Data getting summed up

Hi All
Can any body help me explain how can we upload data via excel in SSM. Exactly same data in the excel needs to be moved to PAS. For eg the value should not get aggregated at parent level rather display the data the way it is passed through excel.
Right now I'm facing issue that values is getting either summed up or avg at parent node and not picking the value passed through excel.
Where and what setting needs to be changes to resolve my issue.

Hi Rohini,
If you are already loading values at all levels of the dimension, you won't need to run the consolidation for those metrics.
You do have to run the consolidation for the metrics to which you are only loading INPUT data.
And if you have metrics for which the members should get aggregated along the hierarchy using only SUM or AVERAGE, then you can choose to load all the hierarchy, or just the INPUT members with a consolidation running afterwards. Loading INPUT members and consolidate could have better performance. Also, if you need to change just one member of the dimension for the metric, you wouldn't need to load the full hierarchy, a consolidation would ensure all values were consistent.

5 bugs between 09/01/11 and 09/30/2011 then 5 under sep_11
In this case we need to calculate correct no of days for feb

So...
You need to iterate based on something like the month, quarter, year... Then query on that. I'll use a "WITH" clause to illustrate:

Data getting truncated while exporting report to a text file in crystal 10?

Hi All,
I am using crystal 10.When exporting report to a text file ,a dialog prompts asking for Character perinch with a default value 9.If I change the value from 9 to 16 i am getting the correct data(that means character per inch value is 16) and it update "CharPerInch" value in registry under following location to 16.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.0\Crystal Reports\Export\Text
The dialog asked for character per inch also has option to select not to prompt again and i also selected that in first go.
When i export the report again in text format it didn't prompt for number of character per inch but the data gets truncated.
What i believe is even though it updates entry in registry and reads, it is not using the same value for export. It never consider the value that is in registry, if the check box is not selected then it is using the value entered in the dialog and if the check box is selected then in the next run it uses the default value as 9.
Can anyone suggest me how to override this problem ? Is there any other setting place in registry where i can enter the number of character per inch.I don't want to crystal to prompt always for character per inch.

Hi Venkateswaran,
The other option to avoid truncation of the data could be
Right click the text filed
Click on Format Text to open the Format Editor
On Common tab check the text box for Can Grow.
This will prevent the data from truncating in preview as well as while exporting to text.
Otherwise you will have to set the characters per inch to 16 each time. I donu2019t see changing the registry value causing any difference here.

How to prevent a number field from getting summed?

I want to display the # of clients per a certain ID number. (In order to show the duplicate records by setting a filter in the # of clients field). However, this works if the ID number is a text field... but it doesn't work if the ID number is a metric of client... or number. It gets summed up, I get the total, and the % of clients turns to be 1.
Any ideas?

I want the following output:

I get the desired result by adding a second column (# of clients) and creating a filter to get results only if the value is > 2.
The problem is when "Column A" is a number field. If it is a number field, I get total sum of the records (55+55+44+21) and a value of "1" if I add the # of clients column.
Is it clearer now? ideas?

This is with respect to the Issue we are facing for the Orders having Product Allocation on multiple materials. Please find enclosed the detials below.
Issue : Scehdule Line Date getting change to future date once the Sales Order is saved. These Order's are having Product Allocation on multiple materials.
Description:
We have implemented Product Allocation few months back.
We have Product Allocation on multiple materials which are in demand and has been reserved for the Customers of different PA behaviors.
When we are trying to create the Sales Orders for the normal customer who is not on Product Allocation. The Order Schedule Line is getting changed to future date once the Sales Order is saved after initial creation.
These Order's are having materials of Product Allocation.
I have enclosed the sample screen shot of the error we are getting which saving the Sales Order and also the Order Schedule Line screen shot showing future date.
Error Message : There may be Product Over Allocation in Delivery Group 001.
Message No : VV023
This is a random behavior we are coming across and out of 10 Order 2 or 3 Orders is getting this Issue.
Please share your inputs how to rack this Issue.
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Check whether you need to carry out the coding corrections as recommended in the following note:-
Note 52067 - Message VV023/VV024, but no prod.alloc.processing
But I wonder this is for older versions and not sure whether this would help you to overcome from the issue.

