Data Base Reset Alert
I keep getting the following message on my eMac. It just started about one week ago.
"Inconsistencies in your sync information for bookmarks were detected and have been repaired.
The next sync for Moble Me and Safari may take longer than usual."
What can I do to fix the problem?
You could try the suggestion posted at the link below,

ORA-01403: no data found in alert.log
Dear All,
I am getting ORA-01403: no data found in alert.log.Could you pls help me out what could be reasons behind it..Due to this i m getting loads of alerts.Pls suggest.
ThanksORA-01403 No Data Found
Typically, an ORA-01403 error occurs when an apply process tries to update an existing row and the OLD_VALUES in the row LCR do not match the current values at the destination database.
Typically, one of the following conditions causes this error:
Supplemental logging is not specified for columns that require supplemental logging at the source database. In this case, LCRs from the source database might not contain values for key columns. You can use a DML handler to modify the LCR so that it contains the necessary supplemental data. See "Using a DML Handler to Correct Error Transactions". Also, specify the necessary supplemental logging at the source database to prevent future errors.
There is a problem with the primary key in the table for which an LCR is applying a change. In this case, make sure the primary key is enabled by querying the DBA_CONSTRAINTS data dictionary view. If no primary key exists for the table, or if the target table has a different primary key than the source table, then specify substitute key columns using the SET_KEY_COLUMNS procedure in the DBMS_APPLY_ADM package. You also might encounter error ORA-23416 if a table being applied does not have a primary key. After you make these changes, you can reexecute the error transaction.
The transaction being applied depends on another transaction which has not yet executed. For example, if a transaction tries to update an employee with an employee_id of 300, but the row for this employee has not yet been inserted into the employees table, then the update fails. In this case, execute the transaction on which the error transaction depends. Then, reexecute the error transaction.
There is a data mismatch between a row LCR and the table for which the LCR is applying a change. Make sure row data in the table at the destination database matches the row data in the LCR. When you are checking for differences in the data, if there are any DATE columns in the shared table, then make sure your query shows the hours, minutes, and seconds. If there is a mismatch, then you can use a DML handler to modify an LCR so that it matches the table. See "Using a DML Handler to Correct Error Transactions".
Alternatively, you can update the current values in the row so that the row LCR can be applied successfully. If changes to the row are captured by a capture process at the destination database, then you probably do not want to replicate this manual change to destination databases. In this case, complete the following steps:
Set a tag in the session that corrects the row. Make sure you set the tag to a value that prevents the manual change from being replicated. For example, the tag can prevent the change from being captured by a capture process.
EXEC DBMS_STREAMS.SET_TAG(tag => HEXTORAW('17'));
In some environments, you might need to set the tag to a different value.
Update the row in the table so that the data matches the old values in the LCR.
Reexecute the error or reexecute all errors. To reexecute an error, run the EXECUTE_ERROR procedure in the DBMS_APPLY_ADM package, and specify the transaction identifier for the transaction that caused the error. For example:
EXEC DBMS_APPLY_ADM.EXECUTE_ERROR(local_transaction_id => '5.4.312');
Or, execute all errors for the apply process by running the EXECUTE_ALL_ERRORS procedure:
EXEC DBMS_APPLY_ADM.EXECUTE_ALL_ERRORS(apply_name => 'APPLY');
If you are going to make other changes in the current session that you want to replicate destination databases, then reset the tag for the session to an appropriate value, as in the following example:
EXEC DBMS_STREAMS.SET_TAG(tag => NULL);
In some environments, you might need to set the tag to a value other than NULL. -
Organizer data base is damaged in acrobat 9 standard
I have tried to "repair" and reinstall my Adobe Acrobat 9 standard version to correct my organizer data base damage issue. I have deleted and replace the organizer90 file as suggested in previous discussions to no avail. I have created a txt version and removed the .txt to the folder making it blank also. Nothing has fixed this issue. I have had this product for years without many issues. This is the first time it appears to be unresolvable.
Do you have any suggestions beyond what I have discussed. As an example is there a specific order of action items to make the repairs. It is perplexing that a full uninstall and then a full reinstall has not solved the issue. I am only an occasional user so this product suits my needs and demands regarding pdf files. posted 070514 Scottyou must not be removing the correct file. double check that you're deleting from the correct directory.
also, after restarting your computer, before launching acrobat, make sure that organizer90 is not present. then launch acrobat and check that it re-creates the organizer90 file.
and, if that fails, you could try holding down shift-ctrl-alt while starting acrobat. if done correctly you'll see a confirmation dialog about resetting your preferences. -
Active Data Guard-How to configure Auxiliary Data Base's Listener.
HI,
I am stuck in creating listener/tnsnames for auxiliary database as the problem happens because of the auxiliary instance has just started. It is now in NOMOUNT stage. The instance registration with the listener is performed by PMON process and to start the PMON process database need to be in mount stage. So, before the instance registration by PMON with the listener there is actually noting to register and hence the instance is BLOCKED.

