Data deleted after backup

Please help!
I've had my ical & palm set up so the data on my ical is changed after I sync the palm. This has been working fine until today. After my weekly backup happened my calendar retrieved the data from the backup and changed my calendar, i.e deleted all my new entries since the last backup. I then tried to sync with the palm, and the new entries on the palm were also deleted.
How do I get backup to take the data from ical and ical to take data from my palm?

Sound like you're using a PC

Also, these are the locations where back ups are stored on a computer:
Where iTunes backups are stored on your computer
The folder where your backup data are stored varies depending on the computer's operating system. Make sure the backup folder is included in your periodic data-backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.
Restore the file from recycle bin and then see if you can locate the 7/30 backup per the above windows locations.

I am deeply sad. All data has been deleted after upgrade to iOS8.
    What I did:
    1. Connect ipad to PC to transfer records from voice recorder.
    2. iTunes offered to upgrade system.
    3. I confirmed.
    4. Some unknown error occured in the end of upgrade process.
    5. When iPad started, iOS8 was there. All data disappeared.
    6. I am sad. All valued data I need is lost... (no backup has been done before upgrade).
Pls advice is it possible to get data back.

    Yes. I did backup.
But don't know how to get it.
Actualy, all I need is 2 records from Recorder programm. Before upgrade I downloaded records from itunes; screen → http://joxi.ru/caQdVIwyTJDKAjTtsuk
Now it is empty, no records.
I see that backup of this programm data available in storage. But don't know how to get it from there; screen → http://joxi.ru/taUdVP3JTJAaYtIkBaI

  • Data deleted after turning emulator off

    Hi Everybody,
I developed a MIDP app that (among other things) stores a username and password, so you don't have to type them every time. This code was working fantastic, but I think I had a problem with the emulator. Yesterday morning, the username and pass were stored in the mobile emulator (DefaultColorPhone), no matter if I turned the emulator on and off, they kept stored anyway. Yesterday afternoon, while I was storing the user name and password, the computer went off. And since that moment, the username and password are not stored any longer after I turn the mobile off. If I start and exit the app (withouth turning off the emulator), the data is stored properly, but after I turn it off, the data disapears (store.getNumRecords() returns zero). I believe something got damaged, but I don't know how to fix it. I already deleted de db and create it again, but nothing changed.
If I try my app with the DefaultGrayPhone or QwertyDevice, it works ok, the data keeps stored after a turn the mobile off, like the DefaultColorPhone used to work.
Do you have an idea on how to solve this?

If I try my app with the DefaultGrayPhone or QwertyDevice, it works ok, the data keeps stored after a turn the mobile off, like the DefaultColorPhone used to work.Looks like you're using WTK - right? When I had problems like you describe, I typically cleaned up appdb folder.
appdb folder is usually located in WTK installation directory. In some versions it could be placed somewhere in "user documents" directory.
Typically, I simply removed "DefaultColorPhone" subfolder of appdb. To be on a safer side, you better make a backup copy of this folder prior to its deletion.

  • Data deleted after software upgrade

Help!  I connected my iphone 3 into itunes and accepted the software upgrade on offer.  I now have lost ALL data incuding precious photos.  Don't care about message threads or settings, but I do care about photos.  I have imported my contacts back in from my SIM card but am at a loss as to how this happened when I just selected the standard prompts to update software.  I am using another PC as my regular PC is not working, so cannot get photos off that from my last syncing.  Thanks

    Well, some info:
Apple assumes that all photos in the Photo Library you also have on your computer and thus it's no problem if the sync/update process deletes them, because you can re-sync them from your computer just like you did in the first place. This is true of all photos, video, music, which Apple calls "media". The iPhone is NOT a backup.
Syncing with a new computer offers a warning that it is going to delete all media from the phone and replace it with media from the new computer, at which point you should have canceled. You are only allowed to sync media from one computer at a time.
Syncing with a new computer should have backed up your phone first, and that would include the photos in the Camera Roll, that you took with the phone; but NOT the photos in the Photo Library, that you synced to the phone. The backup should also include data saved within apps. So you might be able to Restore from Backup to get some stuff back, or use a third-party utility to pull your Camera Roll photos from the backup file on the computer. Assuming iTunes backed up first.
Failing that, I don't think I've heard of any way to undo loss of media due to syncing with a new computer. You might ask google.

