Data entered in forms disappears
When I enter data in a form (specifically forms used to open on-line banking) with the latest Safari, the data does not seem to be registered, as the completed form will not go to the next stage. Sometimes the bank will return a message saying that no data was entered or data is missing. If I use Firefox, with exactly the same procedures, I do not have this problem. I had the same problems with earlier versions of Safari but then they went away. Now with the latest version they seem to be back again.
I have tried to make Safari think it is Firefox but that doesn't seem to work.
Has anybody else had this problem and, if so, have you found an answer? Thanks.
Hi,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to Other forms. Delete the url's for the sites you have problems entering values into forms.
Quit Safari (Command + Q) then relaunch Safari.
Your profile shows you are running Mac OS X (10.6.4). If that is the case, you need to update your system software. Click the Apple () menu (top left in your screen) Software Update ...

How can I enforce automatic spell checking for selected fields of data entered by form users?
I'd like to be able to enforce spell checking of selected fields in the forms that I've created using LiveCycle Designer 8.2 at run time, as opposed to design time. I understand the version LCD 8 has a nifty new spell checker for form designers. But I want to spell check the data entered by users using Acrobat Reader. And I want to enforce the spell checking automatically on selected fields only.
Presently it seems that users filling in my forms, must know how to manually right-click on each field and select "Spell Check" from the resulting dialog box in order to check for spelling errors in the data the user has entered in the form.
I would like to discover a way to enforce spell checking in selected fields, just as I am able to do in forms created using Acrobat Pro. In Acrobat Pro, I can set a property for each field to require spell checking. but that feature seems to be missing in Livecycle Designer.
I've check the Object model for XFA forms hoping that I might find a method I can call with a Javascript, to check spelling based on an event such as onBlur. But I haven't found a spell check method.
Am I missing something simple? Is there a way to set each field to be spell checked when a user is filling in the form using the free Acrobat Reader?
Our users are not sophisticated and requiring them to spell check each field separately just won't cut it...
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

Two things...
At design time set the locale of the form to one that Acrobat spell checks. For example English (US) and English (UK) locales have spell checkers; however English (Ireland) does not. Check the Warnings tab to see if spell checking is supported for your locale.
If your form locale supports spell checking then you can go to the button script below.
If you form locale does NOT support spell checking then Stephanie has a great work around to force spell checking (http://forums.adobe.com/message/2233945#2233945).
Bring a regular button onto the form and in the click event have the following:
app.execMenuItem("Spelling:Check Spelling");

I have a form with following fields being entered into a table: -- a start date for a project and then projected hours required on a monthly basis for X months
Start Date mnth1_resource mnth2_resource mnth3_resource ...

I would like to create a report (interactive or otherwise) that will provide headers for the actual months of the calendar showing the full range of months to cover the dates included in the data: e.g. if the above data was the only data entered then:
Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sept
30 20 80
50 70 60
40 120 90
80 30 70
Where mnth1 is the month of the start of the project--
Would appreciate any hints on how to accomplish this.

Thanks for the response. I see how a crosstab type report works great for data that is static and all in the table, however, in my case the issue is that the columns will vary depending on the start date of the project. So even though the user is only entering 12 months of projection, the total number of columns will depend on the start date of the latest project. For example, if a project does not start till June of 2011 and goes out 12 months, the actual column headers will need to go out to May 2012. Likewise the first column will be dependent on the earliest start date month-- like Feb 2011 in the sample data.

