DAT Drive not registering on sunfire V240

Hi,
I have 9 SUN v240 with which i connected the same DAT drive HP 72GB DDS DAT (PART NUMBER C7439). In six servers
did devfsadm and it registered the DAT. It worked fine but in three of the SUN v240, this command doesnt seem to
do anything. /dev/rmt is not created. I cannot restart the server because they are live/production servers. Is there
any other solution to get this DAT recognised in solaris with out a reboot. Also, i cannot go to OBP (OK prompt) because
ofcourse it needs a reboot.
I checked the st.conf file and the entries of these file are the same in all 9 v240. So i think its not a problem of
st.conf.
Eargerly waiting for a solution.
Here are some of the command outputs from 1 of the 3 servers which donot see the DAT:

Sorry Simon, but I had to jump in on that.
You are correct that they'll need to probe from OBP, however...
jumping down from an active OS will leave much in various bus registers and they'll lock up the entire system when a probe is done that way. They'll have to power-cycle the chassis to recover.
Vassilios,
When you have the chance for testing this system, bring the chassis down to the OBP level. ( init 0 is acceptable ) then do:
OK setenv auto-boot? false <enter>
OK reset-all <enter>
The chassis will cycle and automatically stop at the OK prompt, with empty bus registers, and you can probe all you wish.
The peripheral MUST be seen at the hardware level before an OS can dream of manipulating it.
But, if I may ask...
You attached the tape peripheral to where?
(the integrated onboard SCSI connector or to an add-on card?)
Is it a Single-Ended SCSI device, a HVD SCSI device, or a LVD SCSI device?
If your cable is attached to an appropriate add-on card, do you need to install any packages for that card?

  • Oracle ODBC driver not register in Windows

    hi,
i notice that the oracle odbc driver is not register as one of the data source in the windows. Do anyone having this problem too?? and any solutions??
I've installed Oracle 10.2.0.1.0 on a windows XP platform. When i want to create a data source in the ODBC, i realize that the oracle driver is not there...
    thanks in advance

    hi,
i've checked, oracle odbc is installed in my machine, but it is not appear in the windows data source ODBC (control panel > administrative tools > Data Sources (ODBC)).
I've tried to uninstall and re-install, again the oracle odbc is installed in my machine but never appear in the windows data source ODBC. Is there a way to made it appear in the windows manually?
    thanks

  • Custom Data Provider Not Registered in Report Server (Sql Server 2012)

We have a simple test report project set up and can preview the reports with no errors or problems from the designer. We can deploy the report project, but when trying to view the reports from the browser, we get the following error:
An error as occurred during report processing, (rsProcessingAborted)
An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'LiMeDAS' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)
I have followed this article that explained how to register a data provider extension:
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-ca/library/bb326409.aspx
I have placed the assemblies in:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.LIMEDAS\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin
Added the following line to the rsreportserver config file (inside the <extensions><data> tags)
    <Extension Name="LiMeDAS" Type="Limedas.Data.Provider.LimedasConnection,Limedas.Data.Provider"/>
and finally added the following to the rssrvpolicy config file (inside the top level CodeGroup tag):
    <CodeGroup class="UnionCodeGroup" version="1" PermissionSetName="FullTrust" Name="LiMeDASDataProviderCodeGroup" Description="Grants permission to the LiMeDAS data processing extension for reporting services.">
                  <IMembershipCondition class="UrlMembershipCondition" version="1" Url="C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.LIMEDAS\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\Limedas.Data.Provider.dll"
    />
                </CodeGroup>
We have the data extension set up perfectly for the designer, because I can see it as a type of connection and the preview works in the designer.
But, for some reason it does not work in the server. They were set up the same way, but the server will not work. From the report manager page, when we try to add a data source, the only type option is Sql Server, none of the other extensions mentioned in
the config file. Does anyone know what else could cause this issue?

    Hi Justin,
According to the error message and the issue can be caused by the edition of your SSRS is not support for the custom data provider. For example the express edition have limitation support on this:
Features Supported by the Editions of SQL Server 2012 .
If your edition is the supportted edition and the issue can be caused by the custom data provider do not necessarily support all the functionality supplied by Reporting Services data processing extensions. In addition, some OLE DB data providers and ODBC
drivers can be used to author and preview reports, but are not designed to support reports published on a report server. For example, the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Jet is not supported on the report server. For more information, see
Data Processing Extensions and .NET Framework Data Providers (SSRS).
If you are running on a 32-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for a 32-bit platform. If you are running on a 64-bit platform, the data provider must be compiled for the 64-bit platform. You cannot use a 32-bit data provider wrapped with 64-bit
interfaces on a 64 bit platform.

    Hello Danny,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
I found this article for you to help troubleshoot why the calendar data is not syncing over to your devices.
It is named Mac OS X: Resetting the SyncServices folder found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627.
There are different instructions depending on your OS in the article.
If for some reason the issue persists, I would take a look at the article named Sync Services: Advanced troubleshooting for contact and calendar syncing located here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2481.

