Data extraction using ODS objects

Hello everybody,
I am trying to extract CRM data into SAP BW.
Found a standard ODS Object 0CRMBPKPI, which i think is relavent as i need to extract Business partner data from CRM.
Does anybody know the procedure how to extract data using this ODS object?
or exists any standard Infocube to extract Business partner data?

- First check the Error Messages from the context menu of the activation step. Also check ST22 & SM21. This will tell you where the error is. Sometimes you might get duplicate records.
- Next use the "Manage" context menu for the ODS in RSA1. Check if any of the previous records are red. If its red, it would mean that either load/activation has failed for previous request which needs to be corrected first b4 you correct the current one.
- If al the above are OK, simply repeat the Activation step.

Error on activation of data records from ODS object

Kindly help with my BW Problem, the error occured on the
activation of ODS. The error says "Request
REQU_43MNOPW29W4F5M037J7OAFP52 in ODS ZPUR_O01 must have QM
status green before it is activated" and "Activation of data

I tried to check the data in the ODS Object by choosing
<LS>Administrator Workbench > data targets > context menu on ODS
Object ZPUR_O01 but the status are green and when i tried to
activate it the logs says "ODS object ZPUR_O01 was built
incorrectly. Cannot update request

1) delete the current request
2)Reconstruct the requests above three request
3)and then Load the current reqest (REQU_43MNOPW29W4F5M037J7OAFP52)
Then only u will be able to activate the ODS....
This is an serialization issue...

Update data targets from ODS object automatically

Hello experts,
I have an ods (that has two delta loading every night) with the setting: "Update data targets from ODS object automatically". This ODS is source of only one other ODS.
But we have a chain when there are the seguent steps: delta 1 --> ODS1,
delta 2 --> ODS1; Activate ODS1; delta --> ODS2; Activate ODS2.
The setting "Update data targets...automatically" could create some problems?
I think this because it is happened that in delta loading of ODS2, some records have only the key filled, and all the data fields blank; then, if I make a full repair of these records, all data are correctly filled.
Could be this the cause?
Help me..it is urgent..

Hi Vito,
To have better control of processes when ods gets data from multiple sources and supply it forward to ODS and cube ...we generally deactivate the flag "update data automatically".
And Process chains looks like ..
From source 1,2,3 update data into ODS 1.
Activate Data ODS1
Initiate delta from ODS1 to ODS2.
Activate data ODS2.
We did face some problem of blank records with only key filled and later deactivated the checbox "Update data into data targets automatically" and it resovled lots of issues.

ODS activation error"Activation of data records from ODS object terminated"

Hi All,
While activating ODS request I am getting following error
"Activation of data records from ODS object KFI02O50 terminated ".
data load is suceesful for ODS but during activation of the request it is giving error.
I tried to change the status to green manually & then activated the request but still same problem.
Also I tried to delete request & loaded again from PSA & then activated the request but still same problem
If anybody has some solution please let me know.

Hi Sonal,
Sometimes when there is erroeneous records that time while activating the Request request get fails.To check this go to manage tab of the ODS there under log u can see the log icon click on that and check y activation got failed..

Data Extraction and ODS/Cube loading: New date key field added

Good morning.
Your expert advise is required with the following:
1. A data extract was done previously from a source with a full upload to the ODS and cube. An event is triggered from the source when data is available and then the process chain will first clear all the data in the ODS and cube and then reload, activate etc.
2. In the ODS, the 'forecast period' field was now moved from data fields to 'Key field' as the user would like to report per period in future. The source will in future only provide the data for a specific period and not all the data as before.
3) Data must be appended in future.
4) the current InfoPackage in the ODS is a full upload.
5) The 'old' data in the ODS and cube must not be deleted as the source cannot provide it again. They will report on the data per forecast period key in future.
I am not sure what to do in BW as far as the InfoPackages are concerned, loading the data and updating the cube.
My questions are:
Q1) How will I ensure that BW will append the data for each forecast period to the ODS and cube in future? What do I check in the InfoPackages?
Q2) I have now removed the process chain event that used to delete the data in the ODS and cube before reloading it again. Was that the right thing to do?

