Dashboard keeps popping up randomly

I have 10.7.5 installed on my 20 inch intel imac and the dashboard keeps popping up randomly. Incredibly annoying. I have searched for any dashboard prefernces but cannot seem to find any in my pref folder, I have run disc utility and restarted several times. Changed the batteries in my mouse and turned off hot corners. Problem still persists. VERY frustrating.
Any suggestions?

I am new to the MAC world and am having trouble with it. Right now i feel like a bought a lemon and am ready to go back to my PC. The one problem I am having is that the dashboard keeps popping up and flashing on the screen. Am I doing something wrong or is something wrong with my MAC?

FWIW, if you go back, you will be the first person I have heard of to do that
Dashboard is invoked at least two ways:
1. Pressing the F4 key on the keyboard.
2. Pressing (if you have a wired mouse) the scroll wheel.

A request for my admin password keeps popping up randomly and a symbol (5 blue circles surrounding a yellow star) will show in the dock. I haven't typed in my password, just keep cancelling it. itg is called finish_installation.

I can not find this file anywhere on the system after this request shows up!

Doubtful it's malware ...
Try relaunching the Finder. Press Command + Option + Esc then select Finder in Force Quit window then click Restart.
If that doesn't help, launch the Terminal app located in HD > Applications > Utlities
Copy and paste this command into the Terminal window:
killall Dock then press Return or Enter on your keyboard.
The Dock will disappear for must a moment.
See if that made a difference.

The "save as" window keeps popping up randomingly while browsing, WHY?

Literally every few minutes the pop-up asking to "save as" and it just keeps popping up to save the web page. There is nothing wrong with my ctrl and S button on my key board and I cannot figure out why the save as window keeps popping up. I've done a virus scan and there is no negative results. What's the next logic troubleshooting step?

Does it affect some sites more than others?

One standard diagnostic step is to try Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether the misbehavior is caused by a custom setting or add-on.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode] using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
If the annoying messages go away, this points to an add-on or custom setting as the problem. Now the challenge is to track it down!

Iphone 6 "other errors" message keep popping out

Hi, my phone keep getting this error and it keep pops up randomly and i will have to press the "dismiss" button every time it pops up. This message does not give me any details on what errors i'm having with my phone and I have no idea what causing it since I only purchase my phone recently and updated to 8.1.2. So, if your backup contained such data, it will be moved again to this location on the new phone after you restored it from the backup. In addition to that, something else must be going on with your data, because the section is expanding, as you said earlier. This looks like something is being processed over and over again, without any outcome. Did you check the usage and the apps listed in Settings/General/Usage and see if any of the apps listed is almost constantly using the battery?

My firewall keeps popping up with something and goes away too quick to read.

I have a MBP 13" and I have my firewall activated. A box keeps popping up randomly with the yellow caution sign and an "okay" and "cancel" button from what I can make out. The problem is that it pops up and dissapears so fast I cant figure out what its saying. Ive looked on activity monitor and everything seems normal but I dont know enough about whats running to say for sure. The box pops up almost everytime when I boot, and randomly when im surfing the web or another misc. activity on my computer. On my firewall settings, it is blocking "usbmuxd" and i'm not sure why.

Turn off the firewall. It serves no purpose if you're behind a router. Use it only when you're away from home, as on a public hotspot.

I tried double-clicking the Home button which brings up all of the active apps, touched and held the Music icon until all the icons started wiggling, tapped the Close icon in the upper left corner of the Music app to close the app completely, but the app is still open and still randomly stuttering. I did notice that the play button icon flashes in the upper right corner of the screen when this happens and it appears and disappears in concurrence with the Music app stuttering. When the music starts, the icon appears and when it stops, the icon disappears again. When the music stutters on and off, the icon appears and disappears rapidly and in sync with that random glitch. This just started today for no apparent reason. I turned the iPad off, waited 30 seconds and turned it back on. As soon as it was finished starting up, the same music glitch began again immediately. I'm using iOS 6.1.3.

