Data display slow because I have too many DAQs displaying or poor coding?
Attached is my VI, and I have 3 NI daqs running and giving me voltages for all the channels (32 total by the end of this, this is only the start). I want to display and record this information in real time. and still have options for recoding time events, etc. Am i going about breaking up my channels between the graphs and displaying everythign properly in the right way? in addition to the recording setup i have? I really like how the daqmx lgos the data in a new sheet automatically each time and writes out the goup name, etc. it is exactly the type of file i want to have by the end of this so i gave up on getting a producer/consumer queue steup for the data collection that some people had recmmended to me. so you can Ignore the queue stuff, it is there for something i wanted to try and does nothing right now. just didnt feel like deleting it and couldnt figure out how to "comment" out labview blocks.

I say to use the Split Array. It does the splitting sequencially and you can dynamically tell it where to do the split.

ThnxDo it in iTunes on your system. Connect iPad, go to Apps tab and deselect the apps you want to remove from iPad.

just a quick thing. I saw a genius today, because like many of you, i'm not only dealing with antenna issues but also have some really bad proximity sensor stuff. I mean, seriously, i've done three way calls, face timed everyone, end calls of 50-60 percent of my calls, searched maps, made new contacts, etc. all with my face! rrrgggg but what i was more puzzled about was what the genius told me was,
"you have no memory because there are too many apps running in the background" when i questioned and said, didn't steve say, "if you have to think about it, you've done it wrong" yet now i'm having issues with my phone, it is because of the multitasking? does this make any sense...it didn't to me. does he not know what he is talking about....or if he is right, there is nothing i can do about it right? he said there isn't a way to turn multi tasking off, just have manually quit programs.........any advice onto if he is correct...john2049 wrote:

The genius is incorrect. The apps that are suspended in the background are told to release memory, and if there is a shortage of memory or they don't comply as required they will be terminated at will by the OS (freeing memory). This is all done behind the scenes and will not cause you any memory issues. And the upside is you can switch to them much faster.
Shorter version: memory not an issue with background tasks. -
I have a Nano, I haven't ever registered it. It pops up an error message saying I have too many songs and it can't be synced. I need help.

We have about five devices in our family which have been deactivated. It has been so long since I registered them -years- and I don't recall how I did it. For instance, my daughter's IPod from when she was young doesn't work and neither does her IPod Nano. She can't get any of her music. My Shuffle doesn't work. I am embarrassed that I feel like having Apple products is too complicated for me. I can barely get through all the levels of logging in, let alone how to make the devices work again. Somewhere along the way I seem to remember getting a message that we had too many devices on our account. Which account? I have given up on this so many times and now it is years later and I am trying again. How can I get some meaningful customer service to use the products and music I bought and paid for?
I think in previous incarnations, people would have jumped all over you for your approach, but the Lion operating has generated decidely mixed or even negative reviews from users. So no one seems to disagree with you. I think many folks are simply staying with 10.6 and waiting to see if OS 10.8 is better than 10.7. I've mostly avoided upgrading OS's, or when I do I jump over one version completely because I've waited long enough that I'm two versions behind.
Here are the things that will/would motivate me to update the OS:
* incompatibility with MS-Office (I'm not a MS-Office fan but I do need to use it)
* incompatibility with flash or other tools needed to view modern web content (this might be a while as I am still using several different Macs, the oldest being a 2005 PPC iMac with 10.5.8 and an fairly old/outdated flash, but it seems to still do ok with most web content). Our 2008 Intel Core 2 Duo iMac runs 10.6.8 and can do just about anything we need -- like you, I decided not to go to Lion because it didn't look like much of an improvement.
* incompatibility with various commercial software, such as TurboTax, or with web sites I use to manage financial accounts and such things
We got my daughter a new Macbook Air just before she started college, and Lion plus a new Macbook Air model came out a month later. I am glad now about it actually, I think some of the Lion "issues" would have annoyed her greatly (especially the odd dropping of wireless access points under Lion, everyone is on wireless at colleges now). I'm hoping that the 10.8 OS will be better than Lion. We had (probably still have) a certificate for a free Lion upgrade but we decided not to use it. -

I want to subscribe to itunes match but I have too many songs. Is there a way to select songs to store w/match like I can when syncing devices? I just get an error message that I can't subscribe because I have too many songs. I want to be able to back up some of my library w/match. Do I have to delete songs just so I can subscribe?
I found the same thing wtih my iPad. "Not available in USA". I bought the iPad here, and I am definitely in the US, and my settings confirm that I am registered in the US. So something else is going on. I went to an Apple store; the technician there showed me how to sign on to iTunes on my home computer and register for itunes match on the home computer -- but when I got home I couldn't get it to work.