-->> Try to load data into ODS in Overwrite mode full update asbefore(adds new records and changes previous records with latest). Pust delta from this ODS to CUBE.
If existing ODS loading in addition, introduce one more ODS with same granularity of source and load in Overwrite mode if possible delta or Full and push delta only subsequently.

--> Yes, It is correct. Otherwise you will loose historic data.

Data extraction using Function Midule

Dear Experts,
Previously we had a FM to extract data from an ODS into a csv file.
Now we want to extract data from an infocube using a similar method (to save into a csv file again.)
BEFORE we were extracting from ODS transparent table /BIC/AYPU_O1140.
Now I want to extract from the infocube 0CCA_C11.
So I thought I should use /BIC/F0CCA_C11.
But actually the fields are not there. Only dimensions keys are mentionned.
Example:
I want the value type 0vtype, the infoobject is in one of the dimensions of 0CCA_C11.
But in F0CCA_C11, there is only a field KEY_0CCA_C113...
So my question is : were is the data ?
For vtype (dim13) should it be in /BI0/D0CCA_C113 table
And what about navigational attributes (like 0profit_ctr) or KF (like 0mount)?
How can I extract them? Were is the active data stored?
I'm looking froward to reading your suggestions.

Infocube data extraction using ABAP

Hi,
We need to extract Charactristics values data from Infocube but LISTCUBE cannot be used because of reasons of flexibilty.
can any body suggest a way of the data extraction from the Infocube.I tried using the 'RSD_CUBE_DATA_GET' but not to much success also SAP will not support for later releases.
If anybody has a template program can you plaese send it.

R/3 Master Data Extraction Using Function Module

Hi Experts,
Could you please let me know why & How (Detail procedure) to extract R/3 master data using function module.
My team manager asked me to extract master data from R/3 for 3 more attributes of info object '0material' which is already defined as data target.

The steps for creating extractor using Function Module. I
1. Create new Function group (if you have already not done so) in Se80
2. Copy Function module "RSAX_BIW_GET_DATA_SIMPLE" with suitable name.
3. Change the code that populate data.
Following table may give you the guideline for parameters.
Parameter Description
I_REQUNR (import) BW provides this request identifier. It is a system-generated identifier in the form REQU_XXXXXX. BW uses this same identifier in all function module calls that relate to a single load.
I_DSOURCE (import) The name of the generic extractor
I_MAXSIZE (import) The maximum number of records that BW expects to be in each data packet
I_INITFLAG (import) A Boolean flag that indicates if this is the initialization (first) call to the function module
I_READ_ONLY (import) A test flag not needed in most extraction scenarios
I_T_SELECT (table) This table holds any selections from the BW InfoPackage. The function module should examine these selections and only return data that matches the selections.
I_T_FIELD (table) This table holds the fields that BW requests
E_T_DATA (table) The function module fills this table with data records. These records then return to BW as data packets. This table has the same structure as the extract structure defined in the generic DataSource.
NO_MORE_DATA (exception) The function module raises this exception when no more data is available
ERROR_PASSED_TO_MESS_HANDLER (exception) The function module raises this exception if an error occurred during the extraction. It alerts BW to check for error logs.

as the no.. of records arelot more then your usual loading ..
so it will take mmuch more time today ..but make sure that the job is running fine..
You can create load the data by creating selection but at this point i dont think you can do this.. because for this you have to kill the job ..may be some changes would have been happened
in the Ip thats why its picking more records..

