Data packages drop to bottom of status window

Using BPC 5.1 SP03
Has anyone noticed after kicking off a data package via eData, the package's row entry in the eData status menu moves to the bottom of the list. There is never a start time---it never runs. I have to manually delete the item and run again.
Is this a bug?

Any tips on how to unearth "patch #4"? Does my SAP profile need to be configured for downloading patches? I've tried these:
Support Packages and Patches -> Entry by Application Group -> SAP Application Components -> SAP BUSINESS PLANNING AND CONS
Installations and Upgrades -> SAP Solution Extensions -> SAP Solutions for Performance Management -> SAP Business Planning and Consolidation ->* Release 5.0,* Release 5.1

Copy Data Package (Referencing Target Issue)

We are trying to run an allocation but on runtime the application doesn't recognize the target variable of the data package.
This is the Script Logic we are using:

When we run the Data Package, we receive a Succefull Status Message, but on the Log we can see that SAP BPC routine doesn't recognize our target. It understands that VERSAO_SET is the source of the Allocation, but it just don't read the target value of the prompt for wich variable we are using VERSAO_TO.

On this sample, "PTPL" is the version we've selected as source, and the target we've selected is "COM" but the variable can't read it.
Assuming that "_SET" is used to reference the first variable of the prompt, could you please clarify us regarding which tag should we use to reference the second variable of the prompt?

Hi,
As discussed by the experts earlier, the problem is getting the variable %VERSAO_TO%.
The variable %VERSAO_SET% is a dynamic variable used by BPC to get value from DM package. However, the other variable is not recognized by the system.

How can I create a status bar at the bottom of a window ?

I would like to create a status bar at the bottom of my main window similiar to "Internet explorer" has. I thought of using a tool bar but I can't see how to keep it positioned at the bottom of the window when the window is resizable. Any other ideas on how to do this the bar only needs to contain a small amout of text and maybe an icon or two.

CVI doesn't have a status bar control on UI element like the one available in Visual Studio++. The best way to replicate this is most like through a string control that is resized and positioned to remain at the bottom of the window and colored to look appropriately. I have also seen the combination of a decoration and a text message used.

Disk throughput drops when inserting data packages in write-optimized DSO

Hi all,
we are currently testing our new freshly installed SAN.
To see the performance gain in BI, I'm currently doing some test loads.
And during the monitoring of those loads, I noticed something I'd like someone to explain :-):
I execute a DTP from PSA to a write-optimized DSO.
The n° of parallel processes = 9
Update method = serial extraction, immediate parallel processing
N° of records transferred: +23.000.000
Ok, in the first phase (read the PSA) only one process is used (serial extraction). When I look in OS07, I notice we have very good throughput: +66.000 TransfKB/s. Very nice!
But as soon as BI starts inserting the data packages, and parallel processing kicks in, the throughput drops to 4K or something, and sometimes we get 20K at max. That's not too good.
We have a massive SAN , but the BI system does not seem to use it?
I was wondering why this is the case. I already toyed around with the package size, but it's always the same.
Also I noticed that the allocated processes don't seem to be active. I allocated 9 BTC processes to this load.
They are all used, but we only see 3 inserts at the same time, max. Also in the DTP-monitor, only 3 packages are processed at the same time. As it's a write-optimized DSO, RSODSO_SETTINGS does not apply I presume.
Any ideas?

can you pls try to give some filetr in DTP and try to pull the data.
I am not sure why first data package is taking long time and otehr data package is taking less time..
Do you have any start routine..If datapak = 1.. the do this logic..

Data Package 1 ( 0 Data Records ) at DTP with Status RED

Hi All,
For 0 records at DTP level it is showing Overall status & Technical status as RED and yellow beside Data Package 1 ( 0 Data Records ). There is no short dump no error message. At PSA level in status tab the message displayed is Status 8 which says no data on R3 side for this particular load. Help me out.

Hi,
if traffic light is not highlighted, you are probably running a delta.
You will have to set the traffic light in the according init.
(and run init again )
the setting in the delta will be the same.

Error In DTP:Data package 1 / XDateX XTimeX Status 'Processed with Errors'

Hi,
While Pushing the data from the DSO(0PP_DS01 - Planned/Actual Comparison Order/Material View) to Cube 0PP_C15 -( Backlogged Production Orders).
Getting the Error as : Data package 1 / XDateX XTimeX Status 'Processed with Errors'
When checked the Long text it shows the same text i.e.,Data package 1 / XDateX XTimeX Status 'Processed with Errors'
It does not show any further error message which i can point out.
If anyone has come across this error please provide the resolution.

Hi Advirao,
Are you using DTP to load the data to the target? Then you can enable error stack to collect the erroneos records.
Also check if you have activated the request in ur source DSO.

Work status in data package

Hi,
Assuming category, entity, time are my work status dimension, and i have decided to give a work status of 'approved' to category=budget, entity=sales, time=2015.total, hence category and entity are both base members while time is a parent member. However i DID NOT click on "include children in the data region". But later when i checked the work status of 'category=budget, entity=sales, time=2015.aug", it has turned into "approved". Don't i have to click on "include children in the data region" in order to flow this down to the children?
Regarding the work status checking in data packages, what does the following mean:
- Select whether to check work status settings when deleting comments?
- Select whether to check work status settings when importing data?
- Select whether to check work status settings when running logic?

