Data on HH2 Achieving Stable Line Rate & Switching...

In the thread "Re: Is HomeHub designed to be on all the time? No off switch?" the question was raised about properly switching off the router at the mains.   I have collected data over the past few weeks which may give some guidance on this action, plus the changes as my line stabilises.
I pointed out in this thread that  when entering the HH through the browser the Home Page opens by default.   On this page there is a Connect/Disconnect button as the first listed item, whether this is also available on the HH type A or HH3 I don't know, mine id Type B.   There are a few mentions of this button from a Forum search, but no clear reason for its function (not in the User Manual).    I have found it in, for example, the threads,   "Home Hub 2.0 wireless internet connection issues" in June 2010 & a clear mention by geoff93 in thread "Re: Sudden Drop In Speed (Again)" 1 Mar 2011; "Re: Broadband speed dropped from 10Mb to 250K overnight" on 24 Feb 2011.
In many threads the point is made that the HH should be left on continuously to keep the line stable as the DSLAM in the exchange checks the line at frequent intervals (about every 7-8 sec it seems on my line).   I assume that using this Disconnect Button provides a logical warning to the exchange circuits that the line has deliberately been removed -  it would be nice if the Forum Moderators could confirm if this function is in the design specification of the software and how the exchange system is expected to respond.
Following the four visits by OpenReach in Feb/Mar to sort my line arranged by the Forum Moderators (they were always most helpful when contacted) I left the HH on continuously from 21 Mar until 13 May with the following results which may be of interest

It seems that the line took 16 days (to 5 April) to stabilise at 14,336/1,078.   The following 15 days after 13 May logically disconnecting/connecting seems not to disturb the line rate.   However, I still get random disconnects/resets and  also occasional disconnects when accessing the HH2.
The HH2 is running software 4.7.5.1.83.3.18, when I received it back in October it had ver ...83.3.5.  The line distance to the Crowthorne exchange is ca 1000m.

  • Very slow download speed though modem line rate no...

    Hi
I recently noticed (today, 31st December) that our download speed had dropped very low, to approx 0.5Mbps. The upload speed is normal, approx 1Mbps. The modem line rate is however normal (8Mbps dowm, 1Mbps up). I have checked the download speed using http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/. I am at postcode SK237FN and have had consistently reliable download speeds for several years, 5-7Mbps.
    Please help!
I already tried rebooting my router but this has not improved matters.
    Thanks...

  • Line rate always changing / Hub resetting itself

    Hello
For the past 6 or 7 months we have seen dramatic fluctuations in our Broadband download speed. This change always comes about as a result of our our Home Hub 4 seemingly restting itself: we have normal internet use with a blue light on, but then the Hub will flash orange for a while and come back with a blue light. There is no pattern regarding the time of day; it's completely random.
I've been informed that a resetting connection will only inform the exchange that there is a problem, thus prompting the "IP Profile to be reduced" to make things stable. Surely then this isn't supposed to be happening?
There was a time when we would always get around 2.7 - 3.3 Mbps line rate, which is the best we could expect for our area and the distance from the exchange. The download speeds associated with that were good enough for us, but we can never seem to get that now.
The Event Log will report the process described above as: 'Failed to Resolve Host' and, once the connection is re-established, the line rate will usually be lower than it was before. As an example, a line rate of approx 2.3 Mbps will drop to about 1.3 Mbps. Sometimes this process will return a slightly higher line rate!
This happens approximately once every day, but the line rate is never the decent 3 Mbps we used to get...Sometimes I get lucky by manually resetting the Hub and the line rate will be 2.5 Mbps...but it isn't long before it resets itself and, again, we have about 1.2 Mbps.
    Current event log:
    12:24:27, 18 Sep.
( 97.940000) DSL noise margin: 5.90 dB upstream, 6.00 dB downstream
    12:24:26, 18 Sep.
( 96.910000) DSL line rate: 934 Kbps upstream, 1315 Kbps downstream
    12:24:11, 18 Sep.
( 81.000000) CWMP: session closed due to error: Could not resolve host
In the last month there was a small amount of noise on the telephone line (we were looking into it but it appears to have gone), but this line rate fluctuation started long before then anyway. Phone call with the Telephone department team told me there appears to be no problem with the line. We have also had 3 different Hubs during that time, so it isn't a Hub issue. Filters in place and Master Socket is in use. Using the test socket yeilds same problems.
Further questions if anyone is able to answer them:
Besides interference from noise, is there a good reason for the Hub to go through this process and force lower speeds upon us? Is the exchange throttling us or something?
For a period last year we were getting 380 kB/s in a speed test and that was fine to use because it matches the line capabilities that we have always been quoted. I don't understand why we can't have a similar speed now. We don't even get > 300kB/s during off peak times. Is it normal for our DL speed to now be always be about 180 kB/s? We were told during our recent re-contract that there is no longer any capping.

