I finally figured this out. The # is now used to mark columns that will auto-generate QR codes. But just removing the # doesn't fix the problem either. InDesign can remember that it existed there at one point. You have to completely delete that entire row in your spreadsheet and remake it.
Why they choose the number symbol as the symbol to wreck havoc in a data merge when a great deal of time columns in a merge are labeled as #1, #2, #3... is beyond me. So many of the world's data merge files have to be remade now. Apparently they couldn't afford the license for a ~ or something not related to numbered lists.

The apps would yes but it depends on your investment if they are premium paid apps are you prepared to loose your investment (this is lessend if you own an ipad though)
There are so many ways to sync an android to your pc/mac i can only discuss galaxy range as thats what i own, apps like airdroid do wireless, samsung kies is also a wifi app so no need for cables since ics mtp has been set as main usb protocol as opposed to usb mass storage which is easier. At first my mac would not see the phone but a couple of clicks later and it works, drag and drop.
As for syncing data itself on a samsung you get two options which you can set up:
Google account, this syncs and backsup contacts, settings and apps, so if you reninstall or rest the phone then it will auto install your apps. google sync also auto updates your calender and if you use chrome on the pc, then your bookmarks are automatically avaliable on your phone, in fact it also syncs your current tab so if you leave your pc and want to carry on reading a webpage, that current page is already avaliable on your phone
Then for samsung you get scloud - this backups up sms mms settings contacts and more.
However as i mentioned before if you have heavily invested in apps tv films etc, then your best staying with apple, if your prepared to start again then yes android is an option.
One thing i dont see being mentiones regarding the maps issue is that while the data can be made more accurate the actual sat view cannot unless apple repurchase maps from someone like google (wont do) or Microsoft whose map views are superior. Hopefully apple will listen to its users and permit the google maps app (if there is one) through promptly
Again for the record i own a mac and had 2 ipads, no tablet comes close to the ipad so my advice is just for ref and not to say ones better than the other

If you have a rescue email address set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.

Data merge - can you insert multiple fields at once?

I'm using InDesign CS4.
I'm automating a series of reports using Data Merge from a CSV file. Each row in the CSV file holds the data for each individual report - 135 reports in total.
The thing is, each report contains a text comments from some research interviews - but some reports have maybe 10 or so comments, others have over 600! The fields are called comment001, comment002 ... right up to comment620 (or so).
InDesign only seems to let me insert fields from the Data Merge one at a time - it won't let me Shift-select a range of fields ... the alternative is to manually insert about 620 fields one click at a time!! Ouch...
Does anyone know of a way around this?
(Hope I've explained the problem properly!)

We see a few Adobe employees from time to time, notably Dov Isaacs and occasionally Matthew Laun (from the InDesign development team), but they are here on their own time and in an unofficial capacity, though they are extremely helpful when they do drop in. Employees are encouraged, at least on the ID team, to monitor the forums, but not necessarily to participate, so they probably do see most of the reported problems, but their jobs are to do development, not provide tech support, and I for one would rather they spend their time fixing bugs and developing new features than have them actively engaging in these threads.
And rest assured that Adobe appreciates the work that the user community is doing here. It's no secret that we are far better than the free telephone tech support, largely becasue we work with the programs every day while the suppot contractor only has relatively untrained folks reading from the knowledebase unless you can get escalated very high up the chain.
As for the feature request, by all means file it. I think you are correct that it would be nice, though I can see some issues, too, like how do you decide how multiple fields will be strung together (one after another would be the same as your concatenation problem and using separate lines might not be approprtiate in all cases, either). I am trying to use I tunes on my I phone for the first time. I usually use my iiPod. When I sign in it ask for my password which is no prob then it asks me to answer my security questions. I made the account about 3 years ago and i don't remember the aswers to the security questions. I've seen numerous questions similar to mine and they say just go to appleid.apple.com and manage account, password and security and then there is a button to reset the security questions. I do not have this. I can't buy anything after putting 15 bucks onto the account because i need to answer the security questions. I can't reset the security questions because i need to know the answers in order to do anything. I tried calling and apple says to use expresslane, and i've tried, 3 times, and nothing has come to it. I emailed itunes and I have recieved nothing from them. Is there any way to reset the security questions so i can actually buy music with MY money?

I guess I know the answer, but here's hoping.......

I have three machines all connected to the same .Mac/IMAP account.
I lent one to my son. He accessed Mail and not wishing to be presented with my emails deleted them all. Being nothing if not thorough he then emptied the Trash folder too.
Of course that machine then Synchnorised with the .Mac server and deleted the mail there which as a consequence deleted mail on all other machines too.
This is of course a real dissappointment especially as we had the preference "Keep copies of messages..." set to "All messages and their attachments".
So the question is - even though Mail keeps local copies of messages, they're deleted from the server the local copies are deleted as well (without using the local trash?) and there's no possible way back?
I guess the only solution is to use Backup daily to store the local copies and recover form there if one's kith-and-kin become over-enthusiastic with the cleaning-up thing?

