Data Analysis and Regressions

I am looking into getting Numbers, but need it for statistic analysis, referred to data analysis in excel. Does anyone know if Numbers can us data analysis for regressions and descriptive statistics?

Compared to Excel, Numbers is weak in statistics functions. If you are creative, you can get by with Numbers, but you will probably not be happy with Numbers as a statistics tool.

  • Vendor due date analysis and vendor aging wise analysis

Could u please explain vendor due date analysis and vendor aging wise analysis. what is the differnce between and with t code y specify

    Hi Venkatkumar,
Vendor due date analysis refers to the date on which the bill becomes due for payment based on the payment terms and base date. It gives a detailed report of all vendors whose bill have become due for payment on a particular date (Key Date).
Vendor agewise analysis refers to the grouping of amounts due to vendors for various periods, for e.g. 0-30 Days, 31-60 Days, 61-90 Days & so on.
T code for Vendor due date analysis is S_ALR_87012078 - Due Date Analysis for Open Items.
T code for Vendor agewise analysis S_ALR_87012084 - Open Items - Vendor Due Date Forecast
    Thank You.

  • BI Content: AC Neilsen Integrated Syndicated Data Analysis

Has anyone used the BI Content for ACNeilsen Syndicated Data?  We are interested in the 2 data targets provided in BC,
0CP_SLSC3 (ACNeilsen Syndicated Data Analysis) and
0CP_SLSC2 (ACNeilsen Syndicated Data Integration).  Can you provide any insight or watchouts for updates?  I understand that the Data Integration is updated by Billing Items.  Is there any special config that needs to occur to properly update?
Your experience with this is appreciated.

  • IPad Excel Data Analysis Function

    Hello there,
I am stuck with a question no one seems able to answer- I've tried all three of our local Apple stores and they haven't been able to tell me. I also don't know any iPad users that have been able to give me an answer either.
I have been using a 5S and am very familiar with the functionality of Numbers and Pages. However, I'm a finance student and the fact of the matter is that I have to have access to Excel. I've invested YEARS and thousands of dollars into the iOS ecosystem and I'm very torn over what to do next. I'm hoping to migrate permanently from a laptop to a tablet for my productivity, which involves extremely heavy duty (5+ hours daily) word processing and spreadsheet creation. Pages handles the job just fine, but Numbers isn't really cutting it; Excel is simply the de facto standard in my line of work. I was pleased as punch when Microsoft finally launched Office for iOS. If the simple functions were all I needed, my choice would be open and shut. However, it's not. I must have access to the Solver and Data Analysis toolpaks. This is where it gets tricky. I have been told by Mac users running Excel that data analysis is not natively supported as it is on a Windows machine. Fine. However, no one I know is using full Office through iOS and no one at the Apple Store has been able to answer me definitively on this, either. Does anyone out there know first hand if the Data Analysis and Solver toolpaks are available on iOS version of Office? I would like to avoid fussing around with another tablet (quality, etc) and the fact that iOS is the only mobile operating suite where I can seemlessly blend Google, Apple and Microsoft, I am really, really, really hesitant to leave it. I am not willing to shell out the money for Office on iOS and run it on my phone (though I love that idea) just to find that it won't do data analysis (I'm all for experiments but that's a bit pricey for a student). Thanx for your time.
TL:DR, does the new Microsoft Office for iOS provide Solver and Data Analysis toolpaks in Excel?

I know what the toolpaks are (in the Mac version of Excel they're referred to as "add ins"), and again, I can find no evidence that Microsoft supports toolpaks/add-ins in Excel for iPad.
If you wish to confirm this with other users, I'd suggest you ask in the Excel for iPad forum:

  • Data Federator data lineage and impact analysis

    Hi,
I am looking for the use of data lineage and impact analysis feature in data federator at Universe level.
Can I know which objects are using which fields by uisng impact feature in the data federator.
    Thanks in Advance.

I realize this answer is a cop out but I'll suggest it anyway. Upgrade.
I struggled with getting the lineage and impact analysis working in 10.1 and had to do quite a bit of trial and error in the Apache configuration files, DAD's ,etc. because the lineage reports were web based. I never got them working in Production due to other much more pressing implementation issues at the time and never went back to fix them.
In 10.2 and above the reports are much easier to get with no real configuration needed.
Anyway, back to your question, I would suggest going back through the 10.1 documentation on getting those to work and have someone a bit familiar with setting up Apache help you. I did get them working in our Test environment but its been so long I can't recall all the steps and tricks, sorry.

