Dashboard "Double-Windowing"

Has anyone else seen this problem? Both in Firefox and IE, when I load a dashboard, the browser creates another version of itself within itself to display the dashboard, complete with two versions of Recently Viewed, Favorites, Search and so forth. I'll add an attachment if I can which shows the problem.
Clarification - it's actually displaying the entire OnDemand frame within the OnDemand frame. I wish I could add an attachment, but alas.
Thanks,
Mike

  • Dashboards for window 7 mobile

Are there plans to make apps for OBI dashboards on windows 7 mobile like there is for iphone Oracle Business Indicators?

    Hi:
Install all the drivers listed under the chipset section.
If your model has an Intel graphics adapter, just install the Intel HD graphics driver listed under the graphics section.
You need the Realtek ethernet driver under network.
You need the Realtek card reader driver under storage.
I don't know what model wireless card your model uses, so please do the following and I will figure that out and tell you what drivers you need for that.
Go to the device manager and click on the device named Network Controller.
Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Network Controller window.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the item named Hardware ID's.
Post the top string of characters you see in the window that start with PCI\VEN.
After you install the drivers I suggested you should have most of the devices installed.
You can find the hardware ID for any remaining devices needing drivers using the above approach and I will post the links to those too.
Unknown devices first line will not start with PCI\VEN.  But post the top line for any of those too.

  • Dashboard and window sizes when connecting to LED display

    Hello,
I just bought the LED display yesterday...gotta say thats its beautiful....i have one problem though....when i connected it to my macbook all the window sizes (e.g safari, itunes, dashboard) were too small....I tried modifying them...but now when i disconnect the display the window sizes on the macbook are too big and out of display....the resolution on the laptop is 1280X800 and on the screen its 1920X1200
    any way to fix this?
    Thanks

My experience is that if you are connected to the larger display and then disconnect without restarting, then you will see the behaviour you are describing.
If you restart the machine after disconnecting, the MB is smart enough to make everything fit within the native (and only available) resolution.
    Good luck!

  • Dashboard as window in Spaces?

Anyone know if there is a way to make Dashboard one of the window zones in Spaces? Sorry if this is a feature request, but it would make my life so much easier! (I love Spaces.)

I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day. It no longer makes any sense for Dashboard to have its own (crippled) workspace. Let us put widgets where we want them! Apple could even use a default Spaces desktop to simulate the existing capability, but users could then move the widgets around as required. However, AFAIK there is no current way to do this.

  • Getting a Dashboard quit window message...

    Hello all.
I have started to add some widgets to Dashboard, all downloaded from Apple's site, but I will state that not all the widgets in their own site have stated that they are Leopard 10.5 compatible. I've also added two 'Web Clip' widget from my local websites, one is a company's share price and the other the local petrol/gas price.
Sometimes upon the 2nd or 3rd time reactivating Dashboard, I notice the widgets have "frozen"... I know this because one of the widgets I downloaded was "fan" and the fans (of the mac's internal fan speed etc) has stopped turning...
*Anyway, so I exit Dashboard and return to the Desktop, and not long, I would get this pop-up window message:*
+(Yellow Exclamation Point) The application DashboardClient quit unexpectedly.+
+Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.+
+Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple (Ignore/Report... Buttons)+
So I send the report anyway thought Apple could use all the information.
I bet this has something to do with the "frozen" widgets inside Dashboard... maybe it's one of the widgets or not, I am not sure.
    Thanks and cheers

    hi,
i'm getting the same thing (so i figured i'd add to this post), but all i did was run the most recent software update and my dashboard started "unexpectedly quitting" on me. i didn't add any new widgets or change anything in it. it's annoying and a little unnerving. i'm wondering if it'll cause system instability later on. any advise would be much appreciated.
    thanks a bunch!

  • What's with the double window appearing out of nowhere in Address Book?

There is one window visible all through the Time Machine process until the very end when suddenly a phantom Address book window appears.
    To recreate:
    Open Address Book
    Open Time Machine
Scroll to the oldest address book window in TM
    Click Cancel
TM returns to present and as TM quits the two windows appear.

