Data Migration using LSMW or BDC ?

Hi,
Can anyone provide me with the following information about uploading MM Master Data using LSMW or BDC :-
1. What and all tables are used for uploading Material Master, Vendor Master, Info Record, Open PO, Open PR, RFQ, Open Contracts/Agreements ?
2. What problems are faced during Data Upload ?
3. What error appears/encouontered during upload ?
4. What is the diffrence b/w LSMW and BDC ? Both can be used for Data upload so, what differences are b/w them ?
5. Any other thing to remember/know during Data Upload ?

u need to do just a search on individual post.
see what ever ur posted, u r definetly got the solutions through others,
remember most of these answers are fetching by this threads itself (60-70%)
a few solutions are there that are given by own,
so better to search first, in the forum , if not satisfied with the solutions then .........

Hello guys iam migrating open sales order and iam having header fields

item fields are

what is the standard object available for this migration in lsmw.?i thought of using
0090 salesdocument standrd object using direct input method but field ismactivation is not available in that object.
if i go for bapi method salesorder_createfromdat2 i couldnt find the above fields for mapping in that object.but some of the guys in this forum used this bapi method for this type of migration i dnt how they did it can u please suggest solution for this .

Hi!
In the given BAPI, the field names are different. You have to match them using their description or data type.
If you check this BAPI in transaction SE37, on hte Import tab, click on the BAPISDHD1ref type.
Here you can find the field DOC_TYPE (type AUART). With this way, you can find the matching fields.

Business partner migration using lsmw direct load .

Hi,
We need to do business partner migration using the direct load method.
We are thinking of using direct input method of lsmw for the data transfer.
Could someone suggest a proper object/ subobject for the same.
Alternatively has anyone done the same using LSMWbapi or LSMWidocs.

Open PR & PO migration using LSMW

Hi All,
is it possible to migrate open PO & PR using LSMW method. I have already migrated material master by using LSMW( Recording) .
but it's not possible to migrate open PR or PO using LSMW recording method.
can i use direct input method to upload open PO & PR ? Please advice which method is best for open PO & PR.

HR data upload using LSMW

Hi All
I am using LSMW to upload the HR master data. The infotype data that is loaded include the basic infotypes like 0000, 0001, 0002, 0007, 0014 and 0019 (monitoring of tasks). I am using recording method. I can record all infotypes till 0014 in single shot and the recording gets saved at the end of 0014 and gets back to LSMW step. I need 0019 infotype recording also. For this what should I do? How should I record it? Can I record this individually and attach to the above recording? Please help.

Hi,
What we do during data convertion is creating each recording separately. I don't think the customer will provide you one data file with all ITs information. Providing he/she has to extract data from his/her system it is likely that you get separeted files. Pelase ensure it won't be this way.
Moreover this approach is less error-prone. Image that you are missing some configuration for one of the infotype, which is in the middle (lets say 4th in the row out of 10). Everything would load correctly till it reaches this "unlucky" infotype. Then the record has status of not loaded. The rest would be skipped and you have missing data. Now you need to start reloading from this wrong infotype to the end. But how about these already loaded? Would you delete the records to avoid duplicating?
That's why I am really encouraging you to take each IT separately approach. It is better to spend some time preparing data files then loosing your nerves when investingating what's in and what's not yet in the system, in case an error occurs.

SAP Retail : Article Master Data Transfer using LSMW/ARTMAS05: EAN Error

I want to thank you for providing very informative articles on the Master Data of ERP Retail.
We are currently loading articles to SAP from legacy and use your articles on ERP Retail as part of our knowledge warehouse.
We have encountered an error which has stumped our conversion.
We are getting an M3 535 error stating that "First specify the main EAN for the unit EA". We are using LSMW (IDOC Method, Basic Type ARTMAS05).
Our MARM segments have generic and variants. The UPC and UPC category (set to UC) are filled for the variants and blank in the segment containing the generic.
Our MEAN segments contain variants only with the UPC and UPC category (set to UC) filled.
Our UC EAN category is configured with a blank check digit algorithm and a number range of 12 digits. We are loading our variants with EANs that are 12 digits.
When debugged IDOC_INPUT_ARTMAS, I noticed that :
In routine MARM_UEBERGEBEN (in function module BAPI_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_RT), this code clears our MARMX indicators :
   LOOP AT UNITSOFMEASURE.
    ART_DATA_EXISTS = 'X'.    "JH/05.01.00/4.6C Entkopplung der MALG
    IF UNITSOFMEASURE-FUNCTION NE C_MSGFN_D.   ->>>> this checks if our function code is 003 (which is a delete).
*     TMFIELDRES aufbauen
      CLEAR UNITSOFMEASUREX.                   ->>>> Since we are doing a create, it clears the indicators in unitsofmeasureX
To bypass this clear, I debugged the program and overlayed the indicators and marked UPC and UPC category as 'X'. This worked and we were able to post our IDOC successfully... THe UPCs showed in the MARM and MEAN tables.
However, knowing that there are a lot of Retail companies loading articles into their SAP system, it would seem odd that no one has reported this as a bug or no one has posted this issue in SDN. I could not find any OSS note related to this issue either.
Can you please help us figure out what is wrong ? Have you encountered this error in the past ? Is there something in config that we should check ? Should we look at fields in our segments ?
Any help from you would be greatly appreciated.

please open an OSS customer message.
Put in a valid IDOC ARTMAS number with this error and open your system.
I guess either it is a bug in IODC structure or you found a bug in software.

Data Transfer using LSMW IDOC processing with multiple segments

we need to post the document data (Header structure, BP item structure, G/L item structure..etc) using LSMW IDOC processing.
is it possible to transfer data for all these structures (Segments) in single file?

I am assuming when we are specifying the file in LSMW we are going to give the option to generate the file with include all structures.
could you please elaborate further is there any thing specific we need to do while configuring LSMW to get the file for all segments in the IDOC with field names which we are going to populate with data, so that we can use it for data transfer.

Data migration in LSMW with CRM_XIF_PARTNER_SAVE

for a data migration of business partners from a legacy system into a CRM 5.0 system I want to use the CRM_XIF_PARTNER_SAVE or CRM_XIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M IDoc. Everything works fine when I migrate a business partner with only one address and only one bank account, but what settings I have to make that I'm able to migrate a business partner with multiple addresses and bank accounts?

you need to repeat the corresponding IDoc segements for "Bank Details",
eg for IDoc CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE01 (display via WE30 or navigate via BDFG).

You can try the same for address data. Note: you don't need to renumebr the repeated segments in the IDoc, the "system" is doing it ...
Be sure that the sequence of the other segements after the duplication is still the same, or you get an error.
Go to transaction WE19. There you key in an existing and successfully posted IDoc. Then you can edit this Idoc, insert the new segements for additional phone numbers for testing.

I have used the same IDoc. But the following fields are not in the IDOC structure .
2. RQPAS-QUALITAT - Qualitative Characteristic
3. PLMK-MKVERSION - Version Number of the Master Inspection Characteristic
4. PLMK-PMTVERSION - Version Number of the Inspection Method
I found that MKVersions are maintaining in the MIC (Master of Inspection Characteristic) , Once the MIC number is given in the inpsection plan , It is populating the version automatically.
SInce IDOC has qunatitive indicator, If value is populated to qunatitative indicator it is checking the quantative othwise if empty it is populating qualitative .
