Why causes this data integrator desisgner login problem ? "LOGON EXCEPTION BODI-1112170: Cannot connect to repository. Please correct and retry."
What is the possible solution for this error.

There seems to be something wrong with the connection to your repository.
To test the connectivity you can use the Repository Manager (installed on the same machine as your DI Designer), fill in the repository connection parameters and click 'Get Version'. This will check the connectivity and show you the version of your repository.
Possible causes for this error :
Database middleware not installed on the machine (which database type are you connecting too) ?
Database middleware not configured to connect to your repo (e.g. for Oracle the instance must be defined in tnsnames.ora)

Performance degradation in Data Integrator Designer with Multi-user mode

We are developing an information system based on a DataMart populated with data using ETL processes built with Data Integrator. We are three people developing and when we work at the same time we begin to have problem of performance with Designer. Designer seems freeze sometimes and development process becomes painful.
Where is the problem? accessing repository? Is any known bug?
Job Server? but it happens even when we don't launch any job. Only building ETL processes manipulating objects (Dataflows, workflows,...etc).
We would appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean with 'working at the same time' ? You need 3 different repositories if you want to work with 3 developers, so there should be no impact at all when working simultaniously...

Can someone tell me how I go about downloading Data Integrator 11.7 Designer? I have the jobserver download but need to update designer according to the jobserver instructions.

Hi Ian,
DI 11.7.x does not support Vista, nor does it support 64-bit Windows. A forthcoming major release of Data Services 12.x is tentatively scheduled to support these sometime in 2009...I apologize that I cannot be more specific, as we do not as a company comment on future features or release dates.

Designer Login Issue

I am unable to login into Designer as it gives the error:
Connection to the Repository; denied
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist.
Strangely, I am able to Test the connection of my Work Repository and its showing a success.
Appreciate any inputs regarding that...

If you are invoking Designer from command prompt with '-CONSOLE' , does it gives some more information ?

Errror while trying DataStore Data Integrator Business Objects

I have a Business Objects Data Integrator XI Release 2 installed on my machine... I´m new to this platform, but I think I have everything
fully installed except the Job Server and SNMP Server, because the license that I have it doesn´t allow to install these services.
I have a repository created in SQL Server 2008, against which the Data Integrator Designer is connected correctly, where I can create projects,
jobs, workflows and even jobflows ...
But when trying to create a DataStore to data sources or destinations, will not let me. I right click on the repository,
DataStore> New, and I get the window that should go to enter data datastore name and type, databases, flat files, ... I get no
any error or warning window just does nothing ...

I was visiting the SAP Community Network page and I found a demo transform, .afl, to import a sample project to the repository, and I created
the datastore instance successfully, DS_training. For this datastore allows me all options, but when I right-click on it, except for

I don´t know what is the problem, if someone could help me because I'm looking for several days and I'm going crazy!

La verdad es que la cosa es rarisima, con los datastores creados del ejemplo, no me deja editarlos y tampoco crear unos nuevos...
El error es el mismo, tanto como si quiero crear uno nuevo como si quiero editar los de ejemplo, no aparece nada... ni ventana de error ni ventana para editar/crear...

Defunct objects in Data Integrator

Hi,
I am getting an error in Data Integrator Designer that says that objects are DEFUNCT, this can be for example Data flow in a Job or a target table in a data flow
u201C[Data Flow:DSA_Zastaeda_Delta] BODI-1111034: The object <DELTA_ZASTAEDA_MV(EDW_STAGING_DEV.EDW_STAGING_DEV)> is defunct in <DSA_Zastaeda_Delta>.u201D
I am still able to execute those Data flows but unable to modify the target options, if I add the same target again in the data flow I am able to work with the target table, but then when I validate and safe the target as become defunct. Can anyone tell me the reason for this error?

p.s. using version 11.7

The only automatic mapping algorithm is the name comparison. No other mechanisms exist, nor can they be plugged in (in the current 10.1.3.5 version of the product).

After that I can't view anything any job name.......

Hi,
For the profiler problem : you need to add the profiler repository to the web admin too (you can do this in the tree Management/Repositories). Next you need a webadmin user that is linked to this repo, you could use the admin user for that, just check in Management/Users that for this user the profiler repo is attached.
Once this is set up in the management console, from within the designer, you can connect to the Profiling services using the web administrator's server name and port (e.g. localhost:28080) and the web admin user and password (e.g. admin/admin).
For your second problem : please check the connection to the repo (I assume you added the direpo already to the web admin) . Again in the tree Management/Repositories go to the local repository connection you created and check the connection (there is a test button). If the connection is correct, you will see the job history (empty if there are no job executions), in the configuration page you will see a list of all jobs and can execute or schedule a job.

DI Integrator XI and Data Service Designer

I am playing with DI XI (11.7) now, but very soon we would have Data Service Designer (new version of DI which is called Data Service Designer). I'm just wondering what the difference is between DI Integrator 11.7 and Data Service Designer. The interface and object types are very different and a big surprise for me? Or I might ask what's new in Data Service Designer?

You will be very familiar with DataServices Designer. You will find more transforms - the data quality transforms - and a few menu items, flags etc. But really, DataServices is just a name change. For DQ customers things changed a lot.

