Data, nationwide family ques

I have been searching for hours. Decided to just come ask.
I currently have a 700 min nationwide family plan with 500 text messages and an unlimited data plan. I am strongly considering dropping the data plan since I use almost none of it.about 136 mgs since I bought my wifi modem. my contract renewal comes up in may. I have a razr maxx and the wife has a basic cosmos. So here are my questions
Can I purchase an unlocked basic phone from another source and drop the data plan now?
Can I sell my razr? what would I have to do as far as Verizon is concerned?
Does the Nationwide family plan still exist? When I renew my contract will I be able to just roll over my Nationwide plan without data or do I need to get one of the shared plans?
If the nationwide plan I am on currently is not available is there a plan for just voice and text. We use less than 200 minutes outside of calls made to each other and we had a combined 12 texts that weren’t between my wife and I.
Thank you for any help

Can I purchase an unlocked basic phone from another source and drop the data plan now? Yes, as long as the phone is branded Verizon and has a clean ESN. You can check here to see if the ESN/MEDI is available to be used on Verizon. (NOTE: The link will only check if a device is compatible with Verizon's Network. It will NOT determine if a device has been marked or flagged as stolen or otherwise not eligible for activation.) Be advised - if you drop your unlimited data plan, it is gone, and if you decide at a later date that you want data back, even on the Nationwide plan, you will have to choose a tiered data plan, starting at 2 GB for $30.
Can I sell my razr? what would I have to do as far as Verizon is concerned? Sure, you can sell the Razr. As long as another phone is activated on your line, and the Razr is no longer activated on your account, the phone is yours to do with as you wish. Be sure to do a factory reset and wipe all your personal information before you sell it.
Does the Nationwide family plan still exist? When I renew my contract will I be able to just roll over my Nationwide plan without data or do I need to get one of the shared plans? You can still keep your Nationwide plan; however if you are purchasing your next phone "from another source" you can simply activate it on your line. No need to renew your contract, just drop the data plan. You can continue on the Nationwide plan indefinitely.
If the nationwide plan I am on currently is not available is there a plan for just voice and text. We use less than 200 minutes outside of calls made to each other and we had a combined 12 texts that weren’t between my wife and I.

Based on your usage, you may want to consider pre-paid options.

• What happens to app content/data with Family Sharing?

Hello -
My girls, 10 and 12-yrs old, have been on my Apple ID for years. We've muddled through by me just turning off and on certain permissions, but I'd like to considering Family Sharing and getting them their own Apple IDs. I just got an iPhone 6 and we're passing the iPhone 5S to my eldest daughter, so it's an opportunity to do this now.
I've read all the instructions of setting up the kids in family share and how that works - I get that.
The question I have is whether everything has to be "recreated" on her phone? So, if I set up a new Family Sharing account for her and activate it on her phone, will all of the apps and content disappear, so we have to then redownload every app? In that case, won't the apps be "empty" of data?
So, for example, she and her friends have made a bunch of Video Star videos that live in the app. I'm trying to figure out - if I set her up with a new Apple ID on Family Sharing, is all that data going to be gone?
Or, any progress in a game (like Smurfs Village that literally has been played over years - or can she sign in as me from the Game Center ID with that one to have it be the same)?
Thanks for your help -

If you re-download the apps under a different ID, you'll lose all saved data.

• Canceling data on family plan

i have been thinking about getting the kin two m because of its wifi and i know that you have to go online to shut off the data useage so you dont get charged...... but i was wondering how this works if you an additional line on a family plan and other users on the plan have a data plan. could this be a problem?
thanks in advance for all of your answers

I had a phone damaged and replaced with the kin two by asuion. It was listed as a replacement for the Verse. When I tried to activate it Verizon wouldn't do it without changing the family plan I was still under contract with(included unlimited data plan). I am paying for a service for a few months till contract is up for an unused phone. I have called several times and have not had a returned call from Verizon, always supervisor is busy, will call you back. I have experienced the poorest customer service and will be canceling 5 phones within 3 months and several more later. I see that the Kin Two is still listed as a feature phone on the site. BEWARE!!!!

