Data Modeler EA1 - Print settings not saved

Is there any way of saving page/print settings?
Getting print settings/layout right often takes several changes in setup, at the moment it appears to make me do it every time I print.

Not for now. I logged enhancement request for that.

  • Printer Settings Not Saving

I have an Epson 4800 and an Epson 6600. I have saved the printer presets for the different papers that I use. Like Roll Paper Glossy or Semimatte Sheet paper.
After the latest OS upgrade, my saved settings are not working! When I click on one of my saved settings, it is like it goes to the default settings. It does not even revert to the last settings used.
Any idea on how to get my saved printer presets to work again?

To make sure you really delete the settings, you should throw away the com.apple.print.custompresets.plist file in your /Library/Preferences/ folder in your home directory.

  • Problem with Office Word 2010 Print Settings not saving

    Office Pro Plus 2010 on XP2 x86
I've installed it on a couple of test systems to test our custom macros and vsto ribbons. They all seem to work OK, except for one thing.
The new File>Print screen - it does not remember it's settings. For example, in Word, go to the File>Print screen:
Change Collated to Uncollated and Print.
Exit Word and go back into Word.
Uncollated has changed back to Collated.
Now try the old style print dialogue (in Word 2010):
(Create a macro and run it)
    Sub OldPrintDialog()
    Dialogs(wdDialogFilePrint).Show
    End Sub
    Tick\Untick Collate and print.
Exit Word and go back in.
Look at the old Print Dialogue and it has remembered it's setting.
It looks like MS have forgotten to put code in that controls this. It works OK in Word 2000\2002\2003\2007... and will to be a problem for some of our computers when doing scripted printing, e.g. two
copies of a 3 page invoice prints from the wrong trays! It should print 1\1, 2\2, 3\3, but prints 1\2\3, 1\2\3.
And I've tried several different drivers and printers - they all behave the same...
I need to set the collate option permanently to "Uncollated".
Where is this setting stored, or is it a bug?
    Thanks
    G
EDIT (20110303 16:18): Just took Office 2010 off the invoicing test system and put Office 2003 on - and our invoices print correctly!

    Hi,
To specify the settings, follow these steps :
    1.
Start Word and open the document you want to change.
    2.
Click the Paper tab, you can do that according to the version of MS Office that you are using.
    3.
Under Paper, click the paper size you want.
    4.
If you want to change the page orientation of the document or its page margins, click the Margins tab.
    5.
    Select the desired options.
    6.
To use the paper size specified in step 4 for only the active section of the document, click Selected text.
    7.
    Click OK.
    Sincerely,
    Harry

I note that iCloud mail settings not saved in System Preferences on Mountain Lion even if I tick mail in Icloud then close system preferences then open system preferences and it is untiked again?
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user account, and the one in question is not an administrator account, then temporarily promote it to administrator status in the Users & Groups preference pane. To do that, unlock the preference pane using the credentials of an administrator, check the box marked Allow user to administer this computer, then reboot. You can demote the problem account back to standard status when this step has been completed.
Triple-click the following line to select it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR.. ; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_ ; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_ ; chmod -R -N ~ $_ ; } 2> /dev/null
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command will take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1 or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Windows 8.1 folder view settings not saved

  • Print Driver Settings Not Saving at Print Dialog [IDCS3, Vista]

Hi. On our only design machine that runs Vista, when the user tries to print something from InDesign CS3 and has to turn on duplexing in the printer driver setup, on clicking OK, those settings immediately go away, and thus the document will not print duplexed. It works fine on our XP machines.
A workaround is to set such printer driver settings via Vista's Control Panel, and this does work, however it's a bit cumbersome, since we print all kinds of documents.
    Pertaining Specs:
    - Adobe InDesign CS3 (5.0.3) for Windows
    - Vista Home SP1 (I think)
    - Konica-Minolta Bizhub C500
    - EFI Fiery 2.01 Driver for Vista / PostScript / Image Controller 405
It's similar to this issue, but the specs differ:
    Michael C Stone, "Indesign documents reset printer settings IDCS2 XPSP2" #, 14 Jun 2008 5:19 pm

It does say, "Double-sided: Yes," in Windows' printer properties for the Bizhub PS (and PCL) Fiery driver(s) -- in fact, this may have been from me turning it on for the PS driver in Windows Registry, as it was off for some reason, but seemed to make no real difference anyway -- but I think the duplexing option would have been grayed-out in the Fiery driver's dialog if not available as some various other options are -- the driver has the capability to poll the device for such options availability -- and I don't actually see anything duplexing-related on the Installable Options tab, but the Installed list is identical to one of our XP computers with no apparent issues with printing to the drivers from InDesign -- although at one point, if a Vista user printed an InDesign document and saved it (and thus the printer settings), XP users for some reason couldn't print the document without forcing a change in the print driver settings, but I believe this was due to using the same drivers but different TCP/IP port configurations per machine (Vista doesn't need the IP_ prefix as XP seems to).

