Data logger and online processing application

Dear All
My application should include both data logging and online processing threads which are synchronized. I already implemented that by means of something we call "Ring buffer" which is an array containing the data and when the data stream reach its end it start over again from first index. It works almost well but sometimes it seems that my "timed loop" which is my processing thread is a little bit ahead of my data logger thread and it makes some distortion on data stream in processing thread but of course not in data logger.
Since this type of application is very classic, we should have a kind of general prototype (example) for its implementation which provides fully synchronization between processing and logger threads so I was wondering if somebody knows where I should look into?

The latter comes with an example.

I just installed Win7 Pro x86 on my Z600 workstation. It was an upgrade from WinXP Pro. In Device Manager I am missing the driver for the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller and Hardlock USB 1.02. Can someone assist me in finding these drivers. I've installed win 8.1x64 on my HP Probook 450 G2 but I am missing the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller driver.

hi everyone,
find original w8 cd and then i installed, when i was installing
i deleted all recovery and other partition, i did not think what can i do,
but then i activated windows and installed all driver, but i taking
after all drivers it stayed
2''unknown devices''
and when i rebooted, it says, usb device not recognized'' and also
''pci data acquisition and signal processing center'' devices problem for windows 8. and touchscreen not working.
i read related for w7 same problem, but what i will do now ?

By opening your Device Manager right click on one unknown device and choose properties,
>On the properties windows Click on the Details Tab, on the property drop down Choose hadware IDs
> then copy the value and post back here whats on the Value pane
Do it for all those unknown Device and Post here the Value of the hardware ids
also can you share your Windows Version and bit type so we'll knwo the correct download page for you

E5-571 PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller & SM Bus Controller

I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. Windows Update says that it is up-to-date. Windows Devices Manager shows a problem with two devices: PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing ControllerSM Bus Controller What are these devices and where do I locate the drivers for them?

That should do it. I've been pleasantly surprised by how well older drivers are working in Windows 10. I had to install Vista 64bit drivers for an ATI video card (the latest working drivers for the card) and they actually worked!

Hi: Try the chipset driver directly from Intel...the second file is the auto install file. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility- If that driver does not install the PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller, which the chipset driver should install, download the first file listed above (zip file). Unzip and extract the contents to its folder. Go to the device manager and click on the above device needing the driver. Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver. Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the unzipped driver folder. Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and see if the driver installs that way. Then reboot.

Lenovo 14 20DM correct driver for 'Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller'

Hi Everyone, I am the happy owner of a new Yoga 14 20DM. A few days ago I made the decision to upgrade to Windows 10. Whilst the upgrade went smoothly I did have to install a number of drivers manually. At the moment I am stuck on trying to install the 'PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller' (as shown below). I have tried right clicking on the device then selecting Properties > Driver (tab) > Update Driver > Search automatically for updated driver software, however doing so only shows the screen capture below! Furthermore I have searched the Lenovo support page for a suitable driver however none is available! http://support.lenovo.com/au/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-yoga-14/20dm?TabName Finally I have also installed, and run, 'System Update 5' the software program available from Lenovo. However it was not able to install a correct driver for this device. Hi Ingemann, Ultimately I decided on the newest version of the Intel Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility), which at this time (on the Intel website) is version 10.0.27. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/20775/Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-INF-Update-Utility- Interestingly enough I was presented with the message below when I ran this executable. I selected Downgrade (with some trepidation), and after rebooting was pleasantly surprised to see that the troubled device was missing from the list. How to catch date errors and continue processing in a PL/SQL procedure

I'm updating a date field with dates constructed from day, month and year fields. The incoming data has many instances of day and month that are not valid dates, ex 11 31 2007. There is no 31st day in November.
I would like to write a pl/sql script to scan the table containing these values and log the rows that produce conversion errors.
I thought I could do this with exceptions but there are no exceptions that correspond to the ORA-01847 error for mismatched day and month.
Here is what I tried (the print procedure is a local wrapper for DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line):