  • PARTIAL CONTACTS DATA DELETED AFTER SYNCING

After syncing iphone 3gs with PC, noticed a portion of my data in the notes field in my Contacts is missing. I tried to re-sync twice and data is still missing. This has never happened before. Please advise.

If your using a Mac then the contacts are saved in Address Book. Depending on how you sync the contacts regardless of whether they are created on your iphone or computer should dissapear when deleted.
From memory in Windows there is a Contacts folder in your My Computer folder so i guess they would be saved there.
I had exactly this issue a couple of weeks back - around the time I upgraded to OS4.
I sync using mobileme and I when I connected up my iphone to itunes I ended up with a ton of old contacts back on my phone - some of which I deleted months ago and were never on my iphone in the first place (but were on address book)!
I also know for a fact that those deleted contacts were not present in Address Book at the time of the iphone duplication so it couldnt have been because they were on AB but not on my iphone - so I have spent a while going through all my contacts and deleting the duplicate contacts of those I used and completely deleting up to 3 of each contacts i no longer use and deleted months ago!

  • How to undelete the data, deleted after revert to single disc

There was just one drive in the media hub nmh405, so i have pressed revert to single disc without back up data before and  lost all data!
Is there some options to restore the data?

    Hi zzitmanis,
    Too bad to hear that.
Unfortunately, once you revert the disk to single disk mode, it will delete all the files in the drive because it will definitely reformat the drive.

  • Data deleted after changing ID names

    Hi,
I have been having some issues with replacing ID's. Basically, we will sometimes created a temp ID for forecasting, and then replace it with a permanent one when ID has been created in SAP.
So the issue is that, sometimes, not always, when I am replacing an ID, and after I validate and process the dimension, all the data associated with that ID will be lost. So basically, I process first without a full process and wait for the new IDs to replace the old IDs on the spreadsheet, then I perform a full process.
I have also, only performed a full process and the issue was still present. Again, this seems to be sporadic and I am not sure what I am doing to cause this.
When changing the ID name, I am putting the new ID in the "New ID" property.
Also, we are on BPC 5.1
    Thank you

    Dear Chris,
You're right, I was have the same issue. When you put the new ID on property "NEW ID", the data will be transfer into the new ID and will be clear in the old ID.
    Thanks,

  • Touch ID data deleted after crash

Something strange happened to me yesterday: I tried to call my wife with my iPhone 5S via Facetime from a store to show her something. The call went through but it only worked for 1 sec and then my phone crashed (btw: what's up with that? never happened before iOS 7. pilot friends tell me that there iPads crash in the air - not very good, not very safe and most of all not very Unix/Apple/iOS-like... what gives?). Anyway, the phone restarted - took forever btw - and came up directly to my homescreen (weird too as it never asked for a password or anything), I called my wife and Facetime worked as planned.
A few minutes later (after the call), I took my phone out again and tried to unlock it with Touch ID. Nothing! Not one finger worked. So I entered my password and checked the security settings and low and behold ALL of my fingerprints (5 in total) were gone. Completely erased as if the phone was reset to factory default. But only Touch ID, everything else worked perfectly.
I re-entered my fingerprints and now everything is back to normal, but what the **** happened there?
    Anyone else with similar behavior?
It's nothing major but I think Apple should know about this. And it should take care of those random total phone crashes. How on earth can the whole phone crash all of sudden and not just the app???

Just had a very similar thing happen on my 5S with 7.0.4 a few minutes ago. I was coming down from the mountains and had the phone in airplane mode since there's no service in the canyon. Coming out, I turned off airplane mode and the phone continued to show no service when I knew it should have it. Toggled airplane mode a few more times and it still showed no service. Restarted it finally and it came up with signal but all of my TouchID finger data was gone. Very bizzare - TouchID is supposed to be a hardware thing, why are these software problems wiping the data?

  • Data lost after backup

My itouch 3rd gen was dieing. I tried backing it up and restoring, but it still died. Fortunately, I had an extended plan, so was given a 4th gen. When I synced the new itouch, not all my apps synced, and data was lost. I know that in the past if I had to "buy" an app I already owned, the data which was backed up on my computer was saved, and installed with the new app. This is not the case with the new itouch. Is there anyway to access this data?