Data getting lost in essbase

We use a replicated partition to copy data from planning to essbase application. Partition works fine and data gets copied. We have another separate maxl script which does changes to the outline. This script exports the data from essbase, clears the database, updates the outline, reimports the exported data and does a cube build. Once this maxl completes, whatever data copied from planning is lost. But if I look at the export file, planning data exist in the export file. We know import process is working fine, because other data not loaded thru partition exist in essbase.. Only data loaded from planning gets lost..
Can someone help me on this issue?

1. You maxl does the following things
exports data
clears data
updates the outline
reimports the data
2. After you reimport,Are you trying to retrive to confirm the data ?
3. After you reimport the data, check the properties of database ( check whether the new blocks have been loaded , and increased the count ).
4. Are you exporting all data , or only level 0 ?
5. If its only level 0, You need to aggregate or consolidate ( by running calculation script).

Data getting posted on refreshing IE's refresh button..how to stop

we have beent rying to resolve this issue. the problem is when we click on submit button data getting posted on to mobile devices and in the next page "message has been sent " text will come.but if refresh button is clicked again data getting posted to mobile devices.Navigation is like this as below specified.
1. Login---submit(html file)
2. jsp page1 with three fields (sender name, mobile numbers, msg box), submit button. on clicking submit calling one java program for sending msgs another jsp page for displaying req is successfull or not.
3. jsp page 2 displaying "Your message has been sent". Here our problem arises. if the user sends msg for say 10 numbers msg will go and he will come to jsp page2. but if he clicks refresh button on browser/F5 data is getting posted again to the same numbers. so wastage of 10 credits. if it is 100 numbers data will be posted again for the second time to 100 numbers on clicking refresh. which is not at all acceptable by the customer. so the data should not get posted on clicking refresh.
so please help me in resolving this issue ... its a priority task. it would be great help for me and i would be thankful to all who ever contributing ur valuble suggestions if possible with code.

Any browser will resend post data on refresh. Maybe store old data for one session then ignore it if its the same as next submition?

Data getting duplicated on B2B

We are having a strnage issue of data getting duplicated on B2B, when a inbound transaction is received by TP for 2 of the Vendors we are seeing that the data is getting duplicated but the same Document Defination is being used by a 3rd trading partner too, but for that 3rd partner we are not seeing any duplicate, also for rest of the 2 Trading partners duplicate happen for couple of days and strangley one day their will be no duplicates. I have verified the WEb logs there is no duplicate entries at Web tier, so data being sent twice by TP is ruled out, Any inputs on the issue will be really helpful. I have SEV 1 SR open for the issue even oracle and working with them on the same.

Can you provide few more details -
1. Exact version and patch level of your B2B?
2. When you say duplicate then does it mean that you are seeing two business message report for same message or You see only one report at B2B and middleware is receiving the message twice?
3. Which document and exchange protocols are you using?
There were few known bugs related to duplicate message appearance so it's good that you have logged a SR in parallel with support. You might be hitting one of the known bugs. Can you also let me know the SR number please?

TreeTable with inputText column data gets lost in adf 10g

Hello All. I have a TreeTable in my page with two columns for user inputs. After a node is expanded, the data gets lost... The TreeTable was created using ViewObjects, here is one example of the sql query of one of the ViewObjects:

I checked them up, but first, I noticed they apply to adf 11g, and second none of them use inputText in columns. I really couldn't find a any idea to solve my issue.
Any other suggestions?
My problem is that when I expand/collapse a node, the values in the inputTexts are lost. I don't know if I need something else on my page Definition...

You shouldn't lose any data when upgrading, but always play it safe and make a backup first.

Getting sum of each column in 2D array

Stop assuming the rows in your matrix are all the same length. Arrays know how long they are. Use that information to determine if the current column exists in that row.