my macbook (2008) is slow - is this because i have too much in it? i tried getting rid of 4000 of the 10000 photos i have,also got rid of some applications that i dont use, but is still takes ages to open an app or find a website. do i need more ram memory? or should i just get rid of what is in it? thanks for the insights

We started off with the original iPhone a few years ago and now between my wife and I (plus Kids) we have too many apple devices under the same apple-ID (2 X iPhone 6+, 2X macbook Pro, 2X iPod-touch and 1X iPad)
We are constantly running into issues because everyone in the house is using the same apple id, downloading Apps using the same ID, sharing the same cloud and receiving each other's iMessages.
I know that I can create another Apple-ID, what I am unclear on is once I do have a new apple ID, how do I assign that to half the devices (1X iPhone 6+, 1 X MBP and 1 Ipad)
Please respond if you are able to help.
Thank youI'm not sure what they told your at the Apple store, but each Apple ID can only create a single iCloud account. If you want separate accounts for all these devices, they will have to be created using separate IDs. Note: you can do this and still share the same ID for other services such as your iTunes store account. The iCloud ID does not need to be the same as the ID used for other services.
To create an account, go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with a different Apple ID. If you want to migrate a copy of the current iCloud data to the different accounts, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; the devices keeping the current account will not be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iDevice and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data. -

Lastly, just for grins, I created the two number functions, one with NUMBER, the other with REAL, and even these are allowed - they compile. But then at run time, it fails. I'm really confused.

That is because when you pass a TIMESTAMP Oracle cannot determine whether to implicitly convert it to VARCHAR2 and use your first function or implicitly convert it to DATE and use your second function. Hence the 'too many declarations' exist error.

I think the documentation, for the 'date' family, is wrong as you suggest. For INTEGER and REAL the issue is that those are ANSI data types and are really the same Oracle datatype; they are more like 'aliases' than different datatypes.

Intra-doc links (can you have too many??)
I have an ebook that will be apprx 500 pages. If I create intra-document links from the Table of Contents to each chapter, then back links from each page in every chapter to the TOC will this slow the perfomance of the PDF or does the number of intra-document links have no impact on performace.
For example, if I had 12 chapters, each chapter listed in the TOC would link to the first page of each chapter.
All 500 pages would have a link on the bottom of each page that the user could click and be taken back to the TOC.
Thanks for your help.I have some tables with over 100 million rows that still perform well, and I'm sure much larger tables are possible. The exact number of rows would vary significantly depending on a number of factors including:
Power of the underlying hardware
Use of the table – frequency of queries and updates
Number of columns and data types of the columns
Number of indexes
Ultimately the answer probably comes down to performance – if queries, updates, inserts, index rebuilds, backups, etc. all perform well, then you do not yet have too many rows.
The best way to rearrange the data would be horizontal partitioning. It distributes the rows into multiple files; which provides a number of advantages including the potential to perform well with larger number of rows.

Adding UDAs to the outline doesn't impact the size of Essbase database.
I've seen cubes with over 70 UDAs. And I think UDAs is the best choice to set load rules.
But for considering of the implication of Dynamic calculations as reporting on UDAs can be slow. Define UDAs on sparse dimensions only. -
I have recently purchased a new lap top. Both my wife and I share our Itune music. When I purchesed the computer I was able to authorize my itunes account on it and move my purchaced music over from my iphone. However, I was not able to move my wifes music over because she has too many devices authorized under her account. Most of those computers are no longer in our possession and have been thrown out. How can she deauthorzise computer we don't have in our possession anymore without deauthorizing them all?
Authorizing deauthorizing has NO effect at all on your itunes library. You lose nothing.
You should also alwasy have a backup copy.
You MUST deauthorize all.

