Data Recovery For Netware 4.11

My company has installed Novel Netware 4.11. Some days ago, the volume
that contains really important data corrupt. The server informed: "FAT
table error" and some volumes cannot be mounted. Please let me know if you
have any solution to save my data? It is really really important and
urgent.
Many thanks

I see you've reposted this over in the 4.11 newsgroup. That's the
right place for this.

  • DATA RECOVERY for a hard drive that isn't recognized.

    Hi,
I just found today that my hard drive is bad. I had one of those geek squad people come look at it and he was able to get it to boot from the Mac OS X Leopard CD, but my hard drive was no where to be seen.
I'm taking the hard drive to one of those places that specializes in data recovery. But, I was wondering...can they retrieve files that were on the desktop? Or are those files gone forever?

Hello Again! Now that there is serious soul searching going on now would be a good time to think about your backup plans for when you get everything up and running again. If the drive is going off to the recovery center worrying further won't help so I suggest coming up with a good recovery plan for times like these. Hard drives are going to fail and they always seem to fail at the most inopertune times but with a good backup plan this could have only been a restart. A second hard drive is a must if there is anything at all important on the computer. It can be an external or internal. I have 4 320 gig SATA drives in my G4 (and I really don't have anything very important on there) I usually keep two secondary bootable clones and rotate between them in case of a backup failure. Then I try to keep another clone on an external and finally I keep a partition with only a fresh install and my utilities for drive repair. I tinker a lot and I've screwed things up a few times but it really wasn't even a minor irritation. Good luck. Tom

  • Data recovery for crashed hard drive?

Ok, recently my macbook pro internal hard drive crashed (I was receiving the question mark on folder at bootup). I have recently purchased a new hard drive and replaced it with the corrupt one. I tried to gain access to the data using an external caddy, however the hard drive did not appear in finder and I could not mount it in utilities.
Is there any possible way I can recover my files, preferably not through some company which wants thousands of $$$.

    hi friend,
No need to worry. There are many cases due to which hard drive crashes and not works. Don't worry! The data is not lost forever; it is only invisible from your computer. You might be thinking that the disk will overwrite the space of the deleted data with some other data. Running a wrong data recovery software application might corrupt your data and there are chances of losing them forever. By using a good hard drive recovery tool you can recover all your lost data from corrupted hard drive, crashed hard drives. You can easily download the free trial version of the software.

  • Data Recovery for Macbook Air when repair efforts failed

My computer is unable to boot and stays on the gray screen. I've tried to repair my computer with every method up to disk utility but nothing will work, so I want to back up my computer if possible before reinstalling the software. I don't use time machine, so I was wondering if there is a way to do it by external hard drive.
    Thank you for any suggestions!

There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to fully boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
    1. Boot into Recovery (command-R at startup) or from a local Time Machine backup volume (option key at startup.) Launch Disk Utility and follow the instructions in the support article linked below, under “Instructions for backing up to an external hard disk via Disk Utility.”
How to back up and restore your files
    2. If you have access to a working Mac, and both it and the non-working Mac have FireWire or Thunderbolt ports, boot the non-working Mac in target disk mode by holding down the key combination command-T at the startup chime. Connect the two Macs with a FireWire or Thunderbolt cable. The internal drive of the machine running in target mode will mount as an external drive on the other machine. Copy the data to another drive. This technique won't work with USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth.
How to use and troubleshoot FireWire target disk mode
    3. If the internal drive of the non-working Mac is user-replaceable, remove it and mount it in an external enclosure or drive dock. Use another Mac to copy the data.

