Is anyone else in the DC area experiencing a data outage?

i just got off the phone with verizon and the entire lte network is down.  they have no time frame, but folks just remember its the nations most reliable network....lmao

  • Widespread AT&T data outage - September 3rd, 2008

    There are multiple reports of a widespread AT&T data outage affecting both 3G and EDGE networks. Phones show as connected to 3G or EDGE, but cannot access data. Voice, visual voicemail, and SMS are unaffected.
    Reports so far from Boston, DC, Chicago, St. Louis, etc., but given the time difference it's possible that other parts of the country are affected as well. A call to AT&T support confirmed the outage as 'affecting many cities'. A few reports in the Apple Discussions so far, more on AT&T's forum, and at least one blogger's confirmation picked up by Google.

    The last major outage (February, 2008) lasted approximately 9 hours.

    I live just outside DC and work in town. Funny I got a different answer. I just got off the phone with AT&T and they told me that there is a data service problem with these phones. He made it sound like it was just affecting the Iphone. I just got my new 3g last week and it was working beautifully until last night. This morning I couldn't even get data through the wifi at Starbucks. The AT&T person told me that it affects the wifi as well. Is that correct? Don't understand why I can't use the wifi if the 3g is down. Are they connected somehow?
    I sure hope this comes back soon! The whole reason I bought the phone was for the data service.

  • Western Wisconsin 4G phone data outage

    Eau Claire, Wisconsin data outage. I use a 4G Razr in a 3G area. Last night, about 8 PM, 3G data was no longer available. At 10 PM I called Verizon and they said that they have had problems from the beginning of the week regarding data and 4G phones, even in a 3G area. It is now 8 AM, 11/18, twelve hours after my data outage began, and I am still zero G. The 3G Blackberries in my company have experienced no data interruption. As the Verizon rep said, the problem is with 4G phones.

    It has been up/down/up/down since at least 3:30pm Central Time. I didn't notice when it exactly started because I was on WiFi at home most of the day. Turned off WiFi when I left the house and noticed no network at all.
    Sucks that it takes out 4g phones, even in 3g mode. My wife's 3g only phone was not affected.
    On the bright side, no more threat of $2 'convenience fee'

    I can not connect to the internet or access my yahoo email. No EDGE or 3G. Ugh!!! Is there an outage?

    AT&T Business Services just confirmed to me that they are experiencing a nationwide data outage (affecting 48 states).

  • Another AT&T data outage in San Diego

    Absolutely no data for two hours now. Called AT&T support and "they're working on it". Anybody else affected.

    Today it is the Northern Virginia Area, no phone & only poor data. AT&T confirmed problems.... going on for about 4 hours now.

  • Data Service Outage?

    We are not receiving our emails on our Blackberries. We have a Bold & a Curve on Sprint's network. Everything worked fine on Sunday, however yesterday & today we are not getting emails from our company email accounts, the yahoo emails work fine and we are still receiving the emails on our computers. We have spent the last 2 days, on the phone with Sprint, at a Sprint store and on the phone with Go Daddy. No one can figure out what happened. Any ideas? Any reports of service outages?

    If you are receiving one email account (Yahoo) but not another, then it is not a Sprint nor BlackBerry data outage.
    So, it's not a service outage, or you would receive and send NO emails.
    Are you on a corporate BES enterprise account, or is this company email basic BIS accounts?
    Here are some tips, I would suggest trying:
    On your BlackBerry device, go to:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site:
    From your handheld device:   http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
    Go to the Personal Email Set Up icon and log in. Then under Help!, select Service Books, then select Send service Books.
    From your desktop PC:  http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
    North American Carriers - scroll down to select your carrier
    WorldWide Carriers - Find your carrier on the list
    3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot. This reboot, even if you have already done this, is often needed to install the service books.

  • Data settings changing on their own and losing connection

    Can someone tell me why when on PAYG with the payandgo.o2.co.uk setting does it change back on it's own to idata.o2.co.uk and then my internet connection is lost and when I try and change it back to payandgo.o2.co.uk half to time it doesn't stick, so I have to do it again and again till it does, and then it'll last a day or two and change back again losing my connection again, this is driving me nuts.

    I've been on Pay As You Go from the start so it's not a contract SIM but there was a little card in with SIM when I bought the phone that said to change the setting to idata as O2 had just changed it, so I did that, but since the data outages that O2 had a couple of months ago that setting didn't work so looking for a solution I found out about changing it to payandgo and that worked but keeps changing back.
    Maybe it thinks that idata is what it should be, but I don't even have to sync the phone to iTunes for the setting to change back to idata, its like O2 are sending a signal to the phone to change it back or something or maybe the idata is set on the SIM and the Phone checks that from time to time and overwrites the way it is in the Cellular Data Network settings screen, very odd and infuriating either way.
    There has to be a way to fix this, anyone have a clue?

  • Here we go again- 3g AND Edge data problems - NYC area

    Just great.... been having great 3G data speeds for the past several weeks (after the data outage) and since last night (10/12) I cannot get a page to load. Sometimes it doesn't load at all, other times it takes about 5 minutes. What the heck is going on? I am in Woodside, Queens. I tried restarting/Restoring/etc...all that usual good stuff. Also, Edge seems to be affected as well. Anyone else having the same problems?
    By the way- Same problem on my wife's 3G phone.

