Data Access Issue

I have a report set up that is available to all European users.  A couple of  weeks ago a Greece user reported that he was not able to see any data for a particular plant.  When he would run the report for that specific plant, he would get back "No applicable data", when in fact there is data in the cube for that  plant.  After some further testing, I've been able to confirm that this is happening for all Greek users - they are not able to see data for Plant GR50.
I've opened a service request with security, thinking that some roles needed to be added to his profile, but they don't believe that this is a security related issue.  For starters, there is no authorization object on 0PLANT.  Secondly, the cube does not have any authorization objects set up.   They also made a point to say that if it was security related, the users would get some sort of authorization error and not just "No applicable data".
I've consulted with my own team members and got a few suggestions but to no avail.  Some folks recall that this has happened in the past but do not remember exactly what the fix was.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you try and have security clone the same roles and profiles that the non Greece users use and then have the Greece user test it with that test id to see if he can get the data for the plant.
If yes, then, you'll need to see what is the difference between the roles of the Greece and non Greece users and also what authorizations are different.
If that dosen't work, suggest you create a separate role for the Greece users to access data for that plant and assign it to all the Greek user ids, so they can see the data. This'll be just a temporary solution till you find the root cause.

    you can do this in 2 ways:

  • Promise Pegasus R6 mounting/data access issues

    We have a Pegasus R6 drive that is used for Time Machine backups and also data storage. It is connected to a Mac Mini Server running 10.7.5. Currently I have turned off all Time Machine backups and taken the drive off the network as it was crashing every time one of our Macs would try to access it to back up. It is now having all kinds of issues, not mounting, not turning off, if it does mount can't access files, if you can see the files you can't copy them, etc. etc. The Promise Utility doesn't see the drive. Disk Utility says everything is just fine with the drive. I have important files on there that I'm just trying to get off to save them and it copies for a bit and then just stops and freezes.
    The drives firmware is up to date and the Promise Utility is the latest. We did not move to Mavericks on the Mac Mini Server as we were concerned with compatibility issues.
    I've put in a ticket with Promise, but it's out of warranty so I don't know how much they'll help me. There are no Promise "forums" or discussion groups, no help there.
    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!

    Try other cables, if you can.
    Are you using the mini to try to retrieve the data?
    Is the drive making any unusual noises? If so, that often means there's some hardware that's failing.
    I would copy data in very small chunks, and just be patient. Plan to spend a LOT of time "babying" the drive to get all your files from it.
    Can you remove the drive from its enclosure? Or is it all sealed up and essentially "stuck" inside?
    If you can remove it, you could get a new enclosure or a SATA to USB adapter and try using that to connect the drive. Sometimes the enclosures fail but the drives are just fine.

  • SMP 3.0 data access issue.

    Hi ,
    I created an application using SMP 3.0. Am able to register and fetch the odata from SMP 3.0 server and able to display the data on the Andriod emulator on desktop.Its working fine on the desktop . But when i run the same appliction on Andriod tablet device its giving me status "0" error . Help me out with this error.

    Jithendra- it works perfectly fine for me with basic auth but fails when i use certificate auth. Hence, the query if anyone has successfully implemented offline caching with client certs.
    Not sure if the Odata iOS SDK has a bug

  • SCOM 2012 Issue The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized

    My SCOM 2012 console all of sudden stopped working when I changed the size of the SQL database for the SCOM server.
    The setup is all on a virtual machine running windows 2012, with SQL 2012 running SCOM 2012 SP1. Everything was working until I made the SQL server database size change.
    Now I am getting an error when I try to open the SCOM 2012 console. It just says Failed to connect to server servername.internaldomain.com The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized. Check the event log for more information.

    The issue got resolved after refresh the SCOM Data base access service  account in SQL 2012.
    Unable to launch the operations manager 2012 R2 console after extended the C drive of the SQl server ,getting error "The Data
    Access service is either not
    running or not yet initialized.
    Got to your SQL server -->databases-operationsmanager--security-users--locate the daa service account and refresh.issue fixed and am able to luanch.

  • Issue with Data Access Profile

    Hi Experts,
         Facing issue while using Data Access Profiles:
    I have created a data access profile ,giving access to only limited members for  a particular model.
    While logging in using a particular user id which is assigned to this data access profile I am able to see all the members for which the access is denied
    and I am also able to manipulate the transaction data. But in data access profile I have provided only read access.
    Recently,the system has been upgraded with a new support package after which we are facing the issue.
    Please help us solving the issue.

  • Windows Service Enterprise Library Data Access Application Blocks Connection Pooling Issue

    We are developing a windows service using c# .net v 4.5.1 which communicates with SQL database (SQL 2008 R2 x64), communication with SQL server is done using Enterprise Library data access block v 6, The windows service does a file copy process in bulk &
    updates the database about the status of file copy, it is observed that as soon as we start the service the number of connections get max out & we start receiving a "Timeout expired.  The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection
    from the pool.  This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and max pool size was reached."
    This issue is only observed when we run the code logic by deploying it as a windows service, When we run the exactly same code as a standalone exe (right click -> run as administrator) / non windows service, the connections on database are not exceeded
    & we do not receive the above mentioned error.
    The code block which makes calls to the database is under the c# "using" statement, hence connection pooling should be handled by default.
    Could you please recommend any suggestions on areas which I might have missed on to investigate this issue.

    I am trying to install the Data Access software on one of my many workstations and am having an issue with one of them. When the installer comes up it gives me an error:

    I do not know if I have the correct forum for this post. I hve put it in what I believe is the most likely best forum, but please move this if there is a more germane forum for it.
    I have inherited a solution (C#) which uses the reference Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data. The reference was included with the codebase I inherited, there are no missing references.
    When the library is called with:

    I assumed this stored procedure is built on the fly to select from that table? Must I do something regarding  Enterprise Library's Data Access Application so that this works on the system I am running it on? (I am simply accessing the references

    Why do you assume that a stored procedure is create on the fly?  Looking at the documentation for this component, I don't see a mention of such.