  • Having difficulty reading data file and doing analysis, maybe DIAdem can help

    Hello,
I am new to DIAdem but I think it may be helpful to my application.
I used Write Labview Measurement File VI with n-signals input to generate a data file containing 2*n columns(time column and data column iteratively). Now I need to do data analysis from the file. I'd tried to use Read Labview Measurement File VI to load the data but didn't work. I found that it can only read file with one signal as input and without file header. But why?
What I want to do is to extract specific columns from the file. Some column has special flag values which divide the column into sections. I also need to extract these sections from the column and plot each of them. I know this can be easily done on other data analysis software but is there any way I can do it on Labview? Can DIAdem help with this?
    Thank you

    Hello,
To answer your last question first, DIAdem can certainly help. You can open the TDM file you created with the Write LabVIEW Measurement File VI with DIAdem. If you navigate to the TDM file in the External Data window of DIAdem NAVIGATOR, you can drag and drop the file into the Data Portal and use the channels of data at will.
You can also right-click on the file in the External Data window and choose Selective Opening…. There is a Help button in the Selective Opening window which will tell you more about using this feature.
Either way, once your data is in the Data Portal, you can use the DIAdem ANALYSIS to perform a wide range of analysis on your data. For more on the capabilities of DIAdem, I recommend starting at NI DIAdem.
Now, in regards to using the LabVIEW to access the data in your TDM file, this is also possible. If you are using LabVIEW 7.1, you will want to look at the Read Channel Groups example. This example uses a sequence of VIs from the Functions>>All Functions>>FileI/O>>Storage palette. The example demonstrates reading multiple channels from a TDM file.

  • Problem with Data Model and Analysis View

I create an analyze in BI Publisher and then i create a data model using this object.
When i try to generate an XML with a number of rows the BI Publisher return an empty XML (Only with de DATA_DS tags but no data).   To bypass this problem i make and XML file by hand and this allow me to create reports and design it but when i try to view the reports i got the message that says "No Data Found".
So i was check the analysis and all looks appears to be fine,  In the results tab it show me a complete table with the data i was looking to use.
So i try to repeat the error and when  i try to create the XML for the Data Model i found this two error in the logs:

As i understand there is has a reference to a null value but i cant find what column of the analysis has the problem.
Any ideas about how to solve or debug this?
    Thanks

I follow your instructions and it works fine. I can create the XML and the reports can show data.
So, i already know that there is no problem with the data and with the BI Publisher installation but i still doesn know what is the problem with the analysis view that fails.
Any idea how to debug it?
    Thanks.

  • Analysing Task Audit, Data Audit and Process Flow History

    Hi,
Internal Audit dept has requested a bunch of information, that we need to compile from Task Audit, Data Audit and Process Flow History logs. We do have all the info available, however not in a format that allows proper "reporting" of log information. What is the best way to handle HFM logs so that we can quickly filter and export required audit information?
We do have housekeeping in place, so the logs are partial "live" db tables, and partial purged tables that were exported to Excel to archive the historical log info.
    Many Thanks.

I thought I posted this Friday, but I just noticed I never hit the 'Post Message Button', ha ha.
This info below will help you translate some of the information in the tables, etc. You could report on it from the Audit tables directly or move them to another appropriate data table for analysis later. The concensus, though I disagree, is that you will suffer performance issues if your audit tables get too big, so you want to move them periodically. You can do this using a scheduled Task, manual process, etc.
I personally just dump it to another table and report on it from there. As mentioned above, you'll need to translate some of the information as it is not 'human readable' in the database.
For instance, if I wanted to pull Metadata Load, Rules Load, Member List load, you could run a query like this. (NOTE: strAppName should be equal to the name of your application .... )
The main tricks to know at least for task audit table are figuring out how to convert times and determing which activity code corresponds to the user friendly name.
    -- Declare working variables --
    declare @dtStartDate as nvarchar(20)
    declare @dtEndDate as nvarchar(20)
    declare @strAppName as nvarchar(20)
    declare @strSQL as nvarchar(4000)
    -- Initialize working variables --
    set @dtStartDate = '1/1/2012'
    set @dtEndDate = '8/31/2012'
    set @strAppName = 'YourAppNameHere'
--Get Rules Load, Metadata, Member List
    set @strSQL = '

  • Workload Analysis and Exception Analysys   Overview data n/a

    Hello,
    About Root cause analysis.
In Workload Analysis and Exception Analysys, the KPI data, in right pane of overview tab,
    is always n/a.
In the other tab, e.g.  ABAP and Java instance tab, the data is diplayed.
So I think data could be properly stored in BI.
Please give me some advice what setup is missing.

I would like to get data analysis for solving statistic and making graphs, but this function is not in add-in. How should I do? I also set up microsoft office for mac 2011.

Microsoft didn't include that with the 2011 version.
There is a third-party application that substitutes for the add-in: http://www.analystsoft.com/en/products/statplusmac/
They also have a limited, free version.

  • Can't create data analysis views in windows 7/project server 2007

In Project Server 2007, when trying to create a new Data Analysis view or edit an existing one, we get the following error: "An error was encountered in loading the page". Using the F12 developer tools, I tracked it down to the following line:
"cn = new ActiveXObject("ADODB.Connection"), and in javascript the more specific error is "Automation server can't create object".
I assumed it was a browser permissions issue, and so I ensured the site is in trusted sites, and set the security level to low, but the same error is still occurring.
This error only occurs for users who are on Windows 7. This page works fine for users on Vista. The Windows 7 box has IE 9, the Vista box has IE 7.
Is Project Server 2007 supported in Windows 7/IE 9? Is there another security setting to look for?
edit: I have also checked the registry on the client and confirmed that adodb.connection is registered, and the dll exists.
    Thanks,
    Mike G.

