Data back up taken in 2.1 is lost while updating to 2.3

It is compulsory to lose backup while upgrading from 2.1 to 2.3. Its really big big disappointing feature of the update. No care is taken by even google to restore sbf type back up by putting support software in market.
I want to restore some of important sms back up. I need help from Sony Ericsson. I am sure that so many people have lost their back up while updating to 2.3.
It is compulsory to put such a notice display while updating to 2.3 that you will loose the back up and will not be able to restore back of 2.1 in 2.3. I want to file a case against the company for the valuable data loss and for not to inform such an important data lose.

Hi, download the following apk file from link provided and install it to your phone, http://www.elita-clan.com/downloads/backup_and_restore_v010935.apk.
Download it to PC/Laptop, then transfer it to phone SD Card. Make sure you have a File Manager app to search and install the apk file.

You need to move everything from the old computer or your backup copy of the old comptuer to the new one.

    Dear friends
We will appreciate if you can advise on this issue.
While updating user responsibilities on on OEBS 11.5.10 (DB 9.2.0.5) we noticed that the created date and created by in Record history is also being modified.
    Thanks to advise.

    Kamlesh,
Our environment is on the 11.5.10 version with 9.2.0.5 DB.
Can someone help us to find a fix to solve the error Wf_local_user_roles.Creation_date Gets Updated To Sysdate When Updating UserAre you asking for unsupported solution?
As per support its a bug and the fix provided requires an upgrade. Please update the SR and ask Oracle support for a workaround. If no workaround exists, then I would not suggest any other workaround and you would need to consider upgrading and/or applying the patch which fix the issue.
    Thanks,

  • I need my data back

    Hello,
I tried to download and install the recent iOS 8 update to my iPad 3. It failed to install too many times, so I decided to restart the device and give a try. The device appeared as if it is still loading and fails to startup no matter how much time I leave it to finish booting. There is an update logo on the screen and I can’t make it switch to a normal start up or cancel the update or anything. I can get access to the recovery mode but the problem is that I have very important data on the device storage which I cannot lose. This is serious as I don’t have any backup for my data on my PC or iCloud which makes the only copy I have is on the device itself. So, the situation in brief is that I’m stuck in the update and can’t access the old OS. I just need to get my data back in any possible way before proceeding to the update, so please give any possible solution.
    Thanks

This must be a unique definition of "very important".  One backup is not enough. No backups is insane.  Hopefully this will be a successful learning experience, which everybody eventually discovers.

  • The dates my photos were taken are now incorrect.  Any suggestions on how to get the correct dates back?

Thank you Winston.  This works and I can adjust several photos at the same time.

  • My iphone has synced with a later date than photos taken and now cant get resent photos back?

my iphone has synced with a later date than photos taken and now cant get photos recently taken same with messages :-(

iDevices do not sync with a date... they sync with the computer.
If the user has restored the device using an older backup, simply restore it with a more current backup.

  • Data Back Up Plan

    Hi,
My internal hard drive, 320 GB, 'fully loaded', on my 2 year old imac crashed 10 days ago.
Since I had the extended warranty, the 'local' Apple store replaced the internal drive within hours
at no charge and even loaded Snow Leopard and iLife. With a well updated TimeMachine on an external hard drive I was back working at my imac the next day. When I realized after the crash that my precious 250 GB of pictures in Adobe Lightroom and iPhoto, along with a few videos were saved on just one older Maxtor external hard drive, it made me think about a more solid back up procedure.
The idea now is to move all big volume files to one or more external hard drives.
In the meantime I have transfered the iPhoto and Lightroom files to an external hard drive (WD MyBook II, 2x1 TB in RAID 1), which gives me the first layer of back up: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/552322-REG/WesternDigital_WDH2Q20000N_2TB_My_BookStudio.html
In a second step I am planning on making a clone (with SuperDuper or CarbonCopy) of the internal hard drive (mainly operating systems and applications) and the external hard drive (all big data files) on one additional external hard drive, i.e. OWC Mercury Elite AL Pro Raid 0, 2 TB http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/ME8Q7T20GB64/
I am looking for advise here:
Do SuperDuper or CarbonCopy (I only know the names from the discussion forums) allow me to make a clone from 2 separate hard drives
Would it be good practice to create a large clone of ultimately 2 TB with ALL files or wouldn't it be better to make 2 clones , one of the internal and one of the external drive.
TimeMachine had helped me to get back to work quickly after the crash. I expect to fill the WD 1TB drive rather quickly. Where should I plan on using Time Machine in my new back up plan?
    Would appreciate comments and advise.

No. A clone is of your boot volume only. But those apps can make separate backups of multiple drives, either to multiple drives or to separate partitions on the same drive.

2 is not only better, but your only option with CCC or SD.