App data is saved in the iPod backup.  It is not in your iTunes library where a copy of the app is stored. In iTunes go to Preferences and then to the Device tab.  See if the date of the iPod backup  would correspond to when you had your old iPod.  If so, the restore you iPOd from that backup.  If not there, do you have an older copy of the backup file that you can get from yur computer backup such as from TimeMachine.  Otherwise, the data is lost.

    Hi Sadiq,
This is not the case with DB2 LUW. Either you need to configure direct archive backup to tape or first archive backup and then manual log movement/deletion.

When I restart the mac pressing Command R to restore it from the backup it shows the previous OS X (Leopard) beside the date of the backup that I want to select. Will it go back to Leopard if I restore it from the backup?

No, it won't revert to the prior OS X but you you may have third party apps installed that were compatible with Lion that may not be compatible with Mountain Lion.

  • Lost all app data and former backups after iTunes 11 update

I just updated to iTunes 11. I'm using Windows 8 Pro x64 and an Apple iPhone 5 32GB. Before the update I made a backup of my iPhone.
    So far, so good.
Problems that occured after the update:
    1. One Music CD in my library was split into two albums with titles 1-4 and 5-13. I fixed that manually.
    2. Available space on my iPhone decreased after the update. I've got an iPhone 5 with 32GB capacity. Before the update and sync with iTunes 11 I had like almost 5GB of empty space. Now it's only 1.31GB. There are not more apps, music, pictures etc. on my iPhone than before the update.
    3. All data of apps like balance (budget tool), Momento (diary) is gone! Apps like Dropbox lost their settings.
Hence, I decided to restore the data from the backup I made just before updating to iTunes 11. THIS BACKUP IS GONE!! I'm no IT newbie and I'm an iPhone user since the iPhone 3.
I just wish I would have not updated to iTunes 11. Apple Switzerland's Support was not able to help. They said if the backup is gone, data is lost ;(

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
If you have synced your device on two separate days then the current state of your device backup will no longer have the stored data for the apps that were removed. If however you have not resynced since noticing the problem then, once the library is restored, it may be possible to restore the device to bring back the missing app data.

  • Recovering Time Machine after backups were deleted

The event I will describe occurred from an incomplete operation. Hindsight is 20/20. After the mistake, I stopped using the Time Machine drive.
Fearing that my Time Machine drive (1 TB) was becoming full, I proceeded to delete some backups between the start date and the present. Thinking that on the dates I deleted nothing really changed, I thought it was safe.
The dialog appeared, "Preparing to delete files..." and was still on the screen when I realized that any deletion was idiotic. The dialog never changed to indicate files were actually being deleted. After inspection, some files were deleted. There is only a small subset of backups remaining. As no data was ever written to the drive, I'm sure I can recover all or most files.
What is the best path to recover as much backup data as possible? I own the Stellar Phoenix recovery program.
What should I know about the structure of Time Machine archives? My latest attempts have resulted in almost no complete files but rather in hundreds of files named "iNode xxxxxxx" being recovered. I don't find that helpful at all. All changes can be reconstructed with work. All I care about are the original downloaded files. The diff files (I assume that is how TM works) are negligible.
Thank you for helping this Macintosh and TM amateur.
    Robert

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
Unfortunately, Apple doesn't do a very good job of warning people: +*Never, ever, move, change, or delete anything in your TM backups via the Finder.+* That can hopelessly corrupt them.
They do have special "deny everybody everything" permissions, but that isn't enough, as you've found out.
Just for future reference, see #12 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip* at the top of this forum.
Time Machine uses some rather complex techniques, so it can perform only incremental backups of what's new or changed, but have each backup be, in effect, a full one. This is done with multiple "hard links" to the actual backup items, at both the file and directory level. Think of them as multiple aliases. Few 3rd-party apps understand this. So be sure your recovery program is fully compatible with Leopard.
I think that +Data Rescue II+ is, but I've never used it, so can't be sure.
Most likely, the best you'll be able to recover are some "raw" files.
