DATA_MODE=HYBRID

Hello,
I read in SAP help that:
"When you add the DATA_MODE=HYBRID parameter to the URL, the system uses pre-calculated data, provided that precalculated data is available for the Data Provider.
If no pre-calculated data is available, the system requests current data from the OLAP processor, as in the NEW mode. "
My question is why not to add it to every quary? Is it possible that the data i'll get wont be updated?
Please Advice,
David

Hi,
This DATA_MODE is basically used to which data this will report will act upon.
When The DATA_MODE= HYBRID then the report will work on the data pre-calculated data that is already been scheduled in RA otherwise it will work on the new data. This is just to differentiate b/w the data we are interested in. When we execute the with DATA_MODE= HYBRID it will show the report for which pre-calulation has already been happened in background in Reporting Agent.
I am sending the details below.
Viewing the Pre_Caluclated Web Template :
To call up the web template with a particular data mode, add optional parameter to URL generated by the BEX Web Application and assign the value to it.
Following values for DATA_MODE parameters are available
a) Data mode DATA_MODE=NEW
When you add the DATA_MODE=NEW parameter to the URL, the system uses the most current data. The system uses the most current data even when this parameter is not set.
b) Data mode DATA_MODE=STORED
When you add the DATA_MODE=STORED parameter to the URL, the system only accesses pre-calculated data. An error message is displayed if no data is available.
c) Data mode DATA_MODE=HYBRID
When you add the DATA_MODE=HYBRID parameter to the URL, the system uses pre-calculated data, provided that precalculated data is available for the Data Provider.
If no pre-calculated data is available, the system requests current data from the OLAP processor, as in the NEW mode.
d) Data mode DATA_MODE=STATIC
When you add the DATA_MODE=STATIC parameter to the URL, the system only accesses pre-calculated HTML pages.
An error message is displayed if no data is available.
e) Data mode DATA_MODE=STATIC_HYBRID
When you add the DATA_MODE=STATIC_HYBRID parameter to the URL, the system uses pre-calculated HTML pages, provided that pre-calculated HTML pages are available for the Data Provider. If no pre-calculated HTML pages are available, the system searches for pre-calculated data, as in the STORED mode. If no pre-calculated data is available, the system requests current data from the OLAP processor, as in the NEW mode.
To call the above Pre-calculated Web template add DATA_MODE=STORED to the URL generated.

  • Data_Mode = Hybrid - no context menu

    Hi,
we use this Data_Mode in our Webtemplates properties (because we plan to precalculate data in the future). Currently we don't precalculate data.
Our problem: The context menu isn't availabe if using HYBRID. We have variables in our query.
The documenation says: "When you add the DATA_MODE=HYBRID parameter to the URL, the system uses pre-calculated data, provided that precalculated data is available for the Data Provider. If no pre-calculated data is available, the system requests current data from the OLAP processor, as in the NEW mode."
We execute our reports form the Role Menu, so we didn't add "DATA_MODE=HYBRID" to the URL.
Does this mean, that if I use "DATA_MODE=HYBRID" in the template properties the HYBRID function (if prec. data exists, use it, if not access data in NEW mode) doesn't work and the navigation, too?
    Thanks for your help.
    BR, Andreas

If you mention(DATA_MODE=HYBRID) in template properties ,it always first checks in cached data . If it didn't find cached data , gets it from cube.
this should work as we are passing it in URL.

  • Firefox 4 initially worked fine, but after a back-up and restoration (now on a hybrid disk) it cannot find the bookmarks and crashes when I attempt to open the HTML file

I installed Firefox 4 on my 2010 13" MBP, standard configuration. It worked fine except that it didn't recognize any of the add-ons I was using and, to be frank, I don't like the interface as much as v.3. But ...
Then I backed up the entire HD, wiped the HD, removed it and replaced it with a Seagate hybrid HD. I then booted from the b/u and installed the entire HD contents on the new hybrid HD. Everything runs fine except for one thing -- Firefox 4 now will not recognize my bookmarks.
I tried reinstalling FF4 but this made no difference.
I did the b/u and restoration with Carbon Copy Cloner which I have used successfully for many b/u and restore operations on this and the white MB I previously owned.
Uh oh! I just tried to save a new bookmark (of this page) and it did not save -- or at least, it did not show in the "Show all Bookmarks" pane.
HOWEVER, when I start typing in a URL, it FF4 comes up with the completed URL in a flash. e.g. I typed "wiz" and FF4 showed me the completed URL (which should be in my Toolbar bookmarks and which I visit t least once daily).

