Data request in PSA is shown in yellow color

HI Experts,
I have created a generic data source in R/3 and replicated the same in BI. But when the INFOPACKAGE is executed, the requested data in PSA is shown as Yellow Colour.
R/3 connection is fine. I populated the data using RSA3. Can you trace out why the data requested is shown in Yellow Colour and possible solution.

1. Did you activated the transfer structure in BW or not?
2. this might be also prob in the code which you might have writted in R/3 to extract the data. BY the way how is ur data source has been designed?
3. Did you check the connection is proper or not?
4. Is your load is picking any data or not? Is it lying with 0 from 0??
5. Check also Partner profiles in WE20 if any load is not working fine in BW system.
6. Also check whether the job is Active in r/3 or not?
Check the above to track some details and come back to us with more details..

How to push a perticular request from PSA to Data target using DTP in BI

Hello all.
I have mulitple requests in PSA & wanted to move only perticular requests (Randomly, say first request & last request ) to data target using DTP in BI 7.0. How can we do this.. ? Is there any option in DTP (BI 7.0)for selective loading of requests from PSA to Data Target..

Hi,
It is possible by using 'zero fetch' in DTP
If you want only the recent req to be loaded.
1. In PSA, change the status of the recent request to red
2. Do a zero fetch
that is processing mode - No data transfer; delta status in source: fetched
With this processing mode you execute a delta without transferring data.
3. change the particular request status back to green
4. Run a delta load

Data Request remains in yellow status after RSAPO_CLOSE_TRANS_REQUEST

Dear all,
I am working on BI 7.0 and I need to load data from a Real-Time Cube (in planning mode) to a Standard Cube. I am using a Process Chain with a program which calls function module RSAPO_CLOSE_TRANS_REQUEST providing the technical name of the Real-Time cube to this function module. I see that this function module works in general, because afterwards I see the number of data records transferred and added appearing in the data request. However, the status of the data request is still yellow. In order to load the data from this cube to another it has to be in green. It is not acceptable to do this manually, it has to be automated. Data entry on the Planning Cube is via a BI-IP Query. The data arrives correctly in the cube, when checking the InfoCube content the data appears to be fine.
I have used this function module in many projects without such a problem. Does anyone have an idea why the data request is not set in green status?
I have also tried to use the function modules RSAPO_SWITCH_TRANS_TO_BATCH and RSAPO_SWITCH_BATCH_TO_TRANS to convert from Planning mode to normal mode and then back from normal to planning mode. The result is the same, data request remains yellow.

I have tried this with the standard Process Chain steps to switch the mode, but the issue remains. It first switches the Cube to Load-Mode, I see data records in the request being added to the cube, the next step tries to switch the cube back into Planning mode, This step now gives an error because the data request is in yellow status, so the cube cannot be switched back to planning.
Error Message:
Request APO_R4EX2HO4TYDLBCNQPQY82K8ZOJ(0000020181) is yellow or red in InfoCube DRI_P301; cannot switch to planning
Message no. RSM068
The Problem is that after the Cube was switched to Load-mode the request is still yellow.
I do not understand why data records get added to the cube but the request does not get turned into green status. Any more ideas?

No data available in PSA

Hi,
I am trying to do full load into PSA from R/3 i am not able get the records when i check the extract stucture 2lis_11_vakon in R/3 using RSA3 it is having records. Its showing following status in the monitor when the data request is made.
No data available
Diagnosis
The data request was a full update.
In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not
contain any data.
System Response
Info IDoc received with status 8.
Procedure
Check the data basis in the source system.
The request was successfull but showing as 0 from 0 records.I had checked the idocs BD87 all are in 3 and 53 status.I had checked in sm37,sm66 no jobs are pending.
Can anyone tell me where i am doing a mistake.