  • I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build.  The same call works fine when running on the device

    I have a production mobile Flex app that uses RemoteObject calls for all data access, and it's working well, except for a new remote call I just added that only fails when running with a release build. The same call works fine when running on the device (iPhone) using debug build. When running with a release build, the result handler is never called (nor is the fault handler called). Viewing the BlazeDS logs in debug mode, the call is received and send back with data. I've narrowed it down to what seems to be a data size issue.
    I have targeted one specific data call that returns in the String value a string length of 44kb, which fails in the release build (result or fault handler never called), but the result handler is called as expected in debug build. When I do not populate the String value (in server side Java code) on the object (just set it empty string), the result handler is then called, and the object is returned (release build).
    The custom object being returned in the call is a very a simple object, with getters/setters for simple types boolean, int, String, and one org.23c.dom.Document type. This same object type is used on other other RemoteObject calls (different data) and works fine (release and debug builds). I originally was returning as a Document, but, just to make sure this wasn't the problem, changed the value to be returned to a String, just to rule out XML/Dom issues in serialization.
    I don't understand 1) why the release build vs. debug build behavior is different for a RemoteObject call, 2) why the calls work in debug build when sending over a somewhat large (but, not unreasonable) amount of data in a String object, but not in release build.
    I have't tried to find out exactly where the failure point in size is, but, not sure that's even relevant, since 44kb isn't an unreasonable size to expect.
    By turning on the Debug mode in BlazeDS, I can see the object and it's attributes being serialized and everything looks good there. The calls are received and processed appropriately in BlazeDS for both debug and release build testing.
    Anyone have an idea on other things to try to debug/resolve this?
    Platform testing is BlazeDS 4, Flashbuilder 4.7, Websphere 8 server, iPhone (iOS 7.1.2). Tried using multiple Flex SDK's 4.12 to the latest 4.13, with no change in behavior.

    After a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
    The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList.  Changing it to List resolved the problem.
    I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid.  And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger.  Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.

  • 0187 EAIA Data access error Lenovo Twist

    When the error happend the systemboard was replaced (0187 EAIA Data access error on startup), and the error came back up again.  Replaced the systemboard again and the error persists.  Can't update eprom serial information because of this error.  I currently have about 6 machines doing the same thing, and was wondering if anyone else had experianced this issue?

    I get the same error on a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad S540 (+-1 month old). Besides that first issue I'm also getting these errors:
    2200: Machine Type and Serial Number are invalid
    2201: Machine UUID is invalid
    These occur together and only in about one out of every ten boots.
    Curious what's wrong here.

  • "unable to connect to the data access service" installing report server

    Trying to do a 2 server SCOM 2012 R2 install on Server 2012 w/SQL 2012.  Management server and operations console on one, and SQL, web console, and reporting server on the other.  When I get to the web console and reporting server install, and
    the "Specify Management Server" screen, I input the 1st management server name and it gives me a red X with the message:
    "Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server. Ensure the Data Access service is running and that the service, the management group, and setup are all the same version."  
    Here is the setup log error:  
    "Info: :Could not connect to Management Server: scom-app with exception: Threw Exception.Type: System.ArgumentException, Exception Error Code: 0x80070057, Exception.Message: Version string portion was too short or
    too long."
    I don't see the "Data Access" service in services on either server.  I followed all of the setup prereqs in SCOM 2012 unleashed book, and also referenced this article for setup advice:

    Everything seems to be working until I get to this point.

    1. Did the setup complete successfully on the MS and Console server?
    >>>Yes, without issue
    2. You do not see the service "System Center Data Access Service"
    >>>I do indeed see it on the MS and Console server, it is set to Auto and running.  (I also tried rebooting this server and retried, no help)
    3. Is the Windows Firewall enabled?
    >>>It has symantec endpoint protection.  I disabled symantec completely on both servers and retried, no help.

  • The Date Accessed attribute is resetting to all the files in a folder

    Hi all,
    I have an issue that the "Date Accessed" attribute is often resetting to all the files in a folder if i open single file as this folder is from File server mapped as Drive to me. This is happening to all the users whoever connect to that fileserver
    and i see same issue from RDP as well. is there any option to check which is resetting the "Date Accessed" attribute to all the files. The Date Access attribute is simillar to Date accessed and Date modified. We need to fix this issue as it is related
    to security concern for us. The file server is windows 2008 R2 and the client machines are windows 7.
    Side note: I can see that there is no software, antivirus, offline sycn is causing this issue.

    Hi,
    It seems that some specific process accessed the files and updated the attribute. You could configure auditing on the shared folder. Then you can go through the auditing log to check which process is doing the read operation on all these files.

  • Solaris 8 hangs and data access error on reboot

    Hi
    using solaris 5.8 on UltraSPARC-IIi 360MHz.
    I know it is an old hardware but similiar hardware is running fine. here is the issue,
    System booted : works okay for some time then display was hung so system was rebooted ..it gave data access error. again rebooted and it came up fine..

    Is it a CPU problem or Hard disk or memory issue ? or something else ?
    what could be solution , a kernel patch is an option ?

    I cant see the /var/adm/messages output, Since you have already performed a Full Diagnostic check, then you boot your solaris using CD and then perform full FSCK on root File Systems and see any errors get reported. Keep doing fsck 2 -3 times untill all the errors are clean.
    Also you must check the latest patches available for this system architecture.
