First of all, Data Integrator is not a reporting tool, it is an ETL tool from SAP BO.
1) When we go for Data Integrator and Rapid marts
2) What is the importance of Data Integrator
3) Can you give a scenario for Data Integrator and Rapid marts..
Rapid Mart is a pre-built information component, that use DI as an ETL tool which extracts data
from different source systems like SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, Siebel & JD Edwards, integrating and
loading into datamarts.
The analytic datamarts(pre defined data warehouse application) focused on different subject areas..
such as Sales, HR, Inventory, Accounts etc..
4) what are the basics required to know Data Integrator
Data Warehouse and ETL concepts.
5) What is the land scape of Data Integrator
6) What are Advatages and Dis advantages of Data Integrator.
Data Integrator allows to develop data warehouse applications in both Batch and Real-Time job mode
Data Integrator manages the data from heterogeneous and homogeneous sources and transforms the data
according to business logic, integrates into single data source for analysis.
It extracts the data from operational source systems and external source systems typically like RDBMS,
Flat files, XML files, XML Messages, SAP IDocu2019s, PeopleSoft, Siebel etc

  • Data Integrator and Data Quality

    Hi,
I worked on BI 7.0 and now exploring Business objects. I wanted to know how Data Integrator and Data Quality products relate to SAP BI 7. What is the purpose of using them. Is this integration and quality features not embedded in SAP BI 7.

BI and Data Services share many integration features, but Data Service provides better connectivity to third party data sources.  The data quality features of Data Services are not available in BI.

  • Data Integrator and Data Services

What is the recommendations in Installing DQ with DI on the same box?
The documentation does not have a checklist on installing DQ and DI anywhere.
1.) Can DI and Data Services run on the same server? If they can run on the same server whatu2019s the specs of the server?
2.) Can Data Services take advantage of more then 4 gigs of memory?

    Hi there,
There used to be Data Integrator and Data Quality.
However it has merged together under one platform, Data Services.
That means Data Services includes Data Integration and Data Quality together as one product.
So Data Integrator would still be around but it will fall under Data Services.

  • Data Integrator and BMC Control-M scheduler

    Hi,
anyone have experience, indications or suggestions on if and how the Data Integrator jobs can be scheduled from Control-M scheduler using the SNMP protocol adapter?
    Thanks,
    Renato

I dont think you require ECC system upgrade only for Control M. This product is even compatible with R/3 versions.
As per suggestion from Joe, please raise a call with BMC support team to check software version and SAP compatibiliy.

  • Oracle Data Integrator and API

    Hi everybody,
I have to load datas from heterogeneous sources, including some datas which can be retrieved only by calling some API, or which must be parsed before.
I would like to know if ODI is able to call APIs ? and how ?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

    Hi everybody,
I can't find any sample which shows the different steps to integrate some third party sources.
I have to integrate Reuters and Bloomberg data sources (and other data sources), and I'd like to write wrappers to retrieve datas from these databases. These wrappers will be called by ODI like any data source. How can I do that ?
If someone has any other idea, please let me know.
    Thx in advance.

  • BI to BPC 7.0 MS version data integration and  direct connectivity?

    Dear  All,
I need some valubale and proper information  about the BI to  BPC 7.0 (Microsoft)integration?
As i have already gone through forum threads and read blogs stil i dint found any solution to our requrirement.
Is it possible to have a direct data transfer between BI to BPC 7.0(MS version)? I understand that data can be extracted from BI cubes into files and then uplod into BPC. Is there any other ways to bring data directly from BI into BPC 7.0?
Any connectors or plugins has been release in the market so far?
As per our understanding right now in the market for BPC 7.0(NW Version) everything is available but for BPC 7.0 microsoft version if any body as implemented  or having any docs or related to that will be great helpful if you can share the same to me.?
IF its not aviailable in the market what could be alternative option to go ahead with the same version?
    Thanks a ton in advance.
    RK.

    Rakesh,
There is nothing delivered within the products that seemlessly integrates data from BI to BPC (MS ver).  Besides the aforementioned good ideas about using open hub there are several 3rd Party companies that have an offering that will integrate data from SSIS packages on MS SQL Server from BI.  Just search the internet  (Xtract IS, iNet-BI, . . .).  They all range in price and functionality.
    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Kevin

  • Data Integrator Questions

    Hello,
I was hoping for some guidence on how i can access sap data without using a BW system. The Data Integrator and RapidMarts seemed to be the main option. Just wondered if this was a suitable appraoch for my scenario.
Im the UK, our clients sap infrastructure is based in Germany. We do all our development on that system and it holds all our custom tables which i need to report from.
I initially installed the SAP Integration Tools for Crystal. I can build a report and dircetly see Tables and Function Modules, but the speed is really bad and prone to crashing.
My new plan is to install Data Integrator on our Network. Then use that to pull all the tables and data we need into a RapidMart on our network. Then i can use our BO XI 3.1 edge installation to host all the reports / dashboards built off the mart.
Is this a reasonable approach, am i missing anything or is this all theoretically possible??
    Any advice is great appreciated.
    Carston.