Hi Raj,
Try these,
tRFC Error - status running Yellow for long time (Transact RFC will be enabled in Status tab in RSMO).
Step 1: Goto Details, Status get the IDoc number,and go to BD87 in R/3,place the cursor in the RED IDoc entroes in tRFC
queue thats under outbound processing and click on display the IDOC which is on the menu bar.
Step 2: In the next screen click on Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call)
place the cursor on the particular Transaction ID and go to EDIT in the menu bar --> press 'Execute LUW'
(Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call) ---> select the TrasnID ---> EDIT ---> Execute LUW)
Rather than going to SM58 and executing LUW directly it is safer to go through BD87 giving the IDOC name as it will take you
to the particular TRFC request for that Idoc.
OR
Go into the JOB Overview of the Load there you should be able to find the Data Package ID.
(For this in RSMO Screen> Environment> there is a option for Job overview.)
This Data Package TID is Transaction ID in SM58.
OR
SM58 > Give * / user name or background (Aleremote) user name and execute.It will show you all the pending TRFC with
Transaction ID.
In the Status Text column you can see two status
Transation Recorded and Transaction Executing
Don't disturb, if the status is second one Transaction Executing. If the status is first one (Transation Recorded) manually
execute the "Execute LUWs"
OR
Directly go to SM58 > Give * / user name or background (Aleremote) user name and execute. It will show TRFCs to be executed
for that user. Find the particular TRFC (SM37 > Req name > TID from data packet with sysfail).select the TrasnID (SM58) --->
EDIT ---> Execute LUW
OR
In RSMO, select the particular load you want to monitor.
In the menu bar, Environment >>> Transact. RFC >>> Select whichever is required, BW or Source System.
In the next screen you can select the Execute button and the IDOCS will be displayed.

Pushing a request from PSA..but says.."Request is already updated in cube". I have deleted before scheduling from psa...i could see the request in yellow/not yet completed list.
I am couldnt find the request in the cube...but while pushing from psa it says"request already updated".

How to resolve data request error in cube load

I apologize in advance if this is too much detail, but here goes...
We are on BW 3.5 and have only one cube active (0SD_C03). This cube contains five data targets. One of these targets had an update request fail due to an error in the transfer rule.
Basically, I have a custom characteristic which is populated by parsing out the Product Hierarchy field from R/3. The BW custom characteristic is a 5-character Alpha field. Problem is that in this case, the format of the code is not five characters; instead, it is a blank and then four digits. So instead of being '8613A' it is ' 8613', so the transfer rule terminates with the error 'InfoObject /BIC/ZPRDCODE does not contain alpha-conforming value'.
I recall being told by consultants to always "fix the data in the source system" but in this case, the data isn't wrong per se.
So I guess I have two questions:
1) Can I manually edit the data in the PSA to "correct" the product line field to be a conforming value? i.e. I would change it from ' 8613' to '8613x'. The help says something about deleting the request in order to maintain data in the PSA, but I'm not clear on how to do this. And once I have edited the data, how do I "release" all the subsequent deltas so they are available for reporting?
2) Can I change my transfer rules such that these errors don't occur in the future?
Again, sorry for all the detail, but I'm fairly desperate.

You can manuallly edit the data in PSA .But to do this you have to delete the request from the Data target(s).Then edit the data in PSA. And then schedule the request from PSA tree.

I hope, you can . select tick mark for 'Conversion' column in transfer rule of this object .

Deletion of last request from PSA & Cube

Hello Experts,
I have one Z Infocube in which daily full data had been uploaded....Now in PSA, i have uploaded monthwise data via full load process. but for the current month i have to daily delete the request and then execute the process chain. Is there any method or process type which I can add into process chain that deletes the last date request and same for the DTP Request.
Please help me out from this as i cant take full load daily.

Hi,
You can create a selective deletion program using the t-code DELETE_FACTS. Use this program in the process chain and provide variant to delete the previous request.
PSA Data Deleteion:
You can delete the request onderthan no.of Days.In the pC Process Types you will find option for Delete the PSA Data.

Error coming while activating the data request at DSO level

please can anybody tell me the solution for that.
While activation the data request at DSO level , i am getting error .

this error is coming under SID Generation .

Activation failed because of the special characters in the Omaterial
Delete the request in target
edit it in the specific record in PSA and load it back
In your case i think its a space problem u can see a space after L
delete the space for the record and load it again

How to correct the data in the psa table?

