Data Ownership for Activity

Hi All,
I need to filter records according to user login (OCLG - UserSign) for "Activity" document (within Business Partners module). Have tried to use Data Ownership Exceptions - Excluded Forms, but try with no luck.
May I know anyone use this before? Or any cutomization needed-SDK/Query + Formatted Search?

This is a missing functionality.
Ownership only can be applied on sales or purchasing documents and sales opportunities in the header.

The checkbox labeled Owner Filtering Active is a global flag to activate or deactivate data ownership authorizations for the entire company. Once this is activated, for all sales or purchasing documents and sales opportunities, access will be granted only if the user has a relationship to the owner and has the permission for that relationship either as Read Only or Full. In the case that a document or sales opportunity has no owner, then any user can access it as if no data ownership is in place. Any user can assign an owner to a document or sales opportunity that does not have an owner. Once an owner is assigned, only the owneru2019s manager or a superuser can change the owner.
Excluded Forms Tab
For each selected document, choose one of the filtering options:
· No filtering: Data ownership is not active for this specific form irrespective of the owner fields at the header or line or stage.
· By Header Owner Only: The document or sales opportunity is visible to the owner of the document and to all those users that have a defined relationship to the owner of the header and have the requisite permission for the specific relationship. The owner of any of the lines or stages will have no affect on providing access to the document or sales opportunity

Data Ownership for Reports - ex Customer ageing

When we run Customer Ageing. The Ageing details for the customer belonging to the Sales employee to be shown.
Currently shows all the customers.
Ex - Customer 1,2,3 belong to Sales employee A
Customer 4,5,6 belong to Sales Employee B
Now when I run Customer ageing, Sales Employee A should see only the Ageing report for Customer 1,2,3
and Sales Employee B should see the ageing report for Customer 4,5,6.
Is this possible to establish through Data Ownership.

I believe it may not be achievable just by built-in data ownership authorization. That is because authorization mostly only block updating. You probably need SDK to get solution.

Data Ownership - Problem

Hi all,
I am facing one problem since long.
We have used Data Ownership for all our users.
I have one user STORES-1 who is authorised to create new Business Partners. We have given full authorisation to create new Business Partner and also given full rights from Data Ownership too.
Then I have checked the Data filteration option on Data Ownership exception.
Now the user STORES-1 try to add new BP and going to select Sales Employee, SBO Gives error "You are not authorised to change Sales Employee"
Can any body guide me that which setting is left or not done by me.

I will try this on Test server again. I have already tried this PL27.
Did u know there is one more prob in SAP B1 2005B, when I am upgrade from PL 25 to PL27 on my TEST Server, XL Reports are not genereted, all UDFs were changed so i have not upgrade to PL27.

Data Slice dynamic activation and deactivation for a set of users

Hi Experts,
                 We have requirement to manually enter the data into RTC using IP.
There are 2 sets of users --> Power Users and Normal Users.
We need to allow the normal users to enter the data only from 1st to 5 th working day of every month.
Power Users should have authorization to edit and enter the data at any time.
Can any one suggest how to set the dataslice using code.

Please note that update of RSPLS_DS table do not affects at RUNTIME.
If you want to create dataslice that activated and deactivated within sequence run you should do the next:
1. Create exit variable that return you all working days EXCEPT 1 to 5 of each month.
2. Create dataslice in modeler on this characteristic with restriction by this exit variable.
3. This dataslice should be based on ABAP class as described [here|https://www.box.net/shared/zhirrvk859].
4. In mydataslice method enter following code (I assume you have any DSO with definition whether user is power user or not. Lets say DSO has next structure:
USER   | Z_IS_POWER   |
aaaa    | NO
bbbb    | YES
Enter the next code in mydataslice method:
SELECT Z_IS_POWER FROM YOURDSO INTO lv_POWER WHERE USER=sy-uname.
IF sy-subrc = 0. *This is SUPER USER. Allow locked data edition
e_noinput = rs_c_false.
ELSE. *This is regular user. Do not allo locked data edition
e_noinput = rs_c_true.
5. Create in modeler 2 planning sequences for activating and deactivation dataslice as described in document.
6. Each time you want to do something with locked data run first sequence for deactivation of dataslice. If super user will run it so dataslice will be deactivated, but if regular user - dataslice will lock the data.

Query on DNS setup for Active Directory for a new data center

I have third party DNS appliances providing DNS Service for Active Directory (Windows 2008 R2) and there are also secondary DNS servers, which are MS DNS server with a secondary zone configured, for redundancy. I have to setup a new data center
and move servers/services to this data center. In this scenario, can I install a new Microsoft DNS server with a secondary zone and use this as the primary DNS Server for all the member servers at this new location ? I am aware that this new DNS server will
not be able to make any updates to the secondary zone and for that purpose, is there anyway to redirect such requests to the DNS appliances in my current data center across the WAN ? I am trying to avoid purchasing a new DNS appliance for the new data center
and want to know what are the alternatives I have.

im not entirely sure by your setup, as normally you would use AD integrated zones for DNS in an AD environment - although there are other options as you have already setup.
the fact the zone is a secondary zone in DNS server terms doesn't mean you can't point your clients to it as their primary dns server. They will quite happily resolve names using a secondary server.
so as long as your dns devices are correctly setup to support the additional secondary zone I see no reason why you couldn't do this.

i hv maintained data in kp26

my prob. started during cost cal. in prod. order first error was version 0 not maintained for fiscal year 2007, THEN i maintained it in the path as told by you T code OKEQ.
but after that error changed to CONTROL DATA FOR ACTIVITY TYPE NOT MAINTAINED ( 1000/4230/1420)
i maintained data in kp26, but the error is still coming
pl. suggest some solution as i am not able to proceed further.