Enterprises are increasingly turning to cloud to drive agility and closely align IT resources to business needs. New or short-term projects and unexpected spikes in demand can be satisfied quickly and elastically with cloud resources, spurring more creativity and productivity while reducing the waste associated with over- or under-provisioning.
Figure 1) Cloud lets you closely align resources to demand.
    Source: NetApp, 2015
While the benefits are attractive for many workloads, customer input suggests that even more can be achieved by moving beyond cloud silos and better managing data across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, with the ability to move data between clouds as needs and prices change. Hybrid cloud models are emerging where data can flow fluidly to the right location at the right time to optimize business outcomes while providing enhanced control and stewardship.
These models fall into two general categories based on data location. In the first, data moves as needed between on-premises data centers and the cloud. In the second, data is located strategically near, but not in, the cloud.
Let's look at what some customers are doing with hybrid cloud in the real world, their goals, and the outcomes.
    Data in the Cloud
At NetApp, we see a variety of hybrid cloud deployments sharing data between on-premises data centers and the cloud, providing greater control and flexibility. These deployments utilize both cloud service providers (CSPs) and hyperscale public clouds such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Use Case 1: Partners with Verizon for Software as a Service Colocation and integrated Disaster Recovery in the Cloud
For financial services company BlackLine, availability, security, and compliance with financial standards is paramount. But with the company growing at 50% per year, and periodic throughput and capacity bursts of up to 20 times baseline, the company knew it couldn't sustain its business model with on-premises IT alone.
Stringent requirements often lead to innovation. BlackLine deployed its private cloud infrastructure at a Verizon colocation facility. The Verizon location gives them a data center that is purpose-built for security and compliance. It enables the company to retain full control over sensitive data while delivering the network speed and reliability it needs. The colocation facility gives Blackline access to Verizon cloud services with maximum bandwidth and minimum latency. The company currently uses Verizon Cloud for disaster recovery and backup. Verizon cloud services are built on NetApp® technology, so they work seamlessly with BlackLine's existing NetApp storage.
To learn more about BlackLine's hybrid cloud deployment, read the executive summary and technical case study, or watch this customer video.
Use Case 2: Private, Nonprofit University Eliminates Tape with Cloud Integrated Storage
A private university was just beginning its cloud initiative and wanted to eliminate tape—and offsite tape storage. The university had been using Data Domain as a backup target in its environment, but capacity and expense had become a significant issue, and it didn't provide a backup-to-cloud option.
The director of Backup turned to a NetApp SteelStore cloud-integrated storage appliance to address the university's needs. A proof of concept showed that SteelStore™ was perfect. The on-site appliance has built-in disk capacity to store the most recent backups so that the majority of restores still happen locally. Data is also replicated to AWS, providing cheap and deep storage for long-term retention. SteelStore features deduplication, compression, and encryption, so it efficiently uses both storage capacity (both in the appliance and in the cloud) and network bandwidth. Encryption keys are managed on-premises, ensuring that data in the cloud is secure.
The university is already adding a second SteelStore appliance to support another location, and—recognizing which way the wind is blowing—the director of Backup has become the director of Backup and Cloud.
Use Case 3: Consumer Finance Company Chooses Cloud ONTAP to Move Data Back On-Premises
A leading provider of online payment services needed a way to move data generated by customer applications running in AWS to its on-premises data warehouse. NetApp Cloud ONTAP® running in AWS proved to be the least expensive way to accomplish this.
Cloud ONTAP provides the full suite of NetApp enterprise data management tools for use with Amazon Elastic Block Storage, including storage efficiency, replication, and integrated data protection. Cloud ONTAP makes it simple to efficiently replicate the data from AWS to NetApp FAS storage in the company's own data centers. The company can now use existing extract, transform and load (ETL) tools for its data warehouse and run analytics on data generated in AWS.
Regular replication not only facilitates analytics, it also ensures that a copy of important data is stored on-premises, protecting data from possible cloud outages. Read the success story to learn more.
    Data Near the Cloud