  • Data recovery for 12 inch Powerbook

Hi everyone. My brother borrowed my beloved powerbook and after he inserted a clear plastic cd, the kind that protects the bottom cd of a set of blank cds (I've still no idea why he wanted to do that) it crashed and ended up in a grey screen load up limbo. It wouldn't boot or let me eject the cd and after trying various forum suggestions to remove the disc I submitted it to my local mac shop who charged me to remove the disc. However it still won't boot up. The shop wanted my permission to format the PB but I want to recover my data!
My question is: can anyone recommend someone in the UK who for a reasonable price could recover my data for me as my PB still won't boot up and probably needs reformatting!!!
Thanks for your help and time

  • Data recovery for operational Toshiba external hard drive

I have a Toshiba HDDR500E03X external USB hard drive that's had trouble running properly recently within Windows XP Pro environments.  It's been fine since it's purchase in 2009, but within the last week or so encountered issues being detected within device manager and explorer.  Using support.microsoft.com advice, I removed the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry entries in the following hierarchy:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
This did allow the drive to be recognized within XP, but it appears to have generated a second problem.  Now, when I look a the drive's root folder, I see what appears to be the contents of a Sony VAIO backup folder, which I believe to be a subfolder of the drive's data.  I'm not able to see photos, music, office files, etc.  I have to wonder if the registry tweak repointed the root folder to the wrong location?
    Any advice?
    Thanks,
    Scott

If the volume has Mac OS X installed on it, select the disk in the Disk Utility window and click the Repair Permissions button; this will correct the settings. If not, follow the instructions below:
Choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu and enter /Volumes/ as the folder's location. Next, open the Terminal in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder while keeping the Volumes folder open. Type the following into the window:
    chmod 755
followed by a space. Drag the volume in question into the Terminal window and press Enter. Log out and back in, and see if the drive reappears on your desktop; if not, use:
    sudo chown shortname
and then drag the volume back into the Terminal window, type in your administrator password, and press Enter. Log out and back in.

  • Data Recovery Software for OS 9.x???

    Hi,
Is there any software on the market for data recovery for mac os 9.1? I have lost some data (accidentally erased) on my hard drive module on my G3 laptop Pismo (the black one, with the slide in hard drive). The Onbelay junk does not work with such a hard drive, and only works with USB devices like memory sticks, CF cards, etc. Not of help with a hard drive. Everything on the market seems to be for Windows or Mac OS 10.x
    Thanks.

Norton Utilities (SystemWorks) for Mac OS X gets badly maligned on the forum (for good reason). But the version for Mac OS 9 and below was one of the best sets of maintenance and recovery utilities. It does a lot, including recovering accidentally deleted files.
It's SystemWorks version 1.0 (with the last version of Norton Utilities that was fully Mac OS 9) that you want. You can find it cheap from a few vendors including

  • Data recovery from backup

    Hello.
Could you please let me know the recovery steps of the data volume?
I tested the following steps on my HANA (Rev.18), but I could not recover my data due to the error.
    1. Start HANA studio, right-click on the host name in the 'Navigator' pane, and select 'Backup'.
    2. Go through the backup wizard, and create 'COMPLETE_DATA_BACKUP' files in '/usr/sap/<SID>/HDB00/backup/data'.
    3. Confirm that the 'COMPLETE_DATA_BACKUP_databackup_N_M' files exist in the above directory.
    4. Right-click on the host name in the 'Navigator' pane in HANA Studio, and select 'Stop'.  Select 'Soft' shutdown.
    5. Confirm that the HANA DBMS stops.
    6. Start the 'GNOME Terminal', go to the '/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data' directory, and delete (or rename) the 'mnt00001' directory.
    7. Right-click on the host name in the 'Navigator' pane in HANA Studio, and select 'Recovery'.
    8. Start the recovery with un-checking the 'Recovery of the Log Entries' option.
    9. The data recovery for 'Name Server' stops at 50%, and the following error is shown.
         Recovery of system <SID> failed
The service 'nameserver' at 'NODE:30001' responsible for the volume '1' does crash.
    Thank you,
    -mamoru