  • Read data driver not giving exact values

I am trying to get the data from an OSA usinf the Labview read data
instrument driver. It most of  the time shows the spectrum similar
to the OSA in the Labview waveform grapf but the values, meaning the
x-axis and y-axis values do not at all correspond. I tried changing the
range using min,max and increment but did not work. Please advise. Here
is the snapshot of the graph obtained and the little program is also
    attached.

ok i didnt really know what i was writing about then
but still i know from my own experience that the 2 types of graphs behave in different way when user tries to format x-axis
i had a program where 1 frame (have multiple frames in while function to control an instrument) was devoted to reading from the instrument and displaying a graph
i read not only data but also start/stop points on x axis
before i displayed data i used this additional info to format the graph using property nodes and it worked but then i pased data to the graph and x-axis was forced back to display number of points (i also set labels in the same way and it worked perfectly well for labels)
it also resulted in graph flickering
that was when i was using waveform graph, changing it simply to xy graph (and casting data to proper format)  fixed the bug
this hint and the explanation: 'Waveform graphs plot data as a function of time, you can't directly define the data on the X Plot. To do this you need to use an XY graph.' i got from one NI engineer:

  • A205-S5879 Multi-drive driver not registering properly

For some reason the driver for the cd/dvd rom isn't working.  Which in turn makes it so the dvd drive doesn't work at all (except for booting when set to first boot device) but then it only gives options for reloading the computer.  I try to reinstall the driver but can't, keeps using the same one.  I've been trying to find anything to help, and haven't yet.  If anyone has info, please don't hesitate to let me know, worst comes to worst, I'll reload the darn thing.  Thanks

    Satellite A205-S5879
The drivers for optical drives are not available separately. They are native to Windows Vista.
To reinstall them, right-click the drive in Device Manager and click Uninstall. The driver is reinstalled when Windows is restarted.

  • Access ODBC Driver not appearing in Create New Data Source List

When I run C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe  the Access driver is not showing up as an option. I'm running Windows 7 professional and Access 2013.  I'm guessing the driver is on my machine and is either not registered or the registry
has the wrong location. I have looked under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>ODBC>ODBCINST.INI and see no references to an Access driver in any subfolders.
I think I need the name of the driver .dll and where it needs to be registered to fix the problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi Joe,
According to your description, after you run C:\Windows\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe, Access driver is not displayed when you expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>ODBC>ODBCINST.INI node.
The issue is caused by wrong path of odbccad32, please make sure that you are using Administrator account or you have administrative privileges, then refer to the following steps:
    Go to Control Panel.
    Click Administrative Tools.
Right-click Data Sources(ODBC) to open Properties dialog box.
In Target text box, type  %windir%\syswow64\odbcad32.exe
In Start in text box, type %windir%\syswow64, then click OK to  save the settings.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.
    Thanks,
    Wendy Fu

Help. transfered my itunes liberary via a hard drive to a new lap top. wasnt easy, cant play any thing I bought on the old computer says this one not registered? I found this article some time ago when I was trying to help someone else in this same situation. This is a copy and paste from the website. The website is provided below for you to read before you try this.
    Plug your phone into iTunes
Click setup as a new device
Immediately unplug your phone from the computer
Give it about 30 seconds and iTunes will give a message (I don’t remember the specific, but regarding you unplugging the device and it not completing)
    Plug your phone back in
Viola! no restore occurred and you can access everything again
This computer has previously synced with an iPhone or another iOS device.

  • JDBC Driver not found when connecting to Data Federator XI 3.0 SP3

    Hello,
I am trying to connect Crystal 2008 to Data Federator however I am getting the Error
    Failed to open connection.
    Details: JDBC Driver not found.
The JDBC Drivers are installed and working for the Universe Designer, however I am unable to get it working for Crystal. I am using the following connection parameters on Crystal:
    Connection URL: jdbc:datafederator://<<servername>>:3055/<<catalog>>
    Database Classname: com.businessobjects.datafederator.jdbc.DataFederatorDriver
Any Advice on what I may have missed?

The issue was solved, thanks to Patric Wan:
u201CFailed to open the connection. Details: JDBC driver not found.u201D
This means Data Federator JDBC driver was not added to:
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects\common\<version>\java\CRConfig.xml
How to connect the Data Federator Server using JDBC?
    1. Retrieve the following files from the machine where Data Federator is installed, from the directory [data-federator-installation-dir]/JdbcDriver/lib.
        - thindriver.jar
        - avalon-framework-4.1.5.jar
        - jacorb.jar
        - log4j-1.2.8.jar
        - logkit-1.2.jar
    2. Copy these files to a directory of your choice ([your-jdbc-driverdirectory]).
    3. Add [your-jdbc-driver-directory]/thindriver.jar to CRConfig.xml   <Add to Classpath tag, you can refer to original sample.CRConfig.xml should be at: C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Common\4.0\java\CRConfig.xml, or search your BOBJ products install to find this file>
    4. URL: jdbc:leselect://<host>[:<port>][/[<catalog>]][[;param-name=value]*]

There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4".  Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files.  Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen.  Do you not have a backup?  The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear.

  • How do I get an NTFS hard drive containing data to NOT show up as bootable in boot camp?

Hi, somehow in the process of getting Win7 x64, Windows XP, and OSX Lion installed on my 1,1 MacPro, one of my data hard drives (NTFS formatted) has "picked up" a boot directory, boot mgr, etc. entries. It now shows up as a start-up disk choice in Boot Camp. Not.
    Should I:
    1. Just delete the boot entries and directory (I bet not)
    2. Use diskpart to remove that GPT partition (the boot partition) on that data drive
    3. Or do I need to use a partition tool to remove the bootable attributes? I would just ignore it, but it appears to be borking my Windows 7 start up occassionally.
    Thanks,
    Les

Do you hear the drive spin up?
You may want to contact the manufacturer and ask for a replacement power adapter/cord and see if that helps.
Personally, I think there has been some damage to the circuitry inside the enclosure, which really can't be repaired.