You are absolutely right. Ideally, if "Should children of this data region be included?" is not selected, the children should not be included. However, I am not sure why this has happened in your case. Will definitely check on this and get back to you.
For your second query regarding the DM packages.
If you select Yes, work status settings will be copied with the data. If you select No, work status settings are not copied with the data.

I have challaged for deployment of microsoft critical patches to client machine with the help of sccm. I have been done all configuration formalities, although previous months has been deployed successfully with any difficulties.
But This month have some issue is being running, once i was deploying the packages of microsoft critical update but members of collection is showing unknow client tab which comes in monitoring--> deployments status windows. until deadline
to be completed. Nither provide any errors or completed status, progress status.
Please guide to resolve the issue,

I Tether my BlackBerry Data package to my laptop, of course using BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Now, I need to know if there is anyway/device can help me to use this internet to connect other Wi-Fi devices such as iPod Touch, Tablet PCs and etc..
I tried using Ad-Hoc but doesn’t connect to the iPod even after the iPod could find the connection and show me the tick, still cant open any webpage or Apple Store

Hi,
You must have the following profiles to BWREMOTE or ALEREMOTE users.So add it. Bcoz either of these two users will use in background to get extract teh data from ECC, so add tehse profiels in BW.
S_BI-WHM_RFC, S_BI-WHM_SPC, S_BI-WX_RFC
And also check the following things.
1.Connections from BW to ECC and ECC to BW in SM59
2.Check Port,Partner Profiles,and Message Types in WE20 in ECC & BW.
3.Check Dumps in ST22, and SM21.
4.If Idocs are stuck i.e see the OLTP Idoc numbers in RSMO Screen in (BW) detials tab see in bottom, you can see OLTP Idoc number and take the Idoc numbers and then goto to ECC see the status in WE05 or WE02, if error then check the log else goto to BD87 in ECC and give the Idoc numbers and execute manually and see in RSMO and refresh.
5.Check the LUWs struck in SM58,User Name = * (star) and run it and see Strucked LUWs and select our LUW and execute manually and see in RSMO in BW.

Error in Data package

Hi Everybody,
I got Error when i uploaded the text file from the data manager through datafiles, it shows the green mark in( package status window) and the data was entered into the SQL database but the problem is when i uploaded the data file next tim it is showing the error as below.
System is not available. The system is unavailable due to a Data Management system package in process. Package Name= Append into Fact Table UserID= SAP-CPMVM\CPMadmin.
Can any body help in this matter.

After the first run of package did you put the application available.
Append package is processing the cube and it is making the appset unavailable.
Please open admin module and put the appset available. Do upload and you will see you will not receive anymore the error.

Time Machine "Delete Backup" Status window

Hey all,
I am trying to delete an old backup inside Time Machine - did the old-fasioned way by "conjuring" the time machine with the stacked Finder windows on a starfield.
I arrowed up to the oldest backup and on the Action (with the gear symbol) dropdown I selected "Delete Backup". I get a confirmation prompt to "delete the selected backup" and I hit "Yes". Then.... where is the "Delete Backup" status window?
I know "delete backup" would take a while just like the backup process - however , at least we see the backup status on the Time Machine Preferences window. It seems like the Time Machine Preference window only shows the backup status. Could someone share how we could bring up the "Delete Backup" status window?

Unfortunately (or fortunately) the delete backup had completed by the time I saw this message
I went back to the Time Machine starfield windows and I no longer see the oldest backup (I noted down the date of the oldest backup).
Next time when I do another "delete backup" I'll look for that "spinning gear at the bottom right" as you indicated.   I assume that is a "hovering" spinning gear that is separate from the desktop dock?   If you have a screenshot (its ok if you don't) that would be great - thanks again for the reply. This will help anyone who might be looking for the same answer as I am.

The above code executes well with no problem at all!
As you can see the file to which i create and save and open my pdf report is
AssignedDialyzer.pdf.
The column headers of table in pdf report from c# windows forms using iTextSharp are
"Reprocessing Date","Patient Name","Dialyzer(Manufacturer,Size)","No.of Reuse","Verification" and
"DialyzerID".
However the problem i am facing is after execution and opening of document is my
column headers in table in pdf report from
c# and datas in it all appear in bold.
I have browsed through net regarding to solve this problem but with no success.
What i want is my pdf report from c# should be similar to following format which i was able to accomplish in vb6,adodb with MS access using iTextSharp.:

DTP does not fetch all records from Source, fetches only records in First Data Package.

I have a scenario in my BW system, where I pull data from a source using a Direct Access DTP. (Does not extract from PSA, extracts from Source)
The Source is a table from the Oracle DB and using a datasource and a Direct Access DTP, I pull data from this table into my BW Infocube.
The DTP's package size has been set to 100,000 and whenever this load is triggered, a lot of data records from the source table are fetched in various Data packages. This has been working fine and works fine now as well.
But, very rarely, the DTP fetches 100,000 records in the first data package and fails to pull the remaining data records from source.
It ends, with this message "No more data records found" even though we have records waiting to be pulled. This DTP in the process chain does not even fail and continues to the next step with a "Green" Status.
Have you faced a similar situation in any of your systems? What is the cause? How can this be fixed?

Thanks for your Suggestions.
Unfortunately, I would not be able to implement any of your suggestions because, I m not allowed to change the DTP Settings.
So, I m working on finding the root cause of this issue and came across a SAP Note - 1506944 - Only one package is always extracted during direct access , which says this is a Program Error.
Hence, i m checking more with SAP on this and will share their insights once i hear back from them.