    Hello,
still thinking what might be the reason for error and got another idea (but without the recovery log it is just pure guess):
    6. Start the 'GNOME Terminal', go to the '/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data' directory, and delete (or rename) the 'mnt00001' directory.
If you renamed/deleted whole directory - maybe the recovery process was missing the directory and was not able to recreate it... (I had similar issue with log destination when I decided to have it in other than standard destination. Installer was not able to create it and was failing until I created the directory manually.)
However I am still wondering what exactly is mnt00001 directory for...
From SAP HANA Studio it is apparent that:
nameserver (does not have any data file created at specified location) ...is assigned path:
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/hdb00001
    indexserver ...is assigned path
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/hdb00002
    statisticsserver ...is assigned path
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/hdb00003
However nowhere is written what exactly is stored in following directories:
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/hdb00002_backup
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/hdb00003_backup
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/mnt00001/hdb00001
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/mnt00001/hdb00002
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/mnt00001/hdb00003
    /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/hdb/data/mnt00001/hdb00001_backup
Does anyone know? I was not able to find this information.
Similar situation is in log area...

  • IPod Nano data recovery

Hi. I own an iPod Nano, and yesterday, I accidentally dropped it into a sink. It flashed a message about firewire connections and prompty shut off. Now, I tried to turn it on, about 5 times, and plugged it in once, so it's probably gone. But here's my real problem. I just reformatted my computer, and the nano was backup to about 3 years worth of stuff. So what I'm wondering it, is there any way to get data recovery for it? Will Apple do that? I can't use software cause the nano is completely unresponsive. Any ideas? I don't mind if I don't get my nano back.

Well, I shook all the water out of it, and I let it sit for a day or two. Then one morning I connected it in a dock (That helped for some reason, as it was vertical), My computer flashed that there was a USB device connected, and I got all my files back. Now the idea is get a really firm connection. Bumping the nano would cause it to disconnect and stop the recovery. But the nano was fried anyway. Screen failed, only backlight works, to start I need to reset. My advice? Make sure you let it dry out. However, since I had taken my pc for repair, the songs were on the drive directly, so it was just a cut and paste situation. But, there are programs that can extract the data. you can also enable show hidden files in Windows XP to see your songs, although their Tags are messed up.
    Hope that helps.

    Hello,
In mid august I bought the new Macbook air 13" Intel Core i5 for education use. And for the last 2 months I have been using it fulltime at the university. This means I have a lot of very emportent and irreplaceable notes and papers on my hard drive.
So here is the thing! Last week my Mac had a water damage in my computer bag and the screen is now burned out.. My insurance won't cover a new one and before I have the money, I need to recover all my files from my hard drive because I need them i school! I have looked for an adapter that I can use to connect the hard drive to another machine but because of the new product it is impossible to find!
Can anybody help me? I am desperate to find a way to get to my files!
    From a hopefull Mac-user!

  • Data Recovery Software for MBP

Apparently I have trashed the directory on my FW 160GB Maxtor External drive. "Unable to read disk". (It is a drag since it happened just as I was getting my brand new MBP system up! Oh well!)
My research has not uncovered a suitable disk repair/data recovery solution for the new iMac (Intel-based). Does anybody know of one? The best one?

Other than Disk Utility (Utilities folder) there are two commercial products: TechTool Pro 4.5.2 (www.micromat.com) and Drive Genius 1.5.1 (www.prosofteng.com.)
Try DU, it's pretty good unless the directory is too badly trashed to be repaired.
For data recovery there's Data Rescue II (www.prosofteng.com) and File Salvage (www.subrosasoft.com.)

  • Data Recovery Software for the Zen Vision M

Data Recovery Software for the Zen Vision M:
Has anyone had any success recovering lost sound files from a Vision M, with software, physical repair services, or otherwise? Does anyone claim to be able to recover information from these devices?
The data recovery programs I have tried fail to recognize the dri've, since it doesn't show up in list of dri'ves for some reason (Is there a way to make this show up?). Any suggestions/ recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I lost over a year of recordings after an unexpected forced reformatting. How would one even go about finding someone for this job?
    Thanks, GW

Haven't really tried the data recovery so I would like to know more about this one too.