I duplicated this, and indeed, a second window shows up. However, it vanishes in less than a second on my machine. I believe it's the one shown while in Time Machine mode; apparently, when viewing the address book, Time Machine moves back to "real time" before closing the window, the opposite of what one usually sees. Are you saying that in your case, the second window stays open?

  • Double WINDOW SORT Operation

Please review following SQL and it's execution plan. Why am I seeing 2 WINDOW SORT operations even though in sql . analytic function "row_number" has been used only once?
Also, In step 3 of the plan, why "bytes" goes from 35 GB(4th step) to 88GB when row count remains the same. In fact , since I'm selecting just 1st row , both row count as well as "bytes" should have gone down. Shouldn't it?

    Thanks Jonathan for your reply.
This type of pattern happens quite frequently in parallel execution with aggregation. A layer of slave processes can do partial aggregation before passing a reduced result set to the query co-ordinator to finish the job.
I wouldn't be 100% sure without building a model to check, but I think the logic of your quer allows the eight slaves to identify each "rownumber() = 1" for the data set they have collected, and the allows the query coordinator to do the window sort on the eight incoming rows (for each key) and determine which one of the eight is ultimate the highest date.So is it a normal pattern? Will step#7 & #4 do the same amount work as stated in PREDICATE information part of execution plan.?
You’re correct! There are 8 slave processes appears to be performing WINDOW PUSHED RANK ( Step#7 in Execution Plan ) as you see in following output. Per execution plan and your comment, each one appears to be finding partial set of rows row_num <= 1. It’s apparently doing lots of work and very slow even with 8 processes. So not sure , how slow would be QC doing the same work just by itself.
And as you see below , it’s [Step#7 ] very slow and half of the slaves performing multi pass sort operation. Even though , it was estimated 35GB for that operation, why it’s estimating work area size of only 6-14MB only? Also, It’s allocating so low amount of PGA than expected. P_A_T was set to approx 11 GB. Currently this was the only query/operation on the Instance.
Why it’s not allocating more PGA for that operation? [My apologies for diverting from my original question ].
I have included PGA stats as well here which was taken 5-10 minutes later than other PQ session information. It’s still shows that there is no shortage of PGA.
Moreover, I have observed this behavior (under allocation of PGA) especially for WINDOWS SORT operations for other SQLs too. Is it normal behavior ? I’m on 10.2.0.4.

  • Double window

recently when opening a new URL the browser puts the new window in a partially visible window on the left of the original window. The partial window is not wanted.
I want all windows to open in their own space/tab or a new window.
What must I change to fix this?

When i start the first browser, it's all fine, but while the first window is open, any other new window i open looks like the image below, the bookmark toolbar is not there,(even if it's clicked on) to get it back, i have to view, unselec bookmark, then view again, select toolbar.. i also get 2 close red box "x" the inner one is useless, and does nothing. and i also get a firefox orange box to left corner.. very annoying.. Any one else getting this problem? I have uninstall and reinstall firefox 5 3 times all ready.. i have also uninstall without saving preferences... getting annoyed.. any one? annyone?

  • Allowing evenly spaced double windows on one screen for quikc referencing?

    Hi,
I can’t believe I am asking this but on Windows if you drag the window to the far right or far left it reduces the viewed window to have the screen allowing you to do the same but on the opposite side. This is really good when I am studying and need to keep looking for info on the two separate windows. It saves me from forever having to click on the window I want to view and then click back. Is there an Apple script or something that does the same so I can have the same functionality in my MacBook Pro?
    Thanks
    Matt

I got again a total system freeze today when I wanted to launch firefox using only the openbox menu, without wbar running.
So I decided to try now the 'nouveau.noaccel=1' kernel command line parameter, and to use again wbar for my frequently used applis.
In the Xorg log, the differences are:
    without 'nouveau.noaccel=1'

I will see now if the system is stable enough for my daily usage and gives satisfactory performances.
I am almost sure that the mesa nouveau dri driver is the cause of the freezes.