• Recover MBP password and data for family of deceased friend

Dear community,
A dear friend of mine has suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.
Quite understandably, his family would like to salvage as many family photos and other documents as possible which he stored on his Macbook Pro.
My question: Is there a recommended way to recover the account password in such a case? Since the deceased was extremely tech savvy, I have to assume that the data is also encrypted. Could perhaps even Apple itself help in a case like this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and best regards,
Jason

• Forefeit Free 4G LTE Double Data for Family Plan Upgrade?

I am currently on a Family Share plan with 4 total lines, two smartphones and two flip phones. One smartphone currently has the unlimited data plan, and my own Droid Razr has 4GB data plan, which was doubled from 2GB for free as part of Verizon's extended promotion of 4G LTE devices.
One of the flip phone lines will soon be upgrading to a smartphone. The Verizon store associate advised us that when this happens, our family plan will convert to the new structure. Generally speaking, for our situation, I find the new data plan structure attractive. My sister makes no use of her unlimited data plan, and those other data hogs are what's driving up the costs of plans for more conservative users like us. However, the associate also indicated that under the new plan, I'd be forfeiting the 2GB I currently receive for free. I tend to use between 2-3 GB per cycle, so this is obviously a concern and going to cost us substantially more money under the new plan. With our plan, I'll effectively be paying $120 more per year for data that I was told would be free.
Given that the double data promotion was a significant factor in my purchase decision, and that it's only be a few months since I renewed my contract under those terms, it seems unreasonable that this promotion isn't extended to the new plans. Furthermore, the new plans are structured to offer data in 2GB increments, so it should not be difficult (as it would be with the unlimited plan) to simply add 2 free GB to our new family plan.
Was the store associate correct about this change? If so, how is it fair to a longstanding customer to offer a bait-and-switch style promotion? Is Verizon going to keep changing plan structures and ripping off customers lured in by assurances of free data?

in my opinion, he was incorrect. i "think" that you can upgrade the flip phone to a smartphone and that line would just select the individual tiered plan of $30 for 2 gigs. that is the way i understand it. of course, i could be wrong. the following is from there own website and i read as the current plans will still be available, and really, the only thing completely going away are the grandfathered, unlimited plans.
You're not required to move to Share Everything but if you do, unlimited data will not be retained on your line. As a Verizon Wireless customer you have choices when you upgrade at discounted pricing. You can choose from a standalone data package starting at $30 for 2GB or a Share Everything Plan. If keeping unlimited is important to you, you can choose to upgrade and pay full retail price for the phone.

We are trying to use table T7XSSREUSEUISN to reuse country specific services. The table was empty (I donu2019t know if this is or not) and we input some entries here to make the services available four our country grouping (99 in our case). Also we have implemented badi HRXSS_PER_BEGDA.
I understood this should be done as well.
However we are still facing the above error.
Can you give some hints to try to resolve this issue?
Any helps and hints are more then welcome.
Thanks in advance,

Hi,

• How can I switch a data plan from one line to another?

I have 5 lines on my account in a Nationwide Family Plan. I have a question about these two lines:
A: Smartphone, 2GB Data
B: Smartphone, 4GB Data Promo
Line A has been using about 3GB every month due to no wifi access, while Line B uses less than 1.5 GB a month as they work from home.
I can't see upping Line A's data as the next available tier is the 5GB for $50/month, and there is literally no way I would ever consider a Share Everything plan, they are just too expensive for my needs (i have unlimited on my line and use 5-9GB a month)
Is there any way I can swap the data between the two phone numbers? Or just switch the phone numbers between the two phones? I can always swap the SIM's myself (they are 4G devices).
Thank you for any input you may have!

Your suggestion is to trade phone numbers. For example your example is Mom has XXX-555-1111 and Dad has XXX-555-2222. They would have change to Mom with the 2222 number and Dad with the 1111 number. All their contacts would have to call a new number to get that person.
For the OP to keep the numbers associated with the original person (Mom-1111 & Dad-2222) it isn't possible to switch phone numbers associated with a specific line's contract and features.

