Data Recovery Software for the Zen Vision M

Data Recovery Software for the Zen Vision M:
Has anyone had any success recovering lost sound files from a Vision M, with software, physical repair services, or otherwise? Does anyone claim to be able to recover information from these devices?
The data recovery programs I have tried fail to recognize the dri've, since it doesn't show up in list of dri'ves for some reason (Is there a way to make this show up?). Any suggestions/ recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I lost over a year of recordings after an unexpected forced reformatting. How would one even go about finding someone for this job?
Thanks, GW

Haven't really tried the data recovery so I would like to know more about this one too.

What is the best data recovery software for Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard?

    A backup.
After that's there's the usual list, DataRescue, FileSalvage. General reading on this topic - http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/datarecovery.html  It would help to know the actual problem since sometimes a straight answer to this kind of question isn't always the way to a solution to the real issue.

  • Windows 7 64 bit driver for the Zen Vision M?

    - Where EXACTLY can I find the Windows 7 64-bit driver for the Zen Vision M? My new computer came with it installed in Windows Media Player 2, but the driver became corrupt. I can't seem to find that driver on the Creative or Microsoft download websites. Please Help!

The driver is nati've to Windows. Creative does not write the MTP driver. I would suggest re-install WMP2 or contact Microsoft for advice if it is corrupt. As for software to use the player on a 64 Win 7system? there is nothing for the Vision M. You may want to read this page? http://support.creative.com/KB/showarticle.aspx?sid=605&h=3

  • What travel dock/speaker system for the Zen Vision 60gb?

Hi all, forgive me if this has been asked before, but I have just bought the Zen vision 60gb, and I would like a compatible travel dock; does anybody know which Creative dock the Zen 60gb will fit's I am not sure myself as the ones I have been looking at refer only to the Zen vision 30gb,
I intend to use it for holidays, camping etc.
Failing that, can anybody recommend a good portable speaker set up for the Zen vision 60gb?
    thanks for your time guys!
    cheers Dave

Any set of computer speakrs can be connected to any MP3 player. They would be far more versatile than a docking station, as the docking station becomes almost useless after the player breaks. Alternati'vely, if your husband's office computer has speakers, he could just plug the Touch into the computer (may require a software installation) and just play the music through the computer (no cash outlay at all ?.)
If you decide to go with speakers, $50 should be able to buy you a pretty decent set of amplified speakers; there is no need to go beyond a 2 speaker (stereo) system since MP3s only output in 2 channels.

  • Data Recovery Software for MBP

Apparently I have trashed the directory on my FW 160GB Maxtor External drive. "Unable to read disk". (It is a drag since it happened just as I was getting my brand new MBP system up! Oh well!)
My research has not uncovered a suitable disk repair/data recovery solution for the new iMac (Intel-based). Does anybody know of one? The best one?

Other than Disk Utility (Utilities folder) there are two commercial products: TechTool Pro 4.5.2 (www.micromat.com) and Drive Genius 1.5.1 (www.prosofteng.com.)
Try DU, it's pretty good unless the directory is too badly trashed to be repaired.
For data recovery there's Data Rescue II (www.prosofteng.com) and File Salvage (www.subrosasoft.com.)

  • Help needed! Usb Data recovery software for word documents?

A friend of mine has saved ALL of her precious work on a USB pen, which for no apparent reason has stopped working!
It isn't being recognised by windows, but my mac is detecting it with trial software which I cannot buy on my measly student income. Not doable.
Is there any data recovery software available for macs which detect microsoft documents which is....ummm free?
It's beginning to drive me mad I've been looking at this stupid pen for ages. But my mate has offered me 50 quid if I get it sorted, so I am persevering! Any help would be appreciated guys!

You can try the free Demo version of Data Rescue. It does not detect Word files; it's looking for anything on the device that matches the criteria you set.
    Hope this helps,
    Mulder

  • Data Recovery Software for Mac.

I have 2 questions regarding data recovery from an external drive (WD My Book Essential).
    1. During a Bootcamp install, the backup taken using WD Smartware software has been replaced by a Windows folder and I cannot read the drive after reinstalling SL on my Mac Mini to retrieve my backup. If I erase the drive (as the software is asking me to do), can I then recover the lost backup files using data recovery software or will the file system on the external drive cause a problem. (Format is NTFS)
    2. Which data recovery software is best for for use on a Mac? Or do I recover using Windows software instead?
    Thanks.