Is it possible to have too many keyframes in one project in Premiere?
Hi all,
I'm using Premiere 6 on a Windows 7 ULT machine.
Is it possible to have too many keyframes in one project in Premiere?
I'm getting app crashes when I try to re-open a certain project in Premiere 6 and it seems that if that file has over 93 keyframes, then it will not re-open. But I can re-open that exact same project file with 93 keyframes in it, no problem.
But if I go any further and create any more keyframes than 93 in a new re-saved version of the exact same file, then that file will not re-open and I get an app crash... you can see screenshots of the two Windows app crash info panels below that I'm getting from three different bad Premiere project files that I've created so far.
I've tested and tested what is going on here and this seems to be what is causing the bad files. I've re-created the scenario and re-created files with over 93 keyframes from the same base project file that will still open... as soon as I get more than 93 keyframes in this file, then that newly saved file will not re-open after I close and try to re-open it.
This is 75 keyframes in one still image clip, 14 keyframes in another still image clip and 2 keyframes each in two other still image clips in a single project file... that is the limit... if I create any more keyframes in the clip that has 75 keyframes, the new file will save and render, but it won't re-open once it has been closed.
The two slightly different app crash info panels show, in the first one below,
"Fault Module Name: StackHash_e98d"
... and the second one shows,
"Fault Module Name: PREMINFO.dll"
... both messages with a little more different info in each one. I get either of the two error info panels when trying to re-open all three bad files that I've created with over 93 keyframes in them. That is, two of the files alternate between giveing "StackHash_e98d" and "PREMINFO.dll" when trying to open them and one of them always shows the "Fault Module Name: PREMINFO.dll" error.
So even the error messages are inconsistent with two of the bad files.
I've searched the internet for this error in association with Premiere and I've also searched on this forum and found nothing. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Even though I figured out a work around, I was still interested to know if these file opening crashes are related to Virtual Memory.
So on the topic of Virtual Memory... a few months ago I was troubleshooting a different problem in Premeire and I found this information...
"To improve performance in Premiere Pro, adjust the size of the paging file to a maximum of twice the amount of installed RAM."
Previous to that time three months ago or so, I had my Virtual Memory settings at the default automatic setting, but I tried setting my VM to twice the amount of installed RAM, and I've had it set that way ever since, just to make sure I'm optimizing the VM performance for Premiere and other apps.
But that isn't making any difference in this case. Today I also found information in a search that says to troubleshoot StackHash crashes, one should turn off "DEP" in the system settings for the application with the crash problem... according to the paragraph below, from the second post down by Chris on this tdistler.com page... http://tdistler.com/2009/04/10/stackhash-and-application-crashes-on-windows
Even though this was written in 2009 with Windows Vista in mind, many things for Vista work in Windows 7... it says,
"Here’s how 99 percent of Vista users can fix a StackHash failure. I’ll walk you through it step by step:

1. Open your Start menu and click Control Panel
2. Browse to “System Maintenance” then “System”
3. In the left panel, select “Advanced System Settings” from the available links
4. You should now see the System Properties Window, which will have three sections. The top section is labeled “Performance” and has a “Settings” button. Click this button.
5. Select the “Data Execution Prevention” tab.
6. Select the option which reads “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select”
7. Use the “Browse” button to locate the executable file for the application you were trying to start when you received the StackHash error, and click Open to add it to your exceptions list.
8. Click Apply or OK to commit your changes."
But I tried this and none of the three problem files that I encountered would open... I still got the StackHash_e98d or PREMINFO.dll crash errors.
So anyway, I'm a ways past that in my project now, just continuing with more keyframes over the number of 78 in separate but identical still image clips... that allows me to successfully work with this project with as many keyframes as I need.

Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open
I saved a file last night and now this morning I get an error message stating: "Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open. Try closing some windows and try again.". I've rebooted the system and made sure Photoshop was the only program running and that there were no other files open prior to trying to open my file. I increased Photoshops ram usage, checked the OpenGL settings, 3D and VRAM settings, cleared my temp files and am at a loss for opening this file.
System Specs:
Win 7 64
6 core I7 processor
32gb Ram
3GB VRAM
600gb free space on 7200 rpm drive
File specs:
1 3D object replicated maybe 5 times (yes, I should have rasterized them, and will do that to 4 of them if I get the file open)
Maybe 8 textures
Not sure how many total layers.
Is there anyway to get Photoshop to reopen this file?No, more VRAM is useless. I had the same thought as you so I tried with a friend's computer with 3GB of VRAM for 8GB RAM (mine has 1GB VRAM for 16GB RAM). Still got the same error message. Sorry guys but our files are lost until Adobe fix the error in Photoshop code. I hope in the future they will find a way to either fix this error or give a clear limitation, it is really a shame such a dangerous problem exists and persists for more than 3 photoshop gen.
Still you may be able to have at least a flat image of your latest file by trying to open the file as smart object. I started my work over by doing that. Not a lot but better than nothing.
However for my new file I am trying something different : Each time I think a 3D file is final, I do not rasterize it but make it into a smart object and save the new smart object into a single separated .psd file. If any change is needed I can still edit all of my 3D objects by opening them separately. So far it works, the global file is lighter with few to no 3D objects inside but I will not say it is a 100% no-risk method yet.
Last advice I can give everyone : Before closing the file you are working on, save it as a copy (File / Save as... and check 'As copy' in the options below) then with your main file still open, try to open the copy. You may need a lot of memory if your file is heavy but still if the dreaded error message appears when you try to open the copy then remove or rasterize some 3D objects in your main one. Save again as copy and try to open the copy until you do not get the message anymore. -