• Upgrading Multiple Phones on a Family Plan

I have been reading through posts on these forums and have yet to find a concrete answer to my situation. My wife and I have the nationwide family talk 700 plan and she is the primary number. When I login to our account online, it says that we only have 3 months left in our contract (up on 3/14/2011). When I click on upgrade it says her phone can be upgraded now at a discounted rate, but not my phone. We both want to get a Droid and add a data plan, however I would like to get the Droid R2D2 phone soon before they stop selling it as it is listed as a "limited edition" model. So if I were to use her line to get the phone now and activate it with my number, would she still be eligible to upgrade her phone on 3/14/2011? It is a little confusing to me that her phone is upgradeable now, but mine is not. Can someone verify my thought process here and let me know if what I am wanting to do is feasible? Also please point out any caveats with this process that I failed to realize. I understand that I will also need to add an additional data plan to our bill for each smart phone we activate. Perhaps this R2D2 phone will still be around in March and I should just wait to upgrade both at the same time??

The primary line is eligible at 12 months fro an annual upgrade - you can get a new phone at the two yr contract price, a $20 upgrade fee, and no NE@ discount is given, and the primary line's contract is extended two years.

It is a little confusing to me that her phone is upgradeable now, but mine is not. As explained above, the primary line is eligible for an ANNUAL upgrade, if the base plan is $49.99 or more - there is an additional $20 fee and the NE2 discount is forfeited till the next go round.

• Unsure about my data plan allowance

I got my iPhone 5 this past December. My father is cheap as always and told me I would be receiving a minimal 300 MB of data. We are on the Nationwide Family SharePlan 700 plan and up until now I've been under the impression that I have 300 MB of data. However, I checked on the My Verizon app online and on my phone and it says that I have 2 GB of data. I've always finished the months with around 250 MB of data used and have never received an alert text saying I've gone over 50%, 75%, etc. of my data. Could the service be glitching, or do I actually have 2 GB of data and my father is unaware? This would be very helpful, because I've gone over 300 MB of data this month.
Thanks.

Hi BTrisc,
Thanks for reaching out to us about your data plan. I see you have the iPhone 5 that is a great device. Using under 250MB is amazing. I cannot confirm what plan you are on without looking at your account. If you did check your data on the app and it specified 2GB than this is most likely what you have. Especially, if you have never received the alerts than that would say that you do have 2GB. Again, I cannot confirm this since I am not looking at your account. In the meantime, I do recommend using wi fi as much as possible to avoid data overage. I hope this helps.

• When transferring my upgrade Vz added Data Bundle to my basic phone

I have Nationwide Family plan with 4 dumb phones and one iPhone where my son pays his $30 per month data. I transferred my upgrade (LG Octane) so he could buy the new iPhone which all went well except that my bill now shows "2GB Data Bundle with Email" added to my phone for $30. Makes no sense that I would need that plan with my basic phone. What's up?

Even though your transferred the upgrade the upgrade counts against your line. Your line gets the contract extension. Technically your line upgraded to a smartphone and Verizon has new policy where you must keep data on a line for 2 years even if you switch that line back to a basic phone. They did this because unlimited data customers who weren't entitled to upgrades were using a loophole and upgrading basic lines to smartphones then swapping phones and cancelling the data and putting the basic phone back on that line in order to get an upgrade they weren't entitled to. Unfortunately people like you get caught in the middle because unlimited data customers were abusing the system. It stinks but you're stuck paying that $30 for the next 2 years.

