 8.3. I've tried everything (which isn't much, right?) to no avail. Among the symptoms were time and date wrong (of course) but also intermittent WiFi misbehavior (e.g., disconnects) and very sluggish response on the set Date & Time page (Settings : General : Date & Time)--when setting the "Set Automatically" slider from off to on or vice-versa it would often take many seconds to respond (and I'd swear the sliding circle looks a tiny bit elongated when stuck).
Anyway, this morning I let the power drain normally and kept it that way for a few hours. I've now plugged it back in to charge and the time has been correct for the past 45 min. and counting, so this may be a remedy. I'll check back in later today with progress.

  • How to Correct Dashboard Clock?

The clock on my Dashboard and the time in the top righthand corner of my screen have been about 17 minutes late ever since I bought my MacBook. The Dashboard clock is set to the correct geographic location. How do I correct this?

    Peter:
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try clicking on the clock on the menu bar and lauch Date and Time Preferences. Make sure Set Date and Time automatically is checked. The dropdown menu should have Apple Americas/U.S. (time.apple.com) selected. Change the time manually, if you need to. If it still wants to regress to being slow I suggest that you make an appointment at the Genius Bar and have them take a look. There is no charge for looking.

  • Dashboard Clock Widget like iPhone Clock

I've had an iPhone for a couple of years, and this week I'm finally making the switch from PC to Mac. One of the really simple questions I have is where to find a clock widget for the dashboard that functions like the iPhone clock with time zone clocks, timer, and alarms. Everything I've managed to dig up so far is too bloated for simple daily tasks like quickly checking what time zone a client is in before calling. Is there anything out there someone can recommend that is as easy to use and straightforward as the iPhone clock app except for the dashboard?

  • Dashboard Clock on Desktop

I have a strange problem. An annoyance really. The clock widget that once was on my dashboard has migrated to my desktop. It is always on top, often in the way and I can't get rid of it. I can click the little 'i' and change the city and it will adjust to that time, but I am perfectly happy to hit F12 first and use it there. Can anyone suggest how I can banish this thing back to where it belongs?

Click on the widget, hold down the option key on your keyboard and move your mouse around the inside of the widget -- you should see an X appear in the top left corner of the widget. Clicking on the X will remove the widget from your desktop.

  • Dashboard clock out by one?

Right now my computer clock says it is 1:19pm, which it is. In System Prefs I've set the closest city to Wellington (New Zealand) and I'm told we're on NZDT, which we are. However, the World Clock widget in Dashboard says it is 12:19 in Wellington and 5:19pm in San Francisco (where it should be 4:19pm).
Im not sure how to provide this bug report to Apple, so I;m placing it here in the hope an Apple person will read it or someone can tell me what to do next.

Daylight savings time, perhaps? A couple of year ago Congress, in its infinite wisdom, changed DST to end a few weeks earlier in the fall than it used to. Or later. Or something...DST has always completely confused me, worse so since I now live in a city and can't remember what would have worked for farm folk.
Some clocks and timers haven't been adjusted to recognize this. Maybe wait a week or two...I can't even remember exactly when it used to change.

  • Dashboard - clock widget - setting the city

Ok, I just bought this mini yesterday. I'm doing pretty good (15 year Windows user gimme a break - still getting used to the mouse in MAC).
The closest city in the clock widget to me is Columbus. I am in Cincinnati. How do I change the city in the widget when it isn't an option.

  • Can I move the clock on my Dashboard to my Desktop? If yes, how ?

The analog clock which used to be on the menu bar of my computer has disappeared. There is a nice clock on the Dashboard. Can someone please tell me how to move this clock from Dashboard to my Desktop? Thanks.

The analog clock which used to be on the menu bar of my computer has disappeared.
To get it back just go to System Preferences/Date & Time/Clock
Place a check mark next to 'Show date & time in the menu bar'
Select in the View section 'analog'
As for the Dashboard clock, if the instructions or its website does not mention you can also add clock to the menu bar, I guess you can't. There are 3rd party menu clocks which can be found on Versiontracker and Macupdate.

  • Dashboard world clock issue

Since ML I can't add any standard world clock widget to my dashboard other than automatically set up to my local time.
Any one wit same issue ?
    Any Ideas ?
    Jean.

    I finally called Apple Care.
The solution is to delete the corrupted plist file named "widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist"
in the preferences folder in your user library
Restart the computer, a new file is created and you can make your dashboard clock widget settings as usual.

  • How do I get dashboard widgets on the desktop again?

I used to have the stock ticker widget on my desktop all the time, but after I upgraded it disappeared. I used to be able to go into dashboard, clock and hold on a widget, then exit dashboard, and the widget would move to my desktop. Where/why has this functionality gone?

Symantec have released updates for Norton 360 and Norton Internet Security to make them compatible with Firefox 4, for details see http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Firefox-4-compatibility-hotfix-is-now-available/td-p/428894

  • How do I get a bumper or a build-in/out to end where I want it?

