Data feeder wireless 2.0

As any one tryed the data feeder in wireless 2.0?
I'm having trouble putting my data feeder to work. Does any one have an example? I 'm trying to feed an XML news file to the feeder and then create a master service to access those news.
Thanks

Hi Thomas,
Thanks again. I have no problem to follow the walkthrough you mentioned. The problem I had was that I tried to utilize this walkthrough with a little modification - I use the "app" protocol instead of using the "file" protocol. Unfortunately, I seem not be able to get the data feeder read the data my small app generated.
Thanks anyway.

    Dear all,

You configured the PowerPivot unattended data refresh account, but now data refresh is failing. Check for these possible conditions:
Choosing the wrong credentials option in the schedule data refresh page.
Insufficient permissions on remote computers or data sources.
Follow the steps below to re-add the unattended data refresh account and see how it works:
    1. Create a Data feed library .
    2. Upload the local copy of you data feed to there.
    3. Open up your report and change the connection.
    4. Use Secure Store Service by adding your unattended PowerPivot refresh account.

    Hi Gonçalo,
The error message shows that the account didn't have sufficient permission access to the data source(SharePoint List data feed). PowerPivot data refresh is performed by Analysis Services server instances in the SharePoint farm, we may need to grant the
account running SQL Server Analysis Services (POWERPIVOT)
Read permissions to the SharePoint list we are attempting to refresh.
In addition, the external data sources that are accessed during data refresh must be available and the credentials you specify in the schedule must have permission to access those data sources.
For more information, please take a look at the following article:

If you are using Claims Auth then this is a known limitation.  Auto refresh only works under Classic Auth.

  • Refresh Data feed error in Excel Workbook

    Hi
    I am getting the error
Errors in the high-level relational engine. The following exception occurred while the managed IDbConnection interface was being used The payload kind 'BinaryValue' of the given data
feed is not supported.. A connection could not be made to the data source with the DataSourceID ...
The excel workbook was earlier configured using the data feed which was not stored in a data feed library. I then created the data feed library, placed the data feed in it and edited the connection
    to the new path.
I am getting the above error now. Please help

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you configured the workbook to use the data feed in a data feed library.
Did this issue occur with all the Excel workbooks which use the data feeds in the data feed library?
I recommend to create a new workbook to use the data feeds in the data feed library following the steps in the link below to see if the issue still occurs:

Please also check if the data feed is created correctly referring to the link below:

  • How do I use an XML Data Feed or a CSV Data Feed?

I am trying to build a website for a business I started. My drop shipper has a "data feed" that has all of the info for the products (over 100k products). The data feed is available in bot XML and CSV format. I have searched what seems like forever, and cannot find any info on how to actually make it work.  Can anyone point me in the direction of how to actually do this? I have both dreamweaver and muse.do everything?
Do I need to create different pages and things like that? Or does the data feed
Also, The data feed is updated every  12 minutes after the hour, every 8 hours from the dropshipper, so will inputting the data feed automatically change on the website, or will I need to re add the data feed code every day?
This is what the dropshippers website says ...
Files on this page can be used to populate drop ship websites. We recommend that you update the inventory on your site as often as possible, both to make sure you have all the items we carry, and to avoid placing orders with us for items that are out of stock or discontinued.
The Bronze feeds, (i.e., ELD-B01.csv, MC-B01.csv, ELD-B01.xml, and MC-B01.xml) start the update process 12 minutes after the hour, every 8 hours at 08:12, 16:12, 00:12 CST. Be advised it takes awhile to complete the update process because of the many different feeds and the amount of data.. The OutofStock.csv, Discontinued.csv and InStock.csv feeds are updated every 15 minutes.
    Thanks in advance!

You would need to parse the XML feed into your site with PHP or JavaScript.

  • SSDT - Using a SharePoint list data feed as source - "column does not exist in the rowset" error

    Hey guys!
So, I want to use a SharePoint list data to create a cube/tabular model, in order to make a complex analysis in PPS using MDX.
To create the tabular model, I'm using the SS Data Tools, and importing a feed from the respective SharePoint list (using the _vti_bin/listdata.svcextension and then selecting the list(s) I wanna to import).
Everything looks fine and smooth, I can select and preview the data in the table import wizard, but in the end, when importing, I always get this error IF the table has one or more row of data (if the table is empty, it's ok...) - the <...>
column doesn't exist in the rowset.
(Curiously, when I have the same procedure in PowerPivot for Excel, I have no problems, everything works fine. The problem is that then I get again errors if I try to create a tabular model on SSDT importing a PowerPivot file).
    Here's the error:
Had you already tried this in SSDT? Are you experiencing the same trouble?
Best regards, and thanks in advance!
    Jorge Mateus
    Jorge Mateus

    I noticed something else too.
I can't process Tabular Models on both SSDT and SSMS (2012), but I can process Tabular Models created on PowerPivot.
I tried to create a Data Feed connection on PowerPivot, and it was successfully created. However, if restoring the PowerPivot Tabular DB on my SSAS Tabular instance and processing (full) the model through SSMS, it won't work.
Is there anything different on PowerPivot and SSDT related with Partitioning or connections to the data sources?