Adobe Reader 9.4 won't allow saving-copying-printing of data entered into form fields.
Hello, all. I own a fully automated Continuing Education website with a national customer base. The release of Adobe Reader 9.4 has brought a major problem for us which we haven't been able to overcome, and it's a critical issue which will destroy our business if the problem continues.
The problem: Our professionally licensed website users earn online, instantly downloadable Continuing Education certificates in PDF file format, which are auto-generated by our software program when the user has successfully completed a course and its quiz.
Each certificate is a template created by Adobe Acrobat Pro 6 which contains the boilerplate course goals, credit hours earned for the course, plus all of our educational approval numbers needed to conduct business in each state. THE PROBLEM HERE is that these generated certificates ALSO have form fields which are auto-completed by our system when the user successfully completes his or her course - i.e., the user's name, his license number, and the date and hour and minute of completion. Until some of our customers began to use Adobe Reader 9.4 on their PC this past week, the certificate generation process has performed flawlessly - for over 3 years now, for over a thousand customers - the only exception being the occasional MAC user who needs to download the correct version of Adobe Reader, and to use the correct browser.
Beginning last week, site users who have downloaded 9.4 can no longer SAVE their Continuing Education certificates to their computer with their name, license and date and time of completion showing on the certificate. And they can't even print the certificate correctly - their name, license, and date of completion appear as blank lines. They can't download or email the certificate with the critical form field data showing on the document. This is a devastating situation for our business and for the users - who certainly won't return, and are demanding refunds.
In fact, I (who installed 9.4 last week) discovered that I can't even download and save an intact copy of a customer's certificate from my own website, OR copy and paste information from a client's generated certificate in order to manually create a certificate for him or her. The on-screen message tells me that I am not allowed to do this with this document .... despite the fact that I was the creator of the document. Needless to say, when I un-installed 9.4, I had none of these problems.
Customers wouldn't have problems either if they uninstalled 9.4 - but you can't tell customers who call in to complain, to uninstall their Adobe Reader program and find something else. They also have to use Adobe Reader to view over half of the courses we offer, and they need to be able to work with them effectively with no problems.
In the past, because of occasional Adobe Reader problems of a different sort, we could tell customers to use Foxit or Nitro PDF if they had Adobe issues. But that was back in the day when there was no competition in running an online CE website. Now there is plenty of competition, and customers will just go elsewhere before they will try to reconfigure their computer just to stay with our site.
I will bet that hundreds (thousands?) of other online businesses who work with system-generated form fields in PDF documents have been similarly affected.
Is there a solution here? Surely this was an UNINTENDED result of Adobe's upgrade to 9.4. Is there something that we can do at our end to eliminate these issues? There are NO security protections or limitations imposed on these certificate documents. And we CANNOT eliminate the form fields that are filled internally when the customer passes t the course. Date and time of completion and all the rest are required by all of the States which license us. Many thanks!That was it!

Data should get inserted in all tables if i enter the form field only once
Hi, I have a new question again.
There are 5 tables in a database, that is t1, t2, t3, t4 & t5. the first 4 table has one common column, known as lc_no. I have build the form using the form builder. In that form, there is a 1 text field for lc_no. I have not started to code anything as yet in the form because everything with respect to it is working fine and even the data is getting inserted. But the problem is that, when i enter the data in the form, the lc_no gets loaded in only one table. I want the data to get inserted in all the tables. What should i code? How should i start off? I'm very new to this & don't exactly know how do i start with it ?

Form created in ES4 won't save data entered in acrobat readerXI
I have created a large form in Live Cycle Designer ES4. If I save the form as a pdf and open it in Acrobat Reader XI I get the message that I cannot save data entered in the form only print it. All I want to do is to put the form on our web site for people to download, complete, save and e-mail it back to me. I did consider an alternative method which is if I distribute the form and take the distributed pdf and save it locally, when it is opened in Reader you get the submit button on teh purple bar on teh right hand side. This will confuse a lot of our users so if there is a way to not have the submit button then that would work but how do I stop the submit button appearing on the purple bar?
You have to Reader-enable the form. You can do this in Acrobat 11 by opening the form in Acrobat and selecting: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools
Reader 11 can save non-enabled AcroForms (forms created in Acrobat), but not non-enabled XFA forms (forms created in LiveCycle Designer). -

Excel crashes when entering data from VBA form
After only 6 lines of data entered via VBA form with macros enables, excel crashes everytime. The code basically looks for the next empty row and then populates sheet with data from the form.
Is this known bug or is there something in the code causing this. I have tried on a couple of macs and get the same result.

(numbers on ipad) drops several of the important features that I created in the laptop version such as headers and footers, fonts, steppers, sliders, etc.
It sounds like your having no data entry at all. There is a known issue with certain formulas causing crashes, but not every data entered like you seem to be stating.
I might have missed it, but did you delete and reinstall Numbers on your ipad?
If not, please write down EXACTLY the steps used to reproduce the problem, then go to http://www.apple.com/feedback and input this into a bug report for ipad numbers. Be very specific as to the steps involved to get to the crash point.

Form is cutting off half of data entered in a text box
I have a form for users to complete and email back to us which works fine for some users. When some users are completing the form half of the data entered into the text boxes is being cut off. I am not sure why it is working for fine for some and not for others. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
Check the max length on the field being trimmed.

