Dashboard Manage Widgets is Hung

I see default widgets. I can add or remove widgets. When removing any widget, [Problem 1] I do not see the X image but a blank white rectangle; I click the rectangle and the widget is removed.
[Problem 2] When I click the Manage widgets, I do not see any screen opening up. I have checked if it is hiding. I want to Manage widgets and am not able to do that.
Kindly help.

Manage Widgets dashboard widget won't close

Hi
I put the manage widgets widget in dashboard up so I could delete a widget and it didn't work. None of the widgets showed up in the list and nothing loaded. I can't close it now. Nothing happens if I click on the x in the corner or if I hold option and click it. How can I close the widget?

From your users account...
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Scroll down to where you see your widgets .plist files. Drag those to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot. See if that unlocks your Manage Widgets window.
Also, Repair Disk Permissions. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select FirstAid, then click: Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.
If that doesn't help, select the Manage Widgets window then press Command + R.

Manage Widgets feature inoperable in Snow Leopard

Unlike many others, my existing widgets seem to work normally. Unfortunately, when I click on "Manage Widgets", nothing happens. It is inoperable. Any thoughts?

KT has already noted the same thing; I had to try it out before I posted.
I'm not sure what is wrong. Sometimes, a plist could be corrupted. Look in your username/Library/Preferences folder for a file called com.apple.dashboard.plist. Move it to your desktop and try managing your widgets. If it doesn't work, try restarting and then try again. If it still doesn't work, you can move it back into the preferences folder and replace the one that is there.
The system will recreate the plist, but you'll probably lose any customizations you've made to some of the widgets and which ones are showing. I removed mine and restarted to see what would happen. It didn't reset anything until I restarted. The Dashboard reverted to the default, but all installed widgets were still there.

How to manage widgets in Mountain Lion?

I am running OS X 10.8.2, and in dashboard, when one clicks on the Plus sign, there is no manage widgets button, only a more widgets button. I wish to delete downloaded widgets. Have tried library widgets file, but downloaded files do not appear. Any help please?

When you finish downloading a .wdgt file, it appears in your downloads(by default, you can change the folder). If you open this file, it gives a dialog: "Install (the widget) ?". If you click "install" or whatever the install confirm button is (I don't remember), it will take you to dashboard and opens the widget.
If you want to delete one, click the "+" and then the "-" (minus sign). The widget icons will vibrate like the icons on launchpad, if you click the "x" it will ask for confirmation to delete the widget.

"Manage Widget" Icon gone

I accidently removed the "manage" widget icon from my dock. Not the "dashboard" icon which displays which widgets you currently have active but this one (just the round icon, not the background:
It came loaded on the dock when i got the laptop and I actually thought it couldn't be removed. Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice or answers

That's not a good sign, I get...
I guess you could Try making a new Folder there called Resources & putting that file in there.
But I'm worried how this could go missing...

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
Reboot & see if it's there now.

Click on the Dashboard Icon - near the left side of the Dock. Click the Plus sign, the click manage Widgets. Add or subtract what you will.
That's the way it works for me.

when i prepare documentation about answers and dashboards in OBIEE, i redact two kinds of documents: user document and develop document.
- user document. In this document, i explain how users should handle prompts, and i explain with an example what they should do for getting results. To brief this, this document explain how to handle the report.
- develop document. It's a technical document, for OBIEE workers. Here i explain for example filters, columns formula...useful for make easy future changes.

Problem in Executing Dimensions in EPM Dashboard Manager

Hi All,
Presently I am facing a problem in refreshing Dimention object in EPMDashboard Manager. The details are as below.
Server:BO enterprise with SP2Tool : EPM Dashboard Manager.
I have created A dimention object, which reads the slices from database. Ihave associated this dimention object to several metrics.This object is created on staging server and is working fine on that server.
I Migrated EPM repository using EPM Migration tool to production server.On this server this dimention object could not refreshed. Due to thisthe Slices are not read from database.
I have attempted to run the dimention through Setup->SystemSetup->Dimentions, but it could not execute.
To rectify this object, i did following ;
1. refresh and update Universe in EPM repository.2. Checked the settings for System User and Parameters (It is perfectly Fine)3. Created a webi report based on the same objects and unverse used inDimension. The report works fine and displays all rows fetched by query(Hence there is not problem of Security on Univerce and UniverceConnection )4. Created a saperate Dimention based on same defination, this also notworking.5. Re-Migrated EPM Repository.
Does any one knows the root cause of this problem?What can be possible work around to resolve the problem?

SAP Dashboard Manager, missing dashboards ?

I have installed SAP B1 8.81 PL04 and everything is working good.
in Dashboard Manager I only have the following in my list :
-Service Call
-Customer Receivables Aging
-Sales Analysis
Is there a package from SAP i can download to add more dashboards ?

Hi Christian,
Our set up consits of having 2 projects. One called Master and the other Support. We created documents in the master e.g Functional Designs, Technical Designs etc (typically a MS Word document) Once they are created in Master, we link the documents to th Support project.
Now, the issue is, when end-users approve documents the Support project (they don't have access to Master), th document disappears from the Support project. The link is somehow gone and we don't know why.

you have to find the keyword to see...
i suggest you to uninstall businessobjects and install again(else it's very hard to add the performance management program).
while you install, check the install performance management also(you have to have the keyword).

Mac Dashboard Ink Widget

I have HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fn. Dashboard ink widget was working fine on my MacBook Pro 15" Early 2011. I recently upgraded to MacBook Pro 15" with Ratina Mid 2014 run Yosemite and migrated my data to my new Mac, Widget no longer communicate with the printer although printer is printing fine. Searching the forum suggested to reinstall. I deleted the old Widget and reinstalled version 12.34 printer drivers. Widget did not install. I saw no "Setup Assistance" included. Even, when I used the "Setup Assistance" from my old Mac, it did not show the option of installing "Widget". Any help is much appreciated.

It is possible the software has changed and there is no longer a widget. What you can do is, check the Applications folder, look for the HP folder and if you find the Widget there you can create a short cut.
The older version was version 12.23, thus the issue could very well be the difference in software.
The migrated date would have been problematic because it is incompatible with 10.10.

Dashboard movie widget not working

Every couple of days it just spins and spins and cannot find any results. If I replace it with a new copy from manage widgets, it works again, but like I said, only for a few days. Any permanent solution?

I don't have a solution, but I didn't want to start a new thread for a similar problem. I'm having the same issue. However every once in a while after a couple refreshes I do get results, but there is no artwork for any of the movies and none of the links work in the widget. I'm using OS 10.7. Hopefully it's just a server issue.

what is the time delay of the stocks rate reflected in the dashboard stocks widget. also, does the same answer apply to the stocks app in iphone?

From memory my Stocks Widget says that the quotes are delayed by 20 minutes although having said that I note that even though the FTSE data is changing (ie, that market is open), the information line at the bottom says that "Markets closed (5:54 PM)" which I assume it to be referring to the Australian market given that I am in Western Australia. My iPhone Stocks app says "Quotes delayed 20 minutes" even though the Australian market (the one I have selected) is closed. Go figure.
