Customer data is vital to any organization. We were recently faced with a security breach causing us to rethink our security strategies that were currently being used. Our CEO suggested that we use EDMS systems that cater to regulatory mandates as well as security cover for vital enterprise data. Hi, I recently went through the exercise of setting up some programs to protect myself online on public wifi as well as protect my on-computer data. Since I didn't find any post on this topic, thought I'd share what I learnt. I have a Lenovo X120e but this should apply to any laptop user. I activated 4 things:
1. Registered my x120e at http://preyproject.com. This is a free service. In case your laptop is stolen you can login there from somewhere else and set your laptop to 'missing' and activate alarms, messages, data wipe-out etc.
2. Subscribed to Hotspot Shield Elite. When you connect to a public wifi (starbucks, airport), it converts it to a VPN. Your IP address is also temporarily changed, so you can't be hacked into.
3. Installed Folder Lock - great for protecting valuable files on the computer. Encrypt/lock/hide them. There is a one time cost to this sw.
4. Installed KeyPass password manager. Excellent Open Source sw. Free.
I am sure there are other excellent programs out there than you can use instead of these, but these seem to be the ones currently highly rated. And for a net $50+ and some installation effort, the safety and peace of mind is definitely worth it.

5. Install "USB Port Locked" - currently v4.0. Freeware. Blocks your usb ports from accepting any flash (data) drive. Non data devices will continue to work irrespective of whether USB Port lock has been activated or not. You can unlock with a password..

Be aware of where your photos are stored. If they are on a removable microSD card, then they might not be as well protected as if they are in internal memory, since locking or encrypting data in your phone might not include the microSD card.

Difference between oracle Data Guard and Replication

I would like to know the main difference between oracle replication and data guard. Theoretically both are same then where is the difference. Can replication or dataguard be configured in a single PC.

An Oracle Data Guard Standby instance provides transactionally consistent copies of the production database, in the event of an unplanned outage or instance maintenance the Data Guard Primary Role Standby Role can be switched so the Standby instance can provide Production services.
Replication :
Oracle Advanced Replication and Oracle Streams are Oracle's solution for replicating data and internal structures to remote databases. Advanced Replication is primarily trigger based where Streams is a rule/handler based replication process and considerably more efficient and less error prone than Advanced Replication

Mailboxfolderrecovery with Exchange Native Data Protection

Hi,
I`m currently facing an issue with deleted mailboxfolders in combination with exchange native data protection and hope some of you can bring up some advice on resolving this issue.
The situation:
Im using native data protection without traditional backup. I now have the issue, that I cant restore a mailbox to a specific moment time. When a folder is deleted all emails are moved to the dumpster, where I store them for 1 year. Apperently the
sourcefolderinformation is not stored, which makes it pretty difficult to restore complete folderstructures, when you dont exactly know which mails were stored in which folder (but who knows that :D)
Especialy shared mailboxes will suffer from this issue. When a delegate moves folders to another mailbox, there will not be any clue what the mailbox looked like.
Did anyone of you has/had the same issue and are there any suggestions to resolve this?

Every website I try to go to (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc that are safe) is saying that the website is unsafe and that I must accept the certificate).

Yesterday my Firefox seemed to spasm and I believe I had a virus (every time I hit the "home" button which is google.com for me, it would send me to this weird site that I knew wasn't safe). I uninstalled and re-installed Firefox and ran virus scanners but nothing was found. After restarting Firefox, every website that I try to go to is giving me an unsafe error and that I must give each site a security exception, even for safe sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc. Once I did get on Facebook, everything is in HTML format and I can't use it at all I tried restarting/uninstalling/resetting Firefox again but to no avail. I checked my Firewalls and nothing came up. Here is the data from the troubleshooting information.

Hopefully you can figure something out as I love Firefox but it's very frustrating that I can't use it and that this is happening. I also use Avast! Anti-security but I'm fairly certain that is having no effect on this problem. As I said I've also ran malware and virus scanners but nothing came up harmful.

If your home page is has been changed, and you don't have any suspicious extensions:
* Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]]) > Add-ons > Extensions
You can use the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/searchreset/ Search Reset Tool] to reset your home page, new tab page, and search bar back to default. The extension then uninstalls itself once these preferences are reset.

Global Script Protect and data uploading

I need to allow some users to upload data to our database
that includes html tags. When global script protect is on all these
tags are made safe and the content loses its formatting.
When I disable global script protect it is possible to load
an iframe externally to simulate a cross-site script attack.
How can I prevent the cross site scripting but still allow
users to upload html content to the database?
I'm using Fusebox 3 if that matters.

automatically run every request. But yes, ColdFusion based

run every request.
If you want something 'server compliant' then you need to
look at the
setting and configuration options of your web server, i.e.
IIS or
Apache. This is the system that could do something more
globally. I do
not know what, since I have never had to deal with this
level.
But, the reality of HTTP based systems, is that every request
is
unqualifiedly untrusted and if you must build a secure system
you just
have to work with that situation. Every request could include
malicious
code in the Get, Post, Cookie, etc and if you just process
this data
without screening it, then trouble can insue.

Does iTunes have to check all my music for match every time I open iTunes even when nothing has changed in the music folder? This is just one problem I have with iTunes and match. Every time I open iTunes, the first thing happening is iTunes checking my music and sending the information to Apple and then waiting for Apple to send back information about match. There is a third step that I have never seen iTunes actually reach as it always crashes before finishing this ritual with my music and match. Since I paid for match I can no longer use iTunes to listen to any of my music. I like having match function on my iPhone because even 128 GB is not enough space to keep a music library and everything else needed on the iPhone. But it's been a disaster with iTunes on my Windows 7 PC. I updated iTunes recently and the same problem continues. I can't find any clear description of how match works but it seems if there has been no change to the music folder then the tedious and buggy process of checking all music for match and sending data back and forth to Apple every time iTunes is used should not be necessary. Is there possibly something I have to change settings for to help iTunes start without so much to do?

If your library was working on your computer and then popped up empty all of a sudden then this might be what you need...
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Please provide more details. What version OS X were you using?
Are you saying that Mail faIled to upgrade and you lost your old mail?
Are you asking about PowerPC applications that require Rosetta to run like AppleWorks and Microsoft Office 2004?

If you had a pin code lock on the phone then your information is safe. If not then nothing in it is safe and I would suggest changing passwords to all accounts you had on the iphone ASAP. Also if you had find my iphone activated on the phone then you could go to icloud and wipe the phone remotely. If you didn't then there is nothing you can do about it.
