Hi All,
I m getting this error whn i try to bind a sub report within a report,
Data retrieval failed for the subreport, 'Subreport2', located at: E:\Anil\Sample.rdlc. Please check the log files for more information.

This is a know issue which you can see in the link:https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/648560/subreport-with-shared-dataset-throws-error
This issue occurs only on Business Integrated Development Studio (BIDS) and use a shared dataset in subreport. And it is fixed in SQL Server Reporting Services 2012. So you can avoid this issue by changing the shared dataset to embedded dataset or deploy the
shared dataset to Report Server and view report on Report Manage.

Hi,
I have the subreport calling from the main report. The subreport is based on MDX query agianst the SSAS cube. some dimensions in cube has values 0 and 1.
when I try to pass '0' to the sub report as the parameter value, it gives an error "Data Retrieval failed for the report, please check the log for more details".
Actually I am using table for storing these parameter values. In the main report I am calling this table (dataset) and passing these values to subreport.
so I have given like [0],[1] and this works fine. when I give only either [0] or [1] then it is throwing an error.
Could you please advise on this.

Based on the current description, I understand that there is no issue if you pass two values from main report to subreport, while the issue occurs when passing one value to subreport.
To narrow down the issue, I want to confirm whether the subreport can run if there is only [0] or [1] in the subreport. If so, it indicates the query statements exist error in the subreport. If it’s not the case, this shows the issue occurs during passing
values from main report to subreport. To make further analysis, please post the details of query statements of the subreport to the forum.

Need data retrieval recommendations for the UK only please
Hey folks.
I just wanted to say that I had a problem with strange sounds off my hard disk, the lengthy restarts and problems waking up the computer after battery being empty and finally my hard disk died completely.
With 17 months under its belt this Hitachi 80GB hard disk ought not to have died but this happens. Sadly I was ABOUT to back up (isn't that always the way?) but had not managed (due to the problems) and so lost some EXTREMELY valuable data. ie photos (numbering 400 and about 600 others) of my grandfather who was taken into hospital for heart failure aged 91 on the VERY SAME DAY.
Now- I am NOT letting this hard disk go. I have been told by the kind but very slow (Apple took over a fortnight to send them a replacement disk and they had it for 16 days in the end- I went mad) folk who repaired it, it is the mechanism which failed and not the platters which melted or otherwise warped.
So- this means that the chances of data retrieval are high. BUT- I have had one quote from the firm they recommended and was told it could be as much as £1,300 on the slowest service. Now, as you will appreciate, there IS no value which can be placed on such precious things as memories of a loved one but SURELY there is a chance that someone here has knowledge of a more- erm- cost efficient method?
LOOOOONG story short: Can you recommend anyone in the UK area who does a good job retrieving data from what has been deemed a high probability recovery?
Anything I need to know about the subject? All I can tell you is that this WILL involve removing the platters from the mechanism and placing them to another, functioning one with the probability of needing to back up in the region of 20GB.
Your help in this is so very gratefully received. I am thankful you users are here to hold my hand on this.Posted this under the correct header as well- 15 Powerbook. Resolved it myself- went on the net and just picked one. Was semi-successful and if you are needing info check it out- I have explained this there.

Data Retreival Failed for subreport
Hi all
I am getting an error when trying to embed a subreport (VS 2013)
The message I get is:
Data retrieval failed for the subreport, 'rptBlahBlah' located at project.rptBlahBlah.rdlc. Please check the log files for more information.
Assuming the logs are the ones in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles then there are no relevant error messages or anything to indicate anything failed.
I have removed all parameters from the subreport and the query that should be loading the data but still the same.
I have put the subreport directly into a reportviewer and it shows up just fine so the report definition and the dataset must be OK.
Where else/What else can I look at?