    Hi Mike,
    If you refer to
this link, IE9 is supported by PS2007. Anyway, in the F12 developer tool, try to set the default browser to IE8. Also add the PWA url to the compatibility site settings in IE.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
I am currently using Project server 2007. One of our PM is not able to view Data Analysis information which are available to other PM.
It says 'The query cannot be processed. Either the user doesn't have access to Analysis service Database or the database doesn't exist"
    We checked the following.
    Tools >
Internet options > Security tab > Click Trusted Sites >
Custom Level > Search for Access data source across domains and its enabled.
    Kindly advice. Thanks in advance!

    Hi Nathik,
You should also check that the PM in question has not been granted specific permission. If he doesn't have the "View OLAP Data" and "View Data Analysis" permissions, he will not be able to use the data analysis. Also check
that the PWA URL is in the trusted site of IE. Finally press CTRL F5 to clean IE cache. Check also that the OLAP cubes were successfully built.
A good way for you to debug is to use your admin account on his machine to see if it is a permission issue or a IE setting issue.
    Hope this helps,

  • What is difference between bex analyser and bex browser

what is difference between bex analyser and bex browser . please explain what are use of both and what we do in both.

    hi
    Bex Browser
The Business Explorer Browser (BEx Browser) makes it possible for you to access all document types of the Business Information Warehouse that are assigned to your role or that you have stored in your favorites. You can select and open documents assigned to you in the BEx Browser or store and manage new documents in the BEx Browser.
Document types that you can work with in the BEx Browser are:
    · BW workbooks
    · Documents that are stored in the Business Document Service (BDS)
    · Links (references to file system, shortcuts)
    · Links to internet sites (URLs)
    · SAP transaction calls.
    · Web applications and Web templates
    · Crystal Reports
    Bex Analyser
The Business Explorer Analyzer (BEx Analyzer) is the analysis and reporting tool of the Business Explorer that is embedded in Microsoft Excel.
    Features
You can call up the BEx Query Designer in the BEx Analyzer, in order to define queries. Subsequently, you can analyze the selected InfoProvider data by navigation to the query created in the Query Designer and create different query views of the data. You can add the different query views for a query or for different queries to a work book and save them there. You can save the workbook in your favorites or in your role on the BW Server. You can also save the workbook locally on your computer.
Beyond that, you can precalculate the workbook and distribute it by e-mail to recipeients or you can export it to the Enterprise Portal and make it accessible to other employees in the company.
You can start queries in a standard view (with a Standard Web Template set up in Customizing) in the Web browser and forward the URL or continue to navigate on the Web. Similarly, you can export the Web query to MS Excel 2000.
Overview of the Functional Area of the BEx Analyzer:
    ·        BEx toolbar
You access the functions of the BEx Analyzer from the BEx toolbar, which takes you to the BEx Open dialog box where you can open existing queries, or to the BEx Query Designer where you can create new queries or change existing queries.
    ·        Evaluating Query Data
The BEx Analyzer offers convenient functions for evaluating and presenting InfoProvider data interactively. In the BEx Analyzer, you can add queries to workbooks, navigate within them and refresh the data. You can also process the queries further in Microsoft Excel or display them in the Web browser in a default view.
Navigation of a query allows you, for example, to filter characteristics on a single value, drilldown on all values for a characteristic, regroup characteristics and key figures in the rows and columns of the results area, or hide key figures. Navigation results in different views of the InfoProvider data. In addition, a range of further functions is available which allow you to edit a query interactively (for example, sorting, cumulated output, among others). In addition, you can use the editing functions in Microsoft Excel in order to set up individual format templates, to print results areas, or to create graphics.
    ·        Queries in Workbooks
Queries are inserted into workbooks so you can display them. When you insert a query, a link is made between the cell areas of the worksheet and the data of the InfoProvider upon which the query is based. A link therefore exists between the Business Explorer and the Business Information Warehouse Server (BW Server).
When inserting a query into the workbook, a VBA routine is automatically generated in the workbook. You can also connect the Business Explorer with your own VBA programs (Visual Basic for Applications).
You can create workbook templates, into which you can insert your queries. Workbook templates can contain pre-determined items for the area of the query, formatting settings, logos, VBA macros, and so on.
    ·        Precalculating workbooks
You can precalculate and distribute workbooks with the BEx Broadcaster, which is a Web application you get to form the BEx toolbar. The system generates MS Excel workbooks with historical data. You determine the time for precalculation yourself: You can have workbooks precalculated at a predefined time or they can be precalculated whenever data in the underlying InfoProvider changes. You can have the precalculated workbooks sent by e-mail or you can export them into the Enterprise Portal, where you can make them available to employees within your company.
    Activities
To start the BEx Analyzer, choose Start ® Programs ® SAP Front-end Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Business Explorer Analyzer.
You can also access the BEx Analyzer via SAP Easy Access ® SAP Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Menu ® Business Explorer ® Analyzer or in the Business Explorer Browser using the Business Explorer Analyzer symbol in the menu bar.
Hope this will solve your issu