If so why is it in NOMOUNT? Why don't you start it?

please solve this issueHi Royston,
The instance that we are accessing is: https://secure-ausomxdsa.crmondemand.com.
I assume that it's a test environment. So I navigated to (https://ebusiness.siebel.com/odcustomercare/support/alerts/staging/index.asp) "Staging & Test Environments" -> "Planned Maintenance - Staging" (since there is no Testing link) and saw a calendar of downtimes which didn't quite match-up to the date when we encountered the error. We encountered the error on November 25, which was marked on the calendar as a planned 8-hour downtime. During that day we didn't encounter continuous downtime but just erratic spurs of the the error. Am I looking in the right place? Thanks -
I have been getting an annoying popup from iSync titled "Database Reset Alert", saying that
"Inconsistencies in your sync information for Contacts and Calendars were detected and have been repaired".
"The next sync for entourage 2008, address book, entourage, iSync, .Mac and iCal may take longer than usual".
I have done the following to try and fix the problem:
1. in iSync preferences I "Reset Sync History..."
2. I disabled synch in Entourage 2008
However the popup still comes every 10 or 15 minutes and is extremely distracting. I have looked in this discussion group and saw that some people had the same problem but the problem was resolved when they reset the sync history from the preference menu, but that did not work for me.
Thanks,
IvryMy MM, iPhone, and iCal info is correct, however, my Address Book and Entourage addresses only lists the persons' name and no other data. Entourage calendar has no data. I'm trying to advanced sync from MM to computer.
I receive the same message:
"Inconsistencies in your sync information for Contacts and Calendars were detected and have been repaired.
The next sync for iSync, iPhone, Address book, iCal, .Mac and Entourage may take longer than usual."
Very frustrating! I'm afraid that if something messes up MM, I've lost my info. Anyway to backup MM info while waiting for a fix on the inconsistencies issue?
The first sync with MM worked.
Thanks,
Meg -

Current WSUS
I forgot to do a regular cleanup of the data base. It is now 20 GB in size. When I do a options - cleanup and only check Unused and update revision, it runs for several hours and then gets a Database error. I Reset Server Node and WSUS comes back. I noticed
that the blue fuel gauge bar did start but only minimally.
I did run unneeded, expired and superseded one at a time and then went to completion quickly.
Is there a manual method to purged the data base?
THX
John LenzHi Clarence
"Clarence Zhang" schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:[email protected]...
Running the cleanup wizard is the only way to shrink the DB.If the DB
is extremely big,it may lead to running serveral hrs to clean up the DB.
The cleanup wizard (at least for WSUS 3.0 where I tried) doesn't shrink the DB at all. The space may be free and be reused after but the db flies aren't shrinked (which actually makes sense as SQL Server else has to make it larger again later). First step
sure is to run the wizard to get rid of obsolete updates filling the database and file system.
If you after this run still have real need on wasted storage you can do following:
- Ensure Windows Internal Database Service is started
- Start the Management Studio of SQL Server 2008 R2. Important: You have to start it with "Run as Administrator", else you won't get the required permissions.
- Link to the Windows Internal Database server using the pipe as server address:
\\.\pipe\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##SSEE\sql\query
- Now you should be connected to the WSUS3 Database server and see in the Branch Databases the Database SUSDB.
- Rightclick on it and select the Task to shrink either the database or the files what ever you prefer.
BTW: For me this reduced the size of the database files (data and log file) from 8.5GBytes to 3.5GBytes.
Now the database should be shrunk to a reasonable size and the unrequired space should have been freed up on the disk.
But again - WSUS will have to expand the database file when running and the database may grow to the seen size quickly again.