Is there table/Report history including timestamp & date for activity type created?

Hi Guys
I have an audit request for activity type that should include Date of creation/change and timestamp for them, but I don´t know if there is a table or report
that I should run.
Actually in KP26 in section line item shown the dates but by activity type, I expect to run in mass
I really appreciate if someone have suggestion or idea how is possible to get information with dates and timestamp

If not in standard, this can be achieved by customized field in the table. This is called Append Structure and you can add Z table.
Talk to an ABAP person. He can do it.

Solution
To obtain a good load performance for ODS objects, we recommend that you note the following:
1. Activating data in the ODS object
In the Implementation Guide in the BW Customizing, you can implement different settings under Business Information Warehouse -> General BW settings -> Settings for the ODS object that will improve performance when you activate data in the ODS object.
1. Creating SIDs
The creation of SIDs is time-consuming and may be avoided in the following cases:
a) You should not set the indicator for BEx Reporting if you are only using the ODS object as a data store.Otherwise, SIDs are created for all new characteristic values by setting this indicator.
b) If you are using line items (for example, document number, time stamp and so on) as characteristics in the ODS object, you should mark these as 'Attribute only' in the characteristics maintenance.
SIDs are created at the same time if parallel activation is activated (see above).They are then created using the same number of parallel processes as those set for the activation. However:if you specify a server group or a special server in the Customizing, these specifications only apply to activation and not the creation of SIDs.The creation of SIDs runs on the application server on which the batch job is also running.
1. DB partitioning on the table for active data (technical name:
The process of deleting data from the ODS object may be accelerated by partitioning on the database level.Select the characteristic after which you want deletion to occur as a partitioning criterion.For more details on partitioning database tables, see the database documentation (DBMS CD).Partitioning is supported with the following databases:Oracle, DB2/390, Informix.
1. Indexing
Selection criteria should be used for queries on ODS objects.The existing primary index is used if the key fields are specified.As a result, the characteristic that is accessed more frequently should be left justified.If the key fields are only partially specified in the selection criteria (recognizable in the SQL trace), the query runtime may be optimized by creating additional indexes.You can create these secondary indexes in the ODS object maintenance.
1. Loading unique data records
If you only load unique data records (that is, data records with a one-time key combination) into the ODS object, the load performance will improve if you set the 'Unique data record' indicator in the ODS object maintenance.

My Ipad's repeatedly asking for activation and can't be activate through cellular data, what could I do?

MY Ipad's repeatedly asking for activation, even though I activated 20 times, not kidding! And the worst is I can't activate it through cellular data, for no good reason. Yes, I checked the setting for the cellular data about itunes and so on. I also tried to reboot, to remove and put back the sim card. I also tried to send a request to apple support, but the f... button in the email sent doesn't work. I'm kind of ****** off, cause I couldn't use my ipad all the last evening till I get to a wifi zone... What the **** is going on with Apple? It's getting worst and worst... I have a ipad retina, not the last generation, but the one before... Not sure which number it is though.

I understand the question fully. Your issue is that the activation does not seem to be registering nor working properly (which is why you keep being asked to activate it). Maybe activating through Wi-Fi will activate the iPad properly since as you say yourself, "I can't activate the Ipad by cellular data." I don't think it would much more trouble to try it through Wi-Fi and could very well solve your issue.
A question does not come up though...which activation are you actually talking about? The initial activation of the iPad for use (when you are first setting up the device) or the activation for cellular data with the device's cellular data carrier for use on the device? My initial response was for the first scenario.

Data Ownership Authorization for JEs & Banking

Hello All,
Is it possible to have data ownership authorization for documents other than Sales & Purchase documents? For a company with multiple branches, we need to block access of Financial related information such as JE, Incoming & Outgoing payments, Deposits of one branch to the other. Can this be done?
Any help on this would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. The requirement is that a user from one branch should not be able to see what the other branch is doing. However, stock levels at all the branches should be visible to any branch.
Hence, similar to marketing documents, the display of Journal Entries, Vouchers, Posting Templates, Inventory Transactions, Banking transactions of any given branch should not be visible to other branches.
Can this be accomplished using Transaction notification stored procedure or by some other means? If yes, I would appreciate if you can throw some light on it.

Don't work, all iterator have ChaangeEventPolicy: default none.
And adfc-config.xml has ChaangeEventPolicy unchequed.
Another suggestion please. I need a solution so fast.

Looking for Active Data Service samples with RDBMS change notification fire

I am looking for samples/examples of Active Data Service when a server side event, like RDBMS change notification got triggered.
The ADS samples that I found so far are:

But these samples do not demonstrate how RDBMS change notification got triggered got triggered. The last two samples have a Runnable class that simulate the triggering, and the Twitter example is twitter stream notification.
Please shed some lights on Active Data Service with RDBMS change notification got triggered.
