What is difference between data base structure and stucure in program
what is difference between data base structure and stucure declared in program level . can explain cleary if knows
Hi,
Data base structure is global decalaration you can reffer this structure in any of your developments, when ever you cahange this structure the changes automatically will get updated in all the programs.
coming to structures in program it is local to your program only, if you want to change the structure again you have to open the program and do the necessary changes.
Reward if useful.
Thanks,
Sreeram. -

Hi,
check out the following link.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/97/68d64260752a78e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
it says:
Database Interface
Interface to the database of the NetWeaver AS ABAP that is integrated in the ABAP-runtime environment. The statements of Open SQL and Native SQL access the database using the database interface. The database interface is responsible for data transport between business layer and persistence layer, automatic client handling, and SAP buffering.
hope it helps.

How do we decide the number of data base servers and application servers ?
Dear Gurus,
How do we decide the number of data base servers and application servers in BW ?
How does this number help in data load balance and reporting needs ?
Any hard n fast rule in the number of servers ?
Regards
MohanHi Mohan,
Check the number of application server in the T-code SM66.... and also u can check the it in Sm50 on appplication server basiss./.
From Sm37 u can see the application server Push button.. if u click on that also.. u can see the number of application servers in the system..
Get into the individual application server and check how many Dialogue and background WP's are free,,
If u see that the considerable number of WP are free(Waiting for task).. then u can shedule the loads..
If most of the WP are busy then u need to wait to trigger ur loads to maintain the load balancing..
If one Application server is too busy then u can check the other Application Servers in the systems..
And u can shedule the loads on a specific application sever level as well using the PC..
Thanks
I hope this is clear to u..
Assign points if this helps -
What is the difference between data base objects and runtime objects
What is the difference between data base objects and runtime objects
Hi raja,
data base objects means u can have the presence of these objects in the database. So the tables, searchhelps, structures, lockobjects comes under these ones.
Runtime objects are created and destroyed after the program ends, any changes we make to them are temporary only.

Data Pump - expdp and slow performance on specific tables
Hi there
I have af data pump export af a schema. Most of the 700 tables is exported very quickly (direct path) but a couple of them seems to be extremenly slow.
I have chekced:
- no lobs
- no long/raw
- no VPD
- no partitions
- no bitmapped index
- just date, number, varchar2's
I'm runing with trace 400300
But I'm having trouble reading the output from it. It seems that some of the slow performning tables is runinng with method 4??? Can anyone find an explanation for the method in the trace:
1 > direct path (i think)
2 > external table (i think)
4 > ?
others?
I have done some stats using v$filestat/v$session_wait (history) - and it seems that we always wait for DB seq file read - and doing lots and lots of SINGLEBLKRDS. Not undo is read
I have a table 2.5 GB -> 3 minutes
and then this (in my eyes) similar table 2.4 GB > 1½ hrs.
There are 367.000 blks (8 K) and avg rowlen = 71
I'm on Oracle 11.2 on a Linux box with plenty of RAM and CPU power.

Hi All ,
I have an urgent requirement in which i will be given a Table design(Having parameter names and its type length etc) in xml format or in excel sheet , then by using that as an input i have to create it in Backend automatically through my coding. Can anyone tell me that how this can be done.
Another requirement like upper one is that if i have to automatically generate code for a Function Module on the basis of its signature given . then how this can be done.

DATA BASE TABLE AND INTERNAL TABLE
Dear Friends,

<b>DATABASE Tables :</b>
This are the tables which are stored in the database (eg Oracle , informix , DB2 etc..) Physically. u can view it from T-codes SE11 or SE16. here in SE11 u can create ur own Transparent table.
for more information...
http://www.sapbrainsonline.com/TUTORIALS/TECHNICAL/dictionary_tutorial.html
<b>Internal Tables.</b>
While generating reports or other objects we are not modifying the database tables directly first we are selecting the data of the database table into the internal tables... so that we can reduce the database access time and network traffic .. which is highly needed in R/3 system..
internal tables are not exist phyiscally in the system. its like a array. the existance of the internal tables is upto the program execution in which u r declaring nd using it...
for more information..

Hope it will solve ur problem..