Transfer of xml file elements to data base columns
hi all,
i have to store xml file's data(element values) into the data base(table columns).
i heard that we can acheive this by XSU.
IS it is mediator between xml and db? if yes how to install it.
i tried something as below
with t as (
select xmltype('<Message-Header>

my db version is Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - ProductionHi,
What are you trying to achieve with a single WITH clause and no SELECT?
Please see this from the documentation if you want to use it properly :
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14200/statements_10002.htm#i2077142
Apart from its true purpose of subquery factoring, the WITH clause is often use here and there to simulate a table content, but you'll always need a SELECT.
Maybe that's what you were trying to do?
As for your question, starting with release 10.2, Oracle provides XMLTable to shred XML documents into relational structures.
For example,
with t as (
select xmltype('<Message-Header>
<Message-Id>1234</Message-Id>
<Sender-Company-ID>4569</Sender-Company-ID>
<Sender-Company-Name>abc company</Sender-Company-Name>
<Sender-User-ID>AA</Sender-User-ID>
<Recv-Company-ID>050</Recv-Company-ID>
<Recv-Company-Name>XYZ pvt.ltd</Recv-Company-Name>
<Creation-Time>20101019 15:59:39</Creation-Time>
</Message-Header>') as xml from dual
select x.*
from t,
XMLTable(
'/Message-Header'
passing t.xml
columns
message_id number path 'Message-Id',
sender_company_id number path 'Sender-Company-ID',
sender_company_name varchar2(30) path 'Sender-Company-Name',
sender_user_id varchar2(30) path 'Sender-User-ID',
recv_company_id varchar2(30) path 'Recv-Company-ID',
recv_company_name varchar2(30) path 'Recv-Company-Name',
creation_time varchar2(30) path 'Creation-Time'
) x
;If you're working in PL/SQL, and the XML resides in a variable, you can directly do (with necessary datatype conversion in the SELECT) :
insert into your_table ( <your_columns_list> )
select <your_columns_list>
from XMLTable(
'/Message-Header'
passing your_xml_var
columns
message_id number path 'Message-Id',
sender_company_id number path 'Sender-Company-ID',
sender_company_name varchar2(30) path 'Sender-Company-Name',
sender_user_id varchar2(30) path 'Sender-User-ID',
recv_company_id varchar2(30) path 'Recv-Company-ID',
recv_company_name varchar2(30) path 'Recv-Company-Name',
creation_time varchar2(30) path 'Creation-Time'
) x

Im trying to build user expiration into my registration form, but I cant get the form to send back the date registering.
in my data base i have tried every thing from timestamp to datetime. I can get a timestamp but it is not functioning with the expiration?just have a look at my tutorial Login tables: installation & configuration where the required column attributes are explained and where you can obtain a fully functional SQL dump for a typical ADDT "login" and (optionally) "login_stats" table.
BTW, "expiration" will have to be an "int" column.

Quota Generation not happen's on Pro data basis .
Dear experts,
Time evalution status - 1.
1.Employee service 0 - 5 years - 24 Days entitlement
2.Employee service 5 - 10 years - 29 days entitlement.
when generating quota for employee less than five years its calculating correctly.when come's to employee more than 5 years its not calculating on pro-data basis of employee joining month. Instead of Month it's looking at the year and calculating it.

Differnace b/w SID and Global data base name
please tell me what is differance b/w SID and global data base name.
Hi,
Oracle System Identifier (SID)
A name that identifies a specific instance of a running pre-release 8.1 Oracle database. For any database, there is at least one instance referencing the database.
For pre-release 8.1 databases, SID is used to identify the database. The SID is included in the connect descriptor of a tnsnames.ora file and in the definition of the listener in the listener.ora file.
http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/network.102/b14213/glossary.htm#i433004
Global database name
The full name of the database which uniquely identifies it from any other database. The global database name is of the form "database_name.database_domain," for example, sales.us.acme.com.
The database name portion, sales, is a simple name you wish to call your database. The database domain portion, us.acme.com, specifies the database domain in which the database is located, making the global database name unique. When possible, Oracle Corporation recommends that your database domain mirror the network domain.
The global database name is the default service name of the database, as specified by the SERVICE_NAMES parameter in the initialization parameter file.