There are lots of different error messages associated with bad dates. Rather than try to catch them all, I use a BEGIN ... EXCEPTION block that contains nothing but a TO_DATE call. This is one of the rare occassions when I think "EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS" is okay,

Multiple use remote panels license (5) does not allow multiple access to cfp 2120 realtime embedded datalogger (all pc's on the same subnet). Log On Startup
Start logging when the controller powers up.
Start Log Time
The time to start logging.
Stop Log Time
The time to stop logging.
Note: Make sure the clock is set correctly on the controller. The settings described above refer to the cFP controller clock.
Log Rate
The number of milliseconds to wait between each acquisition.
FP Drive For Data Files
The drive to store the log files in. The C: drive is the default for all cFP controllers. If you want to save to the removable CompactFlash drive on the cFP controller, select the D: drive.
Digital "Pause" Line
The Digital Input item to use as a "pause" button for data logging. Logging pauses when the signal is high. When the signal goes low again, a new file is created and logging continues if appropriate.
Note: Use only Digital Input items for the Digital "Pause" Line.
Tip: You can use DIP Switch 3 to block the current data from being logged. This switch works the same way as the Digital "Pause" line.
Logging Session Tag
Is stamped on the spreadsheet that the data logger creates.

i am working on creating a GUI.vi to read data from the datalogger and the same should be used to set the date ,time,etc.i am thinking of using VISA to read data through serial port(COM1),that interface is available.but when i tried to read data from the logger i am getting timeout error.what should i do ?i am using the example given with labview 7.0 .can any one suggest me what all things i need to do if i want to read datalogger to a file.Is there any one who workrd on this.please reply me as early as possible,

The LabVIEW <-> Serial.vi is a good example that allows for writing commands to an instrument and reading back from it using a VISA Session. One of the inputs on this VI is the Resource Name. You need to ensure that the name of your serial port is in this drop down menu, so that the program is sending and receiving data from the correct place.
The VI is setup so that you can send a command to the external device, and then receive data back. I am not sure about the Spectrum 4000, but most devices have commands that they receive to tell the device which data to send back over the serial port. The VI has a default string to write of *IDN?, which is a common command that tells the instrument to return an ident
ity string. The fact that the program is timing out for you indicates that the program never received any data from the device. Either the device is not configured to automatically send data, or the correct command is not being sent to the device. Your datalogger manual may be able to help you determine what serial commands it needs to receive to send the data out you expect.

We currently do all our processes including payments through the SQL query option in CCA, we'd like to use a web service instead and are new to doing the call this way, can someone please provide some input as to what is required to access our data from CCA via web server?

Hi, Peter, this could be an issue with proxy server setting. Are you behind a firewall when you test this?
iOS simulator would use Mac's proxy setting. Android Emulator has its own proxy setup - it's a bit complicated to get to and varies based on the Android emulator you are using. For 4.1 emulator (you should always use 4.x or above emulators), you would need to go into the emulator itself, and go to settings - Wireless & Networks - click More... - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names. You should see an Access point used by the emulator to simulate network connection. Mine says "T-Mobile US". You click on it, and then you can select the proxy attribute and set it according to your office's settings.

In response to question 1:
You can designate only 1 LDB on the Attribute screen of the program. You can however, also invoke a LDB program using Function Module LDB_PROCESS. There is some good documentation associated with it.
In response to question 2:
If you specify a LDB on your program attributes, the LDB will present a selection screen. Any parameters/select options that you specify in your program are added to the selection screen that the LDB presents. If you use the Function Module mentioned above, then you alone will control the selection screen and have to pass selection information to the function module.
In response to question 3:
I am not quite sure what you mean by this one, but if some of the other SDNers have answered your question, then no need to clarify for me.

what OS are you using? is this under a clean installation of windows or a factory installation from lenovo? what device is missing a driver? what lead you to think you needed the above driver?