For many organizations, deploying data near the hyperscale public cloud is a great choice because they can retain physical control of their data while taking advantage of elastic cloud compute resources on an as-needed basis. This hybrid cloud architecture can deliver better IOPS performance than native public cloud storage services, enterprise-class data management, and flexible access to multiple public cloud providers without moving data. Read the recent white paper from the Enterprise Strategy Group, “NetApp Multi-cloud Private Storage: Take Charge of Your Cloud Data,” to learn more about this approach.
Use Case 1: Municipality Opts for Hybrid Cloud with NetApp Private Storage for AWS
The IT budgets of many local governments are stretched tight, making it difficult to keep up with the growing expectations of citizens. One small municipality found itself in this exact situation, with aging infrastructure and a data center that not only was nearing capacity, but was also located in a flood plain.
Rather than continue to invest in its own data center infrastructure, the municipality chose a hybrid cloud using NetApp Private Storage (NPS) for AWS. Because NPS stores personal, identifiable information and data that's subject to strict privacy laws, the municipality needed to retain control of its data. NPS does just that, while opening the door to better citizen services, improving availability and data protection, and saving $250,000 in taxpayer dollars. Read the success story to find out more.
Use Case 2: IT Consulting Firm Expands Business Model with NetApp Private Storage for Azure
A Japanese IT consulting firm specializing in SAP recognized the hybrid cloud as a way to expand its service offerings and grow revenue. By choosing NetApp Private Storage for Microsoft Azure, the firm can now offer a cloud service with greater flexibility and control over data versus services that store data in the cloud.
The new service is being rolled out first to support the development work of the firm's internal systems integration engineering teams, and will later provide SAP development and testing, and disaster recovery services for mid-market customers in financial services, retail, and pharmaceutical industries.
Use Case 3: Financial Services Leader Partners with NetApp for Major Cloud Initiative
In the heavily regulated financial services industry, the journey to cloud must be orchestrated to address security, data privacy, and compliance. A leading Australian company recognized that cloud would enable new business opportunities and convert capital expenditures to monthly operating costs. However, with nine million customers, the company must know exactly where its data is stored. Using native cloud storage is not an option for certain data, and regulations require that the company maintain a tertiary copy of data and retain the ability to restore data under any circumstances. The company also needed to vacate one of its disaster-recovery data centers by the end of 2014.
To address these requirements, the company opted for NetApp Private Storage for Cloud. The firm placed NetApp storage systems in two separate locations: an Equinix cloud access facility and a Global Switch colocation facility both located in Sydney. This satisfies the requirement for three copies of critical data and allows them to take advantage of AWS EC2 compute instances as needed, with the option to use Microsoft Azure or IBM SoftLayer as an alternative to AWS without migrating data. For performance, the company extended its corporate network to the two facilities.
The firm vacated the data center on schedule, a multimillion-dollar cost avoidance. Cloud services are being rolled out in three phases. In the first phase, NPS will provide disaster recovery for the company's 12,000 virtual desktops. In phase two, NPS will provide disaster recover for enterprise-wide applications. In the final phase, the company will move all enterprise applications to NPS and AWS. NPS gives the company a proven methodology for moving production workloads to the cloud, enabling it to offer new services faster. Because the on-premises storage is the same as the cloud storage, making application architecture changes will also be faster and easier than it would be with other options. I was looking for some real world "Best Practices" of deploying J2EEapplications
    into a Production Weblogic Environment.
We are new at deploying applications to J2EE application servers and arecurrently
    debating 2 methods.
    1) Store all configuration (application as well as Domain configuration)in properties
files and Use Ant to rebuild the domain everytime the application isdeployed.
I am just a WLS engineer, not a customer, so my opinions have in some
regards little relative weight. However I think you'll get more mileage out
of the fact that once you have created your config.xml, checking it into src
control, versioning it. I would imagine that application changes are more
frequent than server/domain configuration so it seems a little heavy weight
to regenerate the entire configuration everytime an application is
deployed/redeployed. Either way you should check out the wlconfig ant task.
    Cheers
    mbg
    2) Have a production domain built one time, configured as required andalways
up and available, then use Ant to deploy only the J2EE application intothe existing,
    running production domain.
I would be interested in hearing how people are doing this in theirproduction
environments and any pros and cons of one way over the other.
    Thanks.

