Data Plan Lost Need Help!!!
I activiated my iphone back on July 17th. I ported a number over from verizon and when that happened, my data plan disappeared. I called AT&T and they said I have to add it back to my plan by doing it through Itunes. They said just plug it in and sync it with Itunes and it will walk me through it. Well of course this did not happen. Can someone please help me out with this? Thanks!
No they're wrong. You need to have ATT do it. Call them back and ask to talk to someone who knows what they're doing.

Getting iphone, Questions about Family Plan. NEED HELP!
So right now I am on a family plan with my Dad and mother and we all have old phones that are basic basic. Our family plan has no Data plan at all, and in fact the plan is so old that it does not exist anymore. However I am moving away soon and I want to upgrade to an iphone. My question is this, If I upgrade, will I have to get my own plan? Or will I be able to just upgrade my phone and add the data charges just to my phone without making my parents upgrade their phones as well?
Any help will be awesome. I don't want to go into the store and talk to a sales person because they are motivated by commission so it would be in their best interest to upgrade all or them. So if I can go in there educated about the specifics of upgrading it would help.

In addition, please note that you will most likely be able to keep your current calling plan when you upgrade your line to an iPhone 4; however, if the iPhone 4 is not compatible with your current calling plan you will be notified when you process your order online if you login to your My Verizon account and you will be presented with your new calling plan options.
If your calling plan is compatible with the iPhone 4, you will be able to simple upgrade to the iPhone 4 device and add the data plan to your line. This does not affect your parents calling plan in any way. You can also separate your line from the family calling plan and have an individual calling plan for your line and have your parents lines stay with their family share plan.

I have been working on a Flash File with a lot of animations / symbols etc, and on thursday (during the Adobe Update), when I opened my file, all the symbol (movie clip) are empty, use count : 0.
The size of the file is still the same though, 35mo.
I had only this file, I really need help to repair it...

Were you trying to open the file in Flash CS6?
Did your original file had symbol names containing | : ; & * , etc.characters or leading/trailing spaces?

Curve 8530 - Replacement insurance plan issues, need help
I have had a Blackberry Curve contract for 2 years. When I signed on in Jan/09, I took the replacement insurance plan and have been paying $10/month for the “no phone regrets” replacement plan. The phone was replaced with an 8530 under insurance in July/10 because of tracker ball problems.
In November/10 The LCD of the new phone was slightly squeezed by the gear shift lever of our car. The LCD cover was not broken and there was no apparent symptoms for a few days; but eventually a strip of colour appeared on the LCD.
The phone was still fully functional and I resigned myself to living with the blemish for another year until the contract expired.
About 2 months later (Jan/11) the phone began shutting off during conversations. The battery takes a full charge and will do standby a full day without much draw down. I have tested the battery by keeping the LCD light on for a full ½ hour with only 10% battery consumed. But when I get a phone call, the unit shuts off, then automatically restarts and shows “battery to low for radio use”.
I have taken it to the supplier expecting coverage from the ongoing insurance program. However, they do not want to replace the phone because there is “physical damage” - namely the pixel blemish on the LCD.
The phone has never been abused or wet. The supplier claims that the pixel blemish represents physical damage even though the cover is not broken.
Is their position reasonable? Is the phone shutting down because of the pixels blemish; or is there another cause?

Given what you describe, my guess is that anything is possible here...but truly diagnosing across an internet-distance is not possible. Only with hands-on could someone perhaps come to a conclusion on the situation.
Regardless, it would be moot -- your insurance provider is 100% in control of determining if this is covered or not. You can dispute this ruling, of course -- but you do that with them. I suggest escalating with them via whatever appeals process they have. From your description, I think you have a good case -- not rock solid, but more along the lines of "it could go either way"...you need to find someone there who will come down your way rather than the ruling so far received. You can appeal to their sense of helping a longstanding good paying customer as well...if that does any good.

Streaming data to disk, need help reading data into Power Spectrum/Octave vi
I'm streaming data to disk in one loop, however once this finishes I'd like to read the data into power spectrum vi/Octave analysis vi in another loop. The data from the read vi is a string and power spectrum vi needs 1d waveform. Does anyone have experience with this process?
From your general description, I gather you are streaming to a text based file (comma or tab separated spreadsheet format) and would like to analyse this data with a power spectrum or octave analysis when you finish. Since you are streaming, I assume you have a lot of data. Do you have more than one channel?
In any case, you have two simple options (and lots of complex ones). You can either read the data back from disk and convert it to a 1D array (try the Read From Spreadsheet File.vi - will get a 2D array, take the first column or the column of your choice if you have more than one channel) or you can use the Spreadsheet String to Array primitive to create an array from your text data before you save it to disk.
If your data rate is slow enough, you can analyze as you acquire and store.
Taking your data as text is very inefficient. What you really want to do is read the data as binary, use that for your analysis, and use something like the Write to Spreadsheet File.vi to save text data to disk.