Well, no one seems to have any answers or ideas for me, I'll update what I've been able to accomplish.
I reloaded all 14 disks in the time frame of watching Lord of the Rings on Fri. nite.
Funny thing is, the first disk pulled the info from the online store! Hooray!
Wait-then all the next 13 could find no information online...what the heck is up with that? So I MANUALLY assign each disk a new track # to co-inside with each disk, spent about 2 hours doing that.
But still, itunes tells me my playlist is too large, there's not enough space on the ipod. so I unchecked 1 1/2 disks (I'd listen to 1/2 of disk 1 previously) and voila! there's my ipod full of my book. Finally. But what a lot of bother just to keep things in order!

Windows Help and Support Message box keeps popping up

I am not really sure what happened but my keyboard stopped working. It kept typing out random letters and not the ones I typed. At the same this "Windows Help and Support" box started popping up. So, I can't use my keyboard but the pop up window keeps interuping Netflix and vidoes and I can't watch them and Word documents. Pretty much anything I do gets interupted by this box and stops whatever I am trying to which is trying to build a website at the moment.
I uninstalled the support. It no longer appears in my program list but the box still keeping popping up and stopping everything I am doing.
What I am suppose to do? It doesn't say its the HP Support it says "Windows Help and Support" at the top of the box.
I have tried everything.

This popup is typically caused by a spyware or malware infection. Please follow the steps below and let me know if it helps.

ITunes (10.5) Keeps Popping Up, Help

This is extremely annoying. Ever since I enabled wifi sync on my iphone 4 and ipad 2 itunes keeps randomly popping up out of nowhere. It always shows just my iphone device (not my ipad) on it and it's not even syncing. I even did a wireless sync to see if it will stop and itunes still keeps popping up for no reason. I am running Win7. Any ideas? Is this happening to anyone else?

Same here, same circumstances. Occurring since Wi-Fi sync was enabled on an iPhone and iPad, won't stop despite Wi-Fi being disabled for both now.

Hey, I need some help, I have Windows Vista and if I open iTunes it all seems to work fine, but when I want to minimize it and work on something else it keeps on popping up on top of everything... It continues to do that until I close it completely... I cant live without my music when I'm working... Someone please help!

It's not the mini-player that it bothering me... I minimize iTunes to the system tray and it just keeps on opening randomly over-riding the windows that I have opened... So, if I'm working in Word or something then while I'm typing it just pops up and I have to minimize it again... The only way this stops is if I close it completely which then means no music for me... It's only done this since I downloaded the latest version of it...

Bell keeps popping up

I have the bell with the back slash going thru it keeps popping up on my phone every two seconds. I have shut it off several times and restated it but it does not stop doing it, What can I do

If I had it in a case or had my finger on the switch these would solve the issue. Or, if the mute bell was only coming on when the volume button was pressed, how ever, it is coming on at random times and will go away for a few minutes if I hit the home button, but then reappears. This seems to be a problem experienced by a lot of iPad users so I have trouble thinking it is a bad switch.

Soundmax Master Volume Panel KEEPS POPPING UP on the screen

I have had a Lenovo 3000 laptop for nearly four years.
Suddenly, for no reason I have this problem:
The Soundmax Audio HD Master Volume Panel keeps popping up on the screen. It's very intermittent and seemingly random: sometimes it doesn't happen for 20 minutes; then it pops up every few seconds.
Meanwhile it also often ( but not always ) mutes itself so I have to unmute it to listen to anything.
Whether connected or not the microphone has also not worked for some months now though as I have another machine for Skypeing I don't bother too much about that lack of facility.
Again, I don't know it it is a related problem but sometimes in whatever window I am - maybe a webpage, maybe a wordprocessing page - totally random letters keep popping up along the screen eg:

then after a while it stops. My AVG program claims there is no virus anywhere in the system.

I just repairerd the permisions and stuff, but now i have a new roblem, this pop ups saying the extension cannot be used appear there randomly, there are alot.