  • Start transaction shows the original screen within a double window

    Hi SRM-experts,
we are running the SRM5.0 in the classic scenario and are facing the following actual error. After logging on to SRM I click on a transaction (for example "Go shopping") the navigation bar and startscreen is shown again on the right sight. We also running the SRM under the Enterprise Portal and within this scenario no error occured. I checked the OSS and the parameters for the Service BBPSTART in transaction SCIF but without result. Can anybody give me a hint what can be the reason ?
    Thanks

  • Windows Server 2012 Essentials (not R2) - all client computers offline

The server is Windows Server 2012 Essentials (not R2). I have had this problem ever since I first installed the Windows Server 2012 Essentials server in the summer of 2013 (before R2 was released). The Windows Server 2012 Essentials server shows offline
for all Devices under Dashboard. (Allow me to add that I just installed another site with Windows Server 2012 Essentials R2, and it was a breeze - all of the computers at the second install site are online.) I have one Windows 8.1 Pro client and the rest
are Windows 7 Pro clients. The problem occurs on ALL client computers.
I have removed computers from Devices in Dashboard on the server, rebooted the server, changed the client computer to a workgroup, rebooted the client computer, and reinstalled the connector software on the client computer. Same result. I
have tried this on a Windows 7 Pro client and a Windows 8.1 Pro client with the same results.
After running the connector on a client computer and waiting for the server to update its Devices status, if I look under Devices on the server Dashboard, the Windows 8.1 client computer will say online but within 24 hours it goes offline again. The
Windows 7 client computers never show online. Both computers stay offline - they NEVER show an online status (referring to the status under Devices in Dashboard).
I should make it clear that the clients can access the server shares with no problem. File synchronization works great. The clients can ping the server and the server can ping the clients. But client backups on the server fail.
One of the most troublesome things about this problem is that it prevents the client computers from being accessed remotely using the website setup by Anywhere Access. I can login to get remote access to the shared files on the server, but
the only computer that says "online" is the server. All of the other computers are "offline".
The server and clients are only using Windows firewall. The clients all use Microsoft Security Essentials for their anti-virus.
I used a troubleshooting tool that tells me that there are problems with port 6602 on the server, but the clients are all fine with port 6602. I know port 6602 is important for using Anywhere Access but I am still trying to find out more details on that.
I have checked all of the firewall settings related to port 6602 on the server, and the firewall settings look like the standard Windows settings for this port. I used netstat to find the PID associated with the port, and I looked up the PID to find the service.
    That all looked standard, too.
I have been working on this problem since the summer of 2013!! Does anyone have ANY suggestions?!!
    HELP!

    Hi,
Just addition, please check if all necessary Windows updates are installed on those
    “Offline” client computer.
When connect client computers to the Windows Server 2012 Essentials server by using the Connector software, there
will be LAUNCHPAD on the client computer. Was this LAUNCHPAD grayed out? Please check if can access Shared Folders via this LAUNCHPAD. Meanwhile, please ping the Windows Server 2012 Essentials via IP address and server name when client computers show as
    Offline. Any find?
Get Connected in Windows Server Essentials
In addition, please follow the path on Server and client computer:
%programdata%\Microsoft\Windows Server\Logs. Did you check any relevant Server-side logs and
Client-side Logs if find more clues?
    Windows
Server Essentials 2012/2012 R2 Log Files
If any update, please feel free to let us know.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Justin Gu

  • Dashboard causing system freeze

I have just upgraded from a G5 iMac to an Intec iMac - I find that when I select dashboard the windows come "in" to about halfway and then the system freezes and a cold restart is necessary (never happened on the G5 with the same widgets). This doesn't happen every time but much too often - I guess I have a rogue widget, how do I determine which one? - John.

    John Ross4 wrote:
Mihalis, Is there any way I can determine which are Universal and which are not? - John.
The following shows a way to determine if a Widget is Universal.
    iStat pro.wdgt/iStatPro.bundle/Contents/MacOS $ file iStatPro
iStatPro: Mach-O fat file with 2 architectures
iStatPro (for architecture ppc): Mach-O bundle ppc
    iStatPro (for architecture i386): Mach-O bundle i386
But, the first first you should do is determine which Widgets are causing you the problems. Unistall them all and install them one by one until you find the problematic ones.