1Q. There are lot of invalid character in the infopackage of say 1million records. it takes lot of time to check each and every record in the data package(PSA)and correct it. i think there is an efficient way to reslove this issue that is going in the PSA table to correct all the records. is it right, if yes how to do it?
2Q. If say there are 30 data packages in the request and only data pacakge 25 has the bad records. if i correct the data in the PSA and push it to the data target, its gone process all the data packages one by one that takes lot of time and delay our process chain job that has depedency on the load. can i just manually process this data package only. if yes how to do it?
3Q. when i successfully correct all the bad records in the data package and push it from the PSA. the request dont turn to status green and have to manually turn this request to green in the data target after i verify all the data packages have on bad records and it is a delta update. is my process right? as it is a delta what are the pitfalls i have to watch for? and the next step after this is compress the request this is very dangerous because this basic cube have lot of history and it will take a long time probably weeks to reload it. how to take precuation before i turn it to stutus green in the data target?

1Q . Update the invalid chars in the filter table using tcode RSKC and also write a ABAP routine to filter out the invalid characters.
2Q. For the incorrect data packet, you can right click on the data packet in the monitor details tab and say update manually. That way you don't need to reload the entire request again.
3Q. When you reload the request or update individual data packet again, the request should automatically turn green. You don't have to turn it green manually. The pitfall is, if you turn a delta request green, you have chances of losing data and corrupting the delta. Best practise is never turn a request green manually.. Even if you compress the requests, you can use selective deletion to delete the data and then use an infopackage with the same selections, that you used for deletion to load the same data back.

Error with calendar date being extracted : PSA - ODS - cubes correction

Hello to all,
I have an issue with incorrect calendar date being captured by BW.
Here is the analysis:
We have red request into the invoice cubes because of incorrect calendar date. It has been found that the process is done via PSA -> ODS -> Cubes
How will I do the correction? Kindly specify on whether or not to change the status of the red QM status in the cubes. Also with the data mart status of ODS and the request of ODS? What status(has to be changed)? what request has to be deleted? Thanks.

changed QM status to green of the Info Cubes
deleted the green status of requests in the Info Cubes
deleted the Data Mart status of ODS
deleted the request of ODS
edited manually the data into the PSA
started the update immediately
Then....
I will wait if the request will be updated in ODS?
Then
I will check if the delta job from ODS to cube will proceed right?

Data load from R3 to BW shows yellow status

Hi Guru's,
While extracting the data from R3 to BW, BW is receiveing all the packages e.g. 10 packages. But out of 10, one of the package is showing in the yellow status and the rest in the green status.
Overall the Status is shown as yellow but the messages display in the Monitor that all the records are fowarded and received.
I have this loads in the process chains and because of this issue, my process chains are not getting executed further.
Could any one of you tell me how to resolve this issue.
Is this an issue that BW consultant should resolve or is this a BASIS issue ?

Data reload from PSA problem

I has standrat BI7 data load process: DataSource -> IPackage -> DTP -> DSO.
I've deleted 3 last requests in my custom developed DSO. They do exists in PSA. Now I want them to be restored from PSA, but unfortunately, there is no "Update with scheduler" menu item then I right click on request in PSA.
The data source, IPackages (full, init, delta) and the DTP are active.
I tried to use rsa1old, but I didn't datasource in data source tree, probably because i'm using BI7 data load...
So, why SAP doesn't allow me to update requests again? Are where any other ways to do it?

once you deleted the requests from DSO automatically you can observe the "not updated to any target" symbol in the PSA fro those requests that are deleted from DSO
so when you schedule the DTP (Delta) again it will only take the requests from PSA which are not updated to any targets so it should take the deleted three requests and once they are updated to the target the symbol will change in PSA for those requests
But if you do any structural change to the data source then you again need to replicate adn activate the Data source and load the data up to PSA

Hello all,
I have a process chain that has been running every night but has errors. I have fixed the problem and reloaded the data from the PSA. Is it Ok to delete all the red requests from the InfoCube?
Also how long should you keep a request in the cube? i.e. is there a best practice to delete the request form the cube after a few months in order to clean up the data, or will this delete the data in the cube?
Any information surrounding this issue will be helpful.

Its mandatory to delete all red request from Infocube ,only then the cube will get reporting symbol and ill be available for reporting

Yo should run the compression job over a period of time..say every week @ sunday wen there is less business critical jobs...
Dont delte the request ..as it may lead to inconsistency of data...

Yes, data in the PSA tables is periodically deleted to prevent it from getting bigger and bigger.
It is a good idea to delete incorrect requests or deltas for a data target, to which you do not want to load any more delta.