I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible,please also not specify this account:
This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.
Execution Account (SSRS Native Mode)

We have done the next steps:
- Run SXI_CACHE and start a complete cache refresh,
- http://<Host>:<portNo.>/CPACache/refresh?mode=full
- Restart J2EE server.
The problem isn't solved.
any idea?Probably you need to ask your BASIS team if they have done it or not.
Secondly you can just see if something has been done under SWCV SAP BASIS --- http://sap.com/xi/XI/System --- Adapter Metadata, just by oping any adapter and then by looking at Properties or Hisotry from menu "Adapter Metadata". Here you can see the date under "Changed on", so if this matches with your upgrade date then something has been done. But this check will not help you know about the SP level. So better to ask with BASIS. -

Data Recovery Software for the Zen Vision M:
Has anyone had any success recovering lost sound files from a Vision M, with software, physical repair services, or otherwise? Does anyone claim to be able to recover information from these devices?
The data recovery programs I have tried fail to recognize the dri've, since it doesn't show up in list of dri'ves for some reason (Is there a way to make this show up?). Any suggestions/ recommendations would be greatly appreciated as I lost over a year of recordings after an unexpected forced reformatting. How would one even go about finding someone for this job?

I am able to run the report fine in BIDS in the preview window, and it deployes fine. When it goes to view the report in the browser, I get the following error. There is no domain, I am using a standalone computer with SQL Server and SSRS on
this one machine.

Based on the error message "The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError)", it seems that the Unattended Execution Account settings in Reporting Services
Configuration is not correct.
Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. Unattended report processing refers to any report execution process that is triggered by an event rather than
a user request. The report server uses the unattended report processing account to log on to the computer that hosts the external data source. This account is necessary because the credentials of the Report Server service account are never used to connect
to other computers. To configure the account, please refer to the following steps:
Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.
Type the account and password, retype the password, and then click Apply.
In addition, please verify you have access to the Report Server database by following steps:
Go to SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager, make sure the configuration is correct.
Go to Database, Verify that you can connect to the database.
Make sure you are granted public and RSExecRole roles.

COLTperhaps you might want to try populating customer_id instead of name to make sure that there is no error on typing customer name.
primary ship-to and bill-to must exist under this customer. During order import, if ship-to is not specified then import will fetch primary ST of customer.

When i was run my web application in everyday morning(after that issue was not reproduced), it was immediatly redirected to logout page

Mark.I am using DPM 2012 R2, what finally worked to me to resolve my problem with EUR was to:
In DPM I disabled EUR
In Computer Management delete all DPM Shares (\\?\c:\Program Files\...)
Using ADSI edit go to CN=MS-ShareMapConfiguration,CN=System,DC=X,DC=Y (Replace X & Y for your domain)
Delete all of the mappings within the container
In DPM enable EUR
In DPM on a protection group I created a new recovery point and selected “Only synchronize (available only for file data)”

One or mor parameters were not specified for the subreport
I have a main report that has a sub report. It all seems to work fine, except that I get the error "One or mor parameters were not specified for the subreport" when the second page of the report is rendered. So I verifed that all the
parameters for both reports are setup correctly, looked at the data to see if it that was causing the issue, etc.... I found nothing.
Then I came across this article.

So I changed all the parameters on the sub report Available Values to none. Now it works without issues.
My problem is that the sub report needs to be run independently. By setting the Available Values to none, the user is unable to select values for the parameters. This is not acceptable.
I suppose I could create a duplicate report to use as the sub report, with all the Available Values set to none for the parameters, but that means I need to maintain two reports instead of one.
This has to be a bug.
Anyone come across this situation?

Sorry for the delay.
Based on my test, the error message hints that either the report parameter has not been passed from the main report to the subreport or that the wrong format of report parameter or an unacceptable value for the report parameter has been passed from the main
report to the subreport.
When passing the parameter from the main report to subreport, we can grant the parameter to Available values in the subreport. While the values passed should be contained by Available values of the parameter in the subreport. In this case, the error won't occur.
In other words, the parameter in the subreport can contain Available values.

You will have to check if the Tax_Code of RMA being received is the same as the one in the related sales order.
If not you will need to use the same tax_code.