  • I want to install hybrid drive in Macbook pro. I bought my Mac book with lion and am now running mountain lion. I was told I needed install disk to set up new drive before restoring from my time capsule. Is this correct and if so how do I get disk osx10?

I purchased a Mac book Pro in Aug 2012 with lion and have upgraded to mountain lion. I currently am looking to install the segate 750 gig hybrid drive. I watching video I shows me needing a OSX 10 disk to boot off of when the new disk is in and the use time capsule to restore system from back up drive to new hybrid. Hope I got this correct so far. that being said my Mac Book did not come with a disk therefore is one available, when I get to point of restoring from back up with it be the same mountain lion system I had. Sorr if this sounds redudant.. Thank you in advance

Connect the new hybrid drive to your MBP.  Start up your MBP holding the OPTION key, the two HDD icons will appear.  Select the 'restore' icon on the right.  When you get to the menu where you have 4 options, select Disk Utility.  Format the drive and then you can use the option of restoring it from Time Machine.
    Ciao.

  • Hybrid Mor

I'm using Logic Studio on an Intel Mac, and the installation went fine. The problem is that when I try to click on one the sounds in the media library, I get e pop-up that says "plug-in Hybrid Mor not available". This doesn't happen on all sounds of coarse but on many of them, especially the synth sounds. What does this mean and how do I resolve it?

This question comes up a lot. Read this thread - it should help.

  • Photoshop CC + Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid

Can I use Photoshop CC on my Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid tablet? It is an Android system. How can I download and install it?

Thomas Wyser I am sorry but you will need to run Photoshop CC using Windows 7 with Service Pack 1 or later.  Alternately you could run it under Mac OS 10.7 or later although you would need a different computer.  You can find a list of the system requirements at System requirements | Photoshop.

  • Problem with Intel/ATI Hybrid Graphics

Hi, I Just got a new laptop with the intel(hd4400)/ati(hd8670m) hybrid graphics. I followed exactly this https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Hy … ons_So_Far, trying to disable my discrete card, but I did not have vgaswitcheroo under /sys/kernel/debug. Then I did a reboot, it stopped booting after FSCK, no login for me. I did add radeon and i915 to MODULES in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf if that's what you are wondering. I had to chroot with Arch installer and add a basic 20-intel.conf file to be able to boot into my DE.
dmesg output below shows that I had radeon loaded, but still no vgaswitcheroo directory.

You didn't give much information so...
Blacklisting is now done via /etc/modprobe.d/*.conf files
    For example:
    /etc/modprobe.d/disable-radeon.conf would contain
    install radeon /bin/false
You can also write "blacklist radeon" instead but that only prevents loading it automatically on itself while booting. You can still modprobe it and if it is a dependency of an automatically loaded module it will still get loaded. With the install ... /bin/false there is no way to load it.
Also you need to make sure that it is not in the modules array in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf (or that your disable-radeon.conf is in the files array) because the initramfs is its own mini-system that doesn't know about the module configuration otherwise.
but thats the problem ! i need radeon module to start because vgaswitcheroo needs it ! and then trun it off because 'I' dont need it ! anyway i ll give 'bin/false' method a try !

