Hi All,
We Have BOBJ 4.1 SP05 Edge edition and Dashboard(Xcelsius) 4.1. What is Dashboard manager how can i install dashboard manager or can i use Dashboard itself. Can some one tell me how can i install dashboard manager.

when i prepare documentation about answers and dashboards in OBIEE, i redact two kinds of documents: user document and develop document.
- user document. In this document, i explain how users should handle prompts, and i explain with an example what they should do for getting results. To brief this, this document explain how to handle the report.
- develop document. It's a technical document, for OBIEE workers. Here i explain for example filters, columns formula...useful for make easy future changes.

Problem in Executing Dimensions in EPM Dashboard Manager

Hi All,
Presently I am facing a problem in refreshing Dimention object in EPMDashboard Manager. The details are as below.
Server:BO enterprise with SP2Tool : EPM Dashboard Manager.
I have created A dimention object, which reads the slices from database. Ihave associated this dimention object to several metrics.This object is created on staging server and is working fine on that server.
I Migrated EPM repository using EPM Migration tool to production server.On this server this dimention object could not refreshed. Due to thisthe Slices are not read from database.
I have attempted to run the dimention through Setup->SystemSetup->Dimentions, but it could not execute.
To rectify this object, i did following ;
1. refresh and update Universe in EPM repository.2. Checked the settings for System User and Parameters (It is perfectly Fine)3. Created a webi report based on the same objects and unverse used inDimension. The report works fine and displays all rows fetched by query(Hence there is not problem of Security on Univerce and UniverceConnection )4. Created a saperate Dimention based on same defination, this also notworking.5. Re-Migrated EPM Repository.
Does any one knows the root cause of this problem?What can be possible work around to resolve the problem?

SAP Dashboard Manager, missing dashboards ?

I have installed SAP B1 8.81 PL04 and everything is working good.
in Dashboard Manager I only have the following in my list :
-Service Call
-Customer Receivables Aging
-Sales Analysis
Is there a package from SAP i can download to add more dashboards ?

Hi Christian,
Our set up consits of having 2 projects. One called Master and the other Support. We created documents in the master e.g Functional Designs, Technical Designs etc (typically a MS Word document) Once they are created in Master, we link the documents to th Support project.
Now, the issue is, when end-users approve documents the Support project (they don't have access to Master), th document disappears from the Support project. The link is somehow gone and we don't know why.

you have to find the keyword to see...
i suggest you to uninstall businessobjects and install again(else it's very hard to add the performance management program).
while you install, check the install performance management also(you have to have the keyword).

Metric analytics in Dashboard Manager

Is there any documentation that covers this? I have no problem with IMTs but when trying to create/edit Predictive Analytics, etc. I always receive a "CI_PROBE (or CI_TSF or CI_COMPA) Universe not Found". I have to believe this related to the way our analytics package was deployed, but I just can't track down any documentation.

Download Dashboard Manager

Hi,
We are having BO XI R2 SP3 installed on Solaris Server. We want to Download Dashboard Manager.
Could you please let me know the steps involved in downloading Dashboard Manager.
We have also done some customization, like changing the Infoview Timeout and LDAP Authentication instead of BO Authentication and some BI homepage changes. If we have to reinstall BO Enterprise to get Dashboard Manager will these customizations be lost?

Infoview Vs Dashboard Manager

Hi All,
I am confused,
1) What is Dash Board Manager and Different between Xcelsius & Dashboard Manager ??
2) I see something called Dashboards in the Infoview Page Menu
3) Is there something that I need to configure for Dashboard Manager
4) Which version Does it belongs to??

in Xi3.1, Dashboard Manager is the "Performance Management" (PMDM) presentation layer that can be integrated into InfoView, that also has ties with Set Analyzer. It has nothing to do with Xcelsius dashboards, and will require seperate license, install and config.
In BI4.0, this PMDM stuff no longer exists, and has been replaced by BI Workspaces and 'content linking' in the standard BILaunchPad , where you can use Xcelsius Dashboards.

Dashboard Manage Widgets is Hung

I see default widgets. I can add or remove widgets. When removing any widget, [Problem 1] I do not see the X image but a blank white rectangle; I click the rectangle and the widget is removed.
[Problem 2] When I click the Manage widgets, I do not see any screen opening up. I have checked if it is hiding. I want to Manage widgets and am not able to do that.
Kindly help.

BOE XI 3.1 Performance Manager/Dashboard Manager - Import Customer Calendar

I am trying to load a custom calendar in Performance Manager through the interface using the Import Calendar. I have followed the format correctly and loaded the CSV file onto BOE. When i try and load the calendar it keeps giving me error message and doesn't load. The error message is irrelevant to me i just need to know has anyone managed to load a calendar through the import calendar from BOE i.e. InfoView (Portal) successfully?
Also there is no separate topic on the Performance Manager on this forum so had to post in general.
Any comments would be appreciated.

Dashboards do not display data

I am new to Business Objects dashboards. I built my universe & exported it to performance management to build reports & dashboards. Some how in performance management tool I am able to build web intelligence reports but not dashboards. To build dashboards, I define my measures & dimensions. When I go to crate new analytic I am not able to see any data. In analytic, against my measures it shows null values. However in web intelligence reports everything gets displayed. I wonder why? Does it have to do something with settings???

When you refresh the metrics, are the time fields disabled or not?? If not then be sure to not use any kind of aggregation in the universe since the dashboard manager requires unaggregated data from the universe. I fyour using any functions (SUM, COUNT... etc) then remove them and try again. Hopefully the problem will be solved.

How to delete Dashboard Widget processes?

I had 2 widgets (California Coastal Cams and NZ Mac, the first being webcam images of the California Coast and the latter being New Zealand Radio). For a variety of reasons I don't remember (nothing to do with disliking either place, I love Calif, used to live there, and NZ is cool, tho not been there yet) i deleted the widgets. Went to the Dashboard "Manage Widgets" thingy and got rid of 'em.
Now, my problem: although I trashed them months ago, Activity Monitor and iStat pro both say they exist. The processes are running. I go to Activity Monitor and stop the processes, but they show up as running sometime later (Perhaps after a restart or an awaken from sleep mode.)
How do I get rid of these processes, to make them not show up in any fashion in AM or iStat? Do I go into Terminal and "kill" them? (I've never done that, but am eager to explore Unix.)

If you mean just to close it, press the "+" icon in the bottom left and then click the 'x' on each widget to close.

Problem in refreshing Performance Manager Metric

Hi,
We are Using SAP BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SP3.
On this environment, we have configured SAO BO Performance manager / Dashboard manager Application (not EPM).
While refreshing the metric following error occurs;
Error:The probe engine cannot query the repository.(EPM 03008)<Metric Name> : ORA-00936:missing expression
Any clue on this?
BTW, I have tried to debug the problem and verified that, the query generated for metric is syntactically correct and runs without any problem (when @prompt replaced by actual date).
Some more details are as below;
Created a Calendar (Monthly) and also Created a Dimension.
The Connection is created which has privileges to access both PM Repository Schema and the Report Data Schema.

the very simple strategy to do is to call removeAllItems() method for the 2nd combox box and then insert the contents. this is because the validate() method is not repeatedly called and so the contents are not updated immediately.

Dashboard refresh - ORA-24373 invalid length specified for statement

I am getting the following error message in the log file "ORA-24373: invalid length specified for statement" when trying to refresh a metric via dashboard manager. The metric has been successfully refreshed previously. The only change that I am aware of is that more data has been added to the underlying database (Oracle 10g).
There are a number of different filters on the metric - some work ok - some give the above error.
Can anyone help?