Cleaning up data base files and old back-up files
I installed LR version 1 and reimported all new photos. I noticed that for some reason I have several folders of backup and libraries in my lightroom file folder some nested within others. I would like to remove the old files and keep only the latest ones. I am not sure I know how to identify the latest files to keep or delete. I then would like to back up latest files in another location. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
JimOS?
<br />
<br />Lots of ways using a combo of LR and OS. Select an image and have it reveal where it lives. Note the location.
<br />
<br />Make a change in a file, export the metadata, and if a folder you are looking at doesn't have any recent changes, it isn't the one in LR.
<br />
<br />Another safeguard is to zip the file, instead of trashing it. That way if you later find LR is counting those images as part of its db, you can restore.

I have a 32 bit server as Oracle data base server and I had 9.2.0.1 version installed but ODM need at least 9.2.0.2 version. But this version doesn't work in a 32bit processor server. Does the Linux version of 9.2.0.2 works in a 32 bits processor server?
9.2.0.2 certainly works on 32-bit Windows machines. Are you sure you're installing the 32-bit patchset rather than the 64-bit patchset?

Need a information about data base stastics
hi all
i need information about data base stastics how to implement the data base stastics what are steps involved in implementation and data base stastics and bw stastics bothare same or diffrent.
any pointers helpfulHi,
While you can collect/refresh the DB statistics thru the Performance tab or a Process Chain step, it's probably better to have the DBA schedule the run of BRCONNECT to collect statistics. This provides two key benefits, the statistics collection can be moved to off hours rather than during a load window, which is usually tight in most shops, and the other benefit is that it can collect statistics only on tables that have had significant changes in size. There is really no need to collect stats every day on every table - that is just wasted system effort.
There have been several OS Notes to provide some settings in the recent couple of support packages to control options on statistics collection on ODSs that you might want to review too.
Pls chk this links;

How to modify a data base table ?
Hi,
i am working on a list output where if user is editing a field and that field need to be updated in the data base. table is a z table .
the table has 5 fields .
mandt key field
matnr key field
werks key field
charg key field
lgpla key field
usnam
edate
in the list output , the user will change the values in the lgpla field and that field need to be changed in the data base table.
i have used the stmt :
modify< table> from <internal table> ,
but a new record is added in the data base instead of overwriting the existing one.
but the record can be seen modified in the internal table.
kinldy let me know the method of updating or modifying the existing value in the data base.
thanks and regards,
vikram.Hi,
Its not possible to change Primary Key contents in the database.
it mention in documentation of MODIFY Statement,
a line is searched for in the database table that has the same content
in the primary key as the corresponding beginning part of the work area.
If such a line is not found,
a new line is inserted according to the same rules as for the INSERT statement.
If such a line is found,
this line is overwritten according to the same rules as for the UPDATE statement
if you want insert the modified line first Delete from database,Then Use Modify Statement

Logical Data base MSM vs Material master table MARA/MARC
Hi Experts,
What is the different between the logical data base (LDB) and the normal SAP table, for example MSM vs MARA/MARC/MBEW table. ? I mean we usually refer data to the normal SAP table in download or ABAP, what is the use of logical data base (exp MSM Material master) can download data or refer to MSM in ABAP?? Please help.
Best regards,
EricA logical database provides a particular view of database tables in the R/3 System. It is always worth using logical databases if the structure of the data that you want to read corresponds to a view available through a logical database.

Failed to load Data base information
after completeing the report in crystal when ever i want to see print preview it will say
Failed to load Data base information
and whenever i will export the report to pdf it will say
Failed to load Data base information
please solve this issueHi Royston,
The instance that we are accessing is: https://secure-ausomxdsa.crmondemand.com.
I assume that it's a test environment. So I navigated to (https://ebusiness.siebel.com/odcustomercare/support/alerts/staging/index.asp) "Staging & Test Environments" -> "Planned Maintenance - Staging" (since there is no Testing link) and saw a calendar of downtimes which didn't quite match-up to the date when we encountered the error. We encountered the error on November 25, which was marked on the calendar as a planned 8-hour downtime. During that day we didn't encounter continuous downtime but just erratic spurs of the the error. Am I looking in the right place? Thanks