    Symptoms for a week and a half:
    -Full 3g signal but zero data throughput. I'll try to visit a page and there's zero progress for a few minutes so I give up.
    -Dropped calls, sometimes 5+ within a minute while you're helplessly trying to redial someone.
    I've done multiple soft-reset efforts such as 3G off/on, airplane mode on/off, rebooting, etc. to no avail. Nothing seems to help so I'm convinced it's ATT and their network.
    I live near Times Square and work in SoHo. 5 full bars of 3g everywhere I go and the sad thing is... I've resorted to using edge only since the 3G isn't functional.
    So yea... right now I paid a pretty penny to upgrade my 1st gen iPhone to essentially have GPS, a flush headphone jack and slightly improved speakers.

  • No data whatsoever in Macon, GA

    For the second time this month, I have completely lost all data connectivity on my Droid Razr in Macon, GA.  I do not get 4G LTE down here, but right now I have nothing at all.  The last time I lost all data connectivity I just waited it out and let it resolve itself, but twice in the same month in an area that doesn't even have LTE is simply unacceptable.  This is not an LTE outage, it is a total data outage.  I have restarted, pulled the SIM card, switched from LTE/CDMA to CDMA only, etc.  Nothing has worked.  Anyone can look on these forums and find that many other owners of 4G phones have had the same issue, so I am sure that it's not just my phone.  Get on this Verizon, or you are losing this customer.

    I can understand not having any data connection being a bit frustrating.  I don't see any network opportunities at this time in Macon, GA.  Macon does not currently have LTE coverage, but you definitley should be receiving 3G data.  You attempted great troubleshooting steps and I would like to suggest another step to attempt.  Please try holding the volume down key and pressing the power key until the device resets. (Will not erase any data)  Once the device resets please observe your signal and advise if this was successful for you.  Thank you.

  • How can I find out info on a possible mobile internet outage?

    I have a verizon MIFI 2200 mobile internet device. I have had internet connection issues with it since yesterday (Sunday afternoon).  Desktop computer, IPOD touch, & my laptop all show that they are connected to the mifi.  Internet signal strength is good, shows at least 3 bars.  But we cannot connect to the internet, the page will not load.  Called tech support yesterday.  They ran all basic diagnostics on my laptop settings, and no problems were found.  One support guy said that he saw "tickets" on outage issues, but he could not see where those issues were. 
    After 2 hrs on the phone with tech support and finding no solution, we went to the Verizon store.  We decided to go ahead & upgrade to a jetpack mobile device since our unit is 2 yrs old.  While the sales lady was setting up our new unit, she also had the same connection problem.  We also heard other customers in the background with the similar issue.  I can't find out any other info on this.  Nobody seems to know that there is an outage problem, BUT THERE IS AN OUTAGE PROBLEM!  Can someone please help me?  All I want to know is, "Is there an outage problem with Mobile internet/over the air (satellite) in the middle Tenneessee area & when will it be fixed?"

    Yes, there is an issue.  Like you, I've had issues and finally (after 2 tries) got through (after a ridiculous wait time) to tech support.  They said that there is a mobile data outage resulting from the storms this past weekend. 
    As typical, Verizon has balked at being more proactive and providing outage notifications but instead would prefer to frustrate customers by forcing them to call in, consuming ridiculous amounts of support representative time, and further lowering customer satisfaction. 
    Verizon remains a "bi-polar" organization, with some great technology (albeit also with some very poor stuff as well such as the infamous 4150L) but with some of the absolute worst customer service that has ever existed on this planet.

  • Cannot connect to data network. Please help.

    This just started yesterday. I can't get any data unless I use wifi. I tried restettin the network settings and restarting but I still get the error message. No app store, no email, nada. Is is a local issue (I'm in New Orleans)? What else can I try?

    There was an AT&T data outage yesterday that affected all of the southeastern region of the US. Not sure if it has been resolved.

    hey couldn't find a general network service area of the forum to post this. so sorry if it doesn't belong here. but some of my friends( not including me) are experiencing a  full data outage since about midnight our time. They're located around the Lewis Center area. anyone else having this issue?

    I can make calls and check voicemail but when i try to acces the web or check email it says "can not activate cellular data network". i live in Union, NJ. anyone who can offer any help or any way that i can check if there is a data outage. please any help would be much appreciated!

    im in boston, same trouble here, must be a north east USA thing...i work for verizon for repair(regular lines) and i just got a misdirected call for verizon wireless complaining about the same thing...something clearly is affecting all data service for cell companies

  • 3G Outage in Houston

    Did anyone in Houston (or anywhere else) experience an 3g data outage this morning around 8:00 AM (CST)? I lost all data for nearly half-an-hour. Power cycled my phone three times during that period and after the third time, reconnected to the data network. I was in the clear the whole time i was troubleshooting this, but never called Verizon customer service. Service was restored after the third restart at around 8:30 AM (CST) this morning. Just wondered if anyone else out there experienced this.