Master data extraction using RDA???

i 'have an idea on how to extract transaction data in a regular intervals using RDA Concept.
But i have a requirement in my project is there any way to extract master data(if any changes happen in Master Data in ECC immediately available to BW)
in a regular intervals using RDA.
if the solution is there using RDA please guide me otherwise suggest me the Best solution for this.

yes it is possible to extract master data using RDA mechanism.. Your datasource should be RDA enabled, for which, you need to have access key - if the data source is standard datasource.
In generic datasources, you can mark it as "Real Time enable"..

   Please follow the below steps fro change pointers.
1.      In the Implementation Guide (IMG, transaction SALE), choose Modeling and Implementing ® Master Data Distribution ®Replication of Modified Data ® Activate Change Pointers ‑ Generally.
2.      Set the activation status Activate Change Pointers ‑ Generally, and save your entry (i.e BD61 Activate Change Pointers ).
3.      Choose the activity Activate Change Pointers for Message Types like ORDERS.
4.      Set the active indicator for the message type .
5.      Save your entries.

Problem in data extraction using 2LIS_11_VAITM

Hi,
For sales order item detail I am using a standard data source 2LIS_11_VAITM.
And for this I have not written any code in exit.
But for a particular date some of Sales Document: Item Data has pulled to BI using delta upload and some of not pulled.
As some of sales order items are missing in BI. So i dentified those sales order detail in R/3
So the Problem is coming for only those records which have created on 04.10.2008,27.10.2008, 01.11.2008.
And the process chain for 05.10.2008, 28.10.2008, 02.11.2008 has not executed which suppose to pull the data for 04.10.2008,27.10.2008, 01.11.2008. The error is in delta uploading.
On 05.10.2008, 28.10.2008, 02.11.2008 the server is down at the scheduled time of process chain.
So the data suppose to come on next delta upload.
So 0n 06.10.2008, 29.10.2008, 03.11.2008 the delta executed successfully.
But all the records which are created on 04.10.2008,27.10.2008, 01.11.2008 hv not pulled to BI which I checked in PSA.
Only some of records which are created on 04.10.2008,27.10.2008, 01.11.2008. are in PSA.
Please suggest your idea.

Are you loading to the DSO??
Then
1)fill the set up table for the following dates only for which you have misssed the records.
2) Do a full repair to the targets for these date after the set up table is filled.
3) schedule a normal delta to the further targets from this DSO.
If loading to the cube directly??
1)do a selective deletion from the cube for these dates
2)fill the set up table for the following dates only
3) Do a full repair to the targets for these date.
No need to delete or do anything with the existing init in any case.

Data entry using matrix object

HI,
I am new to SAP B1 and its SDK. I got struck while trying with the Turotial provided with SDK Help center - Blanket Agreement. Following are the problems.
1) The Status combo box is not having values
2) The values I entered into the Matrix columns are vanished when I navigated to next field(Combo box/Edit Text).

Hi Ajith,
You should look in the example code under the subs : AddDataSource and BindDataSource
For every items in SBO, you should create the user data source and Bind it to your item
If you fail to bind it, or error were raised when binding it, your input value will be lost.
Example for an EditText created . Unique ID for this item is "txtExample"

Error loading data into ODS object

Hi,
I am trying to load some data into an ODS object, which actually does not seem very difficult. I got the InfoObjects and structure of the ODS object all set up. Transfer rules are defined and I succeed in loading the data into PSA.
From there i trigger the forwarding into the ODS object. And this is what i get (I use the BI in German, so maybe the translations are not 100% correct):
message missing: tranfer rules finished.
seems like the system does not get a esponse as to whether the transfer rules are worked through yet. this results in a timeout because nothing happens.
i'm sorry i cant give any more detailed information. maybe someone can give me a direcion in which to search for mistakes. irebuilt the transfer rules and compared with others, and found nothing. still the same problem...

Oh yeah, that error message i've been talking about was actually a note in the details of the monitor.

i hope this gives an idea.
i couldn't come up with any solution so far. don't know why this response is missing after the processing of the data started.