  • Hybrid Search not working from SharePoint 2013 Online to SharePoint On-premise

    Hi,
I have setup a SharePoint 2013 Hybrid environment setup with the following –
    Windows Server 2012 R2
SharePoint Server 2013 with April 2014 CU
    SQL Server 2014
ADFS 3.0 using SSO with Web proxy and DirSync
SharePoint 2013 Online tenant on Office 365 Enterprise Subscription
I have configured the Hybrid following the article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj838715(v=office.15).aspx and configured Hybrid Search. The hybrid environment was working fine including Search both ways initially
but after upgrade to April CU 2014 (along with upgrade to SQL 2014 from SQL 2012), now search from SharePoint online to SharePoint in-Premise is not working anymore.
I am still able login with the federated IDs in both the environments and get results from SharePoint Online in SharePoint in-Premise environment.
I have already tried most of the troubleshooting steps mentioned at
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn518363(v=office.15).aspx
Now every time, we perform a search in our SharePoint Online site, which is configured to show hybrid results from SharePoint in-premise, we don’t get results from in-premise and instead we see the following error logged in SharePoint
    In-premise Web Server –
Error - An exception occurred when trying to issue security token: Exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' was thrown. Parameter name: value.
And ULS log shows the following – Even though the message seems apparent that there could be duplicate users in user profile Application, but that’s not the case. There are just 2 unique users added there.

    Any ideas?
    Anupam Shrivastava

I am experiencing the same issue. Don't have the answer yet about what's wrong exactly. And my SSO works fine too.
I know precisely what makes the SharePoint throw the ArgumentException, but I can't yet figure out how to influence this behavior. I will respond back if I find out, but I hope the following will create an "aha moment" for someone.
So the SP Online issues an OAuth request to the on-prem SharePoint. If verbose logging is on for the Claims category, you may see how it reads these claims. One of them is this:
    Claim['nii':'urn:federation:microsoftonline']
Using this claim and the nameid claim the profile mapping logic then reports the following immediately before the error (Set User Profiles to verbose to see this):
Creating encoded sid for nameid '100300008b29cb02' and nameidissuer 'urn:federation:microsoftonline'
Inspecting this logic with Reflector, I can see that it then attempts to infer the identity provider type from the nameidissuer, and throws the exception, because "federation" is not what it expects. It expects either "windows", "trusted" or "forms" for
    the provider type.
So the user's actions to lead to this error were as follows:
    1. I connect to the Office 365 portal, and get redirected to my ADFS server (same domain for the ADFS server, on-prem SharePoint, and the user accounts).
    2. I log on, and from the SP Online portal I issue my search query using a result source configured as per the Hybrid TechNet guidance.
So thanks in advance for any suggestions, on what it could be.

  • Jabber Directory Integration in hybrid mode

We are running Jabber in cloud/hybrid mode.  Meaning we use WebEx connect cloud for IM/Presence but use our on premise CUCM for voice services.  This works great for the most part.
We recently had Cisco enable "Directory Integration" for our ORG domain.  This allows us to export our users from AD, create a CSV file and then upload this CSV file to Cisco's SFTP server to be imported into Jabber.  Everything is scheduled and requires no user intervention to add/deacitvate users.  We have the import working and are able to get accounts created.  The problem is that enabling Directory Integration has disabled our ability to manually update user profiles and our users ability to upload their contact photo from the Jabber client.
From the docs it looks like we can specify a webserver that hosts our contact photos.  But this webserver would need to be wide open, no security so that Jabber can access the photos directly.  Seems like there has to be a better solution.
Anyone else running a hybrid deployment and tackled the contact photos dilemma?

    Hi Venkat,
Yes, we installed a Windows 2008 with AD-LDS. Configured CUCM to sync to this AD-LDS and then configured Jabber to use UDS (CUCM 8.6(2) feature). This way Jabber has (indirect) access to the multi-forrest AD data.
Used this document to configure the AD-LDS (https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-16356
    Regards,
    Erik
PS. One thing we learned in this is that you've got to be carefull on selecting the "user-id" field. We initially used "mail" as the user id to make sure all accounts are unique but found out that when using Extension Mobility the user-id input on the phone doesn't accept very long usernames (which you might encounter when integrating based on the mail attribute).