How to manual purge WRH$_SQL_PLAN old data from sysaux - Need help urgently

In our production environment, we're encoutner SYSAUX tablespace high usage, the sysaux occupant show that the WRH$_SQL_PLAN occupied more than 50GB,
we have logged a SR to oracle since last year Novemember, unfortunetly they're not able to provide any solution right now, they have asked us applied a lot of patch/workaround
but still we found that the WRH$_SQL_PLAN never get purged at all, the old snap id not purge since 2011 June till now, and oracle auto purge keep failure everytime.
Below is the top 5 occupant in SYSAUX.

Made trouble for myself by moving data folder. Need help to fix.
I did something that was not smart. I was trying to access photos via online and I moved my iphoto data folders to the desktop. Now, I don't know how to move the data folder back and I don't want to screw it up even worse. If I go into iphoto the thumbnails are blank, but when you double-click you can see the photo. How do I fix my careless mistake?
Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
First off, try move the Data folder back:
Quit iPhoto
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Drag the Data Folder in there.
Close the Window.
Start iPhoto.

Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

Deleted phone data from icloud, needs help
I deleted my iphone data from my icloud so it could backup without me purchasing more storage. Now that I did that, I'm not able to sign into my cloud. Is there a way I can get back in my cloud and back up using the same log in? I keep getting that my email is already on my phone and on my laptop i get 'manage account and send an anonymous diagnostic information to Apple' is there anything I can do to rectify this issue?
If you have an iCloud backup that was made while the calendar was still on your phone, you might be able to recover it from the backup by following this: Recovering deleted iCloud contacts from an iCloud backup. (This user tip was written to restore contacts from an iCloud backup, but the same process can be used to recover calendars. Just substitute calendars for contacts.)

Snow Leopard Email Issues -totally lost, need help
I am a fairly new iMac user so please answer with a "dummies" version.
OK, I installed Snow Leopard and have had issues sending email. I have Verizon DSL - who in their ultimate wisdom just made some changes on Sept. 1 and are now blocking port 25. I have a .mac email account that seems to be working ok, but the smtp settings are for .me and I can't change anything because it's all greyed out. I also have several AOL accounts that used to arrive on my mac with no issues, and I could send email from them as well. I now have difficulty sending email and must enter a password every time (annoying to say the least). At first, I thought I had a Verizon problem, so I followed Verizon's instructions and changed the port setting to 527 (or close to it, I don't exactly remember but it was the correct setting specified by Verizon) but after that I couldn't even get my email so I changed it back to port 993. I guess my biggest problem is trying to figure out who screwed up the email - is it Snow Leopard, Is it Verizon, is it AOL???? All I know is I'm at my wits end of what to do and how to do it. I thought about deleting all the accounts and starting over but I don't want to lose all my past messages. If anyone has any suggestions I'll be happy to try something different... please remember baby steps needed here. Thanks ever so much!Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
First of all, any place you are observing to see Port 993 is probably the location of the port for the Incoming Server -- 993 would never work for the Outgoing. Are you seeing that at Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced?
To adjust the port setting for Outgoing Servers, then in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account Information click on the arrows beside the name of the SMTP and choose Edit Server List. Once in that window, and if the name of the server is correctly entered, click on the Advanced Tab. Once under that tab, then for the MobileMe account (.mac/.me) choose Use Custom Port, enter 587, and furthermore enter the Username and Password. Do similarly for the Verizon account -- check or not check to use SSL per Verizon's advice. The AOL account will probably work with Use Default Port, and not SSL.

I can't figure out how to respond so ill go this route. I can't seem to find the button/place to which I can choose, to turn on a hot spot. I have been through every option and searched to no avail. Could it be that my iPhone 4 is not hotspot capable as I was led to believe by the apple sales associate? Is there an app I can find to make my phone a wifi hotspot? So I can get on the Internet to view the pages I want that require adobe which this piece of **** software monger won't even support?

How to activate an old iphone (after restoring it) without a new data plan
First off thanks for any help – I've seen the support article Using an iPhone without a wireless service plan and it no longer seems to reflect the current setup for the iTunes Store.
I have an old original iPhone that I've been using as an iPod. Works fine, but for some reason I wasn't able to replace some old photos with additional music. So, I decided to restore the phone and wipe it clean so there would be more space for music.
After the phone was wiped clean, it needed to be reactivated. There's no way to get into the phone or load music onto it without activating it, as far as I can tell. I saw the support article above, but after going through the steps in the iTunes store there was no way to active the phone without purchasing a $20 a month data plan. I know there's another way (or there used to be) but I can't figure it out.
Basically, just need to active my old iPhone, so that I can continue to use it as an iPod touch, without purchasing a new data plan.

Hi there, traveling through Italy with my iPad. Purchased a unlimited prepaid data plan with Italian carrier WIND. Has been working excellent, but when I try to download a new episode of Game of Thrones, I get an error message which says that I have to connect to a wi fi network or download the episode on my MacBook. Why can't I download using the microsim and prepaid data plan? Any help will be great thank you!
Unfortunately downloads larger than 20mbps require wifi due to most carriers having data limits. This "requirement" keeps people who are not familiar with data and what takes up a lot of data from going over.