    One at the time....
A RapidMart is nothing else than a jump-start. Imagine this: I have been asked to build a Data Warehouse for Cost Center Accounting. So I have asked:
"What kind of reports?" "Costs per CostCenter, CostElement, Period".
"Where does the data come from?" "This and that SAP table"
"How can I implement the delta logic" "Using this approach...."
"Are you fine with this Data Model to support your reports?"
"Are you okay with the Naming Conventions I invented?"
At the end I had a very good working Data Warehouse project for my customer. Then I got another Customer engagement where I again had to build a Cost Center Accounting Data Warehouse. Same questions, very similar answers. But instead of developing the data model, the ETL flow,.... all from scratch, I would have reused the previous code.
In other words, a Rapid Mart is us running through a very professional Data Warehouse project with a couple of customers simultaniously and then we provide the code to you. So you are trading investment costs against Consulting costs and time and uncertainty. You might not like the Data Model, feel free to modify it. You need more, its just a first version of your Data Warehouse. You can't use 90% of wha we did - don't by the RapidMart but take your time to implement the Data Warehouse yourself.

  • Is there a Business Objects Data Integrator API / SDK to "execute" DI jobs?

    Hello,
I am searching for a Business Objects Data Integrator API / SDK that can be used to remotely execute BOBJ DI jobs (like in scheduling BOBJ XI docs).
I found AdapterSDK from BOBJ DI but this is used to create adapters usable with DI (for various sources and targets). I am interested only in executing an already created job...
    Thank you in advance,
    Adrian Mitrica

You'll probably be better off posting here:

I'm just going by the description of the forum but that looks better than this one(?):
This forum is dedicated to topics related to Data Integration (Data Integrator, Data Federator, Text Analysis for Data Integrator, Rapid Marts, and Integration for PeopleSoft Enterprise), Data Quality (Data Quality and Data Insight), and Metadata Management.
I'd move your thread but I do not have the rights to do this move...

  • Data Integrator has no read permissions to get the data file using FTP

    Hi,
I wonder if you could help.
We have installed the data integrator and are using FTP to get the data file from the SAP server to the DI server. The files are created by the SAP admin user with permissions 660. The FTP user is not in the sapsys group so cannot read the files.
Has anyone come accross this problem and how did you solve it?
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
you might want to put you entry into the EIM forum where also the Data Integrator topics are being handled:

  • Data Integrity Manager & Synchronize Objects

    Hi there,
I have 2 questions regading data integrity and synchronization. If any of you can help me out, I would really appreciate it.
    1) Synchronize Objects (R3AS4): Is this only used to sync the customizing objects or can it be used to sync master data objects as well? When I run this transaction, I get the message tat "Synchronization Ware not activated". Do any of you know how to activate this?
    2) Data Integrity Manager: How do I choose betweeen a header level comparison and detail comparison. When I try to run it , nothing seems to happen, and I just get the message "0 objects are equal" and "0 objects are not equal" when I run it. I am just using the DIMA wizard to start the comparison. Do any of you have the "Data Integrity Manager Cookbook"? If so, can you please send ot to me?
    Thanks in advance
    Max

    Hello Max,
Here are the steps that I just did in my system:
    - transaction SDIMA
    - New DIMa Instance wizard
    - name = customer / object = customer
    - RFC destination = <R/3> / filter mode = All filter / flag to start compare on wizard completion
    - no filter settings
    - complete
So the compare start as soon as the wizard is finished.
You can see the status of the job in the right of the screen. (it takes some time for BP). When the status is green, the job is finished.
Maybe you will have the message "0 objects are equal, 0 objects are not equal" but you should also have just above a message like "421 object(s) exist in both systems".
I don't think that the fact that you are not sending BP back to R/3 is a problem to use DIMA.
    Hope this will help you.
    Regards,
    Frédéric

  • What is hyperion data integration management(DIM)

    hi
i listem that there is some integration between hyperion and informatica called DIM(data integration management).
i want to know more details on that.does any one have pdf or ppts regarding that.
please forward that to [email protected]
otherwise tell me what do u know about DIM.where can we use that

You can find some documentation here.
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/nav/portal_6.htm
DIM is basically Informatica repackaged under the Hyperion label. They were not secretive about this, when the deal was made, before Oracle purchased Hyperion, Hyperion and Informatica entered into an agreement to resell Informatica as part of System 9. It was introduced to replace HAL.
Now, I haven't heard anything solid on this, but I've noticed since the Oracle acquisition, you really haven't heard anything about DIM. Oracle has a competing product called Oracle Data Integrator, and I've noticed lately that in the literature, they are positioning it as the integration tool, with no mention of DIM.
Since Oracle Data Integrator does the exact same thing as Informatica, I do not envision DIM being around for very long. I suspect within another release or two it will be replaced with Oracle Data Integrator.
    Just a hunch.

  • CTS and Data Integrator

I want to be able to use CTS, perhaps in conjunction with ChaRM on Solution Manager or CTS+, for version/change control of Data Integrator objects that are using Rapid Marts as targers (as opposed to SAP BI targets). Has SAP enabled this capability yet, and if so, can someone point me in the direction of documentation on this? If not, does anyone have any inside scoop on when it might become available?

I'm trying to remove the manual movement of code from the development repository to the QA repository and then another manual intervention to move from the QA repository to the production repository. Furthermore, I want to be able to use tools that we already have on hand and not have to introduce another application (tool) to perform this. Since we're primarily an SAP shop, and therefore have Solution Manager and other applications including SAP BW (really dislike that it was changed back to SAP BW from SAP BI recently), and since SAP now owns Business Objects, I was hopeful that DI has already been integrated with the SAP CTS framework. Is this something that's part of the 2010 changes where SAP BW and Business Objects are morphed more into an integrated set of tools?