  • SSO with Hybrid Cloud-Based Deployments

    Hi
I´m wondering, how SSO works with Hybrid Cloud-Based Deployments.
I want to use Jabber for Windows with WebEx Connect and Unified Communications integration with Cisco WebEx.
    Questions:
How can I configure Jabber for Windows to use SSO with WebEx Connect after Client-Installation?
I´ve read, that SSO username with WebEx Connect will be [email protected] Correct?
I´ve read, that I have to create a jabber-config.xml with a follows to enforce Jabber for Windows to use the Webex-Connect login credentials also for Phone Services. Correct?
    <CUCM>     <PhoneService_UseCredentialsFrom>presence</PhoneService_UseCredentialsFrom>   </CUCM>
If this is correct, Jabber for Windows will use [email protected] to authenticate with CUCM, but CUCM would need only the username without the domain. From my point of view, Jabber for Windows will not be able to authenticate with CUCM for Phone Services.
    Any thoughts?
    thank you
    Tino

    Hi Maqsood
Thanks for your info. I´ve tested the "PhoneService_UseCredentialsFrom" attribute in my hybrid deployment and it seems, that it effects the jabber also in this scenario: the credentials form in the jabber options menu are not displayed.
My understanding of the admin guide is, that it should work:
    Authentication in Hybrid Cloud-Based Deployments
If the client authentication credentials are the same as the voicemail service credentials on Cisco Unity Connection, you can specify the VoicemailService_UseCredentialsFrom parameter in the Cisco Jabber for Windowsconfiguration file. This parameter uses the client authentication credentials to access voicemail services. As a result, Cisco Jabber for Windows users do not need to enter their credentials for voicemail services in the client.
You should ensure that the sign in credentials and voicemail service credentials are the same for the Cisco Jabber for Windows users. If you set this parameter, the Voicemail section is not available on the Phone accounts tab in the Options window.
    thanks,
    Tino

  • ADFS SSO and SharePoint 2013 on-premise Hybrid outbound search results from SharePoint Online - does it work?

    Hi,
I want to setup an outpund hybrid search for SharePoint 2013 on-premise to SharePoint Online.
But I'm not shure if this works with ADFS SSO.
Has somebody experience with this setup?
Here's my guide which I'm going to use for this installation:
    Introduction
In this post I'll show you how to get search results from your SharePoint Online in your SharePoint 2013 on-premise search center.
    Requirements
User synchronisation ActiveDirectory to Office 365 with DirSync
DirSync password sync or ADFS SSO
    SharePoint Online
    SharePoint 2013 on-premise
    Enterprise Search service
    SharePoint Online Management Shell
    Instructions
All configuration will be done either in the Search Administration of the Central Administration or in the PowerShell console of your on-premise SharePoint 2013 server.
Set up Sever to Server Trust
    Export certificates
To create a server to server trust we need two certificates.
[certificate name].pfx: In order to replace the STS certificate, the certificate is needed in Personal Information Exchange (PFX) format including the private key.
[certificate name].cer: In order to set up a trust with Office 365 and Windows Azure ACS, the certificate is needed in CER Base64 format.
First launch the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
Select your SharePoint web server and double-click Server Certificates
In the Actions pane, click Create Self-Signed Certificate
Enter a name for the certificate and save it with OK
To export the new certificate in the Pfx format select it and click Export in the Actions pane
Fill the fields and click OK Export to: C:\[certificate
    name].pfx Password: [password]
Also we need to export the certificate in the CER Base64 format. For that purpose make a right-click on the certificate select it and click on View...
Click the Details tab and then click Copy to File
On the Welcome to the Certificate Export Wizard page, click Next
On the Export Private Key page, click Next
On the Export File Format page, click Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER), and then click Next.
    As file name enter C:\[certificate
    name].cer and then click Next
    Finish the export
Import the new STS (SharePoint Token Service) certificate
Let's update the certificate on the STS. Configure and run the PowerShell script below on your SharePoint server.
    if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
    # set the cerficates paths and password
    $PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
    $PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
    $X64CertPath = "c:\[certificate name].cer"
    # get the encrypted pfx certificate object
    $PfxCert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
    # import it
    Set-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig -ImportSigningCertificate $PfxCert
Type Yes when prompted with the following message.
You are about to change the signing certificate for the Security Token Service. Changing the certificate to an invalid, inaccessible or non-existent certificate will cause your SharePoint installation to stop functioning. Refer
to the following article for instructions on how to change this certificate: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=178475. Are you
    sure, you want to continue?
Restart IIS so STS picks up the new certificate.
    & iisreset
    & net stop SPTimerV4
    & net start SPTimerV4
Now validate the certificate replacement by running several PowerShell commands and compare their outputs.
    # set the cerficates paths and password
    $PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
    $PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
    # get the encrypted pfx certificate object
    New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
    # compare the output above with this output
    (Get-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig).LocalLoginProvider.SigningCertificate
    [/code]
    ## Establish the server to server trust
    [code lang="ps"]
    if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
    Import-Module MSOnline
    Import-Module MSOnlineExtended
    # set the cerficates paths and password
    $PfxCertPath = "c:\[certificate name].pfx"
    $PfxCertPassword = "[password]"
    $X64CertPath = "c:\[certificate name].cer"
    # set the onpremise domain that you added to Office 365
    $SPCN = "sharepoint.domain.com"
    # your onpremise SharePoint site url
    $SPSite="http://sharepoint"
    # don't change this value
    $SPOAppID="00000003-0000-0ff1-ce00-000000000000"
    # get the encrypted pfx certificate object
    $PfxCert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2 $PfxCertPath, $PfxCertPassword, 20
    # get the raw data
    $PfxCertBin = $PfxCert.GetRawCertData()
    # create a new certificate object
    $X64Cert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2
    # import the base 64 encoded certificate
    $X64Cert.Import($X64CertPath)
    # get the raw data
    $X64CertBin = $X64Cert.GetRawCertData()
    # save base 64 string in variable
    $CredValue = [System.Convert]::ToBase64String($X64CertBin)
    # connect to office 3656
    Connect-MsolService
    # register the on-premise STS as service principal in Office 365
    # add a new service principal
New-MsolServicePrincipalCredential -AppPrincipalId $SPOAppID -Type asymmetric -Usage Verify -Value $CredValue
    $MsolServicePrincipal = Get-MsolServicePrincipal -AppPrincipalId $SPOAppID
    $SPServicePrincipalNames = $MsolServicePrincipal.ServicePrincipalNames