Sorry to be confusing.
Within the structure of our current machine we have ~/library/mail
Inside mail we have one folder per account in mail.
Inside the folder for the .Mac/IMAP account are folders with an extension .imapmbox(for example "INBOX.imapmbox"). Within this folder are the *.emlx files.
Inside the folders for the POP accounts are folders with the extension .mbox (for example "INBOX.mbox"). Within this folder are the *.emlx files.
What I was trying to suggest was our belief that, when one of the machines connected the .Mac account deleted .Mac mails it in effect deleted the *.emlx files in the .imapmbox folder for that .Mac account. However as there never was a POP account on this machine the presence of so many, very large, .mbox files gives us reason to hope.

Here is some additional information about recovering EMLX files:
Starting with Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4), Apple Mail stores messages in .emlx files, one message per file.
Data Rescue II (when the EMLX feature is enabled) can recover these .emlx files with a thorough or
deleted file scan. It takes a bit of finagling to get the recovered files back into Apple Mail, and this
note documents a way to do that.
Assume the files had been accidentally deleted, and you do a Deleted File scan on your volume to
find them. Following the scan, the .emlx files found will be under folders in CBR/Mail/AppleMail,
AppleMail1, AppleMail2, etc. Recover all these AppleMail folders to a safe place on a different
volume than you found them on. (The reason for this is that until you have recovered all the files
you want, they are still vulnerable to being overwritten if you write to the scan volume. Once you've
recovered everything you're interested in recovering from the scanned volume, this is no longer an
issue.)
Start Apple Mail if it's not already started, and create a new Mailbox. Call it Recovered, for example.
It should show up as an empty mailbox on the left side of the window, along with the other
mailboxes. Once that appears, quit Apple Mail.
In one Finder window, navigate to your home folder, then down into Library/Mail/Mailboxes and then
on into the new mailbox you created, Recovered. In Recovered, create a new folder named
Messages, and select that.
In another Finder window, navigate to the place where you recovered your AppleMail folder(s).
Repeat the following for each AppleMail folder: navigate into the folder and select all the messages
there. Drag them to the Messages folder in the other Finder window. If you have thousands of
messages, be patient; the Finder will be slow.
Once you have copied all the emlx files to the Messages folder you created, restart Apple Mail and
select the Recovered mailbox, then go to the Mailboxes menu and select Rebuild. After a little while,
the Recovered mailbox will be rebuilt and you should see all your messages in the message list.
Once you have your recovered messages present, you can then reorganize them. For example, say
you want to separate out messages that you sent from the others. Make sure you have the
Recovered mailbox selected. Type your email in Mail's Search window, then make sure the search
column has "Recovered" (instead of All Mailboxes) selected, and select the From column (instead of
Entire Message or To or Subject). Now all the messages sent by you in the Recovered mailbox should
be visible. Select them all and drag them into a different folder, wherever you want them to be. In
my case, I chose to create a Sent mailbox as a sub-mailbox of the Recovered mailbox, and put them
in there. Probably dragging them to my normal Sent folder would have worked also.
Launch the Data Rescue II application. When the loading is completed, hold the control key then click
on the Data Rescue II logo on the bottom left corner of the main Data Rescue II window. Go to the
menubar and select Expert->Special Features. Please forward to us the information provided on that
window. The serial, version, and most importantly the Challenge code. After we receive that, we will
send you a feature key that you will enter on the Feature Key field. The Install button should be
enabled for you to click. You can now run the scan.

Just installed PC version of The Sims 2 on my 2.0GHz, 2GbRAM, 1st generation Core Duo Macbook - WindowsXP under bootcamp.
Many people were wondering how well it plays on Macbooks with the integrated GMA950 video card. The answer is: Very very well!!
I've just spent 1 hour playing and can tell you that the graphics are amazing - not choppy at all - very smooth play indeed. I guess the fact that I got 2Gb of RAM helps. The video card in Macbooks is actually a pretty decent one.
So for those of you wondering how it plays - your answer's here. If you've been waiting to buy the game and wasn't sure if your notebook can handle it - GO FOR IT. You won't be dissapointed

Hi again all,
I am using CS4, and I have made my circle. Still haven't completely figued out the eyedropper thing, but I worked around.
Now I want to type around the circle, but when I click in the shape, it just makes a big text box the size of the circle. I still can't seem to get the text to go around my circle.
I must be missing something...Any suggestions?

You hover your type tool icon over the path you made with the ellipse tool. Click when the type tool icon changes into an i with a wavy slash. See below.