• Error while loading the data in DSO (Bi 7.0)

Hi Friends,
I am working on BI 7.0 , I had run a DTP to load the data in DSO from another DSO.but there was some error in tranformation because of which DTP request didnt terminate with either green or red . then I fixed the bug in TRX and rerun the request .Now there are two requests. Now i deliberately changed the QM Light of the earlier request to Red so that I could run another request. The other DTP success fully loaded the data in Activation Que of DSO . But when I tried to Activate the second request I got a message that request can not be activated because earlier request is yet to be activated.
now I tried to delete the earlier request .Neither its getting deleted nor am I able to change the QM Light to Green .
What should I do to activate the Successful request to load the data in DSO.
puzzeled !

Hi,
I have a similar situation....
I load data from DSO 1 to DSO2....i run the DTP and look at the monitor after its green when i go to manage and activate i am seeing two requests instead of 1...i am not sure why...Can you guys tell me if there is any setting that needs to be taken care of.

• End of contract is near, what happens to my unlimited data plan

For past years I have upgraded my phone and signed a new contract, however since the last time I agreed to a contract Verizon did away with upgrading and keeping your unlimited data plan, so need-less-to-say I haven't upgraded. I have the Nation wide 1400 friends & family plain with unlimited data, My family plan also has 2 other users, all with different end dates, however my line is the one with unlimited data, and my contract ends soon. my question is; will I lose my unlimited data at the end of my contract? or will I keep it so long as I don't sign a new contract, or can I agree to another term without upgrading.

I can understand your concern dibeck but our current plans can also work for your needs. You can perform a pricing plan analysis online via MY verizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc to check wich one of o ur shared data plans would be perfect for your family. Check ou t the plans here http://vz.to/1lwOwRQ . You can also keep your unlimited data by ying a phone at full retail.

• Strange issue in Family dependents details

We are implementing ESS/MSS for India country grouping.
ESS Personnel Information -->>> Family dependents service allows the employee to add new spouse at anytime. It means the New Spouse button is always available in WDJ screen even though a spouse already been added.
Ideally, New spouse button has to be disabled. I have checked the WD iview personalization and no luck found. These buttons come from spro customization settings in ECC backend.
I have checked -
>>>> Determine Active Subtypes and Make Settings. The check box "New Button Always Available on overview" is a mandatory field and it a time constraint value 2.
Furthermore, I have checked "Determine Active Subtypes and Make Settings" for Infotype 0021 and subtype 1 with Use case "B2" (button shouldn't be available once an infotype record exists).
Anyone has gone through this problem ? How to disable the button ? Any inputs in this regards would be greatly help.
Regards,
Anil Kumar

Please do not give answers just for sake of getting points.
As I already mentioned, we are implementing ESS/MSS for India country grouping and you are telling to give the following entries
08 0021 1 A1
08 0021 2 B3
in View V_T7XSSPERSUBTYP where 08 stands for United Kingdom. Now, why is the entry for 08 (UK) required here ?
By the way, the issue has been resolved. It was related to time constraint issue and the solution is in spro customization itselfs.
Personnel Management --->>> Personnel Administration -->> Personal data --->>> Family --->>> Personal data --->> Define family types.
Just unchecked the required option here.
Thanks for your time.

• Delta Que / v1 update / v3?

Hi All!
I have a very basic question ( according to u),
As per Roberto weblog, in direct delta, for each document posting the data is directly transferred into Delta Que(RSA7) with in V1 Update.
what is V1?
Both statistic update and document update are carried out at the same time.
In direct delta, there is no need to schedule a job inorder to transfer the data to delta Que.
My Question is that,
1) As the doucument is directly transferred into the delta Que, whether ( why) we have to maintain Job contorl in LBWE ?
2) Second Question
As with in V1 Update ,data is transferred to delta que
How can we say in common that delta method is V3 in LO?
Regards
Durai

Hi ajay
Glad to see u in forum.
Just Mow I have read your previous thread.
Every one says that delta mecanism is V3 in LO. Is it correct?
If correct, where V3 Happens in Direct delta?
As per your previous thread, whenever the Document changes occur, or is posted(created), it is stored in underlying database table (This is V1).
Then it comes to Staistisc table (This is V2).
Whether application table is Underlying database table or Statistic table?
If its application table, How the data comes to Delta Que with in V1 ?