    $MsolCompanyInformationID = (Get-MsolCompanyInformation).ObjectID
    $MsolServicePrincipalID = (Get-MsolServicePrincipal -ServicePrincipalName $SPOAppID).ObjectID
    $MsolNameIdentifier = "$MsolServicePrincipalID@$MsolCompanyInformationID"
    # establish the trust from on-premise with ACS (Azure Control Service)
    # add a new authenticatio realm
    $SPSite = Get-SPSite $SPSite
    $SPAppPrincipal = Register-SPAppPrincipal -site $SPSite.rootweb -nameIdentifier $MsolNameIdentifier -displayName "SharePoint Online"
    Set-SPAuthenticationRealm -realm $MsolServicePrincipalID
    # register the ACS application proxy and token issuer
New-SPAzureAccessControlServiceApplicationProxy -Name "ACS" -MetadataServiceEndpointUri "https://accounts.accesscontrol.windows.net/metadata/json/1/" -DefaultProxyGroup
New-SPTrustedSecurityTokenIssuer -MetadataEndpoint "https://accounts.accesscontrol.windows.net/metadata/json/1/" -IsTrustBroker -Name "ACS"
    Add a new result source
To get search results from SharePoint Online we have to add a new result source. Run the following script in a PowerShell ISE session on your SharePoint 2013 on-premise server. Don't forget to update the settings region
    if(-not (Get-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell" -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue)){Add-PSSnapin "Microsoft.SharePoint.PowerShell"}
    # region settings
    $RemoteSharePointUrl = "http://[example].sharepoint.com"
    $ResultSourceName = "SharePoint Online"
    $QueryTransform = "{searchTerms}"
    $Provier = "SharePoint-Remoteanbieter"
    # region settings end
    $SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication
    $FederationManager = New-Object Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.Query.FederationManager($SPEnterpriseSearchServiceApplication)
    $SPEnterpriseSearchOwner = Get-SPEnterpriseSearchOwner -Level Ssa
    $ResultSource = $FederationManager.GetSourceByName($ResultSourceName, $SPEnterpriseSearchOwner)
    if(!$ResultSource){
Write-Host "Result source does not exist. Creating..."
    $ResultSource = $FederationManager.CreateSource($SPEnterpriseSearchOwner)
    $ResultSource.Name = $ResultSourceName
    $ResultSource.ProviderId = $FederationManager.ListProviders()[$Provier].Id
    $ResultSource.ConnectionUrlTemplate = $RemoteSharePointUrl
    $ResultSource.CreateQueryTransform($QueryTransform)
    $ResultSource.Commit()
    Add a new query rule
In the Search Administration click on Query Rules
Select Local SharePoint as Result Source
    Click New Query Rule
Enter a Rule name f.g. Search results from SharePoint Online
    Expand the Context section
Under Query is performed on these sources click on Add Source
Select your SharePoint Online result source
In the Query Conditions section click on Remove Condition
In the Actions section click on Add Result Block
As title enter Results for "{subjectTerms}" from SharePoint Online
In the Search this Source dropdown select your SharePoint Online result source
Select 3 in the Items dropdown
Expand the Settings section and select "More" link goes to the following URL
    In the box below enter this Url https://[example].sharepoint.com/search/pages/results.aspx?k={subjectTerms}
Select This block is always shown above core results and click the OK button
    Save the new query rule