Data Services Designer Issue with Job Server

I am on Business Objects Edge Pro using the Data Services Designer. When I try execute a job I get "The job server you have selected is not working." In addition to that when I try to make any personal change to the environment I get a BODI-1260016 error. Finally when you go to the help and about they show both the Job Engine and Job Server not responding.
I have opened up my CMC and it shows all servers enabled and functioning. I do not know where to go from here.

Voila. I know I am a bit late to the conversation, but here was my solution. I was running Designer on my local machine. We also have Designer on the server. So I decided to remote to the server and compare settings. When the server desktop came up, good old Windows was there, announcing that BODS had changed since the last time it was run, and would I like to allow it to run (Y/N/Cancel)? Thanks, Windows. I said Yes, then went back to my local workstation, tried again to run a job, and no problem.
This has happened with other software services (scripted ftp for example) that run on servers. Seems it can happen after a Microsoft Tuesday, or after software is upgraded. Always remember to log on to the server and clear any security dialogs that are preventing your service from running. Not really a BO solution, but it was my solution. YMMV.

BOXI DS Designer - Drag-n-Drop Data Integrator - Date_Generation fails

Hi All,
New to this product, so may have installed this incorrectly on my local PC.
Pc Config, Windows XP, MySQL, Boxi Data Services 3.2 all components, Data Cleansing Package 3.1.
When running through the tutorial I am unable to drag-and-drop the Date_Generation component of the Data Integrator to the Data Flow.
Any Ideas?

I guess it has to do with java installation which comes with ODI.
I have already installed JDK and JRE 1.5 in C:\Java.

Hi Abhishek,
I think it's linked to your OS, ODI is not ceritified on Windows 7.
You should try a manual installation without the Oracle Installer, you can refer to the documentation for this (Manual Installation of Oracle Data Integrator).
A manual installation should work if you have a JVM installed in your environment.

Login issue in OIM11g due to oim credsmap error

We have OIM 11gR2PS1 installed on unix box. We have AD connector 11.1.1.5.0 installed on it .Also,peoplesoft recon connector PSFT_ER-11.1.1.5.0 is installed
In our scenario,we have webservice code in which using recon event we are creating users in OIM environment
This is hosted on same OIM server unix box.Inside webservice code we have refred oimclient.jar file to work with OIM APIs and Recon Service class.
When i tested webservice for first time it was unable to load OIM API classes as it was unable to find oimclient.jar in classpath.
So to resolve this issue i kept oimclient.jar in location- "WL_HOME/server/lib/" and also added following entry in setDomainEnv.sh to load oimclient.jar explicitly in classpath

and made entry in system-jazn-data.xml present in DOMAIN_HOME//config/fmwconfig/ as :

So,to resolve this AD schedule task issue,we rolled back changes made for webservice in setDomainEnv.sh and system-jazn-data.xml file
and removed explicit classpath entry line of oimclient.jar from setDomainEnv.sh
But after restrating all admin and managed servers,we are currently facing issue in logging into OIM idenity/syadmin or design console with xelsyadm credentials
we have never made any changes of password for xelsyadm account or not made any change in any authenticatorproviders in weblogic console
we tried everything form reverting all changes to original setup without webservice or peoplesoft listener implementation
removed all explicit classpath entries or grant entry for oim credsmap from system-jazn-data.xml.
But still same issue persists
Any helpful suggestion is appreciated on this ASAP.

Hi All,
I have tried out option of adding authwl.conf in java argument as mentioned. But,still same issue persists. I think it will be same whether we refer authwl.conf file from OIM_ORACLE_HOME/server/config or OIM_ORACLE_HOME/designconsole/config/ location.
We havent made any changes in USR table for xelsysadm user
Even system-jazn-data.xml is intact.
Actually,when i removed following classpath entry from setDomainEnv.sh file
CLASSPATH="WL_HOME/server/lib/oimclient.jar:${CLASSPATH}"
export CLASSPATH
Its working fine and i am not facing any login issue in OIM console.Also the Active Directory connector scheduled task are running fine without giving earlier error whic is becaus of explicit classpath addition in setDomainEnv.sh.This error was
java.lang.LinkageError: loader constraint violation: loader (instance of com/thortech/xl/dataobj/tcADPClassLoader) previously initiated loading for a different type with name "com/thortech/xl/dataaccess/tcDataProvider" .
This error was arising since i have explicitly mentioned oimclient.jar again in classpath and as OIM server also will load it at OIM server startup time. So it was finding two instance of tcDataProvider and was not able to decide to refer to which one of them.
But, I have to refer oimclient.jar in my webservice code to work.If we dont add classpath entry explicitly for oimclient.jar then it will throw error..that it is unable to load OIMClient class.
Webservice is deployed in OIM serveer . Is there any other way by which i can refer oimclient class in webservice code without causing this classpath conflict issue. ?
Also.is it correctthat for first time when we load Classpath explicitly like i did in my scenario,then it will always try to refer same classpath for that jar always.
For ex: in my env i made changes in setDomainEnv.sh and modifed classpath enrty as :

but this time it will start throwin the exception as :