presumbly the previous stats were from the test socket as new stats are just the same

  • DSL Line Rate Q

just wondering what determines your line rate, ive come from having Virgin Media fibre optic, i know very little about ADSL
    my connection is currently:
DSL line rate: 912 Kbps upstream, 8375 Kbps downstream
DSL noise margin: 5.90 dB upstream, 6.10 dB downstream
is it ever likely to change ?

  • Line rate is higher than attainable rate!

I've been on Infinity for 3 or 4 months now and have had consistently a BT profile of 72.3 to 72.86Mbps, the changes occuring after modem resets or power cycles. Attainable rate (via the standard modem hack) has been 75272 to 76184kbps. Line rate has been 500 to 900 kbps below the attainable rate.
A few days ago we had a major power cut in the local area including here, lasting for several hours and afterwards, everything worked as normal. Just now I decided to check my BT profile and modem stats, just out of interest, as you do. The results are interesting - my profile has gone up to 75.73/20.00 and the modem stats are what I thought was impossible - line rate is much higher than the attainable rate! Stats are below.
Line is stable and needless to say I am delighted - I am now getting speedtest d/l results 3Mbps higher than ever before (74Mbps), but can anyone explain how line rate can be above attainable rate?

You must have a good line and probably have the cabinet in your front room!
Who knows! I wouldn't say it would be impossible to hit pass your attainable rate, i would only take these as estimates as much as everything else.
It was like when i was on copper, thinking my line could only sync at 4MB, but constantly synced at around 6.5-7MB which was good for me! lol!

  • WS-X6704-10GE at line rate ?

    Hi..
Any idea if the 4 port 10GE card WS-X6704-10GE runs at line rate for each port ? Can we get approx 40Gbps throughput out of this card ?
    Eng Wee

    Hi Eng wee,
The 4 port 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface module is CEF720 based and communicate using 40-Gbps connections to the integrated 720-Gbps switch fabric of the Supervisor Engine 720.

  • Decent line rate, throughput not consistent!

    Hi folks,
On Wednesday I upgraded to the Broadband unlimited package, and with that got a Homehub 4.
Router setup went fine and broadband connected.
It has synced at a good rate but when conducting speed tests, the results range from a download of 15mb right down to the lowest Ive seen of 0.2mb. The results can be quite different from two tests done straight after eachother. There is no consistency and seems to be jumping all over the place.
The upload results remain around the 1mb mark.
My previous hub was a homehub 1 and although the last download sync I remember was 3.2mb, it was at least steady and I had no problems with it, besides the occasional reboot required.
    Sync stats below:
    Connection time:

  • Delivery date determination in the schedule lines

    Hi,
I have a question on the delivery date determination in the schedule lines of the sales order. If the goods issue date in the schedule line has been determined as 17th Aug 2009, and the transit time is 3 days. What should be the delivery date that will be proposed? Should it be 10 + 3 equal 20th Aug 2009, or it will be 21st Aug, which is the the following day of 10 + 3 ? I simulated in the sales order and it gave me 21st, my understanding was it should be just 17 + 3 = 20th Aug.
hope anyone can shed some light on the above. TQ
    krt

    Hi ,
This is what F1 help says
Rounding-up period for delivery scheduling (in days)
The amount of time that the system automatically adds as a safety margin
to the estimated time required for processing a delivery.
    Use
The system adds the rounding-up margin to the time estimates for a
delivery, regardless of whether the system
o   Calculates the times from data in the master records, or
o   Simply uses the default times that apply to the relevant shipping
            point.
This is F1 Help of rounding days and not my words..... you can also check in OVXD t-code.
    Thanks,

  • How to Restrict Single Delivery Date for PO with Multiple Line Items

    Dear Experts,
How to Restrict Single Delivery Date for PO with Multiple Line Items.
System needs to through Error Message if User Inputs Different Delivery Dates for PO with Multiple Line Items in ME21N Tcode.
Can we achive this by Some Enhancement in SAP or Not ???
If so how to do it.
    Any Inputs is highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Selvakumar. M

    Hi Selvakumar,
we can resrict the PO to have a single delivery date in all the line items by means of giving a error message or overwiting the delivery date keyed/determined in the line item.
You can use the BADI -> ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. In which you need to implement the method PROCESS_SCHEDULE.
(for technical aid - This method will be called for each and every PO line item, From the imporing parameter im_schedule we can get all the details of current PO line, even we can change the data in the current PO line. )
    Regards,
    Madhu.

  • Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding ORA-01403: no data found ORA-06512: at line 1

    Dear Legends,
My requirement is to call store procedure from BPEL. So for I created a BPEL with 2 assign activity and 1 Invoke activity to Invoke the DB adapter. After Deploying I tested the process but it shows the following error:
<bpelFault><faultType>0</faultType><bindingFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension"><part name="summary"><summary>Exception occured when binding was invoked.
Exception occured during invocation of JCA binding: "JCA Binding execute of Reference operation 'DB_SBL_SPROCS1' failed due to: Interaction processing error.

The invoked JCA adapter raised a resource exception.

What does the above error says?
    1. Whether concern Grant or Execute Privileges is not properly provided to the user?
    2. Is there any Dangling Privileges are prevailing?
    3. Is that the Store Procedure to be Handled with an Error Handling by means of Exception?
    4. Is that I have been giving wrong test data?
    5. Is that No data being existing in the Procedure?
    6. Is that anything related to XA and NON-XA Data Source?
Any kind of help would be much appreciated. Thanks in Advance.
    Thanks,
    Karthik

Can you check the following ?
    a. Hopefully the when you execute the procedure using sql tool it works fine and returns data.
    b. Is there any input parameter available for procedure ?
    c. IF yes, is the parameter is mapped with the procedure parameter and populated with value before calling the procedure ?
    d. In the audit trial, you can see from the invoke activity to see whether the parameter is populated with value or not ?
    e. Check the input parameter by executing the procedure with sql tool to see whether this request is receiving any data in return or not ?
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Cisco 878 GSHDSL line rate

I have had a problem recently with an 878 using SDSL.
I recently lost connection to the device after a thunderstorm and assumed either a tail problem or a blown modem.
After several tests by BT the line passed as clear and after changing the 878, there was still no connection.
Reviewing my RANCID configs for the past 6 months shows that the config on the Controller DSL 0 changed over time. I originally set the line rate to auto, which was lated changed to hard code 2304k. This I have no problem with....unfortunately thats not the end of it.
The latest config (which was applied to the new router) shows the line rate at 1152k. When I double checked that yesterday, it had changed to 576k. Now, there has been no outside intervention, only I have access. The logs show nothing to prove that anything changed.
I have fixed the issue by resetting the line rate to auto, but what I need to know or understand is how has this changed without my intervention. This is not a negotiated rate as far as I was aware.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks

The only thing that I can think of is a software glitch. I cannot compare the startup config but considering the original router was rebooted several times and the line rate came back as 1152, I must assume that the startup had been altered as well.
I obviously need to find a cause for this for 2 reasons.
1/ I need to write a report on this
2/ To stop me from going mad
    Cheers

  • How to purge data cache table using command line

    Hi:
Is there a way to purge the data cache table using command line?
    thanks!

    Thanks, Mike.
I'm thinking about the ldconsole provided with ALDSP.
The ldconsole has a link for purging the cache. Is there anything I can leverage from there? Is it a JMX component that I can call?

  • Where we can see  receipt date with reference to Schedule lines in SA

    Hi,
where we can see  receipt date with reference to Schedule lines( not with reference to Items) in Schedule Agreement
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Kapil.

Table EKET is schedule line table and it consists only the Scheduled and statistical delivery dates, the Open and GR Qty but not the receipt date against the schedule lines.  The receipt dates are stored in the EKBE (History per Purchasing Document) tables but this dates are stored against the Purchase doc item number but not the schedule line no.
System generally fills the scedule lines in the chronological orders based on the GR qty.

I had the galaxy 3 with no wifi issues. I recently obtained the droid maxx. it says that I am connected but over the past two months I've gone over data!  I have two lines , we checked the numbers in "my verizon" and it pretty much validated our suspicions! it's this phone. Is there something I should check? It says connected to wifi, wifi is fine.....confused.

Kimberly1966 we'll solve this mystery and put an end to the overage! Do you disable data when connected to Wi Fi? If not, I would recommend doing so to prevent accidental usage by http://vz.to/V4epNo
