Data merge with football tickets. Printing causes out of memory errors. Can only print 10 at a time!

Here's the deal. Printing football tickets for the local high school. 10 tickets per 8.5 x 11 sheet. All black and white. I couldn't data merge into one whole document of tickets because it was failing to do that. So, I end up with 3 documents. First two have 50 pages of tickets and the last has 37 pages.
When I go to print, I can only print 10 pages at a time or InDesign straight up crashes or I get an "Out of Memory" error which is bull because I've got plenty of ram available (unless it's complaining about lack of HD space for some reason)
Incredibly frustrating.
Each ticket has 3 images on it. Two of the images are the same. Those two images are about 103kb .ai files. Very very simple. The other image is a TIFF that is about 76kb. So there are 1000 .ai files / document and 500 TIFFs.

Also, when printing, I have the Send Data set to Optimized Subsampling instead of "All". That's not seeming to help.

I just ran a sample on my laptop.
AI file, duplicated, is 284k. Image is roughly 200k. The CSV has 2054 records, and the merged document with 10 per page is 250 megabytes. PDF is just under 50 megs.
This laptop has only 4 gigs memory but has a lot of free disk space. It took a good amount of time to do the merge, a bit longer to create the PDF-X1a PDF.

Loading JPEG/Gif images causes Out Of Memory Error

Hello Java gurus, please shed some light on this.....
I am not a java newbie, but I am a java newbie in the area of dealing with graphics. I am using JDK 1.4.2_01 on Win XP with 2.4ghz and 512 RAM. When I try to read in a (or a few) JPEG image into a JLabel using ImageIcon, I get an out of memory error everytime. This happens whether I am reading the image out of a jar file or out of a local directory. The JPEG's are 8.5" x 11", and range between 150kb to 900kb. I am trying to load approximately 10 images in a JTabbedPane using new JLabel(ImageIcon) on individual JPanels (one JPanel for each JPEG). Now I get the java.lang.outofmemory error whether I try to load 1 image or 10 images. Anyone got a clue as to what I am doing wrong? I actually do get one image loaded before the error gets thrown. So I do know that it is trying to load the right image. What is going on here? Is it an ImageIcon problem, or are there others who have run into this. It has brought this project to a grinding halt, and I had thought this would be the easier part!!!! Please help me out gurus! Thanks!

What options/values are you suggesting that I set? Or do you mean something else? Thank you for any ideas that can help me solve this problem. I never had any issues dealing with using ImageIcon for toolbar button graphics (file sizes of 1-3kb), but now with dealing with full page graphics I have run into a brick wall with this out of memory error.

Printer "Out of Memory". Can not print spreadsheets

Up to the last few months I had no problem printing everything including spreadsheets. Now I get the following when I bring up a Microsoft spreadsheet and try to print it "Out of Memory" "Save or close any open files or applications" I can print all other files including pictures, Word test, emails, etc.
Bult I have no open files or applications.
Printer: HP Photosmart C4780, Windows XP, Compaq/HP computer.
No changes to my software recently except adding RosettaStone language CDs.

I'm not printing spreadsheets -I'm trying to print Quark or AdobePDF files on a Business Inkjet 2800dtn (large tabloid size) - I've had trouble w/this printer before but not this "OUT OF MEMORY" problem.
I can print Notepad files...but it will not print other files that it printed fine before. I even got one PDF out of this machine yesterday before it went bonkers. It keeps saying "file won't print" & then "Printer error- turn off power then on" = I must have done it 100 times. No luck at all.
I KNOW there is a way to use "computer memory" to increase the capacity of this machine without buying additional printer memory, but I'm not sure how to do it. Does anyone know? Will anyone tell? Obviously, mine was working BEFORE. Another message came up in the Configuration page that I WAS able to print, saying it had a "Firmware error" - HP hasn't updated this firmware as far as I can see, since 2005. They haven't updated ANYTHING on this POS machine, to be blunt about it.
(inHP's favor, I love,love, love my 2340duplex Laserjet - it's a wonderous miracle for me).
Anyone know how to connect the computer memory to the printer - or anything about Firmware Updates (or should I reinstall the software?)

Printing problems Desket 3520 - says i can only print from apps

So frustrating.
Since upgrading to Window 8.1 I have nothing but print problems, despite unistalling and reinstalling. Now when I try to print,when I click on the print icon (that comes up from the swipe side bar) i get a message saying I can only print from apps. So I have been unable to print word docs etc of any kind. The printer works fine from my iphone and ipad and the laptop can see the printer wirelessly and connects to it - BUT IT WONT PRINT!! I've had to resort to emailing the docs to myself to print from my ipad - ridiculous!
WHAT is happening HP? I use an HP laptop and HP printer for a REASON, compatibilty. NOT SO since the update.
Please can someone send me an easy fix for this frustrating problem. 'Ive tried everything and I'm fairly computer savvy.

I am not quite sure why your Windows 8.1 is not printing to your Deskjet 3520 however, I have some ideas to try and find out and hopefully get it printing for you. The printer is working with other devices, which shows us the printer itself is alright.
Run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results. Please send me the results.
Also try a Clean Boot, restart the PC and try a print again. This will turn off all start up programs running on your PC, in the case there is something running that is blocking the printer from printing, this should bypass it. Also disable your firewall temporarily.
Try printing from two programs afterwards.
Also include how you have the printer connected to the PC (wireless, ethernet, usb).