I want to be able to cut it off or shorten it with the logo still showing - not having faded back to black. This means the Motion project would need to end where I ended it in Motion - not be 30-50% longer.
It should be simple, shouldn't it? To end a movie on one frame, with three things together: movie, logo, last beat of music - is this an exotic thing?
Changing the project duration has no effect - it's as if there's a minimum project length of 8 seconds. (BTW, trashing caches and prefs has no effect.) Setting the Project Properties, Play Range In/Out or time on the dashboard clock seemingly have no effect. I'm not yet completely sure if setting the Build In/Out markers will have an effect.
Why I can't just cut off the excess in FCP without the project shrinking to half of the time I'm trying to fill is beyond me. Is there a way to do that? (I'm over 50 years old. I remember using real, metal razor blades. In this way only, that was less frustrating . . .)
    Thanks -
    One very frustrated crusty broad

I just discovered what the Project Loop End marker is for. I am no longer frustrated. And, apparently, it IS a problem to set project durations shorter than about eight seconds. I had no problem setting it to ten. Four and five are problems.
So, for anyone else who wants to end a Motion project on an exact fram: Project Loop End. To me, that sounded like it would go back and play the effect over again, but it doesn't.

  • QuickTime and Windows Media

I knew it would come to this..... I love my new MacBookPro and everything works but.... I can't play all these media files that are formatted for Windows Media Player. I get this window taking me to a website for a component to add to QuickTime that wont run on Intel MAC's..... I know someone has run into this by now trying to look at the MSNBC video feeds. What's the trick?

One other question an I am not sure of where to out it. The *displayed* time is sometimes wrong on my desktop. Somehow this is connected to the Dashboard clocks because they are wrong, too. But, when I went to System Preferences, figuring I had done something wrong, and it was wrong, too, but I got the spinnging colored beach ball and it corrected itself. So...the question is: is this a minor software bug Apple is working on? Or have they fixed it and I am missing the fix? Or am I being reallyt stupid and doing something wrong that is driving my clock crazy? or is this a new-genuine bug of some sort or other?

  • 2 Widget Questions

I downloaded a program called MAMP, and it instructed me to copy a widget to ~Library/Widgets. I assume it's reffering to the folder Macintosh HD > Library > Widgets. But I wasn't able to copy it because that folder can't be modified. So how do I insert a new widget into the Widgets folder?
In the meantime, I couldn't access my Dashboard widget to check the time because it was covered up by my status bar, which was filled with various software program icons. While trying to access Dashboard, I apparently deleted it. I can't even find it in the Applications folder.
However, if I type "Dashboard" into Spotlight, it brings up the Dashboard clock. But when it closes, it vanishes, and I have to type Dashboard into Spotlight every time I want to check the time.
How can I restore the Dashboard widget/icon to my desktop?
    Thanks.

Actually, "~" means your home folder, so the instruction was referring to the Library/Widgets folder there, not the main /Library/Widgets folder (which is where built-in Apple widgets get installed). Users have permissions to add files to your home folder, but not the system folders.
I don't quite understand how your Dashboard got deleted, but you can restore it from your installation disk using Pacifist.

  • HughesNet and MacBook

I just got my new MacBook about 3 months ago and cannot use it. We live in the sticks and do not have cable. Our internet service is through HughesNet. We have a limit on the amount we can download in a 24 hour period. Every time I turn my macbook on for over 1 hour, we go over our allotment. I have tried turning every RSS feed I can find off. I only check for mail manually. I don't watch videos over the internet. It's just normal Searches, etc. Actually most of my time spent on the Macbook is non-internet usage - using spreadsheets, word processing, etc.
I don't want to disconnect my wireless connection - because I would like the internet available when I need it - but what is running? and what is it downloading? We have 4 other PCs connected to this and it's my Macbook that is causing the overages everytime.
Has anyone else, that has limited Internet usage, experienced this with their MacBook?

Thank you ~ I did find about 6 more applications that had automatic updates turned on - so I turned them off. I also removed a couple things from the dashboard (clock, weather). I didn't realize those continued to run in the background even though I wasn't displaying it.
I have the Activity Monitor up and just keeps spiking. When I look at the bytes sent/bytes recieved, it looks like the 2 biggest users are Finder and Activity Monitor. There is also activity on Folx Agent. I don't have any downloads scheduled.
Why would Finder (when I have it closed) have activity?
Anything else I can check? Again, I'm very new to the Mac world - so I don't know know what is running behind the scenes.
    I appreciate your help.

  • From where can I download the original Dashboard World Clock for OS 10.6.8? Mine's not working

    Hi there,
I'm not sure what happened but my Dashboard World Clock doesn't work anymore. I had taken it off my dashboard along with other widgets when I was trying to speed up my computer. I then added the same widgets back to the dashboard except the World Clock no longer showed up in the widgets list. The other widgets were all fine.
I can see the World Clock widget file in my widgets folder in Library but it won't show up anywhere on the dashboard so I'd like to download a new file to see if that helps.
    Thanks!

There are multiple world clock dashboard widgets available.
See if you can find the one for the image you posted >   Apple - Downloads - Dashboard
The glitch may be that the one want has been updated to a newer user interface.