If you want to recover data from a Windows partition, you probably need to use Windows recovery software. I'm not aware of any Mac data recovery software that can work with an NTFS partition, though there might be something out there I've missed. Do not erase the Bootcamp partition before attempting to use any recovery software if you can possibly avoid doing so (use Windows volume repair software if the volume won't mount); that will just make the recovery far more difficult.
    Good luck.

  • Best data recovery software for Mac Os X 10.10

I need to recover data that was deleted on a WD external HDD. I am using a mac mini with Os X 10.10.
I would like to use a reliable and safe data recovery product.
    Any suggestions?

The file was fragmented. To fully recover a file it needs to be continuous on the hard drive. If the file was fragmented it was broken into pieces across the hard drive. The recovery program can't know this so would each piece as a different file as it no longer has a map to go off of.
There will probably be many files with a random letter/number combo for a name. Within these may be the missing parts of the video. While there may be some advanced forensic techniques to reconstitute the files. I think that would go beyond some forum advice to needing years of advanced training in data recovery.
You can try Nucleus Kernel Macintosh. It is by far the most thorough and robust data recovery I have used but requires Windows to run even though it recovers Mac volumes.
For OS X native try Stellar Phoenix. I didn't find it as good but it is definitely the best I know of for Os X 10.10.
I would not bother with Data Rescue or Disk Warrior. They will not do a deep scan of the hard drive. They also won't do a scan if the partition table was lost and won't try to plow through disk errors.
Also $70 to $100 for data recovery software is very cheap compared to professional.
Edit: I also hope you are recovering files to a different drive than that external you wiped and that you have not been adding any files to it. Otherwise that data will be mangled fast.

  • Can't find right software for my Zen Vision M

    - Win XP
    Win media player 0
    Zen Vision M 30GB.
I can only find the software for the Media Source Organizer but this doesn't allow me to transfer music from libary to player... It thinks my player is a minidisc of 74 minutes capacity! :-(( It won't see my Zen.
Why is there only software for Vista on the Creative site? I can't find it for XP...
Hope there is someone who can help. Thanks.

  • Data Recovery Software for OS 9.x???

    Hi,
Is there any software on the market for data recovery for mac os 9.1? I have lost some data (accidentally erased) on my hard drive module on my G3 laptop Pismo (the black one, with the slide in hard drive). The Onbelay junk does not work with such a hard drive, and only works with USB devices like memory sticks, CF cards, etc. Not of help with a hard drive. Everything on the market seems to be for Windows or Mac OS 10.x
    Thanks.

Norton Utilities (SystemWorks) for Mac OS X gets badly maligned on the forum (for good reason). But the version for Mac OS 9 and below was one of the best sets of maintenance and recovery utilities. It does a lot, including recovering accidentally deleted files.
It's SystemWorks version 1.0 (with the last version of Norton Utilities that was fully Mac OS 9) that you want. You can find it cheap from a few vendors including

  • Photo recovery software for the 3G?

recently lost all photo files from my iPhone 3G and am looking for any file recovery software that is compatible with it...

If the photos were taken on the phone, did you not transfer them to your computer? They may be in your iTunes backup on your computer, check with MobileSyncBrowser (Google it).
If you're taking about pics in the Photo Library, those were synced from your computer and should stil be on your computer.

  • Best "work-out" case for the Zen Vision

I received a ZV:M about a week ago, and I'm mainly going to be using it'swhile working out at the gym. I've read that the case Creative makes is the best to get, but is there a thing on the back to hold an arm band Is there a better case to use while working out? Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

I have the DLO Action Jacket for my ZVM.
Good protection, and comes with a belt clip and an arm band. WARNING - It will scuff up the black plastic face of your ZVM (for that matter, so will most cases...the ZVM's plastic is notoriously fragile....) - so if that's a concern to you, invest in a Best-Skin-Ever or equivalent. I'm not crazy about the case...it's a bit of a dust magnet...but I was thankful it was on the other day when my ZVM slipped from my hand...rolled down 5 stairs and on to a concrete floor. It survi'ved without any damage. Another word of warning...be extremely careful if you're using your ZVM, or any hard-dri've based player, while working out. The jarring of repeated high-impact exercise (like jogging) is not good for the hard dri've and can cause damage. For that sort of thing, I'd recommend investing in a cheap flash-based player.