  • Lr4 print template not saving 'Print Settings'

First of all ... I'm coming from Lr3 running in Windows XP to Lr4 on a Mac, and I'm still getting used to the way Mac OS does things, so bear with me ...
Since using Lr4 on my Mac, today is the first time coming back to a particular art paper.  If I remember correctly, with Lr3 (Windows) the print settings "Page Setup" and "Print Settings" were combined into a single dialog of parameters.  In any case, a defined Lr3 print template remembered everything (e.g., paper size, paper type, print quality, etc).  However, I am finding Lr4 (Mac) only remembers the 'Page Setup' settings and that I will always need check and usually modify the 'Print Settings'.  Is this a functional difference between Windows and Mac OS, or am I missing something?  Or, did something go awry when I upgraded to Lr 4.1 RC??

  • Outlook view settings not saved

I have one user who looses all View settings when restarting Outlook. Occasionally they will save, but it is very rare. Setting the Reading Pane to Off is one good example of a setting that does not save.
The creation of new Views is also not saved. After restarting Outlook, the new View does not appear in Manage All Views.
I have tried creating a new Outlook profile and I'm told that Office 2013 C2R has been re-installed since this problem started.
Outlook 2013 Click-To-Run via an Office 365 E3 subscription. Exchange Online mailbox. Windows 7 Pro 32-bit.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Basically, Outlook view settings are stored in the default data file. If the data file is corrupt or recreated every time Outlook restarts, the view settings may be not saved.
Does the user use Outlook with Cached Exchange mode enabled? If so, please go to
C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Outlook Files and check if you have multiple .ost files in the folder.
In addition, you may try to switch to turn off Cached Exchange mode and then test this issue again.
Please let me know the result.

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • N82: Clock settings not saved!?!

Just got an n82, and I found that the clock settings that I entered the first time when starting the phone are not saved. Every time I turn on the phone I am asked to enter time and date again, which is quite annoying. A consequence is that the alarm does not work either. Any idea on what to do?

The phone itself might be new, but who knows how long the battery itself has been waiting in the storehouse. So it should be checked first...

  • Some settings not saved in Presets file

I'd like to setup my fme environment with preset Xml files
(and with some dirty scripting hacks, we make the app load them
    automatically).
Unfortunately, not all the Device settings are saved. There
is a tuner specific Settings tab whose settings are not saved. So
if I want to change the actual TV channel I have to use the GUI.
Other settings (like crossbar_input) are found in the XML file.
Is there a way to set entries that are not saved by the GUI
directly in the XML presets file and make fme use them?

What you're looking for is startup.xml, which will be in the
application data directory for the current user. On my Vista
machine, the path looks like this:
    Drive:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Flash Media
    Encoder\startup.xml
that's where all of the current UI settings are stored. So
you know, startup.xml is UTF-16 encoded and it needs to stay that
way, and (for some reason) there needs to be a blank line at the
    end of the file.
    Hope it helps

  • Settings NOT saved for the iPod, because- not found

I've a lot of regular changes to make when updating my music library on my iPod. But when I'm in the middle of doing so - that is using TAB "Music" (which "Sync Music" enabled) - and checking all relevant playlists, an error appears:
"The settings were not saved for the iPod “<my iPod name>” because it could not be found."
I don't know what to do because the only related articles all dates back to… 2007! That's 5 years ago!!!
Of course I tried all the solutions of 2007, and when I do other errors occur like:
"iPod sync failed" OR… my iPod simple disappears from the list (and even DEVICES doesn't shows up anymore in the left pane).
    THANKS for helping me.

Can you post a link to the article you are referring to?
I assume you have tried using a nother USB sync cable to help rule out the possibility of a faulty one?  What about plugging the iPod into a different USB port on your Mac?
It might help to remove any other USB devices you have connected to the Mac. Then reboot the Mac as well as your iPod by pressing and holding both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. Then try to resync.
Could you provide the full text from the error messages you are referring to?
Make sure you are running the latest version of iTunes (10.6.3).

  • Print Preferences - not saving with report in CR2008

I have CR2008 FP 2.7 when I go to print --> preferences and set things like the paper output size and set it to staple the pages these settings do not get saved with the crystal report.  The next time I go into designer all of these changes are gone.  Setting the print style to single or double sided does save with the report.
Does anyone know why it is not saving all of the printing preferences?
    Thanks,

As this is happening in the designer, moved to Crystal Reports Design forum.

  • Advanced print settings not working in cs6

Since updating to Yosemite, I cannot access the advanced print settings for my Epson 3880.  I have the latest driver for the 3880.  No longer can select the paper, profile, etc.

    Problem Solved:
After uninstalling a previous version of Labview Runtime from the target machines and installing the newest version (which is consistent with my development environment) on the target machines, the Print Report.vi and all other report generation VI's I use seem to work fine.
Also important is to make sure that the lvrt.msi file on the development machine is up to date and consistent with the version of runtime on the target machines. This does not update automatically when upgrading to a newer version of labview (at least not when I updated from 6i to 6.02). It must be manually downloaded and inserted into the proper folder.
Thank you Ray at NI support.