Data entered by user in the front end is lost when ever their is an error
Hi,
I am working for an internal tool aplication which is used to enter/manipulate employee details.
We are using ORACLE APEX for this.
We have completed most of the application wr.t Master detail page
But when we are testing we had this problem as below:
The user enters a new record with some details as Employee name,DOJ,Salary etc
When the user has entered correct details the data is loaded in to database,
But when the data entered is wrong at any stage say Salary after entering say 10 fields, an error is popped up as per the code. And when the user getss back to the eneterd fields to change the data suddenly eneterd fileds are disappeared.
Can anyone please help us in understanding this with a solution

I created One Report region (tabular form) to validate the row entered by user, creating page level validation using apex_application..here it is not possibe to create the item level validation.If there is any possibilty plz send the process how to create item level validation..

How to make data persist in form?

I've made multiple forms for a Web site. Each form is within its own module. The problem is the data entered into a form disappears as soon as the user shifts to another form (and consequently, another module). How to make the data persist in the form even if the user shifts away to another module? I've tried using a Model to hold the data but the data didn't stay in the text fields.

KearneyI thought ModuleLoader could only load one Module at a time, and unloaded the current Module when called to load the next Module. This app has only one ModuleLoader, which loads various modules as different states are called.
If the Model to hold the form data is in the shell application, how to wire each Model to each Form (assuming the forms are still in various modules)?

Issue while reflecting the data to ADF form from ADF Table
Hi All,
I have one scenario as follows:
I have to open a form in entry mode. So I have used a Method Call activity in task flow to call "Create" in method call activity.
Then form opens in a entry mode. I have a adf table in the page showing the entered data.
When form opens in entry mode, instead of entering the values in the field User selects a record in ADF table, but due to the create mode of the form it will through me a error to fill mandatory fields.
Please tell me the way so that if user selects the record(in adf table) instead of entering new record, the value would reflect in the Adf form.
If I use a roll back on selecting the row of ADF table, then it is showing me this error "Row currency has changed since the user interface was rendered. The expected row key was oracle.jbo.Key[null ]" because there will be no row key in the cache when form opens.
Please suggest me the way to complete the task.

first thing: go through the books & also adf blogs learn and understand the framework. as above person said.
i hope that you had method call create as activity as default while page rendering it make your af: form empty(that is ready fir insertion format).
so if your are doing like that.am sure it will throw some mandatory errors.
error will not resolve unless without entering any data's.
coming af:table why are using af:table - immediate = true / false(switching).
immediate = true - skip over validation or by pass some validation in some phase - based on the component which you are using. (say as if you are using editable value holder,af:coomand button).

Problem with transfering unicode form data in MULTIPART/FORM-DATA
HI experts,
I have this web based multilingual application. Page 1(form6.jsp) is basic registeration form with 5 fields and one image upload to the server. Page 2(verify.jsp) is another jsp page for verification of UTF data entered in page 1.
page 2 (verify.jsp) also uses a bean called (verify.java) for picking up values. page 3(insertEntry.jsp) is the page for inserting that data into the Database and uses a bean called (logicbean.java).
Now, the problem im facing here is that if i use multipart/form-data, the unicode text filled in page1 is shown as garbage when its is transfered to page2 and displayed on page2. It is all gibberish. But if i do not use multipart/form-data, the unicode text transfered from page1 to page2 is displayed perfectly on page2.Im using devenagari(UTF) language for filling in details.

Help with exporting data from pdf form
I have about 100 pdf forms that I created in adobe forms central and distributed as a pdf form (rather than on the web). I am trying to export the data into a spreadsheet but when I export it, the fields are all jumbled in the csv file, as in they are not in the same order. I need to export the data all together so I'm going to the forms menu and selecting "manage form data" and then selecting "merge data files into spreadsheet". I tried exporting a single file but that gave me something really weird.
Please help, I have a deadline next week to analyze this data and can't make sense of it once it is exported to a spreadsheet.Would you please share your form with me and send me one of your pdf forms and some of the csv files?
You can share your form by doing the following:
1. Click on the “Share” icon on the bottom left corner.
2. Click on “Add Collaborator” on the popup menu.
3. Enter [email protected] under “People to share with”.
4. Set subject to "Export data from pdf form"
5. Click the “Share” button on the bottom right of the dialog.

HFM - log that shows if a user has loaded data via web form or excel load.
I can see any data loads that are coming from FDM, but is there a log that shows any data entered into HFM via web forms or submitted through an excel file? Any input is appreciated.
ThanksYou could enable Data Audit to capture data changes made by users, though this will not capture which method users chose to change the data. That is, HFM can show that data changed, and who changed it, but cannot tell whether the data was changed through a form, grid, smart view, or FDM. If you want to prevent users from changing data through forms, grids, or smart view, you can secure those input methods, but you cannot capture which one is used.