    Hi  Janik,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to display hybrid search results in SharePoint Server 2013.
For achieving your demand, please have a look at the article:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn197173(v=office.15).aspx
If you are using single sign-on (SSO) authentication, it is important to test hybrid Search functionality by using federated user accounts. Native Office 365 user accounts and Active Directory Domain Services
(AD DS) accounts that are not federated are not recognized by both directory services. Therefore, they cannot authenticate using SSO, and cannot be granted permissions to resources in both deployments. For more information, see Accounts
needed for hybrid configuration and testing.

  • How to sign a hybrid extension?

    Hi,
I need to package and sign a hybrid extension (an extension that includes a CSXS-based Flex extension and a native C++ event adapter for Illustrator). Following the instructions given here: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/extensionmanager/cs/using/packaging_extension.pdf, I do the following:
    1. Build a Flex-based extension and package it into a signed ZXP file using the Extension Builder export function
    2. Build a native event adapter plug-in for Illustrator
    3. Prepare an .mxi file for my extension, which lists both the flex packaged .zxp-file (with the file-type="csxs" keyword) and the native plug-in (with the file-type="ordinary" keyword).
    4. Open the created .mxi file with Extension Manager and create a wrapper .zxp file.
Now I need to sign the resulting wrapper .zxp file. The above mentioned document says the following: “For information on digitally signing extensions, refer to the Creative Suite SDK: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/creativesuite/sdk”
On the SDK webpage I have found the link to Creative Suite 5 Extension Packaging and Signing Toolkit, which basically is the ucf.jar tool and a pdf file with a minimal set of instructions. The instructions are very poor - they do not explain how to use the tool, do not list all the arguments of the tool and do not explain the meaning of those arguments. As far as I understand, I cannot use the ucf.jar tool to just sign an already packaged extension - I have to package it first.
Is this correct? Is there a way to sign an extension without re-packaging it?
    Thank you in advance,
    Anatoly

    Anatoly Paraev wrote:
Why do you think that it's only CSXS ones that need signing?
Because it works without signing it!
I actually don't know that it doesn't need to be signed at all. If you create a pure package as a zxp it might need to be signed. (I've never actually tried that.)
But if you have a signed CSXS extension to start with, the signature in that is definitely enough...

  • Using a hybrid of the same apple ID for iPad and iPhone.

    Hey everyone,
I'd like to be clear and hopefully someone can give me an accurate response as soon as possible.
So, today my sister gave birth (Hurrah!) and she has an iPad 2 that i got her for christmas.
Long story short, my mom is in the same hospital as my sister in the emergency room since she had a heart attack/nervous attack and had to be there for testing. -- Thing is, i want her to Facetime me with an alternate email from my iCloud so she's able to see her grandson while i'm with her.
    Question:
Yes, or No: Can we use a hybrid of the same apple ID for both iPad and iPhone?
(Hybrid implying the use of iMessage/Facetime with an alternate email and not my cell number or primary account email.)

So once that's done, that'll be it?
Cause she has one of my alternate emaisl currently listed on the iPad (and i unselected those on my iPhone) and it seems that it's not registering as an iMessage when i try to send her a message via my iPhone.