In Settings/General/Restrictions if you tap on Cellular Data Use there should be 2 options: Allow Changes or Don't Allow Changes. If you don't see these options is that where you see "Cellular data is turned off for 'Setting'?
Do you have a corporate MS Exchange email account on your phone? If so your administrator may have added an override on this setting.

Being a rompler, the legacy coll. is a RAM hog. Try using it in multimode to save memory. It should have a "dump unused samples" feature, but it doesn't

Will 64-bit office fix out of memory error?

I've been troubleshooting an out of memory error in Excel 2010 for some time. I've read quite a few articles on forums and on MS sites (including here.) I find many hits but none seems to offer a solution that works. One idea that seems to show
up often is that 64-bit Office versions will have a LOT MORE memory to work with than 32-bit versions. I'm running a 64-bit version of Windows 7, so I'm considering giving Office 2010 64-bit a try. However, I also find a lot of caveats in those articles that
concern me. On the other hand most of those articles are 2 to 3 years old, so I'm wondering if most of those issues have been dealt with. For example, VBA issues; third-party add-ins that do not (did not) support 64-bit; ActiveX and COM issues.
Sorry to be overly verbose. My questions pretty much come down to this:
1. Is 64-bit likely to solve my out of memory problem?
2. What issues are still unresolved in 64-bit Excel with Windows 7?

If you are an Excel power user working with huge amounts of data, then you would benefit from 64-bit Office being able to utilize more memory.
MS is recommending 32-bit Office as the default installation on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows mainly due to compatibility with existing 32-bit controls, add-ins, and VBA.
This is really not an issue that can be resolved on Office side, it depends on whether you are using any 32-bits controls, add-ins and VBA. The question is those existing 32-bit controls, add-ins and vba need an update to adapter to the 64bit of Office.
If all your controls, add-ins and VBA is 64 bits, or designed to work with 64 bits of Office, then you are good.

Data merge with images! cannot get it to work

I have set up my spread sheet like i usually do for a data merge with an extra column for the images with i called '@images-
my images i named the following way
Macintosh HD:Users:myname:Desktop:test:imagesqrcode_AberdeenENG.png it didnt work
i tried
Users:myname:Desktop:test:imagesqrcode_AberdeenENG.png it didnt work
i tried with slashes
i placed the images in the same file as my in design file and just named it qrcode_AberdeenENG.png that still didnt work
doesn anyone out there have a solution

Try placing the images in the same folder as the source file (the .txt file).
Then you should just be able to use the exact name of the image (no path required).

Tip for Data Merge with Multiple Records (labels, etc.)

I have seen many InDesign Data Merge questions about how to create sheets of mailing labels, especially the problem of getting only one label per page, when you need 30 or more.
Adobe's instructions are poor and incomplete in that InDesign doesn't step out the records from a data source - it steps out the FRAMES that contain the data field placeholders.
That is why you only need to place a text or image frame once on a single page - during the datamerge, InDesign will create the additional FRAMES for each record, and it will create the pages required to hold them.

Is there a way to name the .indd files created by a data merge with values in the CSV file

I have a data merge document that is set to single Record per Document page and 1 page per document. In my CSV file I have a field for Part Number. If I run a data merge with 10 records I end up with 10 .indd files. I need a way so that the resulting .indd files are named the same value that is in the Part Number field.

So there are several ways to get unique name PDFs from an indesign Data Merge. However, none of these 3 articles will truly answer your question of how to get unique indesign filenames using the database. I can see a practical purpose for this as merging business cards directly to PDFs is great, but I can be guaranteed that while on proof, there will be alts to the business cards that need to be done outside the merge, meaning specific records need to be exported to indesign files for further manipulation.

Out of memory Error with jdk 1.6

I have a swing application launched on the client with the help of Java web start. The applications works fine in jre 1.4 and jre 1.5. The heap sizes are :
initial-heap-size="5m" max-heap-size="24m"
But when I run this using jre 1.6.0_05-b13, I am getting Out of memory Error, java heap size. And I see the memory usage is growing rapidly which I didn't notice in other jre versions (1.4 and 1.5).
Does anyone have any idea on this?

Thanks for your response Peter. During my continuous testing I identified that error happens on jdk 1.5 also. And I have increased the min-heap-size to 24 MB and max-heap-size to 64 MB. But in that case also I noticed the out of memory error. The interesting thing is, the min-heap-size is never increased from 24MB and lot of free memory also.
Memory: 24,448K Free: 12,714K (52%) ... completed.
The Outofmemoryerror triggers from the reader thread which does the job of reading the data from the InputStream. One thing is we are continuously pushing more data on the output stream from the other end. Is that any limitation on InputStream which can hold some definite amount of data.
Please throw some light on this.

application has some places where we're using straight SQL to create a
query using the following statement:
Query query = pm.newQuery ("javax.jdo.query.SQL", queryString);
There is one query that performs an inner join and returns over 2 billion
results. Of course this throws an out of memory error when we try to add
the results to a list. I printed out the exact SQL statement that is
being executed and it should return 0 results. The application is hitting
an Oracle 9i database, and running the query through the Oracle tool
SQLPlus returns the correct result. I'm stumped as to why this massive
result set is being returned when we use KODO. Here is the SQL string for
your examination:
SELECT T_ORDERITEM.* FROM T_ORDERITEM INNER JOIN T_REVENUE ON
T_ORDERITEM.ORDER_HOID = T_REVENUE.HOID WHERE T_ORDERITEM.COMMODITY_HOID