  • How do I display a live webpage (live data feed) as part of my looping flash movie.

G'Day All, I've been tasked with creating a flash movie for a client (3 scenes, some text and images) simple enough, the challenge is one of the scenes needs to display a live page from a locally hosted website (it's a graphic display of a live data feed from a solar panel array on the roof). • Work Schedule in HR Master Data Feeding Work Center!

    Hi,
I have several questions on how work schedule in HR master data relates to the work center for capacity planning.
    1. How do we assign the employee to a work center? is that in the HR master data or work center or some other transaction?
    2. If we can assign an employee to a work center, how the work schedule in the HR master data feeds the work center capacity? Is there any button that I can control whether I want to feed the work center capactiy from HR master data work schedule or from manual input directly to work center?
    3. If I can feed the HR master data work schedule to work center, what do I need to do to reflect the vacation time or sick time which is not in the work schedule in the HR master data to the work center?
    Thanks,

  • Error when importing from Data Feeds

SQL Server 2012 SSAS. Very funny error. I cannot same issue in forums:
Errors in the high-level relational engine. The following exception occurred while the managed IDbCommand interface was being used: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required..
An error occurred while processing the partition XXXXX
The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.
When I go through the import everything seems to be fine: it successfully connects to the report/data feed, it lets me preview and filter tablix displaying information, but when I click Finish, it throws the error on import.
What could it be? I have configured credentials and Proxy in SQL Server Agent.

  • Export As Data Feed

    Hello,
I am trying to find a way to add the export as data feed button to my SharePoint list - connection (subcategory).  From my research this is normally done with procedures using "SharePoint Central Administration".  However, I am using
the Office 365 Trial of E3.
I want this feature so that I can start to sync feeds to Pivot Point and get a sample dash going.
    Any advice?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kent

    Hi Kent,
Office  365 Enterprise 3 have PowerPiovt feature, if you activate the PowerPiovt feature, ‘Export as Data Feed’ will be available.
I am not a SharePoint Online expert, and in general, you can activate the feature in Site Collection Administration.
     1.Open your site
2.Click Settings on the top-right of the page, and click Site settings
3.Click Site collection feature under Site Collection Administration
4.Scroll  to PowerPiovt feature, and check if the status is Active. If not, Activate it.
If you use Excel 2013 client to read data feed, I recommend you use Power Query to read the data, or more easily, you can use excel to read the data directly.

  • Uploading iweb data feed file

l have published my website using a host and l would like to upload the data feed file to a shopping site.
What is the easiest way to do this

    @rp0428
Thanks for taking out the time to reply to this. If we talk in terms of a tree structure, in the normal scenario we would the hierarchy as described before.
    -FWDREF
    --SECTID
    ---ILLREF
If we don't talk in terms of xml and xsd and just talk in terms of database and keys, FWDREF would be parent, SECTID would be child and ILLREF would be grandchild. Now, in case, SECTID does not appear, we would still want a key to be generated but have a default value corresponding to it so that the parent, child and grandchild relationship is mentioned.
The whole purpose of this XSD design is to use it in ODI where this feed file will be automatically loaded into tables from the XML generated with the parent, child and grandchild relationship maintained.
Also, I have taken a sample data set. In the actual case, the hierarchy goes upto a maximum of 20 levels.
Thanks to everyone and anyone who takes out time for this!

  • Is it possible to create an Apple Script to import data from a web data feed (RESTful XML/JSON)?

Before I get started looking for a programmer, does anyone know if it will be possible to create a script that will allow Numbers to connect to an external data feed in either XML or JSON? I want to enable some colleagues who use Mac to connect to the same data feed that Excel for Office connects to.. Thanks,

It is definitely not hard to import XML or JSON data via an AppleScript. As an amateur tinkerer, I found a way, for example, to bring in OFX data from my bank (OFX is a flavor of XML) using the XML parser built into System Events, which is AppleScriptable.
How satisfied your colleagues would be with the solution, though, will depend on what you mean by "connect to an external data feed." If you are dealing with datasets in the thousands of rows and need frequent and rapid response, then you may not be happy. In that kind of situation you would need to expect at least a few seconds of wait time every time you "refresh."
If, as in my case, you have only a few hundred rows and don't need to bring the data in every few seconds, then the AppleScript solution is very practical. The programmer could probably goose the performance and make the job easier by using AppleScript as a wrapper for a script in Python or another language that is faster than AppleScript at parsing XML and JSON.

I would imagine that there are because of all of the ticker applets that I see out there. I'd really like to build a rich client application in eclipes and don't know if there are sites that you can use RMI to get the data or if there are sites that you can stream in an XML feed.