There is no "right" answer, just a number of possibilities. Some thoughts:
You could use TIme Machine to back up both your internal HD and the WD set to the OWC, if it's at least twice the size of the data on both. It looks like it can be configured as a +Concatenated RAID set+ (both drives into a single 2 TB volume), so that should work well.
Or use TM to back up your OSX drive, and CCC or SD to back-up the media drive.
The CCC or SD backups usually aren't practical to run more than once a day, so consider them your "secondary" backups.
Also strongly consider getting something off-site (safe deposit box, workplace, relative's house, etc.), so you're also protected against fire, flood, theft, direct lightning strike on your power lines. Portable external HDs are great for that. Some things may even be appropriate to take to DVDs.
The problem with that is, there aren't many portables over about 640 GB (LaCie has a 1 TB for either $300 or $400: http://www.lacie.com/us/products/product.htm?pid=11357).
CCC is donationware, so you can use it free for a while. If you decide to keep it, send them some $$ so they can keep it up to date. SD has a free version, but to do updates (rather than a full replacement) or automatic scheduling, you need the paid version (about $30). Either is available via Google, VersionTracker.com, or MacUpdate.com.

  • TS3988 My wife bought an iPad Air and synced contact from our PC (Outlook), now all our contacts in Outlook have gone and we have to go to iCloud to get them, and even then they are a bit jumbled. How do I get my data back onto my PC?

My wife bought an iPad Air and synced contact from our PC (Outlook), now all our contacts in Outlook have gone and we have to go to iCloud to get them, and even then they are a bit jumbled. How do I get my data back onto my PC?

If you can see the iCloud contacts in Outlook, you can copy them back to your PC by selecting all the contacts (click one, then press Control-A), then drag and drop the selected contacts to Contacts under My Contacts on the left sidebar of Outlook.
If you want to copy your calendar back to Outlook, select your iCloud calendar on the left sidebar of Outlook, switch to the list view (select View from the ribbon, then click Change View>List), select your events (click on a single event, then press Control-A), then control drag and drop them to Calendar under My Calendars on the left sidebar.
Then you can sign out of iCloud on the iCloud control panel and your local copies will still be there.  If you want to add your iCloud email account back to iCloud, you can do this with these settings: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4864.

  • If someone has wiped my ipad and changed passwords on icloud how do i get my data back

if someone has wiped my ipad and changed passwords on icloud how do i get my data back? please could someone help me out thanks

How did they wipe it?  By using Find My iPad and performing a wipe?  If so, that means they have your icloud ID and password, not a good thing.
You could try connecting it to iTunes and performing a restore from iCloud.  But if they changed password, then you are out of the loop.  How did they get your password in order to change it?

  • IOS 8 upgrade gone wrong - how do I get my data back?

I was upgrading my iPhone 5S to iOS 8 today using iTunes. Halfway through iTunes through an "unknown" error and recovered my phone back to the factory settings. I don't have any backups on either iTunes or iCloud (don't ask why).
I did a search for data recovery tools and it seems there are many out there that claim can get data back. Has anyone used any of these data recovery tools. Can they recover data in this situation?
I have lots of contacts, Messages and Notes which are gone forever if I can't recover them.
    Many thanks.

If your phone is back to factory condition, there's nothing to recover.
I won't ask why you didn't make a backup before upgrading as you requested.  Doesn't mean I'm not baffled.

I backed up my ipod. I then updated it but all of my data is still gone. How do I get my data back??

Were the app in your iTunes library? If not the app data in the backup has no place to go. Redownload the apps in your iTunes libaray
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    and then restore from backup.

Otherwise, try restoring from backup again.
If still problem that means the backup does not include the data.

I just got to school after getting a new screen put on my 13in macbook pro. when i opend up my macbook there was only a apple simble and the loading sing with a bar at the botton it took fovere to load, one it loaded and opend up there was a few options to pic from saying i could get all my datata back, i got confused and called the tec support where they wanted me to spend 90$ to back up my data, i feel as if they fixed my screen my data should be there when i go on it. I am a broke colage studend and need to get my work done. To sum it all up How do i get all my data back that happend to get lost while my screen was being repaird at the apple store?

Apple has a 90 warranty warranty on all of their repairs.  You should take your computer back to the repair shop.  Or call Apple Customer Relations (800) 767-2775.  Wait for a human to come on the line and ask politely and firmly that you want to be transferred over to the Customer Relations department.  Tell them your issue.

how do i get my data back if i restored my ipod touch

The backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps and music.
    Redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
and then restore from the same backup again.

I accidently deleted the calendar tab of my wife and deleted all her apoointments on her iphone and the iMac. I am in ****. How can I get the calendar data back=?

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer

As for you own music, you may have to use a third party software. A good Free one is called Sharepod which you can download from Download.com here:

If i restore the phone how can i get my data back and how can i check when i last backed up my phone

If you have been syncing regularly as the iphone is designed, then you can sync the data back.
Regardless you will have to restore the iphone.
